| said: This was our 2nd visit to the Blanc Palace following a fantastic holiday last year. The standard of cleanliness has remained very high. The staff are the same as last year and remembered us and were very welcoming again. The rooms are more than adequate for a family of 4 with aircon and satellite TV.
The Airtours entertainment team worked extremely hard as usual particurlarly "Disco Stu" organising the daytime and evening acivities.
The only problem we had once again was having to get up every day at 7.30am so we could ensure we got sunbeds as they would get towels put on them and sometimes the owners went out for the day and didn't return until late afternoon. There is a hotel policy that you can not reserve beds with signs posted but were totally ignored.
On the whole though an excellent choice for a family holiday if your children are under 11.

| said: We had a great holiday in Menorca and found the Blanc Palace to be a fab base for our first family holiday away with our 2 children age 4 and 3. The staff were great, always very friendly and helpful. The rooms were kept pretty clean (although mostly the floor was just given a quick swish with a mop and some potent smelling floor cleaner, bathroom sink etc was not cleaned).
The hotel food was pretty bland and I would go so far as to say the kids food is woeful, basically deep fried food with chips, although to be fair, this goes for the whole of the resort. If you want your children to have any vegetables at all on your holiday, head to the large supermarket. It's an easy walk from the hotel and will at least guarantee them some vitamin C!
For that matter, getting anywhere is super easy as the bus stops just outside the hotel. The kids facilities at the hotel are great, even when it rained, they could play in an indoor soft play shack right beside the play park, brilliant. The kids club staff are absolutely lovely and really put you at ease when leaving your little ones for a delicious couple of child free hours! We particularly liked Cheeky Charie and Silly (I Think) Susie. Our children really enjoyed all the entertainment put on for them but unfortunately it's a bit lame for the grown ups. The reps do try but the evening shows are fairly lacklustre. The hotel next door had a professional entertainer and you could really tell the difference, we ended up there a few nights. All in all a great place to stay.

the food in the restraunt was ok, nothing special really, certainly not 4 star grub!
when we booked this holiday we were aware that it was a quiet resort, but just too quiet for us,we caught the bus into cala bosch a few times, it was lovley there around the marina. i cant remember the name of the restraunt but it was linked to the tex mex place and aquarium, they do a super lasagna!!
staff were good, any problems we had, they were sorted out.
The entertainment was good for kids and the entertainment team kept them entertained well but if its west end stuff you want then this is not it, overall we all enjoyed the shows on a night.

The only downfall was the food in the restaurant, not what we expected. Ordered a chicken kebab arrived with HP sauce smothered all over it!!! And the other times we ate there we can out feeling a little disappointed. However, went to the Bar Sa Nacra - very good, and Sa Quadra(chateaubriand Fantastic) both in Calle Santandria.
Very beautiful small beach which we also would recommend just a 5 min walk away. The benefit of this hotel was that it has the bus station right outside so you can travel to other parts of the island with ease.
The hotel entertainment was great for my 2 1/2 yr old but not quite what I would want if it was just myself and my husband, they did try though!!!!

| said: I stayed at the blanc palace in jun 07 i went for a two week holiday with my wife, friends and kids. We all agreed it was the perfect holiday. The food was of a high standard and also the rooms too. The reception staff were all very helpfull and most friendly, really made you feel welcome. The daytime entertainment was great expecially for the kids. The entertainers were great also, i didnt really see my kids during the day as they were all off playing with the entertainers expecially if Crazy Chris or Kool Kev was on. These two entertainers were great with the kids and my 3 followed them around all day. They do work very hard and such long hours tho. Evening entertainment was great again Kool Kev and Crazy Chris stood out for us both the only 2 who could sing really. Although Jumping jenny did a great version of Mustang sally, Would have liked to seen more of her but she only really came out at night. Didnt think much of the other rep, he was a bit in your face but friendly enough. When we were there The entertainers said their good bye to Kool Kev as he got moved to another resort which looked like an emotional time for the team. Didnt enjoy my holiday as much when his replacement came in, She was not so friendly towards the kids. But seriously a must do holiday.

