| said: Los Lentiscos are fabulous apartments for a no frills family holiday. The apartments are very basic but clean, linen and towels changed 3 times during a 2 week holiday although the maids do not clean the apartments you have to do that yourself. All staff very friendly and helpful if you need anything at all it is done straight away, we wanted extra pillows and they were brought in no time. Pool cleaned every morning and there are plenty of sunbeds. We were very lucky to get a poolside apartment as our terrace was only 10 yards away from the pool which is ideal with 2 young children. Simon the entertainer was absolutley fantastic, he was working on his own when we were there and is very talented, worked really hard and made our holiday, with great day and evening entertainment. The only downside to the apartments was there was no air conditioning and no kids club but it is only a 2 star so excellent value.

| said: Hi all,
Just returned from lost lenticos tonight and must say was on the whole pleasantly impressed with it when compared with some of the previous reviews and I am not that easily pleased.
Lets get the few bad points out of the way!
-pay to watch TV
-poor maid service
-jaccusi not open
-dated fixtures to the rooms
-couple of grumpy reception staff
-Thomas Cook reps have not got a clue!!!!!!!
Thats it negative wise...
Good points!
-Fantsatic entertainments guy in Simon, the lad cannot do enough, all day and every eveining something for both adults and kids alike to do and go everyone mingling, well done fella.
-Great location, 100 yards to the town centre and bars , restauraunts etc and it is flat there and back which is great when carrying kids!
-Nice people in the bar and good cheap fast food from the hotel bar take away
-appartments spread round central pool
-plenty of sunbeds (not much sun but cant blame them for that)
Basically it is advertised as a 2 star and thats what you get but the entertainment effort provided by Simon made up for it big style, we took our 2 girls (7&3) and they loved it to bits and frankly my wife and I have both therefore had a good holiday.
Improvements? Do the kitchen areas up a bit and ensure all the facilities are open
Bottom line is if you want a no frills place to stay that is reasonable then this is it, location is fantastic, just dont expect to be pandered to by maids on a too regular basis, however I have experienced much worse.
Go expecting the worse as we did and you should be pleasantly surprised

We would go back to this hotel again It is just right if you have children, the entertainment was very good.

However the hotel was quiet, with no entertaiment, except a parrot show.
The rooms are very basic siutable for two and a child. But that where it stops.
Maids never really cleaned rooms, just came in twice to change bedding and towels.
Well placed for bars and restaraunt, and the bus service is excellent.
Rooms do not have the space to take a family of four.
We had to live out of our cases for two weeks.
Rooms were very late 70s. (2 star it is). One week is long enough.

The food was ok but not much choice was on offer me and my family previously visited these apartments in 2005 and we liked it so much that we returned again this year. We were a bit disappointed to see that there was no kids club this year but the entertainers Koo and Hayley were brill they did the best they could considering there was only two of and five last year !! They always got people involved and were a great laugh well done girls !!
The staff were very helpful as were the reps and the resort of Cala n Forcat is just perfect for families as it is not to loud and not to quiet 10 out of 10 !!

| said: We booked as a last minute, allocation on arrival deal, for our 28th aniversary, and as we had never been to Menorca before did not really know what to expect but as we were only staying for the weekend we were not too bothered.
But we were really pleased with Los Lentiscos, especially with the accommodation which was right by the pool opposite the bar and entertainment.
The pool was clean, the staff and entertainers were friendly. Can't comment on the entertainment itself as we didn't have children with us and only spent a few hours in the day and maybe an hour or so at night in the apartments, but when we did we enjoyed it.
We especially enjoyed sitting outside our apartment on the table and chairs provided having a drink at the end of the night, as were many other people, no one was being loud just all enjoying themselves.
From what we saw this was a perfect place to go with children especially young, the majority of people staying there were families and all the children were having a good time.
The apartments were also in a very good position for the resort, everything just a short walk away.

