Noooooo no no never again, all the negative feedback must say something, I read all this before travelling but booked anyway.

Bad Points:

Everything, the pool was like Pea soup you couldn't see the bottom not to mention there was ahem a floater of excrement one day and not a childs, the all inc bit was smothered in wasps due to the poor staff overworked and unable to clear tables, not enough sunbeds around 50 for over 200 guests and a few parasols not good in 40 degree sun, no happy hour as stated by olympic, the rep didn't want to know and we witnessed him using foul language to a girl who had tried to cancel a trip but he was on airport duy the day of the trip. Was told it was on a slight incline, when in fact its cardiac hill in the heat its exhausting getting to the top and we are only middle aged. Management rude and offensive, food foul, waiters foul and abbusive one particular with gelled back hair offered some young women we met to go to the rear of their apartments to view his 20cm penis. Eat only two evening meals and a bbq, rest forget it, pool bar weak drinks, spent 48 euros on whiskies and went to bed sober, stick to the bottled lager they can't meddle with.

We spent more time at the Chandris hotel group on the beach and were treated like royalty, spent a lot of money with them for first class service which the back street hotel could not offer or cope with.

Please, please don't go to this 'hotel' if you want a good holiday!! If, however, you enjoy dirty rooms, horrible food, weak booze, bolshy staff, and generally being treated as a nuisance (unless there is the possibility of them getting some money out of you!) then by all means book to go to this 'hotel'!
Never in my whole life have I stayed at such a shambles of a place. All inclusive guests are really just an inconvenience to the management as there is limited possibility of getting much more money out of them, apart from their little air con scam! This involves you being put into a filthy, stinking shoe box of a room until you give in and pay the 50euros for a weeks air con. After that you are really on your own. If you manage to get a drink from the all inc 'bar' that doesnt have a wasp swimming in it then you have achieved something I didnt manage all week! If you are a lover of olive oil on everything, then the food should be ok for you and if you are into recycling then it is even better. We played a game of 'guess whats for our next meal' this involved having a look to see what was left at the end of service and using our imaginations to decide what the chef could turn it into for the next couple of meals!! The only really nice thing on the menu was the homemade soups but even these were recycled!!
We spent a lot of time at the beach as it is lovely down there and just had a pizza from the all inc 'bar' for lunch as this was quite edible. We made the most of the all inc 'bar' by leaving it at 9.30 when it closed and walking into town...we refused to put any more money into this 'hotel' owners pockets so didnt buy anything from there, it is only a 5 min walk to some lovely bars and shops. People in town do tend to feel sorry for you when they see your all inc band on your wrist as they know where you are staying!! All in all, we had a cheap holiday but it really isnt worth it and I will definately not book again until I have read reviews on sites like this.

staying A/I at the Talemachos Hotel Corfu. Location up a very steep hill, Sea views maybe from two rooms only, inland views from others, not specacular, pool views from the rest. Cleanliness really not good at all, dusty, dirty and very smelly. Staff if you meet young Marco he's very pleasant, as for the rest of the staff, I felt that we were an incumberance along with all other guests, there for the purpose of as much financial gain as is possible to draw from holiday makers. Entertainment local singers dancers, although we did find some humour in them. Would I visit this hotel again, ABSOLUTELY NOT, NOT EVER. On return home got an email from a couple we met, who lucky for them got to go home before us, email asked if we had completed the escape tunnel !!

all inclusive guest will drink from plastic cups the drinks you ask for are the cheapest on the island ie local plonk ugh ,all spirits are brands i have not heard of . there is a nice circular bar by the pool but its not for your use , you will be served from a serving hatch on the other side of the pool , to sit at the bar you must pay for your drinks .
outside cleanliness good , inside apartments bathrooms need updating , towels/sheets changed twice a week if you are lucky .
the food is passable . hotel location
poor as you have to walk up a steep road for approx 200 mtrs to reach the hotel reception
staff i found quite rude at times
entertainment was basic local singers , only one tv in the whole complex this was situated in the lounge which was locked at 0930pm
i would never recomend this hotel to anyone

i booked a late deal to greece with my boyfriend and we paid only an extra 60 pounds for all inclusive. when we arrived in the room it was very basic, however, the shower was very small and every day we showered in cold water. the food was the pits, the only thing we could stomach was the bread and chips, which got very boring. after the first evening meal we decided that we would eat out every night. location was fine for what we wanted, bars and restaurants were pleasant - corfu and ipsos were nice. we have never stayed in a hotel with such ignorant and rude staff particularly the management and reception staff. they would not listen to any complaints and would do nothing to help, service was terrible. entertainment was non existant, there was the occasional live singer - very poor. we would not visit or recommend this hotel to my worst enemy we are very dissappointed and strongly recommend anyone reading this to stay well clear of this awful hotel.

we too have just arrived back from back from the hotel from hell also known as Tilemachos hotel. Like many others on this site we also arrived just after 6am, on arrival we were told 'to sit and wait' while each member of the coach party were booked in individually. Our stay started off badly as we refused to pay 50 euros for air conditioning so were told that we would be put in one room for the night but would be moved the next day. We managed an hours sleep before getting up for breakfast at 8, feeling grubby I decided to get a shower first, what a joke, as the shower in question had to be held whilst trying to wash underneath it.
Breakfast was a shambles, we were told off for helping ourselves to coffee, apparently 2 cups is the limit! After breakfaast we were requested to pay the 50 euros again, but again refused. We were then shown a room which was far too big and eventually got shown the room in which we were apparently booked originally. This room was FILTHY with piles of hair and dust on the floor, the wardrobe door was hanging on by 2 hinges and the least said about the bathroom the better. only to say I have never come out of a shower feeling dirtier than when I went in, in fact the during the whole of our week we only managed 2 hot showers! Complaints to the manager were met with a grin and shrugged shoulders. Our sheets and towels were changed twice but on the 2nd change we were only given 2 hand towels as they had run out of bath ones. The food was disgusting and we lived on bread, cereal, peaches and yoghurt. In the end we used the hotel as a base despite being all inclusive, ate out every lunchtime and avoided going back to the hotel til as late as possible. The final day we were told we had to be out of our rooms by midday despite not being picked up for the airport until 1.30 the following morning, we were told we could shower and wash in the toilet block but had to use our own towels, we couldnt even go and sit in the lounge area and watch tv as the doors to this were locked at 9.30 after dinner.Corfu itself is a beautiful island and the people very friendly just dont go anywhere near this hotel!!!!

