Fabulous beach with amazing snorkeling, the marine life is breathtaking. Most staff very obliging, genuinely friendly. If going back to Sharm in the future I would definitely go back here.

| said: Just back yesterday, weather perfect, hotel nearly, and here's why...
The Good
Cleanliness (obsessive in some cases), rooms (family rooms have 2 bathrooms), swimming pools (but can't work out why they are separated by a 1 mtr channel), The food (although repetative, quality is very good), staff (most are there to help and will do anything they can, there are some surly one though!)
The Bad
Sunbeds!! Be prepared for an early morning, the pool gates open at 07:30, most sunbeds are taken by 07:45 (why they don't allocate beds to the rooms is beyond me! Reception, not the quickest, especially at busy check in / out periods
The Ugly
the constant pestering to take the hidden extras like the freshly squeezed orange juice at breakfast, the special theme nights, the watermelon on the beach = all conveniently charged to your room. Baron Palms are still coming to terms with the all inclusive thing and until they do, they won't reach their true potential.
Hope it helps (pm me for more info if needed)

| said: The hotel had 3 restaurants. All were good but we preferred the Paradise (by the pool) as you were waiter served with a varied menu. It was sometimes nice to go to the Buffet Restaurant to get cool.
Hotel was right on the beach but not suitable for swimming(to shallow)unless you used the jetty for snorkelling. Great fish.
The hotel was immaculately clean and there were always workers around decorating and keeping the hotel in tip top order.
All the staff were polite and attentive but it probably helps to give them a tip as we did but they were worth it.
The biggest let down was the entertainment which was very poor. They tried hard but oh dear!!!!!!

| said: This was our second visit to Baron Palms and will not be our last. As usual the hotel was spotlessly clean and rooms were cleaned thoroughly daily, with clean sheets and towels.
The choice of food was excellent and vegetarians would not have a problem here. Food in the pool bar and the beach bar was good and we enjoyed our meal at the Egyptian restaurant.
The hotel is out on a limb but we would not wish to be any nearer to Naama Bay and you can get there easily by taxi if you wish.
All the hotel staff from front of house to cleaners always did their best for us. The friendliness of the staff is a major item of your enjoyment of this holiday.
We had no problems with the all inclusive only branded drinks were extra and you could have as much or as little as you wanted.
Swimming in the heated pool was enjoyable and there were plenty of fish on the reef when you swam in the sea which was warm enough to swim without wet suit.
Must mention the Bedouin supper camel ride and star watching trip an experience not to be missed.

| said: Haiving read reviews both here and on other websites there were plus's & minus's. We needn't have feared, all in all we have just returned last night from a great holiday. The hotel is out of Sharm that suited us as going into the town was a frenzy and we were glad to be away from it all. The staff, cleanliness, pool, beach etc couldn't be faulted. Thanks for Wael at the pool bar, Mohammed & Mahmood who worked with him and all of the other staff who made us more than welcome. you do not have to pay for juice of a morning in the restaurant as previous, they have two dispensers one with fresh orange also pineapple. People say the food is repettitive but having been at other all inc resorts what more do people think you can do with chicken, beef and veal etc, they ony have so many varieties, and we couldn't fault anything every night a different theme. Only disappointment was the fish night at the pool bar, don't bother I don't eat fish but my alternative of chicken was better than my husbands meal he was ver disappointed. The Conrad Hotel next door, was blasting music all day, the Baron Palms is a quieter break which is what we needed after working hard all year. Not in your face although the entertainment coud do with geeing up a bit. All in all god holiday, would we return mot definitely.

| said: We spent a week at the Baron Palms Resort and I have to say it is not 5 star. We would say 4 star is the correct rating for this hotel.
The food was good and plenty of it but not much variation. We ate in the Tiran restaurant in the evening and occasionally at the Paradise restaurant by the pool during the daytime. I like a glass of red wine but could not drink the wine they served - it was truly awful. However I did get a taste for the local beer. You have to ask for bottled water in the restaurant but they will quite happily bring it to you. At breakfast they will try to sell you the fresh orange juice (it is very nice but it will cost you an extra 15 egyptian pounds).
The hotel is very clean, they are always polishing and sweeping. The gardens are immaculate. To get to the beach you have to run the gauntlet of the Baron shopping arcade - it's best to ignore them, they are very very pushy if you show any interest. I went into one shop to look at some cheap jewellery and found it difficult to escape. He was very off it with me when I said I wanted to think about it first. Even after being on the beach for several hours after this, he was waiting on our return and started shouting after me!
Location is not brilliant unless you want to just spend time by the pool and the beach but it is convenient for the airport. No noise at all from planes flying in or out which is a good thing. There is a free shuttle bus which leaves at 11.00am returning 1.00pm, after that you have to pay but it's not expensive.
The room cleaning and waiting staff were excellent, very friendly, always smiling and genuinely want to talk to you. I practised my few words of Arabic and it went down very well. The only fault we had with the staff was with the reception staff, especially one guy called Mohammed. He was most unhelpful and difficult to deal with. We wanted to book a late check out room and he told us we could not do this until 10.00am of the morning of departure which was 12.00 from the room. We tried to explain that we needed to know if the room would be available so we could plan whether we had to pack, etc or not. In the end our Thomson rep, Wendy (who was excellent) managed to sort it out for us.
We didn't bother with the entertainment - it wasn't to our taste but the animation team tried their hardest and were friendly enough.
All in all I think we would not visit this hotel again - it wasn't particularly cheap and we have stayed in much better hotels in Egypt for the same money.

