We stayed here for one night, so as to be near the airport and also have a good look round Stonetown after our 2 week honeymoon in Tanzania and other parts of Zanzibar.

Serena Inn was fine, has a nice pool, which is handy to wash of the dust and heat of the town after your walk round Stonetown.

We were given a honeymoon "suite". Which was a room with the usual HUGE Zanzibari bed, and not much room for anything else! We had a massive corner balcony with a hammock on it and a great sea view. At about 6pm, local kids were playing on the beach below us... a joy to watch them!

We didn't eat at the Serena, although the restaurant there is highly rated.

The staff are good. Friendly, helpful, etc. We were leaving at 5.45am, and they brought us a breakfast of toast, danishes and coffee to our room at 5.30 - which was a nice touch. Also, they'd left a huge platter of fruit (all really well wrapped) in our room, with a nice welcome note on our arrival.

The bathroom was tiny. But clean. I did wonder what the normal rooms were like if ours was a "suite".

Good place to stop over. No complaints!