Upon arrival we were taken to the reception area and checked in. We had to make our own way to our room which was in the new building. The room was fine, 1 double bed and 2 single beds in the family room which was what we had asked for. The room was cleaned everyday and there was clean sheets and towels twice a week.

We opted for the air conditioning which cost 95 euros for a fortninght stay, this we felt was a must as the temperature during our stay was between 90 and 110 degrees, especially hot during the night.

The food was basic, my children ate pizza, chips and bread n butter for the whole two week period.

The staff were okay most of the time but could become gruff and rude when other people complained.

Entertainment was basic, bingo and quiz night were okay.

The hotel is up a very steep hill which was pointed out to us when we booked but the severity of the incline was not mentioned.

All in all, there was not much to do for the children except to play on the pool table which cost 2 euros a game or the air hockey which was 1 euro a game. We were all looking forward to this holiday but it didn't live up to our expectations of an all inclusive holiday...we have had lots of experience with all inclusive holidays and we would not recommend this hotel to anyone else.

The bad reports that you read are true and anyone who says anything else are looking through rose tinted glasses.

I have spoken to the locals there and if they knew about this web site they would tell you the truth.

The only way to enjoy Corfu is to avoid this hotel as previous complaints have fallen on deaf ears.,

The only staff who were nice are the young staff as you can understand, with the years of experience the older staff know when to turn the charm on and off but I saw through that on our first day.

This is our second package holiday and will never go on one again. I am Very well travelled, have stayed all over Europe in most major cities and a lot of towns (due to my previous job) and have always found it easier to arrive, hire a car then find the most liked part of town to stay. This will give you the security and satisfaction of choice to leave when you want.

We will do this from now on everywhere we go.

Dont pay holiday companies money for nothing, support the locals (the nice ones) there are always rooms and apartments to rent away from the main chains of hotels everywhere in the world.

We did make the best of our holiday by renting a car and going north and west of the island, we now have great experience of the island and people there who are welcoming.

We have just arrived back from what can only be classed as a holiday from hell. The Telemachos Hotel was recommended to us by a rep of a local travel company, there must have been a bet to see who could recomment the worst hotel in the brochure. Our rep definately won.

We arrived in the early hours of the morning, everyone on the coach was just herded into the recption by the people on the reception desk. One man barked at us to go to Reception one couple at a time. When it was out turn to go to the reception the staff were very rude and unhelpful we were asked if we wanted a room with air conditioning, we asked how much and were told 50 euros so we declined their offer. We were put into a FILTHY room just across from the reception area the other side of the car park. The furniture was falling apart and as soon as we opened the door of our room a stench of raw sewerage hit us, it was disgusting. We had to endure the sound of coaches arriving all night so did not get a wink of sleep. The next morning we went to Reception as instructed to get our all inclusive bands. We spoke to a very helpful German lady who we complained to and we were given alternative accommodation but all they had were rooms with air conditioning so we had no choice but to pay the 50 euros for air conditioning. We believe that putting us into such a bad room was a ploy to get guests to pay for air conditioned rooms.

The room we were eventually given was very basic and not very clean but it was away from the noise and had air conditioning. There is a new accommodation block which was full of Germans and it was pot luck whether or not you would be lucky enough to get into one of the new rooms which were spacious and well fitted out. The cleaners did not clean the rooms thoroughly and there was at least an inch of dust under the bed, and the bathroom was cramped and disgustingly dirty. The furniture was falling apartand on more that than once occassion the slats fell out from under the bed. The sheets and blankets had holes in them and it was doubtful whether they had been cleaned.

The staff in the hotel were very rude at all times they always looked extremely grumpy and were not in the least helpful, it seemed as though you were an inconvenience to them.

In the brochure we were told that the pool area was open until 7pm. From 6pm the staff would start moving the sunbeds and re-arranging the tables for the evening. If you were on a sunbed or at a table and they wanted it move they would say "you must go now I need to clear up", if you were not on the sunbed or at the table they would just throw your towels and belongings on the floor and move the sun bed or table.

The food at this resort is disgusting, it is badly cooked and geared up for German visitors and not any other visitor from any other country. Breakfast consisted of ham and cheese and salads, and a very bad attempt at an English breakfast. The English Breakfast was beans that must have been diluted as they were tasteless and disgusting, the sausages were like a frankfurter and were so tasteless and cold. The bacon and the eggs were always cold and sat in at least an inch and a half of fat. The tea and coffee served were so weak and tasteless. The staff came and poured the tea and coffee for you and if you wanted more than one cup it was frowned upon. There was a very fat man who seemed to run the restaurant who was always ranting at the staff, if a guest asked him for anything he barked at them as if he were above them and was most rude and unhelpful. When going into the restaurant you were herded into the lounge area and if you walked into the restaurant to join the queue without the permission of the staff they would shout "oi you go over there". The lounge area was dirty and in dire need of refurbishment.

The "all inclusive" option at this hotel is a joke. It is only available until 9.30pm and consists of a serving hatch at the far side of the swimming pool which serves pizza, hot dogs, sandwiches, biscuits and ice cream. The drinks served seemed to be diluted and were served in plastic cups which were only half full. The food at the resort is so bad many of the guests either eat out or eat from the "all inclusive" bar which is not very nice but a better option that the restaurant.

At 8.25pm on the nail, one of the restaurant staff race over to the "all inclusive" bar / hatch and start shouting at the staff serving to stop. The guests are shooed away as if they are a bad smell and the hatch is closed at 9.30 on the dot.

