Nice modern apartments with lovely clean pool and great slide which the kids and adults alike love!! Pool bar and restaurant were nice but we found drinks expensive especially with two kids (lg coke £3.00, local beer £2.50, small slush £2.00). Club Candan is situated quite well with just a 10 min stroll to the beach. The independant entertainment team were nice, especiallu Dwayne. We changed to a ground floor room which suited us much better and it meant the kids could easily pop and have drinks from the stocked up fridge as the bar was eating away at our spending money very quickly during the days by the pool. The apartments themselves were quite spacious and the air con (free) was good but it is only in the bedrooms.

The Club candan is a brilliant all rounder. It is situated in a nice quiet part but if you want busy take a ten minute walk towards the harbour and you have got it. The mosque pray at 5am but to be honest we didnt hear it only throughout the day which wasnt a problem. The hotel is clean throughout and the maids who clean your room are friendly. The waiters at the club candan are brilliant. The rep who was there throughout the day Duane was brilliant with the children and also had a good laugh with the adults.

The rooms where kept clean on a daily basis and the beds were always nicely made. The maid was very pleasant and worked hard for the 2 weeks we stayed as we had 4 children in our room.
The hotel staff were really friendly, the bar staff always really nice and helpful. We also had tattoos whilst we stayed and the tattooist is great and comes up with fabulous designs and will design anything you ask for, his prices are good aswell.
The jeweller is a nice man not pushy at all, we traded some old gold in and got a ring which was well worth it, he will give you a good price for your old gold. We have already booked for may 09.

Loved this hotel, although there are a few bad points, there were mostly good and would definately return here.

So first the bad……the toilet roll thing is true, although forearmed is forewarned and we took our own!!

Maids only changed the sheets/towels the once whilst we were there and everyone is issued with a hand and bath towel.

Ask at reception for a spare key, you are only provided with one which means if someone goes out and has to take the key with them, you don’t have any power or air conditioning.

The salon, the guy who works there is a total rip off, whatever he tells you it will cost you for a shave/haircut it will be at least double. My husband had an argument with him about this to which they apologized as there were people in the shop waiting to spend money, my sons haircut should have been 15 lira and was 30, however, my husband gave him 20 and told him to chase himself. You can get a better shave just outside the hotel turn right and its on the corner, its only 7 lira, where as he charged 15 and don‘t let him touch your eyebrows, there were a few men got this done and had a permanent surprised look on their face.
The Turkish bath is lovely, but, be warned they will offer you packages where they tell you will be rubbed down with a cloth which has been used on 20-30 people before you, if you do not take the £25 package, however, this is not the off putting part, because you get a few extras for this, but, are then asked for extra for a hair mask which is ‘Dove Body Wash’ that they put in, extra for drinks and photos, the worst is yet to come, of which I am taking up with Thomson’s, the massage……do not expect to be relaxed during this, especially if you are female, it verged on assault, this was discussed by many round the pool area for those females who had the massage, got up and left, the men who do this are getting cheap thrills, the guy who did mine had his hands down my backside, down the sides of the front of my bikini in the groin area and kept trying to put his fingers in my mouth, disgusting, my daughter s experience was not quite as bad, however very inappropriate, and neither of us or anyone we spoke to would ever have the massage again.
Read all the reviews about the tips to waiting staff around the hotel and how the prices would get better, they didn’t and in the first 3 days we must have given each of the waiters around £15 each. If your Scottish and there is English football on, don’t expect to see it either even though they have 2 TV’s, they will show both English games.

Now the good, we had a fabulous holiday, the hotel was immaculate, the food was great a bit more expensive than outside but not much. We arrived at 1 am and they cooked for us and had the bar still open, the weather was fantastic, most of the bar staff were very nice and friendly, if they didn’t know your name, they knew your football team.
The rooms were great, and the pool area was fantastic, the slide gave endless hours of fun for adults and kids alike, we had no problems getting sun loungers etc although wouldn’t like to be there in height of season. The photographer does fabulous photos as well, we didn’t get any, but, the ones we did see were fabulous.
The jeweler there is so nice and not pushy at all, the jewelery is gorgeous and he will make anything you want, also it is so cheap whatever you get would cost you at least 3 times this in the UK and its all stamped.
Also a fabulous idea, in reception they have a tub beside the Thomson desk where people leave their unwanted sun creams/shampoo/ teabags etc when they leave, it’s a fantastic idea, especially if you run out of a particular factor.
Can I just mention ‘Summer Rain’ fabulous food, fabulous friendly staff, spent many a night here, they have free ps2 and internet for kids to enjoy. Go there and you won’t be disappointed, go out hotel, turn right, left at end of road and it’s the second restaurant you come to.

