Set high on the hillside and surrounded by sweet-smelling pines, the Confortel Anabel is an ideal holiday retreat for those with younger families. You're only 900 metres from Menorca's 'Queen of Bays' (via 136 steps or by road which takes slightly longer), its colourful shops and powder-soft sands, but there's much to keep you back at base: there's a sizeable pool, with well-partitioned kids/adults sections, a roomy sun terrace, a games room and children's clubs for all ages. An ideal holiday for families who want flexibility! You're never far from a choice of refreshments either, should all that splashing about work up a thirst. Perhaps that's why couples enjoy it here in the early and late months of the season.

We stayed self catering, in the apartment we had a fridge, microwave, toaster and two electric rings. This was ideal as we eat out most evenings. I didn't feel the need to cook a full roast meal!! Our apartment was spotless! Never saw an ant or even a fly. This was probably helped by the fact we had air conditioning, which was very welcome as it got quite hot in the evening with the sun direct onto our balcony. I can't comment on the food in the restaurant as we didn't dine there, although another guest advised me one evening when i was looking at the menu to 'eat out'.All the staff were excellent, the maids came a couple of times a week and clean bedding and towels were always available.
The evening entertainment was good. There was a Robbie tribute one night, a Disney songs another. Great!

The Anabel is a First Choice exclusive hotel, which means that the vast majority of guests are all British. Now if this isn't your cup of tea, the the Anabel isn't for you.

However if you're travelling with family and are looking for some home comforts then read on.

The Anabel consists of a low rise complex based around an inner walk way, with a large pool at the bottom of the complex. The pool, which was large enough to cater for the school holiday crowd, was split between a shallow young kids/ baby pool and s deeper swimming pool. The photos in the brochure don't really give the appearence of size of the pool, it was larger than appears in the brochures (2008).

We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment called a kids den. The cooking facilities were pretty basic, 2 electric rings, kettle, fridge, toaster, grill microwave BUT as stayed half board it was a bonus. I do feel you'd be pretty hard pressed to produce anything more than a basic microwave meal. The "kids den" consisted of an extra bedroom which was brighly decorated with a couple of bean bags, 2 single beds/ camp beds, Ikea style kids furniture plus an extra portable telly. Oh and the PS2 supplied by the reception (free, deposit being your passports). If you're staying in these kind of room and the PS2 is important then take your UK games/ DVD's. The hotel only had 3 titles and all of them were in Spanish only. ( I believe they were the freebies when they bought the PS2's).

Food? Simple 3 * Spanish food. Breakfast had the normal bacon, eggs, sausage (spanish frankfuter), cereals, fruits, pastries, toast, jams, tea/ coffee and fruit juice. Dinner was a little more varied. Nice range of salads, "tid bits", a potato, meat, fish, vegetable dish (with a leaning towards fish) plus chips every night. Dessert was a selection of cakes, fruit, ice cream. Drink orders were taken by the head waiter/ manager and you were charged the bar prices.

Staff? Well to put it simply the staff were EXCELLENT. I've never stayed somewhere before when you can't fault anybody. The First Choice staff worked hard and made the real effort to make your holiday special. The hotel staff also did their best to make your holiday the best it could be. Solie the hotel entertainer was very friendly and had a great energy.

Entertainment? Our youngest went to the First Choice Kids Club and loved it. The 3 kids reps worked hard and made the kids club a great experience for my youngest. The kids club ran 6 days per week and you got at least 4 hours clubs most days. As there were 3 reps, the 24 kids that could go every club, meant that they were rarely full - given we went in the summer holidays was exceptional. Evening entertainment was either a show, some of them were pretty good, or a quiz style show. Mini Disco every night either by the hard working Solie or the equally hard working Kids Club reps (where do they get their energy from?)

We went in the first summer school holidays and we expected queues, overcrowding and we simply didn't get it. We queued twice for dinner, around a 5 min wait and twice for breakfast (both Sunday mornings - 9.30 being a popular time).

The negatives? Well in reality you do need to be picky to find them. Bar prices for drinks & Ice Creams were expensive. 2 Euros for a small glass of Cola or a scoop if Ice Cream was a little steep (not helped by the strong Euro). The hotel IS located at the top of a fairly steep hill. Not impossible to walk up BUT does make you think do you need to go down into town? Perhaps with it's location and expensive prices First Choice should consider this as an all inclusive property? There were a number of ants around the property (it IS a hot country) but we had only a very few in our room. People we spoke to weren't so lucky BUT the hotel gave them some ant spray and sent the maid to clean up. Oh and the last "negative" was the daily scrum at 8.45 when the sun beds were unlocked. Now don't forget this is a First Choice exclusive hotel - so can't blame the Germans. This was the British tourist and there best! Getting a sun bed after 9.00 was virtually impossible, which was a shame as there was more space, a few more beds maybe?