The swimming pool is a milky white, we would not go into the pool as we feared we would be ill. There is a raised well like structure at one end of the poole and when any of the staff open the hatch a smell of raw sewerage fills the area, its terrible.

We were with a few other guests finishing our dinks one evening at the normal bar which had just closed. One of the staff came over and told us "to go to bed" as we could not sit and finish off our drinks as he wanted to go home.

Whilst at this holiday hotel from hell we hired push bikes for the day. The lady at the reception once we had ordered our bikes said we were entitled to a packed lunch which she rushed off a brought back. The packed lunch consisted of a chocolate croissant and a bottle of water. On another day we asked if we could have a packed lunch as we were "all inclusive" guests and we were going out for the day. We were told it was not permitted as we had not hired a bike or a car.

If you ask for a drink at the the other bar by the pool and you are an "all inclusive" guest they refuse to serve you and very rudely point you in the direction of the serving hatch as if being an all inclusive customer is a bad thing.

We would not recommend this hotel to anyone, and would only recommend that you do not go to the Telemachos Hotel as it a filthy dirty hotel, with very very rude and unhelpful staff. We have made a complaint to the travel company are looking for compensation.

We are a well travelled couple and have stayed at many resorts with 2 star rating and never experienced anything like this before, it really is a bad advertisement for any company that advertises this hotel in their brochure.

From arriving at the hotel the night doorman was rude and very unhelpfull we arrived at 4.30 and when we asked for some water because we did not have any he just told us "no" when we asked again because we thought he did not understand he just said we are closed and that we had to wait untill morning so we took this as we were not going to get any understanding form him.

The room was basic and dirty with no air conditioning a dirty discusting shower and toilet generally not a good standard.

The morning came and we were talking to a couple and they said that they were having a nightmare holiday and that if we were to have a hire car to get it from the hotel or the owner would be very off with us so as we had planned to hire a car we decided after the night doormans rude and unhelpfull attitude that we would book a car from them.

When we went to the hotel reception to get our all inclusive bands we were told that we were not all inclusive so we complained that we had booked all inclusive she asked us for our paperwork and we did not have it as we had handed it to the night doorman along with our passports. We stressed that we had paid for all inclusive and she said she could not find our paperwork. Eventually she found the paperwork and it did say that we were all inclusive but she still did not give us our all inclusive bands because she said it was not on her paperwork but she said she would ring office. Eventually we did get our all inclusive bands. It was at this point that we thought very bad of this hotel so i decided to tell her that we would like to book a car. Her attitude changed imediatly she could not be more helpfull if she had tried. So we booked a jeep for the week. She then said that she would give us a room upgrade with air conditioning if we wanted it we said yes and she then told us that it would be 45 euros for the air conditioning or we could stay in the room without, of corse we had to pay and we were moved the room was a little bit better but it was dirty. When we went for something to eat the dinning room was awfull the food was so greasy and basic there was no choice the food was just disgusting. when we went to the poolside the pool was dirty and you could not see the bottom it was so cloudy the sun beds were old and some of them had bits of metal sticking through the covers. When we went and got a drink from the bar we were told to pay because the all inclusive bar was the other side of the hotel. when we got a drink from the all inclusive bar ( if you could call it a bar, it was a sliding window about 5 foot wide ) all our drinks were served in plastick cups and if you were lucky they gave you a full cup. the snacks consisted of a packet of bicuits, pizza or ham/cheese toaties.

The night meal was much like breakfast only just edible and a distink lack of choice and the pudding was just one pudding. you were not allowed to serve yourself and were only given a small portion. and it was frowned upon to go up for more. But the way the food tasted you would not want more. So in the end we just ate the bread and soup and thought we would go to the poolside snack bar. when we asked for food there we were told that the food was not being seved after 8pm and it was about 8.01 so we just had a drink out of our half full plastic cups and waited for the entertainment to start. Entertainmaen started at 9.30 the all inclusive bar closed at 9.30 and when i say closed if there was a queue at exactly 9.30 they closed the window even though there was a queue so we had to buy drinks . The entertainment was poor to say the least it eas more like they had paid a very bad karaoke singer.

Bad start to our holiday things could only get better or so you would think.

The next day was much like the first day very rude staff, very poor food, very poor service, very poor entertainmaent and a swimming pool that loked like they did the laundry in it at night. And after complaining we were told by one member of staff to pack our bags and "fuckoff" if we did not like it

We spent 6 days of our holiday eating and drinking outside of this hotel
the hotel was situated at the top of a very steep hill about 2km from the main resort.

on the day we checked out of the hotel we had been asking all week to stay in the room for a late checkout we were only told on the morning that the room was booked and someone was moving in from another room and she showed us a piece of paper of who was moving in. we were also told that we could not have all inclusive as we were checked out. when we came back that night to pick up our bags and get changed we tried the room and no body was in it. We had to get showered and changed in a toilet by the pool.

There is a lot more i could say about this hotel but i think this is enough

For what was going to be a cheap gettaway for our belated honeymoon we spent so much money eating out of the hotel we spent over 500 pounds eating

The waiters were OK but the management have got serious issues about being polite and have no people skills whatsoever.

The Telemachos Hotel in Dassia was lovely. It is situated up a steep access road with lovely private gardens and apartments lining the way (except for the shop at the bottom which was in the process of building repairs).

There are 7 accommodation blocks with great views from all of them either of the surrounding countryside with a very few sea view rooms or of the courtyard or pool or gardens.

Remember it is Greece and is in a very hilly location. The grounds and Hotel are very clean and well maintained. The food is well cooked (The chef is Scottish and understands catering in a 2 * hotel very well) although the menu is repetitive all special dietary needs are catered for.

I cannot eat any form of Chicken or Pork and as soon as the chef knew this there was always an alternative on offer. The milk for cereals at breakfast is UHT as in most parts of Greece but all other parts of Breakfast were OK with the exception of the Fried eggs.

