Bungalows clean but really dated and a shabby looking.

Upstairs balcony door was broken, reported it and it took about three trips to reception to get it fixed, wouldn't move us rooms either.

Food was terrible and I mean it was really bad, we ended up eating out every night because we just couldnt eat anything, we tried to brave it during lunches as we hadn't taken that much cash but I got the worst bad stomach and the day after so did my boyfriend.

I'm convinced it was from the curried veal that I tried because I was so hungry! I'm not a food snob either, and not picky, but this was a joke.

The drinks were OK, all cheap versions of everything but will get you drunk.

No entertainment in the evening. Staff miserable mostly.

If you do want to watch TV take euros with you because you have to pay!

We had booked for another hotel but were moved 2 days before travelling. We were disappointed as our original hotel was chosen for its location and the Green Oasis is stuck in the middle of nowhere on its own.

The food was limited but you could always find something to eat & the all day snack bar was ideal for the children who were kept occupied & entertained almost all day by the mini-club which was excellent.

The hotel & rooms were kept very clean. The maids cleaned the outsides(paths, seating areas, etc)until 10am & the moved into the rooms. They filled their bucket from special taps outside & not in the rooms at 8.15am as someone had mentioned in another review.

We didn't pay 5 star prices & didn't expect 5 star luxury. For the price we paid we had a bargain!
Yes we did eat out a few times but that was our choice not because the food was inedible.

Definitely good value for money.

We went here as a last minute cheapo holiday and got what we paid for. The rooms were basic and could do with a bit of a spruce up, mould round the bath, doors hanging off, front door lock not working and wires exposed in the bathroom. The pools were OK, the kids were in the main one most of the time but I would think it would be like a soup in the busy times though. I thought the food was OK and we never went hungry but again I knew it was not the Ritz. The bar at night time was a joke with one barman on and only 2 drinks per person at a time I just hope they put on more bar staff in the summer. There was 2 outside bars but only one open when we were there. I knew where the hotel was and it takes about 20-30 mins to walk to the beach and 10 mins to Faro 2 shops or Holiday World. There is a free bus to the beach so we used it a few times. Never had any probs with the staff and always spoke when I spoke to them. As I said I knew what I was paying for and as it worked out at £50 for the 4 off us per day I thought it was an OK deal.

Well what can I say we had booked two two bedroom apartments the reception staff informed me I was wrong even though I had the booking voucher to prove it!!

We were given three one bedrooms no where near each other the night staff told us this was only for one night we could change this first thing. NO!!

We were then told we couldnt even have three together so kids and adults doted all over the place .

I found the two bedroom apartments at the back of the hotel all EMPTY and derilict.

The rooms were not the up to much and the cleaner comes in at 8.15 am to fill her bucket with water if your awake or not !!

The food was fine no bad or not good average realy but the restaurant does get very busy at 9.00am we had to que for a table.

The location I felt was very isolated we had to take a taxi every where no much in short walking distance
but we had small kids who wouldnt walk far,but there is a bus which runs to the beach and is FREE.

As for the staff well to be fair half the recepion staff were brilliant kind and helpful were the other half blamed everything on anyone they could think off the night staff would tell you to come back in the morning the morning staff blamed the night.

REMEMBER the drink is free so poor bar and waiting staff dont get many tips and are very gratefull when they do and friendly.

we never went to the entertainment on the whole food fine room below average most of the staff nice.

We have just returned from a 2 week holiday/honeymoon with our 3 children and although on arrival the reception staff where very nice and polite some members where less enthusiastic at times !

We felt although we were the in 2 star acccommodation the rooms were slightly below standard eg broken television, broken shower head, non working socket outlets, non working light fittings and the 2 over bed lights were dangling/broken !

Some socket facias were loose and exposed wires could be seen !However these were rectified the following day ( no matter what star accommodation you're in there should be some sort of standard and in this complex some apartments were far better than others) although we had 6 sinks and 2 baths in the 2 rooms we were allocated we did not possess 1 plug and the patio doors to enter the rooms needed a shove and a push in the right direction by a strong male, how the maid got in is beyond us !

We did book this holiday/honeymoon some 10 months in advance and requested rooms with a pool view, which we were assured by cosmos that it would not be a problem !

What we actually got was a main road view with the added bonus of a 24 hour texco petrol station thrown in free of charge !

Evening entrertainment differed for adults and on occasion was not too bad but the kids mini disco was very repetetive and there was nothing for teenagers, much to the disgust of our eldest daughter !

Both the pool bar and the evening bar seemed a tad understaffed at times but the food was of a good standard but fell a bit short for the children.

On a lighter note you could always jump into a taxi and for 3 euros head to the Yumbo centre in palya del Ingels and visit the many Bars including ricky's cabaret which is more entertaining(but not free).

