| said: This is the second time I have visited this hotel in the last 2 years and unfortunately it will be the last. The hotel was excellent in many ways the first time I visited in 2004 and that was the main reason why we returned however on this occassion there was a noticeable difference in the food - the quality was not always good, the choice each night was not that great and the variety over the week we stayed did not change much. Much to my disappointment, myself and a memeber of my family both became ill for a couple of days of the holiday after eating the same thing (scrambled eggs)in the restuarant of the hotel. We also found out that a lot of the guests suffered the same symtoms of upset stomachs and vomitting (one geust was even hospitalised) however this was put down to a supposed bug going round the island!!
The hotel is excellent in many other ways - great location on the beach and easy access to both Palma Nova and Magaluf. The staff of the hotel are very welcoming and friendly and the maids keep the rooms and the rest of the hotel very clean and tidy. On the entertainment side there needs to be improvements - the Rep in charge of the entertainment did the best with what she had available and I commend her as her job was not easy as the age groups did vary so she had to try and please everyone however the hotel need to rethink the all-inclusvie bar location. Previously it was in the bar located below the hotel which had agood atmosphere however it has now been relocated to the bar just off the pool which lacks atmosphere altogether - the ligthing is very bright and harsh and it did not really feel very holiday like.
Due to my bad experience this time round I will not be returning to the Commodro Playa however please do not let my comments put you off visiting this hotel as it still has many good things to offer.

| said: We stayed in the hotel on an all inclusive basis. Having read numerous reviews on the net about this hotel we were worried about our stay there. We originally booked another hotel but due to lack of bookings were offered this one as an alternative. We worried unduly.
Admittedly the hotel is not quite a 4* more of a 3* and the food is more of a 2* than anything. It is edible and not cold as many people state but very repetitive and not much choice.
The location is superb set right on Palma Nova beach but beware of the strong winds that come in from the sea. The beach is a danger zone in this weather as the sand flies into your face and it is very painful and could cause a child some damage. Magaluf beach however is close by and much warmer and calmer.
The hotel staff are second to none especially Jonathan who works in the bar even on his day off. The reception manager is again fantastic any question he cant answer he rings someone and gets the information for you. Nothing is too much trouble for them.
Sven the entertainment guy is good fun. He runs a music quiz which is questions about english music, bingo night, there is a local singer comes in also.
This hotel is not really geared up for children out of season as there are no kids clubs or entertainment.
Whether or not things are different in season I dont know.
The hotel pool is somewhat small for the size of the hotel and slopes sharply without warning after a short distance from the steps. That is if you can bear to go any further from the steps as the water is freezing cold and doesnt get any warmer as the day wears on.
Having said that you get what you pay for and we believe we got a bargain. So much so we are considering booking again for a future holiday.

| said: We've been twice, and would go back tomorrow! Outstanding location, on the beach, all rooms sea view, two lifts, cleanliness excellent, food ok but served in perfect surroundings. Staff very pleasnt and helpful. Though within easy reach of lager lout territory, a good location and quietish at night. Not much in the way of entertainment within the hotel, but easy access locally. Perhaps suited to the over 40's, which suited me fine!!

| said: We stayed in this hotel in June 2003 and we had the time of our life! It is excellent, the beach is on your doorstep and the food was great, eat as much as you like! The pool was not very good but the beach was right there so it made up for it! It was spotless and the cleaners were there every other day. There was no entertainment in the hotel. I didn't want to go home it was fab!
The only complaint we had was that our the balcony we could see the downstairs roof and there were items of clothing and other adult items and when we complained the man on reception pretended he could not understand us - even when we took pictures to show him!!
I did look at reviews on a website last year though as I was thinking of going back but people who had stayed there then said the food was really bad??!
So hopefully it has not gone downhill any and will be great for you!