In summary, a great hotel with a definite UK family based leaning, helped by a hard working staff of both local hotel and tour operator staff.

We stayed in the anabel and absoulutley loved it and the apartment was just how we had seen it in the brochure. Our room overlooked the pool what a great sight it was beautifull and clean if oooh a little cold. We where self catering but used the restaurant for breakfast which was fantastic, their was a great choice and for only 7 euros you could eat as much as you wanted. The staff and reps where great they made us feel welcome and couldnt do enough. We ate out every night, so only used the entertainment in the hotel once but it was still very good. All in all we had a great time and i would recommend this to anyone who was thinking of going....we would.

Fantastic location - the hill to the beach easy to walk. Beach very crowded but worth finding a space, lovely soft sand, clear blue water - shallow & safe for little ones. Rent a Pedelo with giant slide great fun, float around watching the fish swim by. Buy or take your own parasol save money hire costs expensive.
Very clean hotel, happy friendly staff. Excellent pool for kids. Entertainment not great but kids enjoyed!!! We paid for breakfast & evening meal few times basic but well presented & fresh.

The hotel was very clean with regular towel and bedding changes, there was, however, a small problem with ants (even the smallest crumb attracted them)and locusts! several people had them fly at their heads !The self catering facilities were very good and very clean and were sufficient for breakfasts and snacks. The hill IS very steep, going down was a breeze but getting back up took quite a while longer (but the weather was extremely hot which didnt help, there bis a train that runs from the bottom but the rep couldnt tell us how often, he just said it comes whenever. The sunbeds were chained up until 9am which was a great idea but there were some arguments when people couldnt get a bed after this time and started moving towels off beds. It was the umbrellas that were in short supply and these were reserved within 5 minutes. The life guard was constantly on the look-out but mainly for any inflatables in the pool which are not allowed, our mother is in her late 60's and a little unsteady on her feet so needed a rubber ring in the pool. but alas only allowed in the baby pool!, glasses, bottles etc are not allowed around the pool either and he seemed to spend most of his time enforcing these rules, it became a joke with everyone watching new arrivals dive in the pool with inflatables and then waiting for them to be 'told off' never been to a 'child friendly' hotel before where children are only allowed to 'play' in the pool that comes below the knee! The reps did pay more attention to selling the excursions than they did to the guests one lady we met asked for bus routes and was just told 'don't know' - well they should really! The daytime entertainment was almost non-existent one spanish girl doing aerobics on her own on the stage being totally ignored and another day teaching spanish words over a microphone - not up to the usual first choice standard, however the kids club did an excellent job but you didnt see the reps around the hotel. would we return ? maybe but to a hotel where 'fun' is allowed for the children.

It was our first package "med." holiday for some years and we were pleasantly surprised.

The accommodation was first class, we had a one bedroomed apartment with kitchen facilities, although we only used the fridge and kettle, as we were half board.

Our accommodation was at the very top of the resort which is built on a hill, and on the top flat, so the peace and quiet was perfect.

The food in our opinion was first class, better than we have experienced elsewhere, it was buffet style, so at times it could have been a little hotter, but that is usually the case with buffet style, the restaurant was air-conditioned as well which may have added to this.

The staff were first class and could not do enough for you The pool was spacious with plenty sun beds which were unchained at 9.00amish and there was plenty of them.

The Lifeguard kept a close eye on things and was constantly moving round the pool.

The guests were predominately young families, or older couples like ourselves, so there was none of the boorish types there that made us give up on the Med. years ago.

There were at least four kids reps there and they appeared to do a great job keeping the kids happy, The main rep Aiden did not seem so keen however, there was no usual "fact book" prepared that would give you all the local info. one needs, I only approached him twice, once to ask where to chage cash other than the hotel, the answer was "dont know" and where is the tobacconists, Same reply. His only interest appeared selling trips and apart from that was seldom seen As stated previously the hotel is up a hill but was not a problem to anyone reasonably fit.

There are superb walks to beaches both directions from the resort but you will have to check them out yourself as the rep certainly won't tell you about them.

