Just returned at weekend after a marvellous revisit to the Royal Asarlik Beach Hotel, we have never in all our travels ever revisited the same hotel, but we are glad we did we were not disappointed at all, we usually travel with our grandchildren but this time just went together, the service and the hospitality from all staff made it seem like a second honeymoon

We had taken some satellite boxes for the Hotel and Mehmet the manager is arranging to have them installed in the winter period which is costing 3000 euro’s, but as he says it will give 3 separate UK channels to his guests i.e. BBC 1,or 2, ITV, or Channel 4 or 5 in rooms next season

I also understand the hotel is about to upgrade some more rooms looking at the pictures of the rooms, they will be fantastic the only downside is they will be superior rooms which will cost more, but as I said they look fantastic, and will be worth the extra cost,( I have photos if any one requires them )

As returning guests we were presented with a very nice certificate from the hotel, any returning guest will receive one, but we also got presented a certificate for a tree planted in the forest with our names on the tree, that was a really nice gesture, one of the waiters Neco even presented us with some gifts on our departure

We can definitely recommend the hotel, my only regret is that we like exploring Turkey, and don’t know if we will return to the Bodrum area next year, but a piece of my heart will always be in the Royal Asarlik, and am glad we revisited, we will without a doubt return again

Just came book from the Royal Asarlik and had a fantastic time.

The hotel was lovely. the rooms were ok air con was great in rooms.

The room we had had a rubbish view and was right next to the pumps that were so bloody noisy our room number was 1319 so if you get this room ask to be moved. We ended up putting up with it as I couldn't be bothered to pack all my stuff up to move.

Food was great a good selection so much so my little boy always found something to have he is a really fussy eater. Bar staff were great no hanging around waiting to get served, and the hotel staff were so friendly they would do anything for you.

We didnt use the pool at the hotel as it was a bit to busy there so we went to the sister hotel and used that pool it was much nicer with loads of sunbeds.

We would definatley go again looking at prices for next year.

I would recommend this hotel you wont be disappointed

When we arrived we had been allocated wrong room the first choice rep was not much good, but when the manager found out about it he was totally shocked and we were very quickly given the proper room, his help in handling the matter was outstanding and made the situation a pleasurable experience, we were even giving gifts on arrival in our room for the inconvenience we went through

The staff also I found extremely pleasant and only too willing to give help where needed

The 24 hour all inclusive was a welcome bonus and the service given by bar staff was exceptional I have been to a lot of all inclusive in Turkey and the Royal Asarlik put them all to shame

If you book this hotel and have problems speak to the guest relations team who will do all in their power to put things right

Would I go back............YES we are already considering a return in the end of September

Having seen the other hotels in Gumbet as we dropped other passengers off, we were delighted to see the Royal Asarlik Hotel. The staff were amazing from start to finish and the hotel was very plush. As we were on an all inclusive basis, it was great to drink both alcohol and other drinks whenever you wanted, 24/7. The room was very large and very clean with nice views over Gumbet bay. Towels and room cleaned every day. The roof-top restaurant was stunning but the food was just ok. We ate out 4 nites out of 7 mostly due to the fact that the same things came back on the menu and everyone was scrambling to get their dinner as quick as possible. We had one nite allocated at the al a carte restaurant but could not get a booking as they were fully booked.
The pool area was very nice but quite busy so we spent most of the time on the beach in front of the hotel. It wasn't too busy at our time of visit but we went early on in the season. I can imagine it being overcrowded as the beach is only deep enough for 3 sun-loungers.
I visited the Spa in the hotel for a Turkish bath which was great and I would recommend to anyone visiting.
Only problem with the hotel is how clean they keep it! The clean the marble floors every night with an industrial cleaner from anywhere aroud 4am - 6.30am. I complained but go nowhere so expect to have your sleep broken. All in all a fab hotel, shame about the food (though there was a hugh selection). easily 5 star.

Stayed on all inc basis and thought quality of food was fabulous. Really liked the restaurant which is on the roof and has amazing views over the bay.

The hotel is very clean, there are lads who are cleaning the pool and public areas all day long. The housekeeping staff leave fresh towels for you every day.

The location is brilliant because you can have a quiet holiday or a really rowdy one as you are just round the corner from Bar Street (its wild!)

