The food was of a good standard with plenty to choose from, You would never go hungry.
The pool was clean and there was a pool bar and burgers, hotdogs and pizza all day. Loads of Spanish (but guess what we were in Spain)
A short walk from the hotel they is plenty shops and bars to choose from.
Our holiday at the Samba was a great break and it shows dont believe everything you read!

| said: All inclusive guests were treated like second class citizens. A small area at the bar was for AI but the barmen would serve the non AI guests first.
The bedrooms could do with a revamp. Hotel food was always cold. Raw eggs for breakfast and under cooked pork etc. at dinner time.
All the crockery was chipped, how we never got food poisoning I will never know.
The hotel was on a small hill which was not a problem.
Hotel staff were not very helpful, but some of the bar staff were pleasant.
Entertainment was for the Spanish, the hotel was mainly full of Spanish guests, this wasn't a problem but a lot of them were so ignorant.
This was the first time my daughter and grandchildren have been abroad but what a let down for them, their room was next to some rowdy groups and hotel security were up most nights to tell them to keep the noise down.

| said: The absolute worst holiday ever.We went for my husbands 60th birthday which ended a disaster.
The hotel catered only for Spanish,it was full of Spanish pensioners which I would not have a problem with if they were not so arrogant as if they owned the place.
The food was disgusting only half cooked eggs and bacon that was on the odd occasion that bacon was on offer. Evening meals consisted of those tiny little fish that the spanish seem to enjoy, pork or chicken, which was always cold. We went out to eat more than we ate in.
Patio area was filthy, white plastic chairs that were never washed. Each weekend the place is overun with stag parties being allowed to do as they please.
Never ever again I prayed for my holiday to end

| said: Where to begin!! NEVER I repeat NEVER go to this hotel!
The standards of hygiene were apalling! The room stank like it was growing mushrooms! The paint was flaking off every surface & to top it all there was a 5 inch round punch hole in the hotel room door where someone had tried to punch their way in! Whilst we were down at reception 1 gentleman was reporting items being stolen from his room whilst another man was complaining about the state of his room! The staff were uninterested and advised him to contact his holiday rep!!
FOOD!! I'm not actually sure that that is an apt description for what they put out! Raw hotdogs and burgers at the pool bar & lovely see through raw "fried" eggs for breakfast with bacon you could glue stuff together with!
The entertainment was purely Spanish and so were the rest of the patrons grumpy Spanish pensioners who have no manners!
Would I vist this hotel again....? Yes if someone had a gun to my head other than this I'd rather sleep on the beach!

| said: Was pleased on arrivival to find a clean hotel. We were put on the 4th floor only to discover that there was extreme building work being carried out on the 5th floor, which we were not notified of prior to departure.
Our first and only meal in the hotel was so disgusting, we never returned. The food was so under cooked and cold that it was a health hazard. When I conplained I got told to "put in in the microwave". It was not only needing heating up, it was needing cooked. The snack bar consisted of burgers, pizza, beans, crisps and bread which were all cold or stale as sitting in the open air from 10am till 10pm.
Son (aged 11), and a 2 year old boy were assaulted by the security guard, management were not interested when we complained.
The whole family, along with half the rest of the hotel all came down with sickness bug for 48 hours. People were standing vomiting outside the hotel it was that bad.
There was no entertainment for the british. They had spanish entertainment on in the large entertainment hall, where they closed the bar to all inclusive and sent us down stairs to a "cave" which you needed a torch to see throught the cigarrette smoke as there were no windows, fans, or air conditioning. The drinks had black clay stuff floating in them. When enquiring about this, was told by a british bar owner in the town that it sounded although the pipes were dirty and this could lead to a very sore tummy.
The best entertainment of the week was on our last night there. An electrical storm lit the place and was spectacular over the hill.
I have never been so relieved when our coach transfer arrived for us to take us home.
Would I ever go to Hotel Samba (Samenella) again?? Never - even if given as a gift.
Butlins in Britain here we come - it has totally put us off Costa Brava.

| said: Hotel Samba LLoret De Mar, good looking from the outside reception efficient and helpful, tour rep brilliant.
Food for british very bad presentation, hardly edible, no English bacon, sausage or decent eggs. Lack of staff. Reasonable continental however not the 3 star we where led to believe. In general food was thrown together and showed a lack of interest in the holiday makers requirements, I believe this reflects the management of this hotel
Location on a hill with noisy deliveries and constant coach activity, smokers lined the outside of the building so no clean air in or out.
Hotel staff where polite but harrased, and the usual curt response from the Spanish men.
Entertainment was the same old German band music that seemed to be the norm most nights for the blue rinse, or the competative waltzers. Magician needs attention in more ways than one he would not entertain me anywhere, I would question his professional status.
The British pub was down stairs full of smokers and very dark and smelly, poorly lit and dirty in places.
You would need to go out for entertainment
Value for money as this was a cheap holiday I would give a 60% value rating.