We were hassled by the pool for massage etc and he was actually very rude when we refused to pay the prices he wanted, also had to stop walking down to the beach to avoid constant harassment from shopkeepers at the shop parade, having been locked in by one of them for an hour one night.
Great holiday if you don't want any decent entertainment and like to be in bed by 10, also beware as some of the bars not included in the all inclusive. Won't be rushing back, actually couldn't wait to get home!

| said: We have just returned from 11 nights in the Baron Palm resort. When reading the reviews on here before we travelled, we were confused to see high scores overall but several negative feedbacks within different reviews.
Now that we have been there and experienced it ourselves, we can understand why. The hotel itself was very clean and the staff was constantly cleaning and decorating. The weather was fantastic for all 11 days we were there and is a big selling point if you are thinking of going to Egypt for winter sun. The food was a bit of a let down, they had different themes each evening in the main buffet restaurant but it seemed to be the same food every evening with not much variety. You can pay a supplement and eat in the Italian or Indian restaurant which we did and the food there was great. In the other two restaurants which were part of the all inclusive but had to book for, the food was nice but the portions seemed small. Be careful of the staff offering you drinks (alcohol in buffet on trolley and fresh juices round the pool/breakfast) these cost extra but they fail to tell you this! Can be hard to relax around the pool as staff trying to sell or promote services. As part of the hotels ongoing upkeep of the hotel, they add finishing touches to the paintwork but fail to put up wet paint signs so be careful!
Though several negative comments we would return to this hotel. On the resort there are several shops selling souvenirs etc. Its best to ignore the men out the front trying to get you in there shops, that way they don't know you are English and cannot keep talking to you in English so will give up talking to you. They also have pleasure in being sarcastic e.g our friend has little ear lobes and they kept on about it!

| said: We have had a two week stay at the Baron Palms hotel and cannot praise it highly enough.
The cleanliness of this hotel and the staff employed there are brilliant. Nothing is too much trouble. As my husband and I are beach lovers we found the beach attendant really good. He would put towels on the beds ready for us each day.
The food was very variable with certain theme nights. In the evening there was a choice of eating in the main dining area or making a reservation at the Egyptian restaurant or the pool bar, both having good food as well.
The evening entertainment was a bit lacking in variety. A couple of different live music acts, but no karaoke or quizzes.
At the start of our holiday there were quite a few Russians in the hotel. It was best not to be in the dining room when they were as there was no such thing as queing for them, they just barged in. Towards the end of our holiday there were a lot of Brits there.
Will most definitely visit this hotel again.

| said: First impressions can be deceiving, this hotel has all the
serenity the holiday company predicted, on provision your don’t scratch the surface.
Could not fault the welcome or the efficiency of the door staff , our luggage was in the room by the time we signed in and were shown to it.
The cleanliness of the room and the maintenance during our stay was what I expecte, only had one minor fault a noisy fridge which we solved by switching it off at night.
We went to relax and the percentage of our time we were allowed to, but every day as you were lying at the poolside you were hassled by a team of men from the massage rooms touting for business.
Next the pools looked great but were unusable due to the lack of heating, if you went in, you were chilled to the bone. The word went around that the heating had failed, but wasn't that convenient it was at that time they decided to paint the water feature which the heated water was pumped over. I do not have a handle on my back therefore do not expect to be treated like a mug, honesty is always the best policy and had the hotel or the holiday company apologised for the inconvenience I would have respected them better.
The variety of food on the menu was what I expected for a 5star hotel and they done a weekly rotation of menus.
Once again they failed to maintain standards, the waiters were over zealous and were to quick to clear the tables.
Five times while we were there when we went to get our next course we came back to find our table had been cleared and was being set for the next guests. Worse than this they seem to think its part of the holiday package that you should get an upset stomach, the main meal in the evening is served from 6.30pm till 10.00pm. If you don't get in early don't expect your food to be served at the temperature required. Several times over the holiday we were not in the dining area until late, taking what should have been hot food only to find it look warm.
All the time I was there I never once seen a member of the kitchen staff going round the cabinets with a temperature gauge and probe checking that the food being served had not fallen below the minimal temperature required.
Finally I reported faulty external electrical wiring to the hotel staff, but once again I was ignored, external floodlighting which was soaked every day by the sprinkler system had wiring jointed with insulating tape. All the cleaning equipment on site was the same vacuums, buffers and scrubber driers all had there fare share of insulating tape stuck to the cables.
Some unlucky person is going to be seriously injured here if standards are not maintained as we would expect in the UK and EEC.
All in all this hotel has the makings of a 5 star establishment but the internal failings I highlighted , I would only rate it as three.