| said: Los Lentiscos was very clean and well maintained. The one bedrom apartment we had was on the ground floor, overlooking the main pool and we had an excellent view of the entertainment area from our terrace. The room itself was OK but could definitely do with more storage space (no drawers for clothes in the bedroom, although there was a large double wardrobe with hangers provided) The kitchen area had a toaster, fridge freezer, microwave and two electric rings. Crockery and cutlery were adequate.
The maids came in twice during our stay and cleaned right through.
The entertainment staff (Simon and Koo) were great and very funny. They put on quizzes, games etc, throughout the day and excellent entertainment both for us and our children (who are 2 and 4) All the staff were very helpful and polite and spoke excellent english.
Our rep was on hand with any queries and he was very helpful too.
We would definitely book again.

| said: We booked a last minute holiday, we had never been to Menorca before and chose to stay at Los Lentiscos Appartments.
We thought the location was great not to noisy but busy enough not to feel isolated, the appartments were full the week we went but it did not feel overcrowded, with a beach just 5 minutes walk away.
The hotel staff spoke good english and called a taxi for you whenever you wanted one.
The reps Alex and Kara were brilliant always spoke to you when they saw you (attentive but not overbearing). The entertainment staff were also brilliant with day time games and quizes and evening entertainment.
The bar staff work hard with waiter service on most nights, and food most of the day and into the evening cooked fresh.
On the whole we enjoyed our stay here and would go again.
A holiday is what you make it but when the staff are good it makes a good holiday even better.

| said: The Los Lentiscos is a very well situated hotel in Cala N Forcat near to the cove and to the restaurants and bars.
Hotel is adequately kitted out with microwave and a good fridge freezer. We got cleaning about 3 times a week, but the apartments don't have anywhere for putting clothes apart from wardrobe (no shelves.) The pool area is clean but unfortunately some of the guests dropped their glasses in it from the previous night's entertainment. The entertainment was blaring and through a pa system and finished at around midnight- every night.
Menorca is a beautful island and I would advise hiring a car and getting out and about.

| said: We stayed Friday to Friday and the maid came on Monday to change the towels and clean the bath and sink and sweep the floor and the same on Wednesday but also to change the sheets. As there were only two of us this was probably adequate, but if we had come a few years ago when the kids were with us we probably would have needed the towels changed more often and definitely more cleaning. I am sure though if we had requested any more cleaning at reception it would have been dealt with as they were very, very helpful.
We couldn’t fault the location – so many bars, restaurants, shops all just around the corner, from Chinese – Indian – English – Majorcan – anything you can think of! The local beach of Cala n forcat just across the road was idyllic! A gorgeous cove which we spent most of our time. Maxis Snack Bar also across the road was absolutely fantastic, it is a lovely little restaurant and has free sun beads overlooking the sea (you don’t even have to have a drink to use them) but the food is absolutely delicious and the sunset is brilliant!

The reps Alex and Kara are easily approachable if there's a problem or you just want a chat.
My daughter had good fun in the kids club with Wayne,Donna and Jen.
The entertainments team were the best and very funny, well done Colin,Nikki and Gillian.
One minus point was the maids didn't visit as often as they should but if mentioned it to reception it was quickly sorted.
Other than than we couldn't fault it.

We were told by the rep that most people lived out of suitcases and that all rooms were the same. The second week we moved rooms and that made all the difference to our holiday......

| said: After booking our holiday last minute, we reviewed this website and were quite wary about this accommodation due to some of the bad comments which had been posted.
However, the apartments are situated in an ideal position.
The beautiful beach and cove are no more than a 5 minute walk dead opposite the complex, you are situated at the end of the main road which houses as many shops and restaurants as you could wish for in a resort location.
We stayed for a week, from Friday to Friday, and our linen and towels were changed twice during this stay, and on both visits the maid cleaned the floors throughout the apartment.
The hotel staff were always on hand and very helpful, and spoke English as second nature.
The reps, Alex and Carla were very welcoming and very approachable, and are keen to make sure your stay is to your every requirement.2 excellent sized and situated pools which are kept very clean.
Entertainment is great especially for the kids, consisting of supervised kids clubs catering for all age groups throughout day and night. The entertainment staff do a fantastic job. They amuse throughout the day and evening and have got one of the hardest jobs to entertain this many people from so many different places. Hats off to them all.
A holiday is what you make it, these people are here to help you along and enjoy.....with this in mind, we had a fantastic time and will return.