| said: The hotel was acceptable as far as being kept clean was concerned.
Only rated food one as it was the lowest score available the food was not only disgusting but dangerous to eat as often undercooked cold and the cheapest most horrendous food available.
The staff and management had never heard about food hygiene or food safety we changed the hotel name to salmonella.
Hotel location was fine if you are able to clime hills
Hotel staff bar staff rude ignorant and arrogant especially towards either the British or all inclusive guests Drinks service was diabolical only one very small area serving all inclusive drinks and one bar staff at most times who was often called to away to service cash paying guests or do cleaning duties.
If you like to be treated a second class person this is very much the hotel for you
Entertainment absolute rubbish same Spanish duo three nights and their Cd on the forth night.
The bar downstairs had entertainment more suited to British but you had to go upstairs for drinks and wait at least 10mins to get served.
There is no way on this earth or beyond would I ever even consider for ten seconds going back to this hotel and only wish I had taken time to read some reviews before booking.
If this appears to be a bad review if anything it under states the treatment we received it could be a wonderful hotel if they were to change the management and bar staff who have no idea how to treat people.
Advice to anyone considering this hotel DONT!

| said: We got back last night and it was the best feeling ever, Ive never been on holiday and wanted to come home as much as I did when I was there, we hated every minute of it.
The hotel was massive, they only cater for the Spanish
The food is all cold, meats not cooked still blood coming out of it
nothing English.
Cockroaches in the bedrooms and toilets. Hotel on top of a hill so every were you went was up and down BIG hills all day.
Staff very rude. No entertainment well there was if you were Spanish there was a singer every night singing in Spanish.
I’d never visit the hotel again even if it was FREE. No bar's around the pool for your drinks no snacks as they say. AWFUL!

| said: As we arrived at Hotel Samba we were pleased with the look of the hotel and the reception area was also nice, so fine for 4 girls on a holiday.
We arrived to the smallest room ever that should have had one person in it never mind 4! All the beds were pushed together and there was no walking space we had to walk across the beds to get to the door, bathroom or balcony. The balcony was not level and sloped downwards there was also a big chip off it. On our first day the door lock broke meaning anyone could walk in and take what they wanted hotel reception did not care and told us to stay in the room as no one would be coming to fix it. This happened at least twice. The electricity also went in the room meaning no lights, air con, or ability to use the plug sockets (and there was only one!)
We were all inclusive and the food was awful, I didn't expect much and I'm not really a fussy eater but the meat was undercooked even the chicken there was very little choice and was mainly for the Spanish guests at the hotel.
This shows the tone of reception staff- Rude, unhelpful and couldn't care less as they basically told us it was our fault the electricity and lock was broken.
Lloret itself is not nice the streets are dirty, people are very rude the night life is ok but be warned they say you buy one drink to go in the club and when you queued up its €20 a night to get in with a drink but when you get the bar its only selected drinks. I'm not a fussy person and the hotel was only meant for a base. I've stayed in many basic yet nice hotels before but this was far from that- Stay Away!!!!!!

| said: Hotel was very clean, when we arrived our rooms had been over booked so they allocated us three double insted of two triple.
The day after we were called to reception to see the manager who was not a very nice man he accused us of stealing one of his rooms and said we demanded one and threatened to throw us out of the hotel if we did not give him his room back. We called a rep to come and sort it out but she said it is a waste of time talking to him .
Other than that we had a good holiday ,food not up to much if you like cheese, ham chicken livers and fish every day,
Then your ok entertainment for Spanish they think they are priority. You are not allowed to make a sound in your room if you do they threaten you with the police, so if you want a very quiet holiday then you can use this hotel.
If you smoke you have to go outside it is a no smoking hotel but they dont tell you.
I would go back to Costa Brava its a lovely resort.

Accomodation very clean maid came every day. Could not fault the staff.
The only problem we had was that we went on a Wednesday and the resort only opened at the weekend.
Would not go again but not because of the hotel. Just have been and seen it and done that there was to do.

Lovely hotel in a great position, the only thing I would say walking down into Lloret itself was fine coming back up the hill was a bit of jaunt especially as we had an elderly person with us,otherwise could not fault it.
Friends of ours did stay half board and the rooms were a bit small and they had no air con. So anybody booking needs to request air-con it's a must. Our other friends stayed at the Bolero over the road their sister hotel, but were allowed to use all the facilities at the Samba.

| said: Stayed here for two weeks on a half board basis.
The room itself was really small just enough space to squeeze between the beds.
The food itself was alright out of the 2 weeks we were there we ate in the restaurant approx 4/5 times, we found eating out more tempting.
The pool itself was good but got very busy and if you didn't have a sunbed by 10am you were snookered!
Rep at the hotel was a little too cocky, but he did do his job.
Hotel staff were friendly and pleasant.
My friend however found that some of her clothing went missing so maybe just keep an eye on your good clothes.