These were cooked in the old Scottish Style, ie crispy round the edges and with a runny yolk. The lunch was a two course meal and the Evening Dinner was a three course meal with a choice of soup (only one flavour each evening but never the same any evening when we were there), at least 5 sorts of salad, 2 choices of meat, 5 choices of vegetable and 1 type of desert.

There was either red or white local wine on offer at both lunch and dinner time served in jugs from which you helped yourself or jugs of water to help yourself from. At the end of the dinner service area there was orange juice on offer for breakfast and lunch. A waiter served either tea or coffee at your table and you helped yourself to at the salad bar.

The facilities were very good for a 2*hotel with a twice weekly change of bedding and towels. I only had one complaint during the week I stayed there,(the towel I was issued when the sheets and towels were changed was dirty).

When I took the dirty towel to reception the receptionist took it off me and ran to fetch a clean one. He apologised to me both before fetching a clean one and afterwards. The owners wife is German and the owner Greek. Both her parents and her children work in the hotel.

Many of the guests I spoke to have visited the hotel on many occasions and have become friendly with the staff.

The entertainment was pretty good for a 2* hotel with two duos singing, a single pianist, a Greek night, a disco and a karaoke evening.

There were 2 outdoor bars both of which were well stocked with alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks one of which was for all inclusive guests and one of which was for all other guests.

These were open from 10 am to 8 pm and the indoor bar was open from 8 pm untill late although free drinks for all inclusive guests stopped at 9.30pm.

Definitely a place I would visit again.

Incredible hotel.

Staff super rude. I say again ...incredible service. In 7 days they will only change towels, sheets etc..2 times. Their policy eeh! The fact that it is a 2 star hotel is not an excuse...I've been in 2 star hotels around Europe but had never been served this way.

Receptionist = Owner. If you rent a car from outside the hotel she'll be your nightmare the whole holiday. We had paid extra for A/C but she told us no rooms were available with the A/C. When we complained, guess what was her reaction...if you don't like, go away in a very arrogant attitude!

I can assure you, you'll have more fun if you take a camping tent with you and sleep in it!

Something for the Maltese people....The tour leader sent by our agent is not very helpful. When we had problems with the hotel, he told us that they knew about her but could do nothing because she is the owner and she acts like Hitler! What a solution ehh! You can really rely on him in case of emergency!

I would never go with this company again in all we had a holiday from hell. My grandson got his foot shut in the lift cost 120 euros, my husband slipped down wet stairs, we all had food poisoning after eating in their restaurant

Had passport taken from room but no break in some one had key? Not allowed to take food or drink into your room unless you buy it off them which is expensive owner and his German wife were only interested if you were German put us in a studio for two even though we paid for a room for four could not go on balcony due to the smell of the sewers all day and night would not go again if you gave me it free with 1,000 spending money

We stayed as all inclusive package, although drinks stopped at 9:30pm they did not seem to mind if you went up a little before that time to collect more drinks (on the condition you did not go too over the top). The snacks were fantastic and available from 10am, which is good if you miss breakfast. The meals were nice, we stayed a week and out of that, there was only 2 meals where I felt there was not much choice to choose from.

The Hotel was always clean and maid service daily, although towels and sheets were only changed twice a week.

The location was good at the bottom of the bank to the hotel there are a few tavernas and the beach is only a maximum of 15minutes away.

The staff were fantastic and were willing to help in any way possible.

The entertainment is best to be taken as more of a comedy than a serious night, but it was a great laugh to watch and it did not usually finish until between 11.30pm and 12am.

We will definitely visit again, it was a great holiday at a great price.

Myself and A friend went for a week and stayed at this "hotel",one word...awful!

We stayed bed and breakfast, and after I finished my first "small" portion, I went up to get some more,

I said to the woman serving and said..."could I have another plate please",which she angrily replied back with..."MORE!"...."YES MR BUMBLE MORE"!

I woke up to find my door open, and found the key down in reception, the staff couldn't give me an answer to why my key was down stairs.

When back in the room I found that my i-pod had been stolen,I explained to the rep and she said all I could do was so to the local police station (which I might add was a 17euro cab fare).I explained that it should be them who should pay for a cab but they didn't want to know.

The toilet seat was broken, the shower leaked like hell.
the area is a nice area, but only for couples, but avoid this hotel.

Also found out by one of the guys that the hotel was on watchdog twice.

All in all.....don't bother!!!!!

We stayed at the Telemachus hotel in August on an all inclusive basis.

I was very surprised when we arrived there as the reports I read on the internet made me not want to go (my 1st time abroad) so I was dreading it! Well.....I'm glad I went now as the hotel is really really nice.

Hotel was kept very clean, there were maids everywhere, and all very busy!

The food took quite a while for me to get used to but eh I don't cook everything in olive oil, but loved it after a couple of days, and if the children didn't like anything to offer they only had to ask for chips etc and they got it.

The hotel was situated at the top of a bank? wrong!! It wasn't that big....more like a little slope and it was beautiful to walk up and down as there are olive trees, vines and fruit trees lining it either side, it took about 15 mins to the beach and that was in 40 degree temperatures with 2 children.

The hotel staff were very pleasant and were always there to help the only major disappointment we had was the all inclusive bar as it closed at 9.30pm, and on the second week we weren't allowed to stack the table with more than 3 drinks, which I did go and investigate. Which resulted in us going down to see the night life during our second week.

The entertainment was fab! The children loved the Greek nite and karaoke, and the barbeque....lots to eat.

We would definitely stay at Telemachus hotel again, the only thing that was a disappointment was the all bar closing at 9.30, other than that get yourself there.

Telemachos hotel was great for a 2* hotel.

We only went b+b but breakfast was good.

The pools were great fun.

Hotel was clean apart from the bathrooms.

Staff were great and helpful.

Though the entertainment wasn't varied the karaoke was good fun though a little embarrassing.

If I was strapped for cash I would go back for a great holiday.

Me and my boyfriend stayed here for a week with Olympic, we thought the hotel was kept very clean and our room was spacious. We didn't have air con so we hired out a fan for about £20 euros.