| said: We stayed at the Blanc Palace in Sa Caleta. First impressions were good - the hotel/apart-hotel has a nice, large reception and it certainly looked as though it lived up to its 4 star rating. Our room wasn't ready upon arrival, so we had to wait 45mins or so before we could get our stuff away.
We found the hotel to be adequate for our needs and certainly it was very good for our four year old son, who loved the kids' pool and entertainment - certainly couldn't fault the hotel for entertaining kids.
As said above, the kids' pool (and the big pool) are really good, as is the availability of sun loungers; we had no difficulty finding these.
Our apartment was air conditioned, which means the room is nice and cool. The cleaners attended regularly, but we found they only cleaned certain things when they did come - they also moved some of our bits. Also, because the apartment floor had not been mopped, we had a large infestation of ants in our room. When we told reception, there were unsurprised and said the cleaner would come and spray some stuff. This was effective, but we later saw ants all over the hotel and, looking on this website, it seems other people have had similar problems too.
The bar was nicely decorated; however, at €3,30 per pint, it ought to be. To be perfectly honest, although we spent a few evenings in the bar, we always bought our own San Miguel from the shop opposite and just poured it into our glasses - at only €0.95 for a big 1 litre bottle, you'd be mad to pay their prices. Re the restaurant/snack bar, the food is OK enough, but very pricy. We found it better to eat elsewhere or make something with stuff bought from the shop opposite.
We found that the staff only seemed to be friendly when you were buying stuff from them. The fact is that the prices at the Blanc Palace are higher than many other parts of Spain and, bearing in mind the reliance they place on tourism, they ought to be a bit more friendly. I was really offended by the prices they charge, as you can go down into Citudella (the town) and get things at a fraction of the price.
Location is another problem - there's only a few things to do near to the hotel - anything else needs a bus trip. Further, the beach which they say is just metres from the hotel is actually what seems to be a man-made beach. To be honest, it's really rubbish and we were very disappointed. You can get the bus to Cala'n Bosh or to San Xorigeur, but to be honest the beaches aren't that good there either (compared to Mallorca, anyway). The bus service is very good.
To sum up, we did have a really enjoyable holiday, albeit that there wasn't much to do. However, we would go back to the Blanc Palace on the basis of the large apartment (other than the ants) and the way our son enjoyed it.
Re the Ocean restaurant, beach and other bits around the hotel - see my comments below on the resort.

Our children love the pool and the room to play without bumping into others. The rooms are clean bright and spacious.
The staff we have always found to be very friendly and helpful. The restaurant in the hotel is clean, spacious and there is always ample staff and well presented food at reasonable prices.
There are two beaches approx 100 meters from the hotel one small one medium size which has ample bars, hotels, and places to eat, over the last two years we have eaten in lots of different places but have found that the Ocean bar (which is a stones throw from the hotel) is the best especially if you have young children as there are bouncy castles and games to keep the kids entertained.
The location of the hotel is great it's nice and quiet, if your looking for noisy nightlife stay away. You can travel anywhere by bus or taxi witch are inexpensive, lots of places to eat at ciutadella, great harbour with lots of restaurants and it's a lovely walk either to or from the hotel.
There are three shops near the hotel for groceries and the usual holiday stuff and a large hypermarket nearby.

| said: Returned from the Blanc Palace at the end of August and can not find anything negative to say about the whole holiday, the standard of service from Airtours was excellent, the reps did a fantastic job and our two girls (5 & 6 years) had a wonderful time. The quality of the staff at the hotel was exceptional and their standard of English put us all to shame, (however did find that if you do try and speak a little Spanish you do get preferential treatment).
The place is spotless the resort is very quiet but has a lovely restaurant next door called the Ocean (sea bass is great). It's only a short walk round to another couple of good restaurants including Sa Quadro steak house ( my children took a shine to this place) and there is a very good bus service which stops nearly outside to take you to other nearby resorts.
If you want to eat pie and chips at the local Karaoke bar DO NOT go to the blanc palace, if you have young children and you want a fantastic relaxing holiday and be able to sample some Spanish culture in nearby towns then book a holiday here. My wife and I spent most of the holiday thinking something had to go wrong as it was too perfect, fortunately it didn't and we are even considering going back next year (something we said we would NEVER do).