All in all this was fantastic holiday, heard some horror stories on the flight back about other hotels, but, I never met a single resident of Club Candan who wasn’t delighted with their holiday, we will definitely be returning next year.

This was our second visit to the Club Candan and certainly not our last. The rooms were spacious and well thought out,the swimming pool is the best one we have had since going abroad with plenty of sunbeds to go round.
All of the Bar staff and waiters were great and our good friends Idris,Serge,Carmel and Eric were still there from last year.
The only downside is the shop onsite was very expensive. The entertainments team were very good Duane and Kris we had fun with them every day doing various activities.
Well thanks again Club Candan and of course Thomsons for another great holiday.

What a fantastic holiday!
The accomodation was spotless and the satff were extremely helpful. we arrived at our hotel at 2am, tired and hungry, however the staff made us feel welcome and we were able to order a meal from the bar.

The rooms are spacious and very modern. There is air con in the main bedroom only and as we went in the height of summer 40 degrees plus, you need air con all over the apartment really, but you get used to it after a few days. We ate breakfast at the hotel every day and although it's slightly more exspensive than the neighbouring restuarants, its still value for money.

We had a turkish bath on our first day, which is a must for that all over tan, however, beware of the guy who runs the salon, they try to get you to have face packs and drinks etc, which could really bump up the cost! There is a jewellers on sight, and we bought a few items from them and were relly pleased with what we bought.

Sunbeds around the pool can be a bit of a problem, some days we had to be up at 6.30am to 'claim' a bed, although you are told that you are not allowed to do this. The pool is spotless and great for the kids.

The hotel is situated approx 10 mins walk from the main bars etc and boy what a pain when your walking down to the sea front, all the restaurant owners battle to get you in there and to be honest after a fews days it does start to get on your nerves a bit.

On the whole we found it a really cheap holiday, food is good value for money and every meal we had in Turkey was fantastic. In fact the dearest evening we had was when we went to the harbour for dinner, there was 7 of us the meal including drinks was only £65!!! Bargain!

Jewellery, leather and cotton goods are good buys. We purchased a large amount of 'snide' jackets, t shirts etc and they still look like new!

We would definately go back to the Club Candan. Excellent value for money and great for the kids

Can't understand if anyone leaves a negative report about Club Candan, staff are pleasant and never hassle you, same can be said about the guys who own the jewellers shop onsite, always pleasant and never try to get you in the shop.

Shop in reception is with most places dearer than outside. On the whole great place, clean and worth the money.

Location is fine, only 10 minute walk to beachfront and a street away from the weekly market. Rachael, Duane and Kris do a great job during the day trying to get people involved and only reason evening entertainment isn't the best is seemingly because not many stay at apartments at night.

Food was always good and prices on par with outside. Reception staff were always pleasant and helpful. Our room was always cleaned every day and bedding changed twice a week. Have booked to go back next year and looking forward to it.

Suzy the Thomson rep was there twice a day and very helpful (even helped out our friends who arrived on a late deal to crap accommodation and got them booked into Candan Apts round the corner).

Definitely worth a visit.

Our First impression of the Club Candan(pronounced Jandan)were WOW! We were checked into our room very quickly as it was 4.30am. our requests were also met which was quite nice(ground floor with pool view). The main room did not have air con this was only in the bedroom. So we had to hire a fan. The cleaners were appalling, We were given 1 toilet roll when we first arrived in all the 2 weeks of our stay the rest you had to buy yourself. our sheets were changed once in 2 weeks and towels were picked up from the floor and folded up for you to use again! I cannot fault the receptionists at all they were very helpful and attentive throughout our stay. I wish the same could be said for the rest of the staff in this hotel, Watch out for the photographer he is a sleazebag! every morning and night armed with a camera he is in your face taking photos,In my opinion I think this hotel seriously needs downgrading to a 3star it isn't worthy of the 4star rating at all. I definitely will not be returning to this hotel.

Although bedding and towels were to be changed twice a week they were only changed once during 14 days.

Hotel food tasted very good it was more expensive than outside the hotel and not a very wide choice.

Hotel next to a mosque and not on the dolmus route. Also I understand that the new building next door to the hotel will be a supermarket.

All bar staff were so welcoming and entertaining - the cleaners were not very welcoming.

Entertainment got better as the season got busy.

The hotel was brilliant. The kids loved the pool so did we. The food was great, we ate out a lot though as it was cheaper.

The kiddies club was excellant kept our little boy very entertained. The reps also kept our older boy entertained with karaoke, pool competitions, etc.

The staff were 100% at all times, so polite & helpfull, nothing was to much for them.

The maid service was great, came everyday to clean & even gave us clean towels before they were supposed to, they were lovely.