The pool is great. The sunbeds could do with replacing, as they were all broken and shabby.

The food was ok, not the best but ok for a 2*. The all inclusive bar shut at 9.30 which was disappointing, but it did mention that in the brochure, which I must say is pretty spot on.

The entertainment wasn't the best.

We went into Ipsos a lot as we do like the nightclubs and there was only 2 in Dassia.

There is a steep slope leading up so O wouldn't recommend to someone who struggles walking.

We hired out a moped whilst there and visited Corfu town which took us about 45 mins to get there, and also Kassiopi, which took 30 mins, both very nice.

The beach is 15 mins away and it did get very busy cos its only small, and its not sand it is shingle.

To sum up this hotel is great for a quiet relaxing break, definitely for couples.

Our room was family sized in the new wing which was added in the winter months. It was absolutely huge. There was air conditioning which was great as it was very hot. The room was spotlessly clean and had lots of cupboard space and a large balcony that overlooked a landscaped area at the back making it very quiet.

Although the hotel is on an incline, it only takes a matter of minutes to walk up the hill. Remember you're on your holidays and you don't have to race to the top. The pool area is tidy with pleasant views onto hills with cypress trees.

We found the staff extremely friendly and helpful. I don't want to mention anyone by name because I'm afraid I'll leave someone out. Nightly entertainment is not high on our holiday agenda but the few nights we spent by the pool bar were most enjoyable.

We sat up until the wee small hours with a few cocktails and some new friends we hope to stay in touch with.

We stayed for 2 weeks and found the hotel to be very good for a 2 star. It was cleaned everyday towels every three days sheets twice a week, room swept and washed everyday.

The location was fine and the hill was small staff in hotel we found to be friendly.

Entertainment was fine food we thought good after all how much can I eat and snacks were great I would say it was exactly as brochure said so if you read the brochure you will know what you will get.

Me and my boyfriend visited the Tilemachos hotel about 2 months ago and before we went I had read a lot of bad reviews and was worried about visiting it but I was really pleased with it.

What people need to remember is that it is 2* not 5*!!! It was basic but it was perfect for the basic holiday that we were both looking for.

The food was fine, sometimes there could have been more choice but there was always plenty to eat. Plenty of fresh salad and bread as well as cooked foods. The food at the all inclusive bar was ok, not the best but if you fill up at the meal times you don't need to eat it. The ice cream is nice and the pizza is also ok.

The only complaint that I had with the hotel was the fact that the all inclusive bar shut at 9.30 and that they only had vodka, rum, whiskey and ouzo. It would have been better if they had sold some drinks that I liked. But I was happy with all of the soft drinks like coke, diet coke, tango etc.

The maids were excellent and cleaned every day and gave fresh sheets and towels twice a week.

The staff are friendly and we got to know them well by the end.

A must do is the excursion 'beach bbq'. It was the most perfect lovely day out. You will feel like you’re in paradise.

I just wanted to clear up any confusion that it was really bad because it isn't. If your going on a 2* holiday that’s what your going to get! Not a 5*!

If you’re looking for some where relaxing and quiet it is perfect.

Dassia doesn't have much night life though! But Ipsos is only 30 minutes away walking or 5 minutes in a taxi.

We have just returned from our two week holiday at the hotel Telemachos and i have to say we have had a superb time. We had read the reviews before we went and to be honest were a little concerned, but could see that what we were to expect was a basic 2* (as 2 stars enevitably are!!) with friendly staff and ok food, and that is exactly what we got!
The accomodation is actually quite nice, ok its not luxurious, but clean and basic. The maid comes everyday to clean and bed linen and towels are changed about twice weekly.
The food is ok too-
Breakfast is ok, but if you dont fancy it, do what we did and eat after 10am, they then have Toasties and Pizzas on the go and they are delicious!
Lunch is Salads and 1 hot dish, usually something like Spagetti Bolognase.
Dinner is Soup, several Salads and the choice of about Three hot dishes with either rice, pasta or chips. Only complaint about the food is it could be hotter, but it didn't spoil it. There is a barbecue once a week too and the food is great, coffee and Icecream is good too.
The entertainment is interesting! Must admit we found the Singers and Karaoke probably more amusing than impressive, but hey, everyone joined in and it was a great laugh!
Location I thought was perfect, off the main road quiet, away from the traffic, OK there is a bit of a hill up to the hotel about 150 mtrs or so and it may bother the elderly, but certainly didnt bother us.
All Inclusive Bar closes at 9.30, some people got enough drinks in before it closed to last them the night and nothing at all was said to them. Anyway there is usually a curfew on All Inclusive drinks, wherever you stay. We however, went for a walk to the local bars most nights, then returned to the hotel for last drinks.
The best thing about the hotel has to be the staff, they were absolutely superb, from the cleaners and receptionists through to the hotel manager, everyone was so warm, friendly and helpful they really made the holiday for us. They worked such long hours, but even then always had time for the guests. The barmen/waiters/poolboys/porters/cooks/wasp catchers and to be honest, general daytime entertainment that came in the form of Ben, Giovanni and Pedro, were brilliant!
We would definitely return to the hotel Telemachos and would urge anyone who is about to go on holiday there to remember that its a 2star hotel, for 2 star prices, but you definitely get more than you pay for!

Have a great holiday!

Suzanne & Gareth.

Hi my name is Gemma i am 18 years of age and i have just got back from Tilemachos Hotel. I thought it was a disgrace i have never been to a hotel like it in my life i could not believe i had paid out so much money it was a waste. the staff were rude anhd the food was disgusting. i could not believe that the all inclusive bar closed at 21:30 i thought it was a joke when somebody told me and the way that they worked it as well, finishing it just before the entertainment started they knew what they were doing. Also i have never seen so many wasps in all my life they have two wasp nests that we saw and did nothing about it plenty of people were stung including myself when i did ask for something to be done about they just said what do you want us to do. the staff were not helpful at all. i would not advise anybody to go there and i certainly will not be going back next year.