The entertainment round the pool is good fun - you can join in or just watch whats going on. The team announce whats coming up and there always seemed to be plenty to keep you amused, though we never got round to any evening entertainment so I can't comment on what that entails, but I am sure its just as much fun as the day time events.

The staff are very friendly and nothing seems to be too much trouble. The bar staff are quick and efficient, the waiters are always busy clearing away and bringing you drinks, the reception staff pleasant. The Thomson rep (Elisha) was a darling too. Very helpful.

We did ask to change rooms as we like a quiet location and our first room was located under the restaurant which was not quiet at all, all you could hear was chairs being dragged across the floor upstairs. We asked to be moved to a quiet room and were given a bigger room at the side of the hotel with a partial sea view. The doors all have the door closers/dampers on so there's no slamming doors late at night.

We did a couple of boat trips which are brilliant value for money as you go out about ten in the morning and get back about six, this includes lunch which is a basic meal, but very tasty. Its a relaxing way to spend your day. We also had a turkish bath and a massage which was also relaxing and helped with the tan. One evening we did a trip to the Theatre Club to see the Dreamgirls and had a fantastic evening where we didn't stop laughing. All in all a wonderful holiday to Turkey.

This was our second time at this hotel, last year was excellent and we were really looking forward to another stay but I must say we were disappointed. The room we had was lovely, but not cleaned very well. There were ants all over the bed side tables. The food was good but the variation was not as great as last year, (seemed to be chicken repeatedly appearing dressed in different ways). The beach was jammed packed with beds (Like sardines) you could not move between them. The bar ran out of beer, then whisky and rum people were not very happy. Would not visit again such a shame that they have spoiled it.

We had a fabulous time in the Royal Asralik. Some of this might have been due to the fact that we were on holiday on our own after nearly 30 years!!!

We have been to Turkey 3 times and the staff were the friendliest we have even met. They genuinely wanted you to enjoy their hotel and their country. We got to know some lovely people. The Animation team came round the pool at various times of the day for pool games and they soon got to know if you didn’t want to join in and there was no pressure to do so. They all worked extremely hard. The shows in the hotel were the usual mix of nonsense and mayhem, but if you want a professional show then you will have to pay and go somewhere else. We had a laugh and joined in a lot of things. The bar staff were the speediest we have ever witnessed in Turkey. They were quick and efficient – last year at Olu Deniz it was so bad it was a joke.

The rooms were very clean and modern. There were plenty of hangers in the wardrobe and you didn’t need the card in the electric to make the hall light go on when you came in or go out. The digital air conditioning was the best we have ever experienced. You can leave it on all day and I got ours down to 16˚ C.

The paper towels and the taps in the public toilets in the hotel were automatic so there was much less chance of contracting a virus. They were cleaned thoroughly at very regular intervals. Our room was cleaned beautifully, as was the hotel throughout.

The food was very good. It was on par with other hotels that we have stayed in. It was varied and good quality. At every meal time a staff member would inspect the food and test it all with a temperature probe and record it. People do complain that it is, “samey,” after a while - but if you put a lot of different things on your plate every night then it will be. You wouldn’t do that in a restaurant – you would choose a starter, a main and then a pudding. There are only so many ways that you can cook meat and fish. We certainly never went hungry, we could always find something good to eat (my favourite was the liver and also the stuffed aubergines as I never have them at home.) The red wine was very good. It was bottled (not in those horrible big barrels) and you could have just a glass if you wanted to or the whole bottle. There was a large bottle of water on the tables at each meal time. You had to ask for ice to go with it though.

The sunbeds were wooden but were very comfortable as they had soft mattresses and head rests. There was the usual tussle for them on some days but on change over days there were plenty. The management did take a stance once or twice and threw off the towels that had been there since the early hours of the morning or the night before. Some Brits actually paid the pool staff to put them on and keep them on for them.

The Lobby bar was 24 hours and also made ham and cheese sandwiches to your specification after midnight. Before dinner there was a pianist and a violinist playing which was very enjoyable. The beach area is packed but there were always beds available and it was a very pleasant place to walk. The main centre of Gumbet was just around the corner from the Hotel front – but you would never have known it was there. It was very lively and the dancing bar boys are a sight to behold.

We would go back to this hotel as we had a lovely two weeks and it was good value for money.

