| said: The RIU Playacar is the smallest RIU hotel compared with the others in the area which was great for our kids as they they could venture out very safely in the hotel grounds to make friends. It also meant that we got to know many of the other guests and made some great friends. We agree with all the other previous comments especially about the entertainment. We had a great holiday and will definately visit Mexico again as the country and the people are fantastic. We would definately recommend this hotel and Mexico for a great family holiday

It felt better for it. It never got too busy and was very relaxing. The accomodation is in 2 and 3 storey blocks, painted nicely in bright colours.
The rooms are a good size and kept clean, our daughter loved the towel animals the maid left daily.
The food was the usual self serve from kitchen stations around the room and both the hot food and the salads were nice. There are 2 speciality restaurants on site, a stealhouse, which was nice and a mediterranean which only serves fish, so if like me you don't like fish, give it a miss as there is no other option.
It's got it's own private beach and loads of sun loungers. there were lots of activities, darts, horseshoes, shooting, and my favourite, the water baloon pool fight where the entertainment team were soaked by the guests!
The staff are friendly, but I found the pool bar service slow most days.
We would definately recommend it and visit again.