Huge pool but some safety issues, no lifeguard, showering before you go in not bothered with as the one shower is hard to find, Rounded edges on the sides mean there's nothing to grab hold of if you get into difficulties, children need watching all the time.
Nice and clean and great courtyard type layout, however some balconeys are directly opposite each other a matter of feet apart, talk about eye ball to eye ball, not good atall. There also seemed to be loads of ants everywhere. specially coming from the decking round the pool, but they were also on our balcony. A minus point was that although there were three adults in our party the hotel refused us an extra chair for our balcony, not good customer service, but otherwise a good hotel.

| said: The Blanc Palace must be one of the cleanest places I have ever stayed in. Very regular bedding and towel changes and spotless rooms which were well kitted out. The staff were all very friendly and made an effort to speak with my children when they saw them. The entertainment and child care teams were excellent. We had reservations about letting our children out of our sight due to recent events but they operate a secure signing in and out routine so our kids enjoyed their time spent in the clubs.
The 2 swimming pools were fantastic and cleaned regularly with all the sunbeds positioned around them making it very easy to keep an eye on the children without getting wet!
The only irritaion was that they supposedly operate a policy where sunbeds may not be reserved and towels would be removed. This does not happen. In order to get a bed in a location of your choice you had to be down by the pool by 7.30am. I noticed on quite a number of occasions that beds had towels on woth nobody using them until noon!!
Definately geared to families with kids under 12years.
Overall excellent - probably return next year.

| said: We've just returned from a 7 night stay at the Blanc Palace and we all wanted to stay longer, we had a fantastic holiday, we are a couple in our 30's with a 2 year old and we found everything to our satisfaction.
The rooms are bigger than you normally get and had all you needed, the air con was really powerfull.
i didn't see anyone that didn't have children, the complex is ideal for familys especially if your kids are under 10, not much for teenagers!
The entertainment was good, you usual kids disco, bingo and family show, even in august most people had gone by 11pm and the complex went quiet.
We went to the Ocean Restaurant which was next door quite a lot we found the food excellent (recommend the suckling lamb!) It also had a pool and bouncy castle you could use which we went to during the day for a change.
The pool at the Blanc Palace is perfect, the kids pool is massive compared to most and the main pool is lovely, no matter what time we went to the pool we always found sunbeds.
We found all the staff really friendly & helpfull especially at reception.
Sa Caletta is very small, just a small parade with a pub, restaurant, chinese and shop and the beach thats a 2 minute walk from the Blanc Palace is very small and quiet.
The bus service is excellent and runs every 15 mins from outside the hotel, we went to Cala Bocsh about 15 mins away and this was worth visiting, will probably stay here next year, had lots more going on but still in August didn't feel too busy, a lovely harbour and plenty of shops and restaurants.
We also went to Ciudella a couple of times this is the old capital as is worth a visit.
All in all a fantastic week, but don't go if you are looking for a lively group holiday, this is for familys looking for a friendly , quiet safe holiday!

Location of hotel was too quiet and not enough outside restaurants. I found hotel staff unfriendly and unhelpful.
During our stay we encountered a rat outside the ocean restraunt and also at our apartment. We therefore would not eat in any of the restaurants in the vicinity.
Citudella is only a short bus ride away which is a lovely place. This was my first time in Menorca and I would definitely not go back.

Ideal place if you want a nice quiet relaxing holiday. The pool had loads of loungers and it didn't matter what time of day we went 2 pool we also got loungers. The holiday reps were a great laugh and got everyone 2 join in different activities. We ate in the hotel restaurant and the food was very nice. | said: We have just returned from a very enjoyable week at the Blanc Palace.
The Hotel is immaculatley clean. Upon arrival we received a welcome groceries pack, which was a very nice touch.
Our room was very clean, very spacious bedroom and bathroom, but the main living and kitchen area small, we always let the kids have the bedroom, and we sleep on the sofas - we found these very uncomfortable!
Great shower, and plenty of wardrobe space! Nice spacious balcony. Very good maid service, during our stay our room was cleaned daily with clean towels (except sunday) and our beeding was changed once during our stay.
Food in the hotel restaurant and pool snack bar was very good.
Excellent pool area, very clean, plenty of sunbeds, although it did get full even in May.
Great kids playgound and soft play area.
Our kids absolutley loved it.
The entertainment was OK, mini disco, followed by usual entertainment, we didn't really stay in the hotel much during the evening.
The only let down was Sa Caleta itself, it is very quiet, we like a choice of different places to eat, but there is only a couple of restaurants and bars, we ended up eating at the Ocean restaurant, which was good food, but great for keeping the kids occupied, as they have an enormous bouncy castle and a small kids go-cart curciut.
Sa Caleta beach was also a disappointment, quite tatty, not a very appealing place to spend the day.
All in all, I would definatley recommend the Hotel, it was great for a week away.