The only down side was the onsight shop it was very expensive but didnt mind in an emergency, also there are shops nearby where you can stock up.

There is a taxi service right outside they were great, very reasonable price too.

To sum up I would very highly recommend Club Candan, especially if you have children.

This hotel was brill, this was the first time in Turkey & would go back again & to this hotel.

Staff very nice & would do anything for you.

Food in complex very good.

Pool area excellent both for adults & children.

Staff in kids club very good & felt very confident to leave Ronan with them.

Hotel was very clean in all areas, rooms very big but could do with some wardrobe space but we can honestly say this was the only fault with the holiday. If you have booked this hotel you will not be disappointed in any way when you get there.

A big thank you to Eric & his staff in the bar area.

This hotel is one of the best we have stayed in. The rooms are lovely and spacious, modern and clean. I would say that there should be more draws and hanging space though.

The staff are all friendly especially the bar staff.the hotel had everything you want turkish baths, tattoo and piercing, gym, jewellery shop, a small basic supermarket and internet and playstation room for the kids.

The pool is fab with a brill slide and a fab kids pool with its own slide.the entertainment was good with plenty going on day or night.the food at the poolside was lovely with plenty to choose from.one of our party had his birthday there and the meal that the staff prepared was out of this world.

There is a market which is a block away its a must to visit as the locals are so funny and friendly.

Right outside the hotel there are taxis if you dont want to walk anywhere and the drivers are brilliant.
There is a mosque across the road but after a day or two you dont notice it.

There is a five minute walk to the beach and shops which is nice as you can go back to the quiet.

club candan- very clean spacious rooms little short on drawer space. Maid came in daily to make beds, empty bins and clean floors.

Staff very helpfull and friendly. Food in hotel good.

Entertainment basic but enjoyable. Turkish Night was well worth doing stacks of food each as much as you want, entertained all night including the bar staff joining in.

Turkish bath was very good if you'v enever done it I would recommed it. The staff were friendly without being over friendly if you get my drift.

Pool decent size with a seperate area for the little ones, Kept clean and tidy at all times appeared to be plenty of sunbeds, however might be a litle cramped height of season.

Hotel location good 10-15 min slow walk onto beach front. Big Market on a thursday in the next street, well worth a visit.

Don't forget to haggle! Plenty of shops around. Hotel has a very small supermarket. But big supermarket is just a short dolmus (bus) ride away. Taxi rank right outside hotel. One of the drivers we nick named Tom Jones as he always played his CD's in his car, always charged exactly what he said at start of journey giving local information at we drove around.

We are planning to visit again next year. If you want a good night out walk round the corner to a bar called Dominoes, follow the graveyard round to the ampitheatre bar is opposite.

Staff very friendly food excellent beer good. They all speak very good english.

Entertainment by English couple who did quiz nights sixties music nights etc. Highly recommend a visit.

We stayed at the club candan for a week beginning of Oct... the hotel and pool areas were kept meticulously clean, the food was pretty good, although we mostly ate out.

It's about a 10 min walk to the harbour, wether you turn left or right out of the hotel, think the best way is to turn right though!

There is a funny little taxi rank outside the hotel, theres a driver who calls himself Tom Jones, very friendly man... if you see him, tell him I said hi!

The hotel staff couldnt do enough for you, very friendly, the photographer got on our nerves a bit!

Weren't really around for the entertainment, did win on the bingo a few times tho....!!!

I would definatley go back to this hotel, will always stick to October though, because it was still so hot, couldn't have coped with it being any hotter!

Apartments-Very clean and quite spacious, air con is in the bedroom and is free of charge. Maids come in every day and empty bins etc. They have a toaster/grill and kettle and fridge and thats all. There isnt much cupboard space so we had to put some stuff in the kitchen drawers, but no real complaints about the apartments!

The pool is a good size with a smaller one for the little ones with some slides. The pool is kept really clean and so is the surrounding area. Plenty of sunbeds for everybody!

The food in the restaurant is OK nothing special! (keep away from the chicken pasta! My hubby had it and was ill, I also had it and couldnt eat it as it must have had a full jar of garlic salt in it!

Waiters and staff are nice and were lovely with my little boy, always wanting to kiss and cuddle him and playing with him!

The entertainment was OK, Drew was nice, his brother Anthony & Paul only really had time for the lads swigging lager all day or the young attractive single ladies! Entertainment was the usual bingo, turkish dance thing....etc.

There is a taxi rank(?) right outside of the hotel iterally over the road and it cost about £4 to get to the marina/beach.

All in all loved the holiday would go back any time (in fact I am pricing it now!)