On the whole the hotel was clean and pleasant to stay in but in need of modernisation in certain areas of the complex and also if you are happy to tolerate all 3 languages in a row to explain waterpolo in the main pool!

Personally we would not visit again.

After reading some good and bad reports on the green oasis, we arrived with baited breath. Needless to say we had lovely week there, the duplex apartments are quite small, glad we were family of 3 rather than 4!!!

Food was ok,but selection very limited, but we do like salads. desserts were plentiful, kids menu non-exsistant, but fed our little girl at snack bar or went to faro 2 for nuggets and chips.

The hotel is totally geared to looking after the germans/dutch and spanish, down to entertainment. A

lot of germans/dutch there when we were there, and alot of spainish arrived for the weekends! The kids club was good, 10.30-13.00hrs, 15.30-17.00hrs.

We only paid £700 for the 3 of us to go A.I.

We went to a 2 star complex and got 2 star treatment, those who are moaning pay for 5 star accomadation please!!

After reading reviews of this hotel I was a bit worried as to what we would find.

Our arrival was quick and easy and to my delight we had been put in Block C which I asked for when booking the holiday this is i now know because the block is furthest away from the main entertainment part so its nice and peacful in the evenings.

The apartment was quite small I thought and was a little dark inside wouldnt be any good for larger families and we did struggle with space but it was clean and did its job!

Food was ok nothing special but we didnt have any problems eating it although they do need a bit more selection for kids (well a lot really there was hardley anything) but we managed!!!

Hotel had a lot of other nationalities there as well.
we didnt use the hotel kids club so i cant comment on that nor did we see much of the entertainment apart from a couple of mini discos!!!

The complex is quite a way out from the beach and shops the hotel does have a courtsey bus to the beach daily and we also found taxis really cheap and easy to get (there was always a few waiting outside reception) the beach is ok but Ive been to nicer. There are plenty of shops but failing that for 3 euros you can taxi into Playa del Ingles were there is a lot more going on.

Also not far from the hotel is holiday world which is fab for families and cheap as well we spent a few nights here and the kids loved it.

All in all we had a good time the complex is clean and the staff were friendly but saying that we would not return to this hotel but more for the fact that we like to try different places.

This complex is not well located for the centre of Maspalomas.

The apartment was basic and some of the furnishings had seen better days.

Staff were unfriendly and service with a smile was not on the agenda.

The pool area was very crowded, lots of noisy children and the entertainment was reminiscent of 1960's Butlins.

All drinks were served in plastic tumblers and there was only ever one bar attendant on duty at a time. To get a drink in the evening, not only did you have to negotiate the "Phoenix Night" style cabaret, there was a mile long queue to get to the bar. We spent as little time here as we possibly could.

This was to have been a relaxing New Year break but the strains of the tannoy summoning the kids'club each morning was more than sufficient to send us scurrying to the taxi rank.

I would definitely NOT return here nor would I recommend it unless your idea of a fun holiday is mixing with holiday makers British and foreign who like to communicate at the tops of their voices and run you down with baby buggies. And by the way if you fancied a quiet night in, the satellite TV only broadcast in German after 8p.m.

We stayed here in Nov 05, I was a bit worried having read a few bad reviews on other sites. It wasn't as bad as we thought it was going to be. Food was ok normal sort of thing you expect with AI, lots of lovely salads, veal, fish, chicken and pork, they really tried with the veg making sure there was something different every night we even had King Prawns in their shells and Paella one lunchtime.

Drinks were ok always served in plastic glasses apart from in the dining room. They only semed to have the basic rum, gin, whisky, vodka, beer and a couple of cokctails there was no equivalent of Bailys.

Lovely gardens and it was all quite clean, 3 pools all ok and we only saw 1 cockroach during the 9 days. Most of the satff were happy and helpful just a couple of grumpy ones.

Evening entertainment was a disaster all done in 3 languages as there were an awful lot of Germans on the complex and a few Spanish. Until you've played bingo in all 3 languages you haven't lived! It was all very amateurish and I would not recccomend it. People seemed to have fun with the daytime activities, pistol shooting, archery, water polo etc.

Hotel was a bit isolated, beach about a 20 min walk away but there was a free bus during the day. Taxis were cheap so it wasn't really a problem but could add a lot to the cost of your holiday if used all the time.

I would go again if the price was right. We stayed at the Holiday Village Viva in Majorca earlier in the year and this wasn't a patch on that but we paid a lot less here. I think you get what you pay for.

The weather wasn't great when we were there it poured down for one whole day and the sun disappeared at 2pm everyday but it was still warm enough to swim in one of the three gorgeous outdoor pools. Each pool has a kiddies pool which is about 1ft deep with a kind of jacuzzi bubble affect. There are palm trees all around the pools which give it a nice relaxing feeling of being on holiday.