| said: Just returned home from the Blanc Palace Apartments and we have had an excellent holiday.
Tha apartment was lovely and clean and they were well equiped for all our self catering needs. The maids always left plenty of clean towels and cleaned regually.
The pool area was nice too, plenty of free sunbeds and sun brollys, good for small children.
There was always a lot going on in the apartments. The airtours resident entertainment team are excellent nighty entertainment, mini discos, games around the swimming pool in the day, but no-one was too pushy and you could take part in as much or as little as we wanted.
The airtours rep was nice but had no concept of time and her favourite sign "back in ten minutes" usually meant about half an hour but hey ho-who cares when you are on your jollies...
The resort of Sa Caleta was very quiet only a very, very small amount of resturants and bars, most of the entertainment in hotel based, if you are looking to party till dawn, this is definatly the wrong place for you.
Outside the hotel there are bus stops where yoy can reach Cala n bosch, Cuitedella and Cala Blanca, for 1 euro 35 per person each way, the buses are reliable and regluar, a really cheap way to see the island and go to busier resorts. There is another small bay not far from Sa Caleta (well within walking distance) with a few more resturants and a bigger beach. There is a steak house there called Sa Quadra the food there is really nice and you can eat outside or in the cave resturant.
All in all a great pleace to stay.

Lovely hotel and very clean. Our daughter was just 3 when we went last September. She was too young to take part in activity but she really enjoyed the kid's pool, the playground and the indoor play area. She also loved the childrens disco which went on every night.
Entertainment was good most nites. Especially Rod's son (Rod Stewart tribute). The place was hopping the night he played. It was brilliant I and I'm not a Rod fan). Make sure you see him if he playes while you are there.
The resort is very quiet. However if you fancy somewhere a bit busier the buses are excellent. The locals make a huge effort to make everything very child friendly.

We love the quiet location without the usual "touristy" bits and the fact that you can easily do your own thing. Cituadella is an absolute joy and the walk inthe evening from Sa Caleta to the town , looking across at Majorca is just beautiful! I have already picked the location of our retirement villa! If you don't like to walk or you want to be waited on hand and foot don't go. If you are happy in your own company and prefer a nice quiet, relaxing family holiday then this is highly recommended.

| said: Second visit to the Island of Menorca with Direct Holidays, but this time it was allocation on arrival. And what a brilliant place we ended up with in the "Aparthotel Blanc Palace". A superb 4* place that surely nobody can complain at.
The stunning entrance to the hotel reception makes you realise that you are in a very clean and welcoming place. When I say clean, I mean it. The cleaners are all over the place. The gardens are grassed and extremely well looked after. Pool large and the kids loved it. WARNING: Staff here do collect in towels from those naughty Brits who continue to try and reserve their sunbeds. Be warned - It is embarrasing going to reception to collect your towels!!
The hotel staff are some of the friendliness I have ever met. Nothing is too trouble for them. Look out for Xavier who works everywhere. An extremely nice guy, who speaks good English and is brilliant with the kids.
Hotel location is good within a very small resort, but ideal for the fantastic beach and cove. On the beach, kids/adults can walk out about 25 meters and still only have water up to your mid-drift...very safe here!! I would not rercommend using the snack bar here as the food is not good and the drinks very expensive. Use the local supermarket to buy your drinks on the way down to the beach. They also charge for sunbeds and brollies on the beach.
Self catering apartments which are really clean and adequate. The best thing about them is when you walk back into your room after a hot day out and you've left your air conditioning on.....absolutely fantastic!!
Entertainment was good....some nights. The My Travel Reps were superb (Dan + Gemma). They were about all day and took time to speak to loads of people as well as having to put up with the kids trying to sling them in the magnificent pool. Well done to them for doing a great job!!
Have I said anything bad about the Blanc Palace yet??
No!! This is why it deserves the 4* it has. A lovely place, small resort, but if you wander (like we did) you can find some lovely places to eat, like Sa Quadra (Steak House....highly recommended) and Sa Nacra, also recommended for its location next to the sea. Forget to mention that tyhe restaurant at the Blanc Palace is also excellent, offering lovely well priced meals - I can recommend the Paella if you have not tried before, give it a go.