We have just come back from the club Candan and they are the best apartments we have stayed in We had a 2 bedroom apartment and had a bathroom each as there was only two of us, the bedrooms are a good size there is a double wardrobe ouside the bedrooms.

The bar staff and waiters are all very friendly especially Oscar and Eric. The pool is lovely with a big slide and there are small slides for the very small children. The weekly turkish night is good.

If you are thinking of going, book it you won't find any better in Marmaris.

The Apartments are brand new and so obviously clean and tidy, they are unusual in that they are wallpapered and have skirting boards. The bedroom has twin beds a dressing table but no wardrobe space. The kitchen/living room has two easy operated bed setees, one is a double and a small wardrobe. There is a TV that you can get BBC1 and ITV1, a grill/toaster and double hot plate and a kettle. The bathroom has an excellent shower/bath and a hairdryer. The maid visits everyday and seems to start on the top floor, we were on the ground floor so she didnt come until 1pm.

The entertainment is a bit repetitive during the day. Drew is a good singer/entertainer, Anthony is a decent singer but Paul is a 'hanger on' and seems to have nothing but a big mouth!

The Mosque is next door and they prey 4 times a day but it is only 15mins or so and not a great problem.

The pool is great and caters for every age as well as being quite warm. The tattooist seemed very busy and he and my family appeared to be the only ones without one!!

Well! Where do I start! I went to Marmaris with my mom, sister, my aunt and uncle and three cousins!
When we got there, my first impression was.......wow!! We checked in, unkpacked, out to the bar and straight away the waiters were chatting to us. They were so unbelievably friendly!

Right, now down to the serious stuff. In terms of the cleanliness of the hotel. Unreal! Our apartment was cleaned everyday. Fantastic - Food great! Especially Turkish night.

Staff - where do I start? I know I shouldnt go naming people but these people deverve a big shout out! Oscar (bejasus), Cheeky Charlie, Ozzie, Itach (dont touch, very dangerous), Erisn, Eric, Jimmy, Tugay, Sercan, Hasan, other Hasan, Ozcan, Memet, Freeday, Haittee, Kemal and last but by no means least.........Idris (I see you baby)!! All of these guys made our first holiday in Turkey. Along with the entertainment staff, Lisa, Drew and Ant! My youngest cousin is five and they catered for kids her age as well as the adults.

Got a piercing at the tattoo parlour, very clean and safe. Also got my hair done at the Candan salon and it was better than any hair-do I've had at home.

We also enjoyed a day trip out on a jeep safari. It was great.

I would definitely recommend Club Candan to anyone - The best holiday ever!

We have just had a week at the Club Candan (pronounced Jandan by the locals), and for what we paid I can certainly say we were very impressed.

We travelled with Thomson on the day that the terror threat hit all of the airports and Thomson could not have been more helpful giving all passengers adequate meal vouchers at the airport and ensuring a member of staff was available to answer all queries.

We were tired when we arrived as we were travelling for 18 hours in total but we were very pleasantly suprised at the standard of accommodation we found.

The apartments are new, bed are comfy, air con works well, showers are power showers and bath is full sized. Storage for clothes is a little sparse but we just used the kitchen drawers and after a day you don't notice your taking your undies out of the pan drawer!!!!

TV had ITV and BBC so when our daughter had had enough sun she had something to watch in the room.

We did not have a poolside room which we thought we were getting but to be honest we were better off at the back of the apartment block as the entertainment some evenings was quite loud and I would imagine with small children it could cause some sleep issues. We are not really a 'holiday club' kind of family but if your into bingo, cabaret, water polo etc... there is plenty to do but conversely you can lounge by the pool most of the day undisturbed.

We had the hotel turkish bath on the first day which was £15 each with massage. Was a great experience but the oil massage was a bit feable and I think we could have probably got the bath and massage cheaper but the facilities were spotlessly clean, staff were helpful and all round it was a good laugh.

Drinks at the bar are a bit expensive compared to the harbour and the food is a bit 'fast foodish' but there are loadsa places to eat near to the hotel and there is always a taxi outside you can catch to take you to the harbour for a couple of quid.

We took the Thomson last day 'check out trip' to Dalyan with Turtle beach and mud bath included. About £80 for the three of us but this included bus, excellent guide, food, boat ttip, mud bath, check out hotel (which was VERY basic but adequate for a few hours), evening meal which was lovely and tranfer to airport. Sounds quite expensive but certainly made the end of our holiday worthwhile and not the usual wasted last day.