The Tilemachos Hotel is rated a 2 star. As long as people remember this, the hotel will exceed their expectations.

We both work in the travel industry, so I guess we knew what to expect. The hotel certainly exceeded our own expectations.

All Inclusive - definitely worth doing, as the pool bar (the only place you can buy drinks) is typically expensive.

The All Inclusive bar is staffed by one person, and opens daily at 1000, closing at 2130. I'll say again, the free food and drinks stop at 2130! Quite a few people were miffed about the alcohol stopping at 2130. But, plan your evenings a little, and you can make the most of it! We spent the first part of the evening in the hotel, til 2130(!), then took the short taxi ride into Ipsos (costs about 10 Euro each way) for the nightlife.

The standard of the food is again, typically Greek, but more than you would expect from a 2 star property. It's not the same food day in day out either, the Greek/Italian family that run the hotel seem to like their food and are very proud of what they produce. There was always a few choices of salad and then around 4 choices of hot dishes. Not always a desert on offer though, but luckily we dont have a sweet tooth!

A typical Greek hotel really, quite small, and in a location at the top of a winding drive (up hill). Quite an unimpressive reception area, dated decor. But then you dont come on holiday to admire the reception!

Previous reviews have stated that the Tilemachos is at the top of a hill, which makes it sound like to get to it is like climbing Everest. It's not all that bad, but I would definitely show caution if you or your travelling companions are less able bodied. It is quite steep, especially when climbing in the heat of the midday sunshine.

First impressions of the hotel were quite positive, it was clean, quite small and freshly decorated and appeared comfortable, our room which was a twin room was quite spacious and comprised of 2 single beds, a large wardrobe, dressing table and 2 sets of drawers. The bathroom had a shower and a hairdryer but no bath. Unfortunately our balcony overlooked the car park. The room was cleaned daily and the bed linen changed twice. Air con was an optional extra costing 40 euros.

The all inclusive guests were treated like 2nd class citizens, we could only get food and drinks from a small hut in a well hidden, shaded area over the far side of the pool, the food available to us was pizza slice, ice cream, hot dog or cheese on toast and the small selection of local drinks we were allowed were served in plastic cups and only until 9:30pm, stockpiling drinks was also frowned upon. We were not allowed to use our all inclusive privileges in the inside bar or the poolside bar. The food available at lunch and dinner was un-varied and un-appetising with stale bread and one desert each night, I stuck to soup for the most part accompanied by warm bitter tasting wine or tepid tap water.

I found the staff miserable, unfriendly and unhelpful. The entertainment was dire, there was a quiz, a karaoke, a female vocalist, a BBQ and the highlight of the entertainment was a Greek night with traditional dancers which was actually pretty good.

On an upside the pool was lovely and there was a separate shallow pool for children which was the only child friendly aspect to the hotel.

I thought this hotel was ok, I think other people have been to harsh. I've been to Greece for the last 3 years and this was maybe my least favourite but it was still a good base for our holiday.
There are 2 pools which was great because it kept all the splashing sprogs out of the adult one!!
The bar is right next to the pool, serving cocktails, coffee, local beer etc. Yes it was expensive but hey, your on holiday, if you can't spend on holiday when can you??
The rooms were kept clean, towels/bedding changed a couple of times during the week. Bins emptied every day.
The food was ok, nothing special, but certainly edible. Whilst we were there we had Lasagne, beef stew, a barbecue with loads of great meat, lot's of salad, the feta cheese was divine!! Pudding was generally jelly, fruit or creme brulee. There was always soup to start with as well.
The staff were all very helpful, there were quite alot of peope working there, so we never figured out who the actual owner was.
The hotel has it's own shop (past reception) full of emergency things like shampoo/conditioner/insect repellent (a must in Greece!!)
We were very very worried about staying in this hotel after reading many bad reports on different web pages but I really wouldn't worry because we had a very enjoyable holiday, and like many before me have written - you have paid for a 2 star hotel - deal with it - you get what you pay for!!

Enjoy your holiday

Yamas!!

The hotel would be what you would expect from a 2* hotel. All i can say about the food is that it was inedible junk.

There was very little selection which most of it made me want to vomit, on a couple of occasions my partner actually did.

The drinks were fine but the only problem we had was that the bar closed at 21:30 although the very expensive paying bar was open until late (very smart eh!!!).

I must stipulate though that the staff were ace, they could not have been more helpful.

just returned from telemachos hotel in dassis corfu. having been to quite a few all inclusive hotels i don't put this in that category at all. very poor selection of food one choice of hot meal so if you didn't like it tough, no selection on sweets most days it was fruit in jelly. only four choices of drinks, rum, brandy, gin or ouzo which compared to other places is very basic. i know it is only 2* but we still paid over £1,000 for 3 of us so i expected a bit more for my money. as for the rooms well i can cope with most things but the damp was really bad in the bed and most of our clothes after a few days were damp as well. to finish on a postive note most of the staff were very friendly and helpfull but i hasten to add we won't be going back

We stayed in this hell hole for only one week but glad to leave. FOOD it looked and tasted like the food was delivered to the hotel after the bins were emptied at the other hotels.

We hired a car for a couple of days and were told if you use a certain company the packed lunch would be provided free, we got one cheese roll and one can of drink each (whoopi do)drinks stopped at 9.30 just as the entertainment started which consisted of some Albanian twins dancing, the drunk gardner waving his arms around a ring of flame and a guy called Kavos on the organ all he seemed to do was sit at the key board smoking wilst playing pre recorded tunes.

There was a flasher on a moped outside the hotel and on the beach a guy around 70 was asking the ladies on the beach if they wanted sex and then going to play with himself in the bushes.