| said: We have just arrived home from a 1 week stay at the Los Lentiscos. The apartments are ideally situated for the resort amenities and the beautiful tiny cove of Cala Forcat.
However, we were very disappointed with the cleanliness of our apartment, which obviously had not been used for months and months worth of dust and grit had accumulated, on every available surface.
It is the first time I have had to wipe down dining chairs before we could sit on them. We never saw the cleaners all week and only had one change of bed linen and towels whilst there.
The kitchen equipment was barely adequate - I assume that the management do not do inventories as we only had 3 knives.
There was always a "drain stench" even though we bought bleach, sometimes it was truly disgusting.
On the plus side the pool areas were exeptional and the walkways and gardens clean.
Entertainment was good and most of the staff were very friendly and all spoke English.

No comfortable place to sit and the lighting so poor you can’t read. The apartments are not soundproof and if you had noisy neighbours you would not sleep.
The hotel is near a pleasant beach which would have no room to spare in the summer and there is a good local bus service.
Staff are helpful.
The entertainment is tacky, very loud and brainless.
I would never visit again.

Menorca as an island has very lttle to offer with only a handful of authentic restaurants throughout, so if you like British food and undesirables then book now.
However if you want a quiet relaxing holiday avoid this place and Menorca like the plague!

Apartments were really nice but cleaners really should go in rooms more often as whilst we were there she only came in on the Tuesday, we were holidaying from Sunday to Sunday. This meant that we had to keep sweeping the floor ourselves as it was filthy and towards the end we had a troop of ants trailing through our lounge.

Its a well chilled out place but two weeks there would be a bit boring if you just stayed in resort, advice hire a car and get out and about,if your worried about driving abroad dont be only a small island with one main road from end to end with resorts branching off the main road, you can hardly get lost.
Son boo beach is great for the kids shallow water with some fair sized waves.
Buses stop outside the hotel and can be quite full and just drive past.
Snorkling around the cove is good take a bag of bread with you and you will get some fair sized fish around you.
Its hot at night getting to sleep and very hot in the day in peak season it will be a lot hotter, we went last week in August and it was hot then.
All in all a good time had by all. But get a car.

As we had a young child we had asked for a quiet room which was provided, apart from being woken at 5am every morning by the binmen.
The location was very good as it was located at the end of the main street so you had no bars and shops directly effecting you however they were within easy reach.
The staff I found to be curtious and helpful.
Although we did not attend any of the entertainment (young child) we could hear it in the distance and it appeared to be good fun, the reps certainly working hard to keep people entertained.

| said: We have just returned from a 1 weeks stay at Los Lenticos. For us, our stay was wonderful and relaxing. Here they have 2 pools the 1st and largest being the more"livelier" as the stage/entertainment seemed to be centered around this pool. The 2nd was smaller but much quieter. Just beyond this pool is the childrens playground which is covered in sand making it twice as exciting for the little ones. Our two children aged 7 & 5, were totally happy with using the pool and playground. And it was great for us as our apartment was on the ground floor and facing the pool/playground.So we didn't need to leave our sunbeds at all! As some other people have mentioned on this site, the other pool was noisier and we are so glad we didn't have an apartment here. Especially as our two would start to flag about 11pm & really needed to go to bed, but the entertainment would die down about 12.
We also didn't have a problem with sunbeds around this pool, there seemed to be enough. However, we must confess that as were on the ground floor we had our own terrace (standard) and we would pop 1 or 2 sunbeds onto our terrace at night.
We had 2 changes of towels (gived plenty too)and 1 change of beds on our week stay with a clean of the floor and toilet!. I was dissapointed with a couple of minor things 1.the lack of cooking facilities ( 2 rings & a mircowave NO oven!)2. the sofa bed in the lounge was very uncomfortable ( hubby resorted to sleeping with kids while I slept with 2 matresses to help)3. the heat in the apartment at night (been mentioned before!)
All staff (spanish & English) were pleasent & helpful. The entertainment here was full (something happing all day and night) but wasn't in your face or forced upon you (but we may of thought this as we were not "on top" of the entertainers)