All in all we found it a super hotel with good facilities and would return again and recommend it to anyone.

Stayed at the Anabel for a week at the end of June. This is the second time we have visited this hotel (previously 2 years ago).

The hotel hasn't changed in two years, it was clean, the staff were very helpful (same staff as before). Food was good and there was plenty for our children to choose from at both breakfast and evening meal.

There were plenty of sunbeds by the pool, which didn't open untl 9.00am - always cleaned. There is a lifeguard on duty everyday and he does his job very well - doesn't just sit there all day but constantly walks around the pool which is reassuring when you have little children.

All in all a great holiday, would not hesitate to return here again.

Spent wonderful week here. Comfortable and Clean Apartment. Self Catering but used Restaurant twice-varied Buffet.

Pool very good especially for children.

Plenty of sun beds but go early for best position around pool.

Staff friendly and helpful especially Restaurant and Bar Manager.

Linen and towels changed regularly and apartment cleaned.
Armando kept us all amused with his mini-disco-but I think he has now moved on.

Don't let the hill put you off this hotel. I am 72, my daughter is pregnant and my grandaughter is 2 and we never found it a problem, sometimes twice a day. I took extra care on the steps down to Beach but once again no problem.
Cala Galdana is a beautiful spot with plenty of restaurants and bars.

Thoroughly recommend Sa Lluna half way up the hill - what a welcome we had.

First Choice Reps always friendly and helpful - well done.

We found everything about this hotel excellent. The rooms were well equipped and very clean. We thought the hotel was very clean and well maintained. The reception staff and restaurant staff particularly helpful. The food we found was of good quality and plenty of it, different choices every day and plenty of selection for the kids, our 2 year old lived on pasta and rice with fruit and ice cream for dessert. The breakfast was also good with cereals, continental or cooked breakfast on offer.

The pool was great, our 2 children aged 2 and 4 loved it. The entertainment quite good especially the Kylie/madonna/robbie tribute show which was excellent.

The childrens entertainer "Armando" was a great hit with all the kids, he did games in the day and the mini disco at night which the kids loved and the adults found very amusing.

Have just returned and would highly recomend this hotel to anyone considering Menorca. Although on a hill, which could be tiresome with little ones, the apartments were a good size, the place was spotless and the rooms cleaned every other day or so.

The only problem was the lack of Air-con. They have a wall mounted electric fan in the bedroom, but it wasn't very good. The food was truly fabulous and in 14 nights, not one meal was duplicated. There was always a good choice for the children too.

The drinks were quite expensive and beware the sangria seemed alcohol-free.

The staff were fabulous and the children loved the kids clubs and Armando's mini disco each evening.

We would definitley recommend the Anabel to families with young children (3 to 8).

It's a small, welcoming hotel set at the top of a hill about a mile away from the town centre. The hill is pretty steep, but the walk only takes 5-10 mins, so should be fine for most visitors, with supermarkets and a couple of nice restaurants along the way. Our one bedroom apartment was at the far end of the accomodation, so very quiet at night. Telly (with Sky Sports), fridge and microwave all included.

For the price differential, the range of food at the morning and evening buffets are wide enough to make half board the better tariff.

The bedroom was easily large enough for us to all sleep in, with our 3 year old on a ready bed in the same room as us. The maids came every second day and kept the room sufficiently clean.

For us, the key to the hotel is what it gives the kids - the First Choice reps were excellent, with 2 kids clubs almost every day. We weren't sure if our daughter would enjoy a kids club, being just 3, but she really enjoyed them. Armando (the "local" - well, Portugese kids entertainer) was absolutely fantastic - entertaining for the adults as well as the kids with the mini-disco at 8.30 each night and his water polo exploits by day. There isn't too much entertainment after 9.30, as the parents all shuffle off to put the kids to bed, but on our last night there was a live band shipped in.

The only things we could flag, if we had to raise anything would be that you're the last drop off on the way out from the airport and one of the first on the way back, about an hour each way. And sometimes the bar staff could do with a bit of help (at peak times). Oh, and the beach loungers (8 euros) and parasols (5 euros) aren't the cheapest for a day.

But overall I really wouldn't want to knock this place. Not for couples, but does everything you need it to for young families.

No air conditioning, we had to hire an additional fan for 15euros per week. Hotel and apartment clean.

Room well equiped with toaster and kettle.

We took the steps down to the beach and walked back up the hill, we did take the train a couple of time at 2euros each person.

Pool was great, no need to rush to get a sunbed we never had a problem.

