These apartments are OK but they are only 1 key and very basic and I mean basic. We had a rusty old tin opener which you would not want to use as it had years of grime on it. No sharp knife to cut bread or fruit (or maybe this was so you did not slit your wrists ha ha) No wine glasses and what glasses there were there was only 3 and the cot they provided was broken.

The apartment had an ant problem and the hotels answer was to send the man around with the spray. We got our own in the end and seemed to keep them at bay. I have seen more cockroaches in these apartments than I have in the whole time I have been coming to the Canaries which is 11 years!

I did not think they were very clean either, the maids (although very nice ladies) did not seem to come very often and when we arrived we had a smelly Tea Towel and the bath towels did not smell very fresh either.

The hotel reception staff are very rude - you are basically just a number and if you have a problem you are then blacklisted for the rest of the holiday!

The pool was nice but noisy and had germans belching and throwing balls at you with no apology so we spent most of the time at the beach or sunbathing on the sun loungers at the apartment as we like to relax when we are on holiday.

I would not stay at these apartments again but would definitely recommend Gran Canaria as it is a wonderful island and the people are lovely (well with the exception of Club Maspalomas reception staff!!). With all said we did not let these little problems spoil our holiday and all in all had a wonderful time.

Our family of 5 adults and 1 child stayed in club maspolomas in July 2007.

The bungalows are small but really nice, spotlessly clean. These are hot but you can hire fans. The maid was lovely an came every other day.

The food was nice and also cheap

The location was rubbish an too far away from beach shops and restaurants. I would not recommend it to anyone with pushchairs or wheelchairs.

The entertainment was rubbish, this probably being because the entertainers did not speak a word of English even when they were ask to. Which is very rude considering they could speak English.

I will not be visiting again.

The Maspalomas Bungalows 1 complex is made up of 4 bungalows connected in a square, comprising of a single bedroom with a double and single bed, wardrobes and bedside cabinet. The kitchen area has a fridge, dual ring electric cooker with ample plates and pans. The lounge has a couch (could be used as bed) coin operated TV and leads to the bedroom & toilet, which has a shower, loo & basin. Outside there is an area with two sun loungers, table & chairs. The bungalows where cleaned with fresh towels every two days.
We felt that the accommodation was very good, clean, and safe with helpful staff. We did not eat there but it looked good and severed in buffet style.

Entertainment and things to do where posted on the board but we did not use any of it, but did see the children’s disco before going out.

Bungalows Club Maspalomas uno Or Club Maspalomas Bungalows 1

We stayed over the Christmas/New Year period. The Bungalows were tichy/small but brand new, brightly decorated and very clean. The bedroom had one double bed and one single with a sofa bed in the lounge.
The reception is 24hr with a small shop (bit expensinsive) that sold most essentials. The maids came every day but only changed linen afeter several requests!!

The three pools are large but only two were clean, the warm poolm seemed to be home to a million giant flies!! we complained and there was a someone out daily to clean...this made no difference.

Daily/Nightly Entertainment was a bonus for the children, play park was another plus. Not a fann of Bingo or Kareoke Challenge but they did put on a spectaculre Christmas Show with acrobatics, flame throwers/eaters, dancing ladies and a show from all continents of the world!! Very Impressed. During the day they had BBQ's and other attempts to keep you from leaving the complex!!

Overall I would say we have a very pleasant stay, very good for children and sun bathers as there is ample garden sapce to play, rest, relax and plenty of sun loungers to go around. NO bugs, ants and not 1 cockroach in site....every morning the staff would be out sprinkling insect detterent stuff which worked wonders!!

The Bungalows were small though but the brand new condition made up for lack of size, with so much to do locally and within the complex its a good 'base'.