| said: This year was the second time we've stayed at Los Lentiscos. We loved the first trip but this was better.
The hotel had been done up since 2001. New furniture in the rooms, the tennis and football courts had been re surfaced. It was very clean and tidy.
The rooms were clean and adequeate enough but it was very hot in August so hire a fan if you need to from reception. Cleaners came in a couple of times a week which was enough.
We were right next to the pool and entertainment area so during the day it was fine but at night certain inconsiderate people liked to make as much noise as they could until the early hours.
The entertainment was excellent. The 3 entertainers, Nikki, Helen and David were great with the kids and so much went on every day that there was no real reason to go out much if you didn't want to.
The hotel is right on the edge of Cala n Forcat and it's a minute's walk to the start of the bars, restaurants and shops. It's not that big a village but there's enough going on to keep adults and kids amused.
The food is basically the same which ever place you go to. I'm sick of the sight of chips but I did enjoy them with my beer for a fortnight.
Now for the best bit...as long as you get up at about 8-8.30am you vcan get a sun lounger...yes even in peak season we could leave the kids asleep(cos we were next to the pool anyway) and enjoy a coffee in the morning and a quiet swim.
he hotel staff were friendly and very helpful.
I can't recommend this place enough for families.
If you like the buzz of the other islands Mallorca nd Ibiza then it may be too quiet...but then again you'll never get a sun lounger.

We were in a room away from the pool area but the PA was still very loud every night until midnight. There was also a problem with children running about and shouting well after midnight, come on parents, show some consideration. Entertainment appeared to be very good but not really our thing. The lunchtime poolside quiz was a winner with us though! Would consider going back again as the location is excellent and the rooms are a very good size with good facilities.

As we were on the ground floor, we were reticent to sleep with the door open and with no ventilation, we didn't sleep very well. Other than that, we all had a good time. The pool was nice and clean. One grumble is that alot of sunbeds were draped in towels (yes, by the English) although people wouldn't often come to the pool until late afternoon. The reps were very good though and announced on the tannoy that towels would be removed if people hadn't used the sunbeds for an hour and a half. This was the only way to bag a sunbed I'm afraid. Would go back again.

| said: We had a great room, situated on the side of the pool, with view of the entertainment. If you like it a bit quiet later on then you would be better away from the pool, as it gets louder about 10pm. The entertaimnet was good, but would be better it they hired more outside entertainment now and again. The rooms were great very clean, and the maid service was great. The only problem we had with the holiday was the humidity at night in the room, it was unbearable so we had to hire a fan. If you decide to hire fans do it straight away as they all go quick in the hotel. Overall I would say the complex is excellent for famalies with lots to do day and night.

| said: my wife and i spent 1week at the complex,we were put in apts away from the pool area with a lovely sea view.Quite a lively family complex so if you have children it is great! Due to us being aay from the pool area apts it was difficult to get sunbeds by the pool(British people worst than the germans for leaving towels on sunbeds)so it was a shame we did not get to use the pool area. For your info the safety deposit boxes are in reception(14 euros a week + 6 euros deposit).Luggage lockers available on last day(3.5 euros + 5 euro deposit).Overall an excellent place for those with children, otherwise i would go to a quiter complex.

| said: The Los Lantiscos appartments where very clean. We had an appartment rite ubove the stage looking onto the pool. The music would start at 10 o'clock which didn't really bother us as we were already up at that time but if you are not an early riser I wood advise you not to get an appartment near the stage.
The hotel Staff where very friendly and would help you in every way posible. The entertainers where also very good especialy if you have young children with you.
The location of the appartments was great as you where close to the shops, bars and restaraunts. I would definatly visit these appartments again as I found it alot of fun.

