Villa Cojimar is a Cuban-style hotel composed of bungalow type rooms, set in isolation on a quiet beachfront location. This is a hotel with a relaxed ambiance to suit those seeking a peaceful holiday away from it all. On the stretch of fine white-sand beach of Cayo Guillermo, to the north of Ciego de Avila province, of easy access by land through a causeway, 20 km. away from the Cayo Coco airport. The oldest of the four Cayo Guillermo hotels (built in 1992), this Gran Caribe hotel is one of the cheapest options on the cays, and the rooms are being remodeled.

Well the accommodation is a bungalow type building but they are badly in need of refurbishment. I booked the holiday, unknowingly paying a discounted price, to be placed into an unfurnished room. Beware!.

The toilet didn't flush and the room was falling to bits. We were eventually moved to another unfurnished room (no better) but at least the toilet flushed. To be honest the furbished rooms were no better.

The food was dreadful. The children lived off pizza and eventually so did I.

The cleanliness of the hotel was great but the rooms were not. Everyone wants tipping or your room is not cleaned very well.

The only good point of this hotel was the entertainment. The staff were fantastic and the kids loved each and everyone of them. To be completely honest if it wasn't for the staff we would have had a holiday nightmare. I would not visit this hotel or resort again due to the accommodation.