All in all I would not send my worse enemy to this dump.

the truth in my humble opinion
just got back 4 otober 2003 for one week
ive read the comments above some i agree with some i dont
so from a much travelled man here goes

dassia fairly quiet suits older types and familes not 18-30 (go to chaos)
hotel about 10-12 mins from beach
6-8 mins from bars shops etc

the slope- not that bad its shaded by trees and takes 4-6 mins to walk up
the pool ok clean tidy not heated nice childs area
the bar the all inc bar IS next to the pool approx 15-20 feet away (the paying bar is closer 8-12 feet away!!) the bar is covered from sun with large seating area
the bar does the snacks hot dogs pizza toaties and ice cream
ice cream very good and others average BUT what do you expect in under 4 mins!!
the staff- very helpful all speak english fat german lady and skinny greek lady very helpful BUT skinny greek man the night porter a pain in arse lazy and unhelpful so be warned if you come in the night
food - we went all inc average salads nice cooked food can be warm so get there early
rooms 2 types in the hotel and in the sheds by the pool
hotel rooms said to be ok we had a shed clean (cleaner came every day) BUT damp with damp patches on walls and ceilings major painting going on the day i left problem with damp is simple first no vents in bathroom and the mozzies people leave the windows and patio doors closed ALL the time
(take cream)

entertainment- very limited starts at 9:30 usual stuff singers karoke etc tip here get lots of drinks in at 9:15 (9:30 onwards all inc have to pay) drink on until you ether like /dislike the music and walk down dassia

all in all 4 out of 10
BUT you have to remember its a 2 star hotel and its cheap

My name is Dawn and i stayed in the hotel telemachos with my boyfriend Adam on the week begining 15th September 2003 (yes just got back) and i LOVED it!!!!! the meals weren't all that i must admit but i was only b&b so can't really complain the rooms are basic but for b&b what do you expect? The staff were great really friendly bought us drinks on occasion got on with them really well INCLUDING the manager (yes that's right ) lol. He was very nice always said good morning/evening, bought us drinks here and there and even saw us off on our last night gave us a warm hug and told us to takecare and have a safe journey! as for the all inclusive bar being (far) away from the pool that is rubbish it's not very much futher back at all and what's a few more steps anyway? Something did go missing in my room and i had to complaine about it no one saw me as a trouble maker at all and the next day there it was folded up on the pillow (me thinks the cleaner stole it) so beware, and yes cold showers were frequent but you had certain times that you had hot water so if you pay attention then there will be no more cold showers and less complaining!! the times for hot water i found were as follows...8-9:30am and 5-6:30pm stick to those times and your guarenteed a hot shower. Just down a hill at the end of the hotel are the shops, restaurants, bars, and the beach is not a long walk at all however if you like a bit more scenery etc i would advise you to hire either a moped or a car. This is because at the moment we were told that taxi fairs are 20 euros and although buses are cheaper they are not very reliable at all! this is because the greeks are very layed back. If you get a ground floor appartment be prepared for the creapy crawlies ewww lol it wasn't too bad in my room and i didn't mind as much when i found out that crickets actually eat the mossies lol! Umbrellas for the pool area are available on request and the entertainment isn't too bad the karaoke is the best i thought but it depends what you like and what holiday you are looking for Dassia is a great centre point for traveling either way and my b/f and i covered the whole top half of the island ina matter of days on the moped so well worth doing that. All in all the hotel and area and people around it were fantastic made friends with the waiters, manager, and some of the other holiday makers as well was a great holiday and i wouldn't hesitate in going back there at all i deffinately give it the thumbs up (from a b&b point of view lol).

hi my name is ema and i am 16, me and my family and a friend went to the Telemachos hotel in Dassia on July 11th 2003 for a week and we went all inclusive. Before we went away i looked on the internet to find some info on the hotel and we were upset to find bad reports on the hotel, so we went away expecting the worst, but we were pleasantly surprised. Many reports i had read said that the hotel was on a steep hill, the hotel is on abit of a hill but it is far from steep and is not very long. When we arrived at the hotel it was the middle of the night but we were still welcomed by friendly staff who showed us to our rooms and told us everything we needed to know.
The rooms in the hotel are basic like some reports have mentioned but they have everything you need, our room was cleaned every other day, which consisted of the floors being cleaned and swept if they needed to be, beds made, bins emptied and balconys cleaned. The towels in our room were changed twice while we were there and the bedding once which was fine.
I must admit there was a lack of things to do while in the hotel but unlike some reports say, what was there was good. There is a nice swimming pool which was cleaned everyday, a pool table, table tennis and a park for children. Around the pool there were a fair amount of sun loungers, enough for the amount of people that were at the hotel at the time of us being there but maybe not enough when really busy. There are 2 bars near the pool one is an all inclusive bar and the other you have to pay for your drinks. The all inclusive bar serves hot and cold snacks throughout the day, toasties, pizza, sandwiches, hotdogs, ice cream etc and a selection of cold drinks such as lemonade, coke, limeade, orange juice and alcoholic drinks such as bacardi, vodka, beer, ouzo, rum. Which was enough selection for us and was all good quality. But i do agree with people when they say that it wasnt good that the the all inclusive drinks finished at 9.30 but you can get drinks and keep them at your table for later or buy drinks from the other bar.
All the meals served at the hotel were self service but the food was good quality, the hot food was hot and the cold food was cold and well presented.
The food that was served for breakfast ranged from bread and jam to fried breakfast and cereal.
At dinner there was a range of different salads, pastas and rice dishes.
For tea there was also lots of different salads but there was also a set menu which changed daily with things like lasagne, roast chicken and some nights barbecues.
The entertainment wasnt brilliant but it was bareable, this ranged from kareoke to bingo and dancing. Most nights when we were in Corfu we went out of the hotel and went on trips to Corfu town late nite shopping, a trip of the local islands eg paxos. We also went to Ipsos to experience the nite life which was fun for me and my friend being 16, Ipsos is full of clubs and cocktail bars and is very loud, good for younger people but my parents enjoyed it there aswell.
The beach in Dassia is very long and shingley but it is nice and you can do a number of watersports from here and boat trips and there are lots of restaurants and bars on the beach, but to get the most out of your holiday i suggest that you travel out of Dassia as there are many lovely places to visit.
I thought i should write this report to reassure all the people who are going to this hotel and have seen bad reports as we did and to let you know that my holiday to this hotel was one of the best i have been on and i hope you have a nice holiday