The onsite kiddies playground is not very good for anyone under 5 as the climbing frame is very high and not well guarded, I had to go up with my 2 year old daughter. The sand in the playground is a bit dirty too.

The all inclusive drinks are fantastic, beware of the cocktails they are lethal, I had to be "put" to bed one night after one too many!! The green oasis cocktail is beautiful as is the pina colada, they do not measure the amount of alcohol though so watch out!

I found the staff to be pleasant. As our daughter was just turned 2 she was marked down as a child and therefore they did not have a cot in the room for us when we arrived at 11.30pm so we had to wait until the following day to get one so be aware of this if your child is over 2 and you want a cot. They did get it to us the next day without us having to remind them.

The entertainment team were fantastic for our 2 year old there are around 4 members and they all take turns at being the clown for the kiddies disco every night which is nice for a bit of a change and probably nice for them too that they don't have to be clowns everynight!! They put on a brilliant show "Blues Brothers" they mimed to the music but it was fantastic and my husband couldn't keep his eyes off the pretty girls in the show! There is a mixture of nationalities staying at the resort, english, irish, scottish, dutch, german, so the Entertainment team work very hard introducing everything in all 4 languages, I am amazed at how fluent they are and how well it works out.

There was a fashion show another night but the clothes on sale afterwards were very expensive! There was a parrot show, beware of this man he forces the parrots into your hand and before you know it you are getting your photograph taken and it costs €8.00 luckily we didn't mind but some people were complaining about it.

The only complaint I would have is about the food. I am fussy but my husband isn't and even he had some reservations some days. Sausages are not sausages as you or I know them, they are more frankfurters and smoked. The bacon is also slightly different and is also smoked. The boiled egg yokes are grey around the outside??? I lived on croissants for breakfast (although the butter is more like lard) salad and chips for lunch, and plain pasta with grated cheese for dinner. There was pork chops one night which my husband loved and there was turkey another night which we both liked. The snack bar does lovely snacks like pizza chips and burgers it also does those weird frankfurter type sausages too and cold salads.

The staff are friendly and even appreciated my (albeit very bad) attempt at Spanish!

The resort is located quite far out so we had to get taxis everywhere. We did attempt on our planned trip to Puerto Rico to get the bus there but when directed by reception to the bus stop we couldn't find it! So we flagged down a taxi that cost €18.00. We managed to get a bus back for €1.80 and I even found a McDonalds which I was delighted with. Puerto Rico is a beautiful resort well worth a visit and apparently there is a boat ride to a nearby (little Venice) village called Mogan which is well worth a trip but we didn't manage to do that.

Do not go to San Fernando shopping centre it is really run down and there is not much to offer. Yumbo Shopping Centre in Playa del Ingles or Faro 2 are the shopping centres to go to, there is also a promenade of shops on the far side of the light house at Maspalomas Beach which is well worth visiting. We bought a digital camcorder for nothing down there and everyone over here is very impressed, even our local electrical shop! If you are a shopping freak the place to go to is Las Palmas but it is a good hour journey on the bus and we didn't go with our 2 year old.

Beware of timeshare people everywhere, they approach you pretending to be advertising a shopping centre or with scratch cards and want to whisk you away in a taxi - do not go with them.

Playa del Ingles is very nice to visit if you are into the nightlife. There are pubs everywhere and my hubby was delighted to catch the liverpool match in Mulligans Bar underneath the Green Fields Aparthotel. This is the Irish centre and great fun.

We read the reviews on this resort before we left on how dirty it is and how it is rife with cockroaches. We saw one - outside! If you are fussy about this then I can't see where you could go on holiday! They were constantly cleaning up around the resort and the rooms were cleaned 5 days of the 7, if we were in they left towels outside on our patio furniture. There is a small patio outside which, if little wet feet are on it is very slippy as is the inside as the floors are all tiled. The houses themselves are very spacious for a small family, the bedroom has a huge wardrobe and two single beds together to make a double. This is located upstairs and has a window with a small balcony suitable for hanging out your washing. There is a bathroom upstairs with a shower, bath, toilet and handbasin, then downstairs is a livingroom come kitchen with a separate toilet and a sofa bed in the living room. There is a payperview tv which is €1.00 per hour and there is the cartoon network and bbc sky channels, as well as sky movies 1.

There are a couple of resident cats that are very friendly but seem hungry all the time. There is a box on the reception desk collecting money for their food so feel free to donate!

There are two computers available for internet use, but they are taken up in the evening while the kids shows are on by the teenagers as I would imagine this is the only fun there is in the evening for a teenager! It costs €1.00 for 16 minutes.

We had a nice holiday here, hope you do too.