| said: My family and I stayed in the Blanc Palace for 2 weeks in the middle of July last year. Before going my Mum felt that maybe the whole area would be too quiet but this wasn't true.
When we first arrived at the Hotel we were greeted by the lovely hotel staff and were given a welcome pack which contained a bottle of water, bread, jam, butter and other things that were useful for us when we arrived.
The Hotel was impeccably clean and the cleaning staff worked very hard keeping it up to it's great standard!
One of the reasons that my Mum though it would be too quiet is beacuse she thought that it wasn't really situated near main towns or cities but in fact Sa Caleta is only a 10 minute bus journey from Ciutadella. Ciutadella is the old capital of Menorca and is full of beautiful old buildings, cobbled streets and restaurents. It was very easy to get to as the bus stop was right outside the hotel.
Another resort near by was Calan Bosch which is slightly bigger than Ciutadella. It was full of Restaurents and shops and was only a 20 minute bus ride away.
The staff were all very nice and friendly and all spoke very good english! All the staff always had a smile on their face's
and were always happy to help!
The entertainment was great (thanks to Dan and Gemma). I was 12 and my brother was 15 when we visited the Blanc Palace and we were always encouraged to join in the daily game of water polo! The evening entertainment was also great. Yes i would visit this Hotel again and my Family and I are going back this summer!

| said: First impression - VERY CLEAN!
Superb accomodation. Friendly staff. Room cleaned & towels/bed linen changed every other day. Pool & childrens play area safe & secure (big pool very cold though!)
Entertainers Dan & Gemma were excellent. Really entertained both us & the kids! They were thrown in the pool countless times & I'm sure they will remain wet for the rest of the season!
The complex is really in the middle of no where, so if you are wanting night life on your doorstep dont choose this place. Although Calan Bosch is only a 15 mins bus drive away or 12 Euro by taxi. If you've got young kids then all the entertainment you need is in the hotel. There are a few nice restaurants walking distance if you fancy a change. In particular a steak House restaurant in a cave (sorry cant remember the name except it begins with a Q...)Near a beach. Also Ocean Reataurant.
We stayed here for 2 weeks & loved it!

| said: On arrival at the Blanc Palace hotel the standard of cleanliness stands out a mile it is immaculate
we were also pleasantly surprised at the standard of the apartments basic but well equipped.
Bed linen towels were changed on a daily basis nice to come back to see room had been cleaned.
Regards the restaurant the meals I thought were not as good as I would expect for a 4 star hotel rather on the small side and expensive except for the roast lamb service in there was good though.
Had a walk round to the Lord nelson restaurant {just around the corner} meal prices were priced the same but were far larger so we ate here for rest of week.
Entertainment was reasonable once the kids mini disco
finished different artist every night of a good standard pity the kids entertainment was the same night after night.
The hotel staff from the manager down to the cleaners
were a very professional well organised team.
I will certainly come here next year.

| said: In August 2005, the 8 of us travelled once again to the sunny island of Menorca and stayed in the wonderful blanc palace. This was the 6th time we visited Sa Caleta, 3 times staying at Son Blanc and for 4 of us, 3 times at Blanc Palace.
Upon arrival, we were greeted with the familiar faces of the staff. We had requested 2 rooms next to each other, but for the 1st night this wasn't possible. However, the hotel informed us that we could change rooms the next day and were extremely helpful in doing this.
The entertainment was still good, but our kids who were then 16, 15, 13,& 12, didn't quite get the same fun out of it as they did when they were younger. This new entertainment team were not as good as the team in 2003. Nevertheless, they were all still very friendly and still prepared to entertain us when we had a shock thunderstorm for 2 days.
Bar staff were incredibly chatty and friendly. The food in the hotel restaurant was delicious and reasonably priced.
Accomodation was still as clean as we had remembered and as it was self catering, we visited the well stocked on site shop regularly.
Beneath the large pool is a pub, open at night. You would expect noise from it, however, we never heard one sound at all during the time we stayed there.
Once again a fantastic holiday in a fantastic hotel. We would recommend it to anyone with young kids and even with older kids, especially now the Escape club for 11-16 yr olds is moving to Blanc Palace from Son Blanc.