Kids club was really great, the kids reps really cared and our two had a great time. Armando the hotel entertainer was "fab" did mini disco each night and then extra entertainment after, quiz night, bingo, acts. Everything stopped at the latest 11pm which is good if you have small kids, the restaurant/bar near the hotel is open till late if you fancy another drink and its right next to very small park with a couple of things on it "this is well lit and looks as though it is part of the restaurant/bar.

If the hotel had a better location and air conditioning i would return.

We went to the Cala Galdana hotel on the front a couple of times for a change saw "blues brothers" fab.

We only came back last week and already want to go again! We have two children (10 + 7) and they had a fantastic time. We were able to give them quite a bit of freedom as the complex is well enclosed and very safe. All the guests at the hotel were English and had children which meant that everyone was in the same boat - so no irritated looks when your kids had a strop in the restaurant! The food was superb especially the choice at breakfast and as it was buffet style the kids could eat as much as they wanted. We stayed for two weeks and it is the first time in over 10 years that none of us went down with a funny tummy! Very pretty well kept gardens, pool area gets a little bit crowded but otherwise superb.
Would definately go back (tomorrow if we could!)

Our 8 year old loved it - in fact she just loved the whole holiday! Loads of other children to play with, a great Kids' Club (run by excellent reps who did actually seem to like children!) and a mini-disco every night. All the families we spoke to said the same - if the kids are happy and well-catered for , it means a relaxing holiday for everyone. Can't wait to go back!

Stayed at the Annabel mid July had read reports about the mount Everest hill from the beach not too bad really if you get most of the way up pop in to the supermarket on the right treat the kids to a ice cream
and you will make it through.

Hotel was very clean.

Staff were excellent.

Entertainment was average but the big guy tried hard.

Food was reasonable and plenty of it.

Our eldest 6 went to the kids club he had a good time but if your are there for two weeks I think they might find it boring.

Sunbeds were left padlocked until 9.00am but it was not really a drama unless you wanted it to be. Lifeguard around pool was about as much use as a chocolate teapot apart from that no problems.

We would go back but probably only for a week as I think the kids would bet bored.

Apartments were clean well equipped an ours was cleaned three times in a week and we were offered another clean on the day we were leaving. decent holiday.

We enjoyed our stay in Cala Galdana, my daughter (13yrs) and her friend (12yrs) loved the pool at the Confortel Annabel and spent most of two week holiday in there. The pool is also very safe for small children as has two very shallow areas - it is also cleaned on a daily basis.

We were prepared for the race for the sunbed as identified in other reviews but were pleased to say that although there were a few people waiting for beds at 9.00am it wasn't the mad rush we had expected. Also plenty of beds spare (although umbrellas were more limited - although could buy one for 700-800 euros).

We stayed in a two bedroom apartment adjacent to the pool where the entertainment also occurred. We found this to be a little too noisy as had both the noise of the pool and the loud entertainment of an evening, saying this it did give us the option to watch the entertainment on our large balcony rather than going down to the poolside.

The staff on large were excellent, although did try and get a move because of the noise which was declined.

The self-catering equipment is very limited 2 rings, no oven and a microwave and fridge. We hired a toaster for 11 euros (per week) which we thought was rather expensive. The bedrooms are good sizes although the living accommodation could be larger it was tight with two children and two adults and would be even more cramped with four adults.

Although eating out has become more expensive in Menorca since the introduction of the Euro, I would totally recommend Sa la Lluna (a little way down the hill into Cala Galdana), the food was good value and Pedro and his staff where brilliant with children - with colouring for the children. He even made my daughter and her teenage friend bracelets and the milkshakes are the best on the island, could not fault anything we ate. They will also adjust food to suit yourself i.e. fish with fries rather than vegetables. Delittle across the road is also worth a visit, although slightly more expensive and not as child orientated, although does have a mini play area would definitely recommend.

Our family found the hill from Cala Galdana back up to the Confortel Annabel, fine we were expecting something like Everest from some of the reviews but was absolutely fine. A little harder in the afternoon sun but I walked up and down it in flip flops with a bad back without any problems.

We visited the hotel at the end of June/beginning of July. Our apartment was on the ground floor which was great with 2 children under 5. The apartment was spacious and clean and the maid service was regular. If you needed more clean towels they were always happy to provide them.

The food in the restaurant was good and there was plenty of choice for both adults and children.

Our eldest child was able to go in the Bugs Bunny Club which he thoroughly enjoyed and the Reps were great with them.