Marmaris itself is a bit scary if it's your first visit. Luckily we were with friends who have been several times before. The locals are a bit pushy trying to get you into their restaurants and shops but be polite, say no thanks and they are very respectful. We spoke to a few locals who said they found some nationalities very rude telling them to ---- when all the Turkish want you to do is have a joke with them. say no if necessary and be polite. Only thing we would say DO NOT DO is go into the bazaar jewellery shops. They are very very pushy, bit like timeshare sellers, hard sell and hard to get out of shop. Jewellery is fab but try shops on the street not in the bazaar and be very clear about saying no..... or offer half what they ask!!!

We bought t shirts, few watches, bit of leather etc... and they were good value but don't rush into the first thing you see, shop around for a few days or you will get conned.

Watersports are cheap and we would recommend Crazy Sports opposite solaris shopping centre. Fixed prices, safety aware and good equipment.

In all we had a great week, hired jeeps, rode scooters, did loadsa watersports, ate and drank well and had fun with the locals. Would definetley go back and hope you enjoy your stay as much as we did..........

We arrived at 1am to find they were still serving meals which was nice after our long day.

The room was large and smartly furnished obviously everything new beds were a little firm but had no problems sleeping.

You have everthing on hotel premises from hairdressers to tattoo/piercing turkish bath to jewellers.

Everyone at the hotel is very friendly but they do work really long hours in the bar/restaurant.

This is the first time we have visited Turkey & we were extremely impressed at the standards provided in this hotel., as well as the friendliness of the Turkish people. The hotel is 'spotless' & the rooms cleaned to a high standard daily.

Ensure you try the Turkish Baths within the hotel, it is true what they say - Your tan does last longer.

The hairdresser within the hotel provides great value for money & the Turkish Shave is not to be missed, for the men it is relaxing, for the women it is very entertaining. Ladies make sure you go along for a good laugh!!!!!

The staff were really friendly & done everything they could to ensure we enjoyed our holiday. Our thanks go all the staff, especially Oscar, Charlie & Eric for all their help & advice throughout our 2 week stay with them.

The food & drink in the hotel is excellent & the cost is on a par with all the other restaurants within the resort.

The hotel is only 5 minutes walking distance from the beach & buzz of the resort as well as only being 2 minutes from the local Thursday Market.

The entertainment within the hotel is good, but ensure you visit other bars within the resort to get a feel for the different atmospheres.

Watch out for the photographer, he was in my opinion taking inappropriate photographs of my 16 year old daughter, despite having been asked on several occassions not to take photographs (the lower half of her body only) He then proceeded to make comments to my daughter on other peoples photographs which were offensive. He eventually stopped taking photographs of my daughter, but only after I raised this with the management & Thomsons rep.

The Club Candan is the best hotel I have ever stayed in after going abroad on holiday for 20 years. The cleanliness was superb as was the food. The complex is new and superbly designed from the reception to the bedrooms and the fantastic pool.

To me the location is great because it is close enough to the centre to walk but doesnt feel like your right on top of everything.

The staff made our holiday they were magnificent, nothing was too much trouble and always with a smile and a genuine interest in how we were doing.

It seems unfair to single out individuals but special mention must go to Oscar who looked after us for the two weeks he is one of the hotels greatest assets and a real gentlement simply the best at is his job and a friend. Two others who deserve special mention are Ozzie for his fun and style and the man who constantly takes pictures of everyone Jay Zee what a legend never without a smile really nice bloke.

The entertainment is of course subjective but from our families point of view inappropiate for a family hotel. The leader a boorish, arrogant character named Drew should be a 18/30 rep because thats his style and mentality im afraid loud rap music with very offensive swearing lewd comments v.funny not.

Would definately visit Club Candan again probably the best holiday ive ever had anyone whos booked your in for a real treat !!!!

When we arrived at the Club Candan (pronounced Jandan)we were very impressed, the layout was brilliant.

From the moment we arrived we were made to feel very welcome, all of the staff were very cheerful and friendly i.e. Oscar Itouch Hassan and the rest of the waiters, the bar staff were the same as the waiters i.e. Serge Edress Mimett they they just smiled all day long.

The entertainment team was brilliant Drew Anthony and Lisa (who named me her Teddy Bear)bless her worked their socks all the time they were on site, for our family the best show of the fortnight was the Blues Brothers tribute show with Drew and Anthony (not to be missed)it was fantastic, well done lads.

The hotel itself has been very well thought out the rooms were spacious although could have done with more space to hang clothes up, the swimming pool was great as well you could either have fun on the big slide have a swim or just chill out on one of the very comfy sun beds.
Well thanks too all at the Club Jandan see you all next year.

PS well done Thomson Holidays

Club Candan is a newly built hotel so we didn't now what to expect. We arrived late at night and were amazed at the hotel. It is even better in the daytime. The pool is a nice size with a water slide. The kids pool also has slides.

The hotel location is great, it's not to far from the harbour and its situated of the main road which is great as it was very quite at night. Security guards are also there at night too.