| said: As soon as we arrived at this hotel we were impressed. The entrance and the reception area are impressive in themselves. It was very shiney and you could smell the polish and the cleanliness. We were given a welcome bag of goodies which included a bottle of water, a loaf of bread, a carton of milk and a couple of other bits and pieces which was very welcome.
Our room was spotlessly clean when we got there so clean in fact that the floor was still wet, but unfortunatley extremley hazardous because it was tiled floor and my kids were extremely fortunate not to fall over it was like an ice rink.
This is the only fault I have about the room was that when the floor got wet after showering it was dangerous and like an ice rink. You have to make sure you use one of the hand towels aswell as the shower mat by the side of the bath because if the shower screen does not shut properly the water goes all over the floor hence the danger.
Despite notices all over the hotel about not putting towels on sunbeds it happens. So unfortunatley you are forced to join the throng in order to get your place. It mainly happens around the area of the childrens pool because it is a smallish area although the kids pool is a good size space is of a premium.
The main pool is huge. Its the biggest hotel pool i have seen for a long time. There is a shallow end but it does not last for long and a child could very quickly get out of their depth so vigilance is paramount with the kids.
The daytime entertainment starts at around 1130 courtesy of "Airtours Entertainers". The do try their best but unfortunatley after a couple of days the megaphone is very irritating especially for the people who are not interested in joining in. The shallow end of the big pool is taken up for at least 1 1/2 hours practically every afternoon for kids water polo closley followed by adults water polo or pool games. Some times guests from the Son Blanc Hotel across the road were rounded up and brought over for a 'grudge match' It was all done in good fun but there is only so much you can take. It was irritating in the end because my kids wanted to go in the big pool but could not because of the games.
I did not rate the hotel food we ate there twice, once on the night we arrived and second time because the kids had gone to an evening party at the kids club and we were not permitted to leave the hotel grounds.
There are some good restaurents around though. Next door to the Blanc Palace is Ocean restaurent. This is a great place for the kids because it has a huge bouncy castle which if you are eating at the restuarent the kids get a band to play for free. Beware though it does get busy and the big kids mixing with the little ones can get quite hairy for them. It is not supervised and you do have to keep an eye on the kids. One night whilst we were there a 9 year old girl broke her ankle quite badly.
The food is good try the Menorquin shoulder of lamb is is great so is the meat paella.
Another good restaurent which has been mentioned alot on this site is Sa Quadra. It is by far the best in the locality. Try the Mixed meat platter it is by far enough for 2. The kids enjoyed it too because they were able to watch videos whilst waiting for their meals.
It is worth a trip into Cuitadella. It takes only 10 minutes on the bus which leaves from directly outside the hotel and is very reliable. There is a market on a Friday and Saturday, but do not have high expectations it is not a huge one and will take you about half an hour to go round. It is a lovley old town and really worth a visit .
Also try to get the bus to Cala n Bosh there is a huge selection of restaurents around a pleasant marina.
We took one of the Airtours evenings out "Star People" which although it was good was very way overpriced.
On the whole we really enjoyed our holiday even down to the mini disco every evening at 8.00pm and the bingo. when you have 2 young children it is almost mandatory and fair play to the Airtours entertainers they did a great job with the kids even ifd there were only 3 kids sometimes. Jordan was a real hit with the kids and adults alike.
This hotel is a lovely place to stay. The hotel reception staff are the friendliest and most helpfuln I have ever encountered they could not be faulted on anything. Their English is impeccable and shouod you need any help with anything they have the answer it if they personally do not know they will ask somebody who does.
There are 2 supermarkets within spitting distance and you can get all your daily requirments even a daily paper if you want to keep abreast of things at home.
Our room was a adequate for our needs there were plenty of utensils to use if you wanted to cook although you would be pushed to do anything extravagant. The air conditioning was a welcome part of the room and the tv which filled some gaps.
If you are looking for a full on busy resort this is not the place for you. But if you are looking for a nice relaxing holiday with the prospect of venturing further with ease then this is the place to be.
We would have no hesitation in returning to this hotel and if we did not have a prior committment in the Algarve next year we would certainly return.

We arrived at the complex at 12.30pm and were pleasently surprised with the "gift pack" of the bread, water and milk, items we were wondering where we were going to get at the hour we were arriving. Next morning, we were further plesently surprised with the pool facilities when we ventured outside. One of our children had a broken collar bone on arrival, and any of the staff that came in to contact with him had loads of time to help him enjoy his holiday. We found the restaurant in the complex to be quite nice, though a little bit on the dear side in comparison to other places around the resort. We hired a car locally, as the rates supplied by the tour rep in the hotel were much more expensive. For car hire, it pays to shop around. The restaurants around the area varied from very good to just o.k. It was a case of trying them and seeing what they were like. We found the hotel entertainment to be very up and down, the shows put on by the entertainment team were a bit of a stretch, but some of the other shows that came in were actually quite good. Our two children enjoyed the mini disco and the bingo, which they won quite a lot! All in all, I'd have to say we enjoyed our two weeks there and I would have no problem reccomending it to anyone or returning there next summer.

