Hotel: Coral Beach- Rotana Montazah
Time of year- July 2006
Climate- Very very Hot! Around 40-47 each day!
A good flight out, a very quick transfer through the airport and to the hotel. We were in our hotel within 30 minutes of landing!
Hotel positives- The hotel was in a perfect location and the standard of the hotel was defiantly a 4* The room was ok with a private patio (To hang wet swim wear etc) and was cleaned daily. For the little time we spent in their it was more then adequate.
The swimming pool was very nice- Very large and in some areas deep for diving. There were plenty of sunbeds, umbrellas for all (Very nice wooden ones) Even if you turned up at 3pm there was plenty of space...
The food was buffet style and the choice was vast, always clean and tidy with a good service.
The sea/beach was at the bottom of the hotel- Approximately a 10 minute walk and you were in the sea. The snorkeling was excellent (As good as the Maldives) plenty of fish and crystal clear water. All in all a good hotel with a good location and surroundings.
Hotel negatives- In 2 weeks we were the only English people there!! There were 100's of Italians and they did not make us welcome - There stared at us a lot and did not smile once! Also the waiters and male staff would gaze at all of the women- I read comments on 'Holidays uncovered' etc warning me of this but we continued to go. I was made to feel uncomfortable everywhere I went- Even when I was with my husband (Holding hands etc) They didn't care and continued to look and stare.
The bar staff were friendly but didn't ever seem to be there- We found ourselves buying drinks in bulk!
I don't mean to give this hotel a bad vibe but what I would say is do not go there is you are a single women and make sure you pack a lot of linen trousers etc to try and cover up if you take offence easy. I am a model/dancer and are used to people staring- But I didn't like them looking at me out there.
Pyramid's
What can I say? We had the option to travel by coach- 13 hours there & 13 hours back ! (£70 each) or by plane 1 hour there & 1 hour back! (£170 each) We decided to fly- Make sure you take a fan as the plane doesn't have air conditioning! This visit was 100% worth while! We loved every minute of it.. We saw the Pyramids, The famous museum, the market and lots more- A very long day but a must.
Food- Nammah Bay
Tandoori Indian Restaurant- Patio of Camel Hotel. Excellent service, great location but it didn't beat an English curry!
Pomodoro Restaurant- Patio of Camel Hotel. Bar far one of the best restaurant's I have eaten in. Amazing fish food, great service and air conditioning! A must.
Dananeer By Pasha. A great place to eat- Another must!
Diving
Good diving but the Red Sea is just like the Mastercard advert- It is full of divers! My husband and I were spoiled last year with the Maldives so nothing will compare to that. However the waters clarity was 100% amazing and the variety of fish was vast.. We just felt it was a little spoiled by the amount of divers out there. Two of our fav's:
Shark & Yolanda Reef
Jackson & Woodhouse- Large Tuna & some Sharks
Egypt was a nice country and had a lot to offer. I would say go and experience it but read feedback and make a choice based on that.

Official opening in spring 2006 the spa area will be completed then.
Plenty of beds at large pool area, also shuttle bus provided for Namma bay.
The hotel is unconventional to say the least pastel colours in the bedrooms and in the restaurants, main reception areas!
The staff are the most friendliest in the world, always wishing you a great day or time and are always on hand if you require anything!!