The hotel was very clean, housekeeping was very good, but their a bit mean when it comes to toilet roll,we were only there for 1 week and we got 1 roll, we had to buy them for the rest of the holiday.

We didn't stay for the entertainment but during the day there play water polo, killer pool and kids club. Hotel staff are very friendly.

The apartments were very good standard & reception staff were very helpful. We had a couple of mishaps (breakages) & each time the staff were brilliant.

We kept the room on until 6pm at a charge of £20, well worth it.The location is good as its not to far to walk to either Marmaris harbour, Armatulan, etc.So it was up to you whether you had a noisey night or a relativly quiete one.

The downside of these apartments for us was, the noise from the entertainment.Loud is an understatement & it went on from 10:00am until midnight.
It all depends what you want from an holiday & we found this wasn't the place where we could relax. We prefer after an evening out, to sit on the balcony listening to music having a glass (or 2) of wine & this wasn't possible. With the balcony doors closed,TV on loud the Compare & acts could still be heard.

However, it is a perfect family hotel. The only problem we had with children was one particular family, where the kids had No respect for other guests. They would bang on the door & if there was no response, kick it (not sure who's room, poss parents.)But we wouldn't want anyone to think that all the children were like this, as other children were just enjoying hols.

Wouldn't return to these apartments because of noise & also maid service, towels only changed once, other days just bins emptied.

Took a late booking arrived at 1am in morning first time in Turkey so didn't know what to expect. Was really surprised at the quality of the accommodation, really helpful staff took our luggage as soon as we got off the bus and took it to our rooms.

Bar and restuarant was still open so you could still have a drink which we did until 3am. Good size rooms nice to have TV with British channels BBC1 and ITV3, airconditioning in bedroom fab but could do with it in lounge area. Lovely bathroom well impressed with accommodation.

We got a last minute deal to Club Candan and only had a computerised image to judge on, but we took a gamble and it paid off.

The hotel itself is excellent. Very, very clean, a really nice layout, with friendly staff.

Because we were a couple I dont think they knew what kind of room to give us so we ended up with a big corner apartment, with a twin room, double room, lounge and balcony! An advantage of being a gay couple! lol

The pool is excellent. Very clean, plenty of sunbeds (although these take a bit of working out!) and an awesome big slide! Kids pool good too..... although you get a bit of spray from this pool with the wind!

Didnt find it overly expensive in all fairness, have seen worse. Staff in bar are very friendly. Didnt really get invloved with the reps but they seemed to be providing alot of entertainment, bingo every night etc during Happy Hour.

Trips through Thomson were very good. Although there is a turkish bath in the hotel, we went to the one through Thomson which was EXCELENT. A beautiful building, with a great service. They make you pay a few extras when you get there, but we had a sauna, steam, 20 min massage, face pack, jacuzzi etc for about £20 each, and it lasted about 2 hours. Highly recommended.

Also went on chillout cruise which was good, nice food and friendly staff, although quite a long transfer when picking everyone up.

On the last day (thursday) as you have to check out by 12, they offer a trip to Daylan with a room to shower and eat after before he airport. This day was brilliant. You get a trip on a boat down the river loking at ancient tombs etc, and get an hour doing a proper natural mudbath and soak in natural spring. Very funny, and good for the skin! Then time on the beach, and nice food provided at lunch and dinner. Hotel to change in is basic but at least its a shower before you fly home. This trip is recommended too.

Finally (god we did alot of trips) The Talk Of The Town drag show is very funny, and a good night out. Family orientated but a good laugh, although food isnt brillaint, but not bad.

All in all a brilliant holiday, in a nice hotel. Marmaris is a bit "pushy" but you learn to just be rude and say no to people!

Enjoy Turkey!

This hotel was excellent. The staff especially Charlie, Oscar and Idris were so friendly. Entertainment was ok will get better as the season progresses but enjoyed water polo and killer pool with Drew,Lisa and Paul.

My husband and our friend Andrew had more fun on the water slide than the children. Had a tattoo at the hotel very clean and good price and also bought jewellry and a watch at the hotel excellent prices compared with back home.

I would definitely go back again even though there is a mosque right next door which goes off at 4.40am every day you don't notice it after the first few days.

Highly recommended for families and couples.

Go to the candan, it is spotless. You can't fault it everyone is so helpful. The bar staff including Charlie, Oscar, Idris and all the others are great.

Try a Turkish bath with Marti and Eric what an experience I won't forget it and it does give you a better tan.

If you get hassle on the streets tell them you are all inclusive it worked for us.

Back to the Candan you will love Drew, Lisa and paul the entertainment they are fab!! I had a tattoo in the hotel and had no trouble and bought a chain off pablo the jeweller and it has not gone black yet!!