The pool area was very clean with plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas.

The one downside is that it is on the top of a hill but it was a pleasant stroll down and both our children were able to walk back up. I would not recommend it though if you are very unfit.

We would definitely come back to this hotel and resort, it was fantastic for the children and we enjoyed every minute.

The hotel was very clean although the rooms were very basic not very good for self catering.

Set on a very big hill which proved very difficult with a 9 month old son!! When you managed the hill climb from the town to the hotel you had another challenge of getting to your room we were located on the top floor with no lift so had to climb the stairs with the buggy.

If your looking for a keep fit holiday then this is the one to go for with all the climbing. Not at all suitable for less mobile people. I found the place very expensive and rather boring not much going on in the town either.

We really enjoyed our holiday here and would go back. The rooms were kept clean and the whole area was well kept.

Was a bit worried about the HILL but found it fine. It provided a nice space from beach or evening meal back to hotel. We walked it twice a day with 22month in a pushchair and a five year old who only got a few piggy back rides and bribes fron the supermarket.

Oldest one went to the Bugs Bunny club and really enjoyed himself.

On arriving at the room allocated we were both very surprised. It was better than expected. It was clean the only negative bit was it was on a hill and we were in the last block at the top. On arriving at the restaurant the first evening again very pleased. It was a buffet style meal and you could help yourself to as little or as much as you wanted. Same at breakfast. The location from the hotel to the beach was a bit of a daily slog either down loads (100+!!)of steps or a rather steep hill.
As it was the last week of the season for the hotel we did feel a bit uncomfortable as the hotel was being closed down around us, as we waited for the coach back to the airport. As for the enterainment great for the children, a couple of time we went down for the adult entertainment as it was posted as a quiz night and it ended up being superdad night with no willing contestants very much hit and miss!

the location of the hotel was exactly as described in the brochure. it was a steep hill and would prove difficult for people with mobility problems. we managed it at least twice daily. the staff were extremely friendly and the snack food on sale was good. the maid service was every 2nd day for self catering and every day for half board, don't see the difference (don't they pay the extra for the food).the entertainment was a hit or a miss, although Jamelia did try her best. the Airtours rep could not do enough for you and was very friendly.
the childrens reps were the same and the sharks club kept the 6 - 10 year olds out of the sun 12 - 2pm. The resort in itself was very picturesque and everyone friendly.

After reading quite a few reviews on the anabel before we left, we had a vague idea of what to expect and those expectations were certainly met. Our room was probably one of the best on the complex being on the ground floor overlooking the pool, which we first thought 'oh no its gonna be noisy' but that wasnt the case really, it was fairly quiet in the day and the evening entertainment finished around 11pm but by shutting the patio doors it made it quieter. Even though we stayed half board we still had facilities for cooking and a fridge and microwave. The rooms were spotlessly clean as was the whole complex with maid service every other day. The food was very good with plenty of choice and the staff were friendly enough.
The entertainment was based around the kids and the clubs were excellent as were the reps, we still keep in touch with them. Didnt have such a good experience with the creche which was down to one of the staff not doing her job properly resulting in us having to complain. Jamila did an excellent job at trying to entertain everybody, kids just loved her.
The location of the hotel, i thought, was good although it was a bit of a trek going back up, we quite enjoyed it every night (we often stopped off at the luna bar for a drink)so wasnt much of a problem even with 2 young children.

Accomodation: Apartments are compact but fully equiped (microwave, fan etc) and everything is accessible via slopes unless your are on 1st or 2nd floor. The Reception staff are friendly and helpful although they do occasionally struggle with English they do a lot better than we do with Spanish! It is also 24 hours!

Location: The hotel is situated at the top of a hill which is always commented on in reviews. I am a VERY unfit, overweight mother of 2 and I managed it every day at least once, pushing a buggy and my 4 year old walked it too. If you had walking difficulties then it wouldn't be the best but other than that if you can't manage it I would be concerned for your health. As hills go in holiday resorts, compared to Albufeira, Lindos, Pefkos, Paleokastritsa etc, it really isn't bad at all.