Our room was cleaned to a high standard everyday. The restaurant was also very clean , we never had any problems with cleanliness. Fresh towels were left in our room everyday and there were also towels next to the pool.

The food was ok, but there was not much variety, it was not always hot but was eatable. The view from the rooftop restaurant was georgous, looking out across the bay. The photographer was very annoying as he wanted to take pictures when you were eating and also when trying to relax.

It was a very good location as it was on the beach side and was safe for children.

The staff were very friendly and were not too pushy, the kids had plenty to do and they kept them entertained.

The entertainment at night was mainly for the kids. It was a bit repetative and by the end of the 2 weeks even they were fed up with it. But the nitelife outside the hotel was very good and only a short walk away.

we would stay at this hotel again, it was the best hotel in gumbet. The spa in the hotel was fantastic, one of the best I have been to. It was close enough to the airport without any noise.

This was our first visit to Turkey and we could not picked a better hotel to stay in than the Royal Asarlik Beah Hotel and Spa. To put it in a word "Brilliant". It does not have a lot for younger children, although it has a kids club, I heard from families that the kids were left alone for periods of time.

Prior to going on holiday we read the reviews and were a bit concerned whether the hotel will be completed. I would advise readers of reviews not to believe all off them espeically the moaners. If you get one moan out 10 then these people will never be pleased. Do they live like this at home?

The hotel is the cleanest one we have stayed in, and the staff even tried to make it cleaner.

The food was excellent and was always hot and they were always replenishing prior to the trays of food were empty. It was a bit repetative, but I beleive this was due to getting nearer to the end of the season. We spoke to someone who visited at the opening of the hotel and there was more variety.

The staff were very helpful, especially Emil, our maid and Apo the hotel photographer. If you ever want a portait done, he is the one to see.

Being that the hotel is new, the staff are learning every day, So next year there will be a big improvement.

I believe that in a couple of years this hotel will be five star, nearly that now.

The beach is not white sands but shale, but no problems getting beds especially at the main pool, and they follow the sun morning to night so no need to move the beds.

If this is your first trip to Turkey, take a £10 english note per person. This is for the visa you need to get into the country. When you get to passport control there are 2 desks, one visa and one passport. You need to get in the visa line then join the passport line.

I have only one complaint, is the Airtours holiday rep. Lisa Davies. Not a good ambassador for the company, does not care about the guests and only interested in the questionaire at the end of the holiday. (bonus at end).

I would highly recommend this holiday. Hope you have a great time.

What can we say? This hotel is absolutley excellent! This is the second year running that we have been to this hotel (at the same time of year too) and neither of us wanted to go home at the end of it. The hotel is spotless, the food is great (no upset stomachs at all this time) the location is excellent... we stayed HB in the Asarlik Beach again(Not the Royal) for 2 weeks and didn't regret a thing. The new Spa and Wellness place isn't very well advertised but is lovely, a air-conditioned gym, indoor heated pool, Hamam (Turkish Bath), steam room and sauna are all free to guests, the only things you pay for is the soap scrub in the hamam and any massages you have.

We made many friends on our holiday (many outside the hotel too) but we were made to feel special by all the staff. The Animation Team wouldn't leave us alone and we ended up helping with the evening 'Sketch Shows' many a time! The Amphitheatre is a fantastic addition from last year, and the new pool is quite special - just more places to hang out!

As promised, we have some thank you's to announce, we would like to thank from the kitchen staff, ; Yunus (You made sure we never went hungary!), Yener, Mutfak, Cihan, Muhammet, Cemil, Feyri, Fali, Mahmut and Nejla, from the Waiting staff; Ali (We love you too!) Sevil (Thank you for everything) Volkan (Say Hi to Kelly for us - see you in Glasgow!), the Animation team; Mehmet (Don't stop being you), 'Sex Machine' (Good Luck in Holland!), Slyvester, DJ Zombie (Thanks for the music!), Isis and the Boys. Ismail on Reception is a very good man - give him a hug for us! And Atylym (The IT guy) - you are our best friend and we will never forget you - say Hi to Antoineta for us! X Also Tina the First Choice Rep - your really cool, thanks for your advice!