The cleanliness of the hotel was excellent and was constantly being cleaned, everywhere you went there was always someone cleaning.

Whether you just want to chill out by the pool or do lots of activities, the baron is the perfect place to return to. My son and I did the Open Water course with Emperor divers in Naama and after a hard days teaching it was lovely to return to the tranquility of the Baron.
The beach and jetty are a short walk from the hotel and a must to visit. The snorkelling from the hotel jetty is by far the best of any of the surrounding hotels, I would not have believed the sheer volume and variety of fish present if I had not seen it.
I can do nothing but praise this hotel and will be returning to it the next time I come to Egypt.

The accommodation is excellent, very comfortable rooms, and spacious public areas.
The food was plentiful, always hot and very varied. Waiters were very attentive and welcoming.
The hotel was very clean - staff were always busy, mopping, brushing and dusting!!!
The hotel is just a short stroll to the beach, and the facilities there are great - cold flannels being handed out on very hot days!!. The beach cafe serves hot and cold drinks, and snacks.
The staff were brilliant - nothing was too much trouble, always smiling and friendly - they made us feel very special.
We are going again next year for our silver wedding anniversary because it is everything we want and more !!! All the managers are very approachable, and welcome the opportunity to chat to guests and make sure that everything is Ok. This hotel is definitely to be recommended.

| said: The airport was what we had been told, the Egyptian porters do take your case off the conveyor then hold their hand out for a tip to get it back, just say no money and they back down.
Arrived at the hotel and was greeted by a cool drink and the Thompson rep. The cases were taken to the rooms by the bell boy and we followed. We all thought the rooms where excellent and the place was spotless.
The staff at the hotel work really hard to make you feel special, believe it or not the waiters work a 400 hour month and get £30 a months wages nett, then they go home for a week and come back to work another month. OK so they ask you to come in the shops and if you shake hands they don't like to let go until you go in the shop. Just say no thank you and walk away.
Back to the hotel. The Russians seem rude and loud but we had no problems with them.
The food was 100% perfect, choice presentation taste every thing spot on.
Like others have said they never seem to stop cleaning the hotel.
Entertainment is a bit bland, but the animation team try hard. I would say this is not an ideal place for children or shoppers or going from bar to bar for a drink, because outside the Hotel there are no bars. If, like us four, you want pampering, good food, good service, cleanliness and come home feeling totally relaxed then this is the place. We could not find one fault on this holiday for us but before you book ask yourself what you want from your holiday then decide.
One last thing make sure you go snorkeling, you won't believe it till you see it. And the Taxis are older than my granddad. It won,t be long before Egypt becomes more popular with the British than Spain.

| said: We have just returned from this hotel. And when we heard that it had only just opened we were concerned that things might not be 100%. How wrong can you be.
The hotel now operates like a well oiled engine. I have never seen a hotel cleaned so many times - there was even a man to clean the indoor plants!
The 5* tag it has been given is well earned, the food was wonderful the choice extensive. The facilities excellent. There is now an "animation team" in place they take on organising the poolside exercises and games for those who wish to join in and they also undertake evening entertainments. The entertainment centre was open, and takes the form of an open air ampi-theatre, we went to watch one of the shows.
We really enjoyed our weeks holiday, both of us got out of the week what we wanted - namely a very good rest.
But there was one problem for us....... children/young teenagers, sorry I do not expect to see a child riding a scooter down the corridors of the hotel, neither do I expect to see children allowed to run around the restaurant, and neither do I expect to be disturbed at 2:00 am in the morning by young girls running around the hotel.
I think the hotel needs to decide what its target market is ... would we go back again? Yes providing we knew we would not have to share with children.

| said: A brand new hotel that had opened late in December, so you can imagine the chaos when I arrived a week later. My wife and I went for a relaxing holiday and we got a holiday from hell. How the hotel got 5 T is beyond me as a lot of the facilities were not open.
The hotel was spotless
The beds were hard as were the pillows but that is probably because they were new.
The hotel is close to the sea and you have to run the gauntlet of a shopping parade where the shopkeepers want your business.
Do not get confused between this hotel and the Baron resort which is next door. There was no beach bar open and there were extensive building works next door in the Conrad hotel and of course they were using a jackhammer for the first week of our holiday.
The hotel staff had very little training and it showed as when the Russian hoards appeared who were little better than animals in their quest for drink an they did not have any manners whatsoever
The manager Yassir was very apologetic but received very little help.
There was no entertainment save a woman who played the piano at varying times the other entertainment was watching the Russians fighting every night.
I think we were unlucky as it was new year but when you see the police take a man away from the hotel for fighting then allowed to return to the hotel you have to question the hotel.
Food was canteen style except for the poolside bar who served good food. Very little waiter service.
At best a 3 star hotel