The pool is cleaned every day(pool cleaner looks like 70's porn star!!

You will have a great time if you stay in the Club Candan.

Club Candan is a lovely hotel/appartments - the main pool is lovely, with a big water slide at one end and there is a shallow side to the main with a small dividing wall(which is handy to sit on), whilst the baby pool is close to the waterslide.

Enough room to play water polo at one end and still have a more than enough room at the other.

The restaurant and bar is right beside the swimming area. We never had a bad meal and the service was great and always served with a smile. We discovered that is was cheaper to stay in the hotel and eat rather go out and have the bother of running the 'no hassle' gauntlet, closer to the beach.(We turned left then right and found it was much quietier going past the Thursday Market down to the beach.)

One of the cleanest hotels we've visited. Not one bug! For the two whole weeks! I was well impressed. The cleaner also did a great job of keeping the apartment tidy and clean.

Entertainment was good but the Turkish Night with Buffet seemed great value for money(£8). We didn't get a chance to go as we had booked ourselves on trips on those days - but the food looked brill. They had things to do in the afternoon and evenings for all ages and the kids too.

We throughly enjoyed ourselves to the utmost. I would recommend Club Candan to anyone - it is that good.
Verdict: WELL IMPRESSED

We were concerned about going to a hotel for which we had only seen a computer generated photograph in the Thomson Brochure, but there was nothing to worry about at all.

This hotel is very modern and stylish - none of the old rickety wooden furniture and dodgy floral bedspreads I have been used to before in Turkey, more like Ikea type stuff. The rooms are a very good size, with a comfy sofa and arm chair and the balcony is also a very good size. Goodair conditioning, but only a unit in the bedroom so lounge is hot.

The kitchen was very well equipped, although we didn't actually bother cooking in there and just ate out.The bathroom was lovely with chrome fittings and a good powerful shower. The weird thing is though you have to buy your own toilet roll from the hotel shop!

The pool is really well designed - instead of sloping to a shallow end, there is a shallow side of the pool all the way along the length so if you don't really want to go in the deeper water you are not confirmed to just being at one end of the pool. When I read that the hotel had a water slide, I did start to think that maybe this was a hotel for kids and not really for a relaxing break for a couple, but it was actually quite good fun and it was mainly adults that used it! We went out of the school holidays time and there were not really that many kids about, so it was fine.

The location is also just right, it is about a 10 minute walk out of town, all flat. When you get to the town you really do appreciate how nice it is to be a couple of minutes away from it all, as Marmaris is really busy and noisy. We walked in to town and back every night. Although we got a taxi to the Marina area once but then realised it's not actually much further, so we walked there after that.

The staff were good, although we never really need them for anything as we didn't have any problems.

As for entertainment, this was not really our thing, but is well put on for anyone who spends their evenings at the hotel.

In all the hotel is great, very clean, modern and cannot be faulted at all. We were also very lucky that our room requests, i.e pool view, high floor, double bed - were all fulfilled so it's definitely worth asking your travel agent to request the things you want.

Would also recommend Call Aysha and Uno Momento restaurants in Marmaris and Oh Yes restaurant for huge fresh juices!

Enjoy your stay.

We transferred to Club Candan by taxi which cost us 100 YTL (£37). The prices are now marked up on a board at Dalaman Airport and didnt seem willing to budge on this price. When we booked the holiday Thomsons wanted £15 per person. (for the 4 of us this would have been £60) Although this would have been return we think £37 is well worth it as the transfer can take up to 4 hours!! The taxi took 1hr 15 mins.

We managed to get the return taxi for 80YTL.

We arrived at midnight and our impressions of Club Candan were very impressive although bit disappointed that the 3rd/4th beds werent made up & no bedding left for us. This was sorted out quickly though. Think they could also do with a microwave.

We also had a leak from the room aboves bath water waste pipe which was dripping into our bath. It took about 3 nights for it to be sorted (once we got the message through to the maintenance guy that it was coming from the room above).

The swimming pool was lovely. Very clean. Great slide. The sun beds are packed in & would suggest getting up early (about 8am) to get a bed as people are reserving them the night before!!!

There was a childrens club which ran twice a day 10am-12pm & 4pm-6pm. Our children didnt use it so not sure how good it is. Monday is there day off.
Daily entertainment was arranged such as Pool Competition, Aqua Aerobics, Water Polo, other than the kids club there wasnt much going on around the pool for children). You will also get to learn the dance to Rolf Harris song !!

Our children were disappointed there was no mini disco.