Cleanliness: The brochure advertised maid service 4 times a week but I had to go and asked for our apartment to be cleaned half way through our holiday as the cleaning was rather hit and miss (3 days in a row and then 4 days without cleaning). Even then I was offered just towels (which were clean but a little ragged) and I had to ask again to get the bins emptied (twice offered bags to do it myself!) and to get the floor cleaned. The floor was filthy and even though they would put a quick mop over it, it needed a really thorough scrub (another reason for thinking we were the first ones in there after the winter break). It never seemed to get a proper clean and we had to avoid walking around in bare feet, even after the shower or we would be dirty again in seconds! I told the Rep and he said that maid service was only 3 times a week but he wasn't really interested.

On the other hand all the public areas were absolutely spotless and the pool water was tested every day - very reassuring!

The Rep: He was a bit useless and not very reliable - I have several stories but I won't bother you with them, just be aware if you are going this Summer.

Entertainment: Again bit hit and miss, some nights were quizes or "Super Dad" or "Ideal Couple" - not our cup of tea. There was a parrot show one night and before I knew it I had a parrot plopped on my head and a picture taken - never mind I thought, I won't get the picture - wrong! I was THEN told it was €10 up front! As it was the last day I never got my photo!

Overall: Despite the above moans we did actually think the hotel was very good, we were never very interested in the entertainment as we prefer going out for dinner. The staff all do their best and the Kid's Club Reps and Creche Rep are fantastic. They are enthusiastic helpful and friendly. The pool is lovely although cold at this time of year, and the bar area is pleasant too. We had a truly lovely time and wouldn't hesitate to go back. It is a perfect hotel for young families, couples may feel a little out of place.

The hotel was spotlessly clean. Very efficient during check-in (they need to keep your passport for 24 hours for security and administration). Room was very clean. Had microwave, electric cookers and the usual kitchen stuffs in case you need to cook something. Also had a safe in the room (20 euros for a week). Food in restaurant was very good. Menu changed everyday with plenty of choices. Staff in restaurant was friendly and very polite (even remember our room number after 1 day!).The pool was clean and nice but a bit cold in May though. Not sure about entertainment as we went as a couple with no children, as it was mainly kids-orientated. Have pool table etc. Room cleaning about 4 times a week (not everyday). Hotel located up a hill and it takes about 10 minutes to walk to the main Cala Galdana beach. Not a problem for us but may be a nuisance for people with little babies or for people with walking difficulties. It was a nice hotel and we had a lovely stay. Highly recommended.

Stayed here for family holiday and were pleased with this clean, welll maintained accomodation. The staff were excellent and extremely friendly. The breakfasts were excellent and the evening meals varied and usually good. Accomodtion very clean if a liitle compact. Our bed matresses a little lumpy in the bedroom but that's all.
The Direct Holidays reps were diabolical, showing no interest whatsoever in us since we bought no excursions. They didn't even know that the pullout bed under the sofa had legs folded under it so we spent the first week watching the children on it because it was like a roller skate. We asked for their help organising a birthday cake for our son who turned 7 on our second day...they suggested car hire and a trip to a bakery in Mahon! Even the airline crew made a fuss of our little boy on the way out.The reception staff organised their kitchen to make a cake at no cost.
Pool clean, shortage of parasols and umbrellas so you do need to be ther @ 8.45 the unchaining ritual. Great gardens, lovely play areas but yes there are lots of steps and its situated at the top of a hill. Very quiet at night for big Z's! Day time programme for kids super, night time rubbish. Go to the 'square' down in the main resort.Internet kiosk in foyer. Maid service excellent. Good clean family orientated accomodation at the top of a steep hill but many people we met had come back year after year.

Spent a week here with hubby and son (aged 1), weather was great and really enjoyed ourselves. The apartments were very clean and very suited to us with a baby as there was a highchair and microwave which was handy. The downside was the steps, and carting a buggy up and down to reach our apartment every time was a pain.

Stayed at this aparthotel on a half board basis in August 2002. It was exclusive to Airtours. The apartments were basic but spotlessly clean. The whole complex was well maintained. The only problem was that there were insufficient sunbeds for the number of guests. The beds were chained up over night so the was a scrabble to get one every morning at 8.45.

The evening entertainment was a bit hit and miss - some nights really good and others nothing but a quiz. There is no entertainment at all on Tuesdays. The kids disco was on every night (except Tuesday) and the kids clubs were on every day (usually twice).

There is an indoor and outdoor play area and a large sand pit which kept the children amused.

The swimming pool was great (if you were lucky enough to get a sunbed) with a separate shallow pool for kids.

The hotel food is excellent with plenty of choice and we didn't eat the same thing twice in the fortnight.

The staff were friendly and extremely helpful.

All in all a great hotel and we would not hestitate to go back.