Very quiet, other than a slightly seedy on site pub (built bunker fashion under the pool) which seemed to generate a fair amount of noise in the road at close of play.

| said: Fantastic big swimming pool so even when the shallow end was taken up with water polo there was still plenty room for the non-games playing swimmers.
Hotel was clean and maid came in every other day, no shortage of towels and good shower with endless supply of hot water.
The games room had the usual grab a soft toys machine which parents hate. A game of pool for the children was 1.50 euro which I thought was a bit much. A mars bar at the bar was 1.50 euro and the same one in the supermarket was about .50 euro. Two supermarkets literally on the doorstep with an excellent supply of all needed. Much larger supermarket about 10 minutes walk but we only went once as the local ones didn’t seem any more expensive. Dave, not ours but one of the Airtours reps who seems to do most of the games in the pool and kids games came into his own on the stage at night, - he really could sing.
We ate in the hotel one night and it was okay but in our opinion nothing to write home about. We ate in the steak house most nights (wonderful), about 10 mts walk. Not many places to choose from in SA caleta but bus service is excellent and only 5-10 minutes in either direction to much bigger resorts.
Lots of folks saying that it's not cheap to eat out any more, - kids drinks 1.75 euro, beers 3.75 to 4 euro approx.
Water park just about 10 minutes on the bus, our boys didn’t want to go as they say it from the road and were not too impressed having been at a big one in Portugal, however we went and they had a fantastic time. We opted to go from 3pm which meant the admission fee was about half the price. 3-6pm was just perfect for us but a whole day I think would have been too long. They charge 4euros over and above admission fee for one sunbed once in the park.
Overall Menorca is lovely and I felt totally safe wandering about at night with the children. In the whole two weeks we never saw or heard about any over the top behaviour/drunks.

Explored Hotel in the morning and I have to say I was very impressed. Used the Gym daily (closed Sundays), fantastic play area for kids as well as 2 fantastic pools.
Children Club (daughter age 2) was fantastic and allowed us to have some time together. My wife is a qualified Nanny of some 18 years standing and she was very impressed in staff and child facillities.
Hotel staff bar/restaurant were fantastic and helpful. All Hotel staff spoke good English. For a small price you could get your washing done daily, unfortunately ladies they won't iron it for you!! However Iron and board are supplied. No need to take travel cots as they will provide for you. They are good sturdy wooden ones and were very clean.
Restaurant on site was pricey but good. Entertainment was a little similar daily but adequate for family needs. Some of the touring acts were amazing, especially the magic show and the Rod Stewart act which was simply amazing.
Have booked to go back at the beginning of September 2006... Hope to see you there!!

After complaining to reception they were very apologetic and on return to our room later we found a note from the manager with a free bottle of wine.
All staff at the hotel including reception, cleaners, bar and restaurant staff were very friendly and helpful.
Didn't think much of the Dizzy childrens club - they kept changing the times and finishing early so my daughter only went two or three times. The children enjoyed the Mini Disco in the evening but the entertainment for the adults wasn't up to much, although we did win the bingo on quite a few occasions (how sad!!)
Lovely swimming pools and park for the children.
The hotel food was excellent but quite expensive.
There is a bus stop right outside the hotel and we visited Ciutadella which is lovely with lots of shops and a beautiful harbour.
We also visited Cala Bosch which has a lake surrounded by bars and restaurants.
Would recommend a visit to both of these resorts.

| said: Due to work reasons we only had a week to spend at this hotel late into the season. We only paid 250GBP PP so we were happy to say the least to end up in a 4 star resort.
This hotel has a large swimming pool, childrens swimming pool, spacious bar with large stage and large television, Gym, Sauna, Jacuzzi, games room with billard tables and arcade games, cheap internet access, onsite telephones and a selection of day and evening trips around the Island.
Our reps put on a wide variety of shows and games to entertain us during the day and into the late evening.
Two beaches are within 10 Minutes walk from the hotel and childrens buggies (single and double) can be rented from the hotel at a nominal rate.
Buses are easily accessable via the bus stop at the main entrance to hotel proving good travel links to the rest of the Island.
Hotel staff are very friendly and polite with good English. Rooms and facilities are kept very clean.
Drink and food prices are slightly higher than some hotels but this is due to the fact that it is 4 star......... but a selection of other bars and resturants are close at hand.

