The pool area is good but needs to be cleaned far better.the pool bar staff are great but serve so slowly and every thing in plastic cups.
The restaurant is clean the food is bearable for one week second week I just had breakfast and burgers dinner time toasties in the late afternoon.
The refurbished villas are clean and located in beautiful gardens ours were close to the beach.
The staff and reception management are the most helpful kind people you will ever come across.however due to being owned by the cuban government their hands are tied so they can do little to eradicate problems because higher management do nothing to help.
There is a noticeable difference between spanish owned hotels and cuban owned hotels. All said and done please understand that the Cuban people and especially the staff at Villa Cojimar are lovely caring people that live and work in a harsh enviroment.
The entertainment staff are top class and will make your holiday something to remember. If you see them practicing their dance routines you will appreciate how hard they work to put on spectacular evening dance shows.
We have stayed at the villa cojimar some five or six times we are lucky that we can have two holidays a year and because Villa Cojimar is well priced if you search hard enough. low season £450 a week £600 for two weeks high season £650 a week £950 two weeks these are per person.
Until Villa Cojimar becomes spanish owned and the overall service is improved I would not pay any more, but if you want peaceful paradise and poor service at a realistic price for long haul this is the place to go.
Please respect the staff when you go because they will do everything they can to help you enjoy your stay.
We love and miss them all!
