| said: Just returned from an A/I week's stay in Luca Costa Lago. Hotel very clean, room cleaned daily. Hotel dated compared to 4* star hotels we have previously stayed in in Canary Islands. Food dire. Bar needs to be sorted out if A/I, only drink you can get is pool bar, not good if raining or weather not good. No fridge in rooms which considering it is rated as 4* I have never experienced in the canaries. Hotel staff very nice which I suppose makes up for some of the bad points. Very relaxing enjoyable holiday but would not return due to the lack of standards we have previously experienced. Definitely not a 4* in our opinion but maybe because we are used to better. Saying that we had a good holiday but not cared for the English.

| said: Read reviews for this hotel only after booking and really was expecting to have a disappointing holiday.
However, very pleased with the hotel and had a superb holiday - please don't be disallusioned by previous comments as it may well depend on time of year and holiday party.
The cleanliness of the hotel was excellent and the rooms were great. We had a seperate lounge area and balcony which is very handy if your partnes is a snorer...clean towels daily and sheets three times weekly.
Although fish, chicken, pork and veal were the main meal choices, the fish was excellent and always filleted to perfection with lovely flavours.
The only problem with the desserts are that they are repetitive but you always had a choice of moist cakes, ice cream, fruit (3 types of melon)or oranges - sadly no grapes, apples or bananas ever.
The hotel is well located for the train and buses, bus stops outside and main train line from Malaga to fueingerola is a ten minute walk (slightly uphill).
You can have a lovely walk along the seafront into torremolinos taking approx. 10-20 minutes.
Staff were always very polite and helpful and frequently go out of there way to help. Although they do not wait on with drinks if you are AI this is understandable as the waiters rely on tips to make up their salary.
We would most definitley return to this hotel.
I hope this review is helpful.

| said: Luca Costa Lago Torremolinos - this is our second visit to the Costa Lago this time. We were in a much newer block and the room was perfect, quiet, spotless.
Nevertheless the entertainment was poor, the magician and the flamenco being the only exception.
This hotel is not exclusively A/I you would assume that the management would encourage the b&b and half board guests to linger and enjoy said entertainment. OH NO just the opposite thus driving everyone into town. We beleive the A/I tariff is discouraging guests from staying in and enjoying a drink for which they have already paid for. The bar staff treat guests with a wrist band as second class and will not bring you a drink. Is this RIGHT?
Now the food, we enjoyed breakfast and lunch, best meal of the day, but dinner was dire, pork or chicken no flair ,fish mostly on the bone. Desserts same every night for 14 nights nothing hot. Poor 4 star menu compares with other 3 stars we have visited.

| said: The only thing you can call all inclusive in this hotel is the drink the food was a joke. The only snacks was a very little cold buffet and that was outside.
Whether it was raining or sunshine no snacks after 8.45pm at night - what good is that when you have had a beer ? The food was a disgrace what was on was cold. There was no bar inside until 6pm at night. You have to go outside and if it was raining as it does in December you go without.
The bedrooms were a little dated but were clean and sleepable.
I can honestly say I would not recommend this hotel to any body and I definitely will not be returning.

| said: This is a very well run hotel, the staff could not be more helpful, all area's of the hotel are clean and kept to a high standard.
As a four star hotel it really let's itself on the food side my wife and myself don't expect out of this world food and can eat almost anything put in front of us but not when it is cold and in some cases half cooked. Not much in choice chicken cut up and fried next day chicken in a sauce, pork and fried bread rolls that had been left over from breakfast. Even the salid was very poor in choice. The dinning room was very clean no complaints. It's a shame about the food because we have done all inclusives for many year's and this was a poor effort.
As for the entertainment not worth stopping in for. Sunday night is night off for entertainment but I don't have a night off I am on holiday to be catered for.
Bar service was very good but it is early in the season and the hotel was not full. Not many Brit's but I didn't have problem on that front.
One thing I really found not very good and I don't suppose you could blame the hotel, for on the side of the hotel I was staying on there is some kind of small hospital. One morning we were coming out of our room to go for breakfast looking down into the hospital grounds two nurses were pushing a trolley with a dead body wrapped in a sheet into a different section of the hospital, not the kind of thing to get the day of to good start.

| said: First impression, hotel excellent, staff very smart and very helpful.
After going to our room we looked over a hospital and got the sun in the morning, asked if we could change, this they did for us at no extra charge and girls on reception very good and helpful.
Entertainment very poor, nothing happening most nights, for an all-inclusive even local brands not included,ie Baileys and Malibu. Staff once again excellent.
Food ,cold and generally not much selection.

| said: Stayed here for 10 days in July 2005 on All Inclusive basis. We are a party of 2 adults and 2 children, ages 9 and 4.
Arrived after midnight and a buffet meal had been left out for us.
Our room was actually like 2 separate bedrooms separated by a bathroom which was a pleasant surprise. Standard t.v with only 2 English language channels - one for kids would have been useful. We were on the 4th floor overlooking the pool.
The hotel & bedroom were well air conditioned and the safety deposit box was free.
The food was buffet style with plenty of choice at breakfast lunch and dinner. There was a carvery with either pork, beef or chicken most nights & also plenty of pasta dishes which suited my kids. The Hotel was visited by lots of Spanish holiday makers as well as Dutch, French and German. British holiday makers were definitely in the minority.
Probably the only disappointment with the food was the 'snacks' available on this All-Inclusive. There were no burgers, toasties, chips or hot-dogs as we have had on previous All-inclusives, only crusty rolls with cold meat or cheese. Although this is probably healthier, it's not really what the kids would choose. There was also no ice-cream/lollies or crisps available All Inclusive.
There is a bus stop right outside the hotel and the train station La Colina a 10 minute walk away.
When we first arrived, the entertainment in the hotel was virtually non-existent with one game of bingo taking over an hour because of all the different languages it had to be read out in but as the holiday went on things did get better. There was the usual Parrot Show, Flamenco Dance etc and a mini disco for the kids.
Although I did enjoy my stay at the Luca Costa Lago, I probably would not choose to go there again as I felt there could have been more happening for the kids.
The Kids Club rep was Spanish and although she tried really hard to include the British kids, most kids at the club were Spanish so the language barrier caused a bit of a problem doing all the activities. There was a pool table but nowhere else that the older kids could gather.

| said: I was very impressed overall with this hotel. We arrived at 11 pm and had missed dinner, however the hotel had been very thoughtful and had left a cold buffet for us.
The hotel was very nicely situated and although it is a bit out of Torremolinos town - My husband and I really enjoyed the nice walk along the beach.
I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.
They had a receptionist called Enrique who was extremely helpful and friendly.

| said: This is an excellent hotel but it is about 2 miles from Torremolinos town centre but there are lot's of bars in the immediate area. The hotel is situated about 300 metres from the beach.
The hotel is very modern and clean with all the facilities you would expect from a 4 star hotel. The room we were allocated had a seperate bedroom and a living area with TV (mostly German/Spanish channels), air conditioning and a balcony. The bathroom was excellent with a shower and bidet.Rooms where cleaned daily to a high standard. The pool area was also very good with plenty of sunbeds to go round and a nice snack bar.
The food in the restaurant was of buffet style with a good variety of choice including a carvery area.
This hotel has a high proportion of Spanish and German guests but I would have no hesitation in returning here again.