| said: 23.05.04 - Just arrived back from a wonderful break in Los Lentiscos. Great place to stop.
We had one of the apartments away from the pool lovely and quiet wouldnt fancy stopping in the pool side ones would be too loud especially at the height of the season.
The market on the complex is very reasonable. They also have a gym, personally the thought of exercise in that heat beats me. Another good idea is the case storage area for when you leave, for a small charge of 8 euros (5 euros deposit returned) you can lock your own cases in a personal locker. The safety deposit box is situated in the reception area which I think is a good idea, having heard about ones been removed wholesale from rooms whilst your out. I must point out these safes are very small you wont get a videa camera in it.
It is situated far enough from the centre where the bars, restaurants and shops are situated but not too far to crawl back after a few bevys. The apartments are very clean and spacious. I could believe how many times the towels were changes 4 times in 7 days, so you dont have to clutter up your case with bath towels.
The entertainment looked OK, have to admit not much in to organised entertainment as we like to stroll round the bars and restaurants. Did have a go at the bingo Ha ha and won couldnt believe it when I had to share the prize money with another winner(£160 between 2 aint bad though.
As for the staff they all seemed very happy and ready to assist. The maids were a bit of a pain in the neck, talking early morning when all you want is an extra few minutes in bed.
All in all great place to stop whether you are a couple, old /young or both

| said: Just got back from our first ever holiday on Minorca, at the los lentiscos appartments .
It is a large complex with plenty of entertainment on offer. We asked for and were given a quiet room at the back of the complex which was superb and had a sea view, although a couple we met had a pool side room and they complained a lot about the constant noise, all we heard were crickets chirping, the apartments are all only 2 floors high and arranged in semi circles we had room 122 which had all day sunshine to the balcony ( i noticed all the apartments to our left only got the sun in the afternoon). The reception staff were very helpful and one of them a young lady called Anna was even giving my wife and i spanish lessons .
In reception there is an internet machine but i would advise any one using it to make sure that they log off before the money runs out as i had a problem with someone accessing my e mail page and sending abusive e mails to my friends.
The resort itself was much more lively than i expected with quite a few bars and restaurants although most evenings were spent in the nearest pub the Yuca bar.
We booked a boat trip at one of the car hire shops for the last full day of our holiday and arrived at 8.30 only to find it had been cancelled no one let us know, so that spoiled what should have been a good day out .
There is a bus stop outside the main entrance to los lentiscos so we caught a bus to Ciutadella it only cost 1 euro each, there is a market there every fri and saturday and the old town is well worth a visit lots of shops and places to see.
The week we were in Minorca was very hot and as i expected we did get bitten a few times by mosquitos but thanks to the advice of many holiday truth readers we had a plentiful supply of vit b tablets and mozzie spray.
One thing we did notice was that the English people kept them selfs to them selfs, hardly any one spoke i would say good morning and people would just walk by as if i was invisible.
The beaches at Cala,n forcat are nothing to write home about mostly small rocky coves with sand added by jcb diggers in the winter, if you want a nice large safe beach i would suggest Alcudia in Majorca is a better choice.
My wifes best quote of the week was " if this place was any more laid back it would be comatose."
We enjoyed a week out there but both agree a fortnight would be too boring, but then we didnt have any young children to entertain and the ones we saw were all well looked after with play areas and things to do.
So if you like to chill out , this is the place for you,but only if you get a room at the back of lentiscos like we did.
All the best....Ped

| said: The hotel was big complex with good views and good rooms and had friendly staff the food was good but we ate out most of the time.
The location was also good as it was next to loads of shops and restarants.
If your looking for a quiet place then its proberly better to ask for a room at the back of the hotel, we asked for a room by the pool and we got one and it was great, so was the entertainment.
It was great for both children and adults and i had a great time and met some great people
