The Hotel has a very impressive entrance, lobby and even the lifts were stylish. So, I was expecting something rather special. Opening the door to the room was very disappointing indeed and my illusions were shattered. Small, poky with battered funiture. Bathroom tiny and hardly room for two persons the room intended for to bathe, dress or even relax together. The food was similarly cheap and battered......the restuarant surroundings lovely but dinner was a rather overcooked, dried up carvery with only limited selection and self-service which felt like a cafeteria.

The leisure club hasn't been touched for at least 20 years, is small and ill equiped. Changing rooms in adequate - 3 of us in there around the same time had to step over each other! Fitness room hardly worth it (I opted for a run along the prom which was much nicer and sunny), sauna and jacuzzi both out of use due to faults. The 'coffee' shop at the health club consisted of a 'Max Pax' style machine into paper cups and choclate bars/crisps from another vending facility.

Somehow the staff managed to be top class, helpful and polite despite the surroundings. I would not pay good money to stay at this hotel - it isn't worth it and in no way makes you feel special or valued.

A cheap pile 'em high behind a deceptive facade.

Just had a weekend break at this hotel. Everything about this hotel is great. We had worries it would not be up to standard, but we were wrong, cannot fault any part of the experience, other than an accounting problem, which has now been resolved. Food, staff and rooms five star.

Stayed at this hotel for a birthday weekend. 10 girls in our 30's.

Arrived approx 12 noon to be told rooms (4 in total) were not ready, so no problem left our luggage in the safe area and headed out for lunch. Arrived back at 3pm, when they state the rooms are available from, still no rooms ready, so went into the bar area to return at 4pm to still be told rooms not ready. Thought this was really bad, and couldn't offer explanation. At 4:15pm 1 room was ready so we all left our luggage in there. This was a real shame as apart from this mishap the hotel was lovely and clean, the beds were huge.

No corridor noise.

Next time I'm going to double check when the rooms will definitely be available.

Didn't have breakfast there as thought it was alittle expensive. Bar area nice & not too rowdy, but with atmosphere.

Plenty of parking although not very pretty looking from the outside. Need to employ more housekeeping.