I have just come back from a weeks holiday with my friends at the Telemachos hotel. We are 18 and have just finished school so this was our celebratory holiday, and i think these comments about the hotel are completely inaccurate. The hotel is basic its not a five star as stated in the brochure so you shouldnt be expecting rooms that are particularly glamourous. They do however have the basic things you need- a toilet, beds, bedside tables, chairs, small coffee table type thing and a vanity unit with a mirror and that was in a double room, they also had a room for four ( we had a party of six so we had a room for two and a room for four) which is certainly suitable for larger groups. each of the rooms also had adequate wardrobe space built in and the bigger room also had an extra wardrobe. the towels are only changed once a week but then it is only a small hotel, if your towel does manage to get dirty enough then it would not be difficult to wash it and i can only imagin that if you did ask for a clean one the staff would be very accomadating as they were all very friendly. All of the staff speak english which is good if you speak little or no greek. They were all warm and friendly and happy to help and the waiters frequently laughing and making jokes with us.
The all inclusive bar isnt Right next to the pool but its barely a thirty second walk from the pool, it also had a much larger seating area than the regular bar and it was sheltered. The food was also really good we certainly took adavantage of the all inclusive ice cream which was lovely. The pizza you can get here is also very good quality better than shop bought stuff here.
There is a hotel shop where you can by many essentials such as toiletries and swim stuff- even lilos for the pool. they also sell postcards a lot cheaper than the local shops (30c at the hotel, 60c in local shop.)
The previous descripitions here of the hotel entertainments is also grossly inacurate. Each night in the week the hotel lays on a differents entertainment. during our week we experienced: greek dancing and plate smashing- which everyone is encouraged to take part in, bbq's, kareoke, live music, local dancers- belly dancing and getting everyone to join in with things such as the macarena, a happy 'hour' from 9pm- 11pm where the cocktails are half price ( the hotel special is especially good). all of these take place in the evenings, pool side with a lovely atmosphere. going all inclusive also lays open further entertainment opportunites. during the reps welcome meeting there are a series of activities listed in which you have the chance to take part. these are at extra cost but because they take place outside the hotel. you will be picked up from just outside the hotel though by the olympic coach and taken to the destintion and brought home again. so i would strongly recomend taking some extra money to give you the chance to take part although you can pay by credit card. The two i went on which i would highly recommend were the Greek night and shopping in corfu town. The grrek night was amazing fun and you are served a four course tradtional greek meal which is very nice and they is the opportunity for the veggie alternative. The corfu shopping trip was fantastic, the old town is beautiful, the souveniers are plentiful, people are very friendly, and because you go from 5.30pm-10pm (6pm-9.30pm is spend there) it is not so hot and you will be able to see the sun set over the old port which is beautiful.
Overall i had a fantastic time the hotal is certainly adequate for those out to enjoy some R and R but provides fantastic entertainment at the same time. it is a few minutes walk away from bars and clubs and young people looking to go clubbing till the early hours its worth getting a taxi to Ipsos where there are many bars and clubs. We also found it was worth going down from the hotel to the nearest beach about 4.30ish and just walking/sitting down there and watching the sunrise over the water because it is breath taking. during the day the beach also provides a wide variety of water sports from banana boating to parasailing at very reasonable prices.
The Telemachos Hotel is simply what you make it if you make the effoert to embrace the culture and take part in the entertainment and are nice and friendly to the locals you will have a fantastic time. I certainly did!

This hotel is Gods toilet! The Manager is rude and forgets how much one has paid to stay, everything seems to come from his own pocket. Sporadic hot water during the day, clean,or should i say, changed towels ONCE A WEEK, any request for further changes met with rude refusal! The meals are unimaginative and usually cold, the salads getting warmer and more limp.Do NOT go All inclusive if you want any value for money. The bar shuts at 2130.If you want a drink with your evening meal either take it in with you from the All inclusive "shack",or get up from your cold meal and get it yourself!Better still, dont eat there. All inclusive snacks from the All inclusive shed consist of Cold Hot dog, Pizza slice,Sandwich or Toastie, made with old tasting bread. This bread makes an appearance at Breakfast as well, somewhat akin to stale sliced Mothers Ptride or any other make. If youi leave the "Hotel" complex...sounds good... dont under any circumstances ask for a Packed lunch or anything else normally deemed to be All Inclusive, you will be refused and deemed to be a trouble maker in the eyes of The Manager. Also if you want more than a couple of items from the All inclusive shack be prepared to be asked,"Are these all for you?" My daughter was refused on several occassions. Not least the Manager does not even serve local spirits, Ispoke to people in the other Bars who informed me he has supplies of local firewater,"Boomber",or however its spelt. This is the stuff that rots your insides and for which Tramps have an affinity. All in all Dont Go, go to Albania or Afghanistan or anywhere but Not the Telemachos, even the Rep is sick of the meaness and pennypinching.I dont even think the staff are happy there,at least the three who spoke were not. There is also a steep bank at the end of a longish road, not suitable for old, infirm or generally unfit, of course you could always ask The Manager for a lift!A WASTE OF MONEY AND HOLIDAY TIME! Brigid,

This is definatly NOT a young persons resort. It is more of a relaxation hotel. If you are all inclusive you have a seperate bar area from anyone else(situated away from the pool) and you cannot get free drinks from the pool bar as shown in the brochure.(anything you get from this bar you have to pay for, which i think is terrible)

The all inclusive food and drinks stop at 9:30pm and this is when the entertainment starts in the hotel.Nothing else is on until then apart from the same tape of music they play every night which you get a bit sick of after a fortnight.

Rooms where very basic(white washed) and a lot of the rooms had damp patches on the walls.

Pool was ok and sunbeds where free for all inclusive guests.

Choice of meals was terrible and quality of the food was really bad too.We ate out most nights, which also meant spending more money which you had allready payed for with all inclusive.

This was definatly not worth the money we payed.