On arriving at the hotel the first thing that hit us was the cleanliness and how spacious it was. The rooms were bright and clean. The pool area was fantastic, exremely large and clean, with a smaller childrens pool. The restaurant in the hotel was very average and similar to the other restaurant not far by, however we found it extremely pricey compared to other hotels we have stayed in.The only problems we seemed to have was an invasion of ants in the apartments, the annoying bingo call-outs round the pool (thought we were in "Blackpool"), and the area surrounding apartments.

| said: We have been visiting the Blanc Palace now since it opened. Our main holiday each year now for as long as my kids can remember is the Blanc Palace. Over the years the level of service from the staff has not changed from its excellent level. It's nice to return to see the same staff each year and the close family atmosphere they create. All of the rooms I have stayed in have been kept clean to a high standard on a daily basis.
My only criticism - Airtours
Last year airtours put an entertainment team in who paraded around the pool with a megaphone, and generally lowered the otherwise excellent tone of the Hotel. It felt like I was back at Butlins and not in a five star property. For me, the professional entertainment provided a much better atmosphere. The kids reps were great although I did witness many criticisms of the creche staff. Perhaps better monitoring might have helped.
But all said... This is one NOT to be missed. One visit and you'll be back

| said: In July 2003, we stayed at the Blanc Palace in Sa Caleta, a peaceful and quiet resort. From 1999 to 2001 the family stayed at Son Blanc across the road from the Blanc Palace, which is a wonderful complex. The following year, 4 of us tried the Blanc Palace out and it was brilliant!!! The following year, 2003, the 8 of us went for a fantastic holiday.
Although the hotel is aimed at families with young children, our kids (who were 10, 11, 13 & 14) had the most enjoyable time. In the mornings a rep would be out there doing water aerobics with everyone which was fab. During the afternoon there was a variety of poolside entertainment for the kids and also your daily quiz which was good fun.
After seeing the adults play water-polo, our kids asked the reps for a kids game and without any hesitation, they were all soon in the pool having a great laugh. In the evening there was the mini-disco for the younger kids, but it didn't stop ours from getting up and doing the Cartoon Hero song (and it didn't stop the adults either!)There was some amazing entertainment later on such as magic shows, live spansih bands and flamnco dancing. It was also a great laugh seeing the reps put on shows like Grease and the Lion King!
Other amusing evening activites was Mr & Mrs, bingo, competitions between the two sides of the room and much more!
The rooms were lovely, clean and comfortable, all with balconies or terraces. The hotel had many facilities such as a restaurant, a clean large pool with a kids section and play area, a games room and much more. The super market is a 30 second walk just over the very quiet road.
All the staff, receptionists, barmen, reps etc. were so easy to talk to. They were very friendly people and we had a good laugh with them all.
The Blanc Palace is fantastic! We have booked to go in August 2005 and so our kids will be even older but nevertheless I am positive that it will still be a great holiday! I would definately recommend it to families and couples alike!

We ate snack food in the hotel every lunch time which was really nice, the restaurant was nice also, but we found a couple of local restaurants where there was a much wider selection of food. The Staff at the Blanc Palace could not be faulted. They were always helpful, polite and friendly and our six year old daughter thought so too, as each and every one had time for the small ones. The entertainment by the pool was great for my daughter, and indeed the water polo was great for the hubbie, giving Mam some time to relax by the pool. The evening was excellent for the kids, with a mini disco and games each evening, where the kids got to spend some more time with the excellent Kids Club Leaders. We had such a lovely time, we booked for the same two weeks again this year, and I know we will meet up with others, who were doing the same when they got home last year too.

| said: Hotel was well equiped and well run and the team on the front desk were excellent. I do however have 3 points to make to warn any new visitors.
(1) The hotel restaurant had EXACTLY the same menu as the only two other hotels nearby and the one nearby restaurant and the prices were exactly the same - this to me was not good, especially when the food was acceptable at best and certainly not cheap.
(2) The location of the hotel is poor. The only things nearby are a fairly shabby beach, a restaurant with the same menu as the hotel and an admittedly friendly bar.
(3) My main issue was the creche. We have a fourteen month old daughter who we booked in the creche for two hours a day. By the second date we, along with almost every other parent, had taken their kids out. It was run by two 16 year old girls who spent most of their time talking to each other rather than amusing the kids. When I walked in after half an hour on the first day to see five children under two crying and the girls completely ignoring them I felt I had to take her out.
To summarise, points 1 and 2 would not normally spoil the holiday if you had older kids but with a baby it did. However, the situation with the creche was totally unacceptable and as this was the main reason for booking this hotel, it is very dissapointing.
