we had 14 nights at the solemar appartments ...very clean & spacious , furniture a bit dated but kitchen well equiped .had maid service every day.apartments built into hillside therefore no view whatsoever from the bedroom .plenty of sunloungers but pool had leaves in it . excellent location for the shops bars & restaurants which were close by & good bus service to rhodes right outside hotel.however the hotel is on a very busy road which is very difficult to cross to get to the beach .staff very very friendly & gabriele in the bar makes the best irish coffees !. cant comment on food as we didnt eat in hotel .

Just got back from staying at the Solemar Hotel Ixia. Stayed for 11 nights and had a fantastic time. All the hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel was spotless as was the pool and outside area. There was also a bar outside near the pool which also served good meals throughout the day. The rooms were cleaned daily with clean towels and bedding. We stayed half board and the food was good with plenty to choose from. We would definitely go back to the Solemar Hotel.

On entering our room at the Solemar Hotel in Ixia the first thing I noticed was the bath had dirty marks on the edge of the bath, and the shower curtain had mouldy patches all over from top to bottom which was clearly visible when the curtain was drawn right across. The whole bathroom was outdated and definately needs upgrading as the fixture and fittings were either rusting or coming apart.

The description of the hotel room on many websites are of the room having flowered balconies. When we went on our balcony attached was what used to be flowers but were now just dead plants and previous guests cigarette stubs which as you can imagine was not a pretty sight. Our room had a small balcony wide enough just to fit a patio chair. The patio furniture consisted of two white chairs and a small table that were in desperated need of a good clean. Luckily I had brought antibacterial wipes.

The bed sheets were not change everyday and when we did get clean towels some were not clean and had brown marks, luckily fpr us we had brought our own towels.

The hotel provided a fairly good selection of food which was always drenched in oil. The selection of hot food that was on offer was not clearly marked or not even labelled as to what it was, therefore making it very difficult to decide whether to put it on your plate or not. This was not helpful if you were a vegetarian of just didnt eat something in particular.

The staff were always very friendly towards us and were very helpful.

The location of our hotel was fine as the bus stop was right outside and took us straight into Rhodes Town.

Hotel + apartments spotless, hotel a bit dated, apartments we stayed in 55 spot on.

Didnt try the food but everyone who did seemed to have no problems. Hotel/apartments in good location in middle of bars, restaraunts (I recommend coconut, Jason to the right of hotel, Napoli 10 minutes to the left).

Ps You don’t need to be up at the crack of dawn for sunloungers would you believe after 8.45 am in July/Aug and still plenty to be had.

We stayed at this hotel for 2 weeks and we were very dissapointed with some aspects. the hotel is in a good location but the food was a big let down and the choice was very poor.

The staff were polite except two particular members of staff on reception who went out of their way to be unhelpful. you pay 80 euro for the air con which is a godsend in the heat, but it has only just been fitted and we had on two occasions were the electricity went off for about half an hour because supply overload.when you are in your bedroom it was very noisy because staff do not instruct the guests that you need the key to lock your door when leaving the room, as a result people were constantly slamming the dooors which was very annoying particulary if you have children as this noise can easlily scare them.

The pool area was good with plenty of sunbeds to lie on, But there was a funny notice by the pool which read( this pool has no lifeguard if in difficulty please contact reception)

For the extra money I would have stayed in the Oceanic hotel which is 5 minutes away and people were always praising it for quality.