*The only thing we have to winge about is people smoking round the pool whilst your trying to relax - we can smell it you know! Just be a little more aware when you spark up with other people round you... (Try and do it downwind) many thanks!*

My last bit of advice is - go to the Asarlik Beach Hotel and find out for yourself. If you only half enjoy your holiday as much as we do - you will have a fab time! And learn a bit of the language - the shopkeepers and market owners appreciate it if no one else does!

We stayed on an all inclusive deal at the Royal Asarlik Hotel Gumbet for two weeks.

Yes, the food did get slightly repetitive towards the end of the holiday but was always well presented good and plenty of it.
The view over the bay in the evening from the roof top restaurant was magnificent.

The cleanliness of the hotel was second to none - constantly being cleaned in all areas.

The location was superb with its own beach right on the front and excellent views of Gumbet bay.

We found the staff to be friendly and helpful - even going to the shop for cigarettes for us in the evening nothing was too much trouble.

The entertainment was either on the roof top restaurant - jazz players - belly dancers or at the sister hotel next door the Asarlik beach which was hilarious.

I would definitely visit this hotel again.

We have just returned from a 2 week holiday at the Royal Asarlik Beach hotel. This was our first time in Turkey and it certainly wont be our last!

The hotel was wonderful in every way. The all inclusive meals were varied, cooked to perfection and presented excellently.

I have never been to such a clean place in my life. The staff were constantly brushing, dusting and polishing all day long, and crumbs were brushed from your table instantly.

Even the lifts were polished daily! Coming back to the staff, a friendlier bunch I have yet to encounter. They could not do enough for you. Always had a smile on their faces and the hours they worked seemed endless. We have made some wonderful friends with some of them.

I have to mention Rose, Sevil, Elvis and Apo the photographer. They made you feel so special. Now for the animation team, they were absoloutely bonkers! They kept everyone amused day and night. Another friendly bunch. They also stopped and chatted with everyone and got to know us well.

I can not close without mentioning the Thomson rep Hannah. She is the best rep we have ever had to deal with. Nothing was too much trouble for her and she too always had a smile for you. She would go out of her way to chat and ask if everything was ok or if there was anything she could do to make your stay even more enjoyable. We would certainly go back to this hotel and also recommend it to everyone we know.

Thank you to everyone at the Royal Asarlik for a fantastic holiday.

The location of this hotel is fantastic with excellent views of the bay from the rooftop restaurant.

Staff were constantly cleaning communal areas but the rooms were sometimes not cleaned until very late in the day (on one occasion it was after 6 just when we were starting to get ready for the evening).

The food was excellent with plenty of choice for us with 2 teenagers who are quite fussy but not a lot of choice for little ones & no ice-cream! which is a crime if you ask me.

The staff were 75% brilliant and 25% arrogant(would ask you what you would like then walk off and serve fellow turks instead)but soon got used to which staff were good as gold.

Entertainment during the day was good and always entertaining but the entertainment in the evenings was nothing to write home about even though they deserve 10 out of 10 for effort and as it was on the roof terrace (with the views) we did stay to watch it most nights.

Yes we would go back despite a few little niggles which you do expect with a brand new hotel in fact we've already booked to go back next year!!

One word to describe this hotel = FANTASTIC!! We had an excellent time in the Royal Asarlik.

The staff couldn’t do anymore to help you, from when you arrive the bell boys take your suitcases to your room. The staff that come round asking what would you like to drink the bar staff we excellent they tend to show off a bit by spinning bottles on the air but it is funny to watch!

The food had a good choice although quite alot of the food is native Turkish, but we always found something we liked!

Location wise is excellent it’s close to bars and shops but far enough so you don’t hear a peep!

We loved the entertainment team they had a spark to them and by the end everyone would be up doing the hotel dance, they did water aerobics then water polo and various other activates during the day and the entertainment includes music/karaoke quiz, Turkish night, scethches, dances, belly dancers etc the entertainment is on at the royal asarlik 1 night then the next it is in the sister hotel next door.

All facilities next door in Asarlik Beach are for use for everyone at the Royal Asrlik. If you have kids (who can swim) take them next door to jump off the rocks in the pool my daughter and her friend spent many days there!
The waterpark is a great day out although not many rides for young kids so don’t go with really little kids unless you are prepared to spend ages at 2 or 3 rides!

Overall the holiday was excellent and we couldn’t fault it! Royal Asarlik we will see you next summer~!!!!