We had a room at the back which had a balcony at the front & the back. We didnt have a pool view. We were overlooking Marmaris indoor market which was the next block down. Only about 1-2 minutes walk away.
My husband went to the market at 7.30am on his way to put the towels out around the pool. It was quiet which is probably the best time to go as it gets very busy!!

We walked most evenings to the centre & Marina which with 2 children took about 10-15 minutes (although we did keep getting lost). Taxi to the centre cost 7YTL/£2.80. We would definately recommed restaurants along the beach called 'Call Aysha' who has a lovely desert menu & 'Natalies' if you like steak or can handle a 32oz T-Bone!! Meals were costing the 4 of us about 70YTL/£25 including Turkish Naan bread with garlic butter, yogurt dips, main meals & couple drinks each.
You can also get childrens meals for about 50p or sometimes free!

You can catch a Dolmus to Icemler which is a smaller quieter resort than Marmaris. Dolmus cost 1.50 YTL each.

We would definately recommend these apartments.

Club Candan was definitely a very pleasant surprise - the holiday was booked from an artists impression and luckily it was better than that.

The complex was excellent - nothing was too much trouble - the staff were very friendly and service was excellent.

The room were well equipped and smart but air con could have been in the lounge as well as the children were very hot during the night. The only thing that I was a little annoyed with at first was the fact that the mosque called Muslims to prayer every 4 hours or so with a calling at 5.00am which scared the life out of us - but you soon got used to it and we even found it quite entertaining!

The location was a little residential but maybe a good thing as it was quiet. Room was overlooking the pool and we could not fault the hotel - my husband had the Turkish bath/masssage/shave and his back problem disappeared!

Definitely going back next year and taking my family as well. Don't pack too many clothes as the 'moody' gear is excellent I will be taking an empty case next year.

Roll on next May!

We arrived on 29th of May 2006 for a one week stay after a late night flight from Glasgow

The bar was still open and fully manned at about 1am so we had a couple of drinks before retiring to bed.

The staff were extremely friendly and could not do enough for you.

The rooms were the best i had ever seen in Turkey, bearing in mind that this was our eighth visit to Turkey.

We were situated in a room at the back of the hotel which overlooked another that was in its final stages of construction, so the sound of drills and sawing was a common sound during the day.

The bar and food prices were very very very expensive, so we spent most of our time in a small cafe / bar a short walk from the hotel.

Tanzas the large supermarket in Marmaris was only about ten minutes walk away so we got most of our bottles of refreshments and biscuits etc from there.

The pool area and large water slide were brilliant.

We found the hotel reception great for changing our english pounds to Lira. The exchange rate was the best to be found and they did not charge commission.

Marmaris is a great place with hundreds of restaraunts and bars, also take the local Dolbus to icmeler for just 1.5 Lira (about 45p) - well worth a visit

I would recommend Club Candan to anyone looking for a great hotel, but try not to use the bar there too much as your money will quickly disappear.

4 adults went to Club Candan (pronounced Jandan) on 11th May for 2 weeks. Excellent hotel.

Because it was not full, we were given an upgrade at very little cost and found everything to be spot on. The Manager, Tugood, could not do enough to make you welcome. Got to mention Oscar and Charlie in the restaurant and Ozcan and Idris behind the bar. All were absolutely brilliant.

Drew, the entertainment guy from Fantasia was also good and very funny but the rest of the Funtasia crew were not up to much. Beware, Drew will rope you in to Water Polo and the rules are "there are no rules". Anything goes, good laugh.

Pool and slide superb and the children's section looked good even though we didn't use it.

Well worth having a Turkish bath at the hotel. Brilliant holiday had by us all.

Found this hotel to be one of the best we have ever stayed at,being only opened two weeks prior to arrival.

Everything was to our satisfaction and never heard anything but great comments from other hotel guests.

Great outdoor bar area with plenty of shade and an excellent large pool with waterslide (approx 20 metres).seperate shallow kids pool with smaller slides, bouncy castle, pool tables, table football, air hockey, dart board, table tennis, plenty sunbeds with parasols etc.meals and snacks available till late and bar open till very late.

Outdoor stage where nightly entertainment is carried out (also bingo each night...but is made to be really funny by "pru" the guy who does most of the entertainment day and night and is a great laugh).

Rooms are of highest quality, with plenty of space.
Cooking facilities fairly good but could do with a toaster and safer tin opener (hospital not too far away). Sauna / gym in basement, onsite resident photographer who takes your picture all day long.

Staff could not do more for you and are forever happy and nothing is ever a problem. Drinks at the bar are dearer than outside (4.5 tl for large beer..outside usually 3.0 tl but some places pint 2.5 tl....approx 85 pence)loaf of bread in onsite supermarket 30 cents (10 pence).

Thursday market 2 minutes walk away.
