It is 5 star for cleanliness, selection & presentation of food, and organisation. The staff, without exception ALL fall into a star rating somewherte between 10 & 12, as they say in Yorkshire "ee by gum they were great". No complaints whatsoever from us & if anyone else does just remind them that places like Blackpool & Benidorm exist.

| said: upgrading to all inclusive proved to be a great choice (probably not for our waist line) food fantastic with theme nights and excellent quality of produce and expertise by the many chefs who prepared different meals in frount of you every night. staff efficent and welcoming always ready to share a joke and make sure your dining experience was a pleasure.
Large air conditioned rooms tea/coffee making facilities marvelous views over the bay, maid service to a high standard. Superior standard throught the hotel main reception /public areas, pool area attractive and we had no problems getting sunbeds any day.
Location may be quiet for some but if your after total relaxation this hotel provides big time.
The is no question the staff make the hotel, the manager,Nikos, leads by example, his staff respect him and give their 'all' to the holiday makers treating everyone as individuals and meeting their needs to the full. What more can I say, enjoy the Gala night at the end of your stay and bring your camera !!!!
Thomson reps Ross and Ross great entertainers who sing, dance and organise day events with humour, I hope they stay on for next season as they are great. Resident band Almas know what the crowd enjoy and work hard. Outside entertainment includes acrobats brill), comedian and Greek dancing.
I would recommend this hotel to any one , no kids!!! got to be worth paying a bit more for the peace and quiet.

The staff are friendly and professional and everyone tries very hard to please. Ross, Ross and Sofia worked their socks off to make sure everone enjoyed themselves and they are all talented people who should be famous one day! Almaz, the resident duo supported each evening. There were traditional Greek dancers, comedians (3 very different ones) and an acrobatic team whilst we were there, as well as the gala night. We would definitely visit this hotel again, high praise from us as we don't usually go back to anywhere. This hotel is good either for a relaxing break or as a base for getting out and about, but there is no need to as you can choose to get involved with the organised activities - or not.. your choice.

| said: I travelled with my mum and arrived back last night, back to cloudy England. The holiday was just perfect, and I would say the best hotel I have ever been to. I agree with the present rating of being a 5 star hotel. The staff all very very friendly helpful and always smiling even though they work such long hours seven days a week. The restuarant provided a variety of choice, and to the best quality. The room was very big and so was the bathroom and the balcony. The entertainment team were very jolly and lively, even the ones which left soon after we arrived, Kirean and Sam. On their last day they and two others entertained us with a top performance show of singing, dancing and acting. They were all very professional. You did not need to get up to early to get a sun-bed as there were usually a few spare ones, and if not then the beach always seemed to. The beach in easy reach, just off the hotel. I would certaining consider returning at some point in the near future.

| said: The hotel itself is lovely - prime beach location with great views out to sea. Our room was spacious and clean with lovely touches, such as a four poster bed.
The pool is enormous and very attractive. The sun bed reserving is incredibly irritating, and even though the hotel's literature states that towels on unoccupied sunbeds will be removed, this is not enforced.
The food is ok. Breakfast is the nicest meal with a freshly made smoothie of the day available each day which is a nice touch. Lunch and dinner tend to be stuff in sauces.
The outstanding feature of our holiday was the world class evening entertainment. Kieran, Emily, Sami and Nikki belong on the West End stage and not in a hotel in Rhodes. Sadly, they are no longer there which is Thomson's and the Atlantica Imperial's loss.
I wouldn't return to this hotel because, in the brochure, Thomson Gold guarantee they don't take bookings from families with young kids. What they don't tell you is that TUI, Thomson's European arm,do, and frankly this feels like a bit of a swizz.

| said: Just returned after a one week holiday at this beautiful hotel. It was our first time at a thomson gold hotel and we were very impressed.
The hotel is just absolutly stunning, it has a wonderful reception that is eyecatching as you walk in, the rooms are beautiful , grounds, pool etc, and the food is out of this world, lots of dishes cooked fresh in front of you, there is so much choice, there is something for everyone.
It's the best hotel we have ever stayed in and we have stayed in many. The room we had was huge with a beautiful view of the pool and the sea.
The resort of Kolumbia however is very quiet with only a small few bars and restuarants but the hotel makes up for it. There is a bus stop opposite the hotel that will take you into Rhodes town, Lindos, Faliraki. Also as thomson dont take bookings for under 16 yrs olds it was more or less child free, apart from about 3 children that we saw through other foreign companies.
It was bliss, so quiet a real nice change not to have screaming spoilt kids running round causing havoc. If your a couple and you want some peace then I would definately recommend this hotel.
If anyone complains, then there is something seriously wrong with them or they are the type when they are never satisified with anything in life!

| said: The entertainment was of a very high standard but any proper dancing was impossible as it took place out of doors on an uneven surface. This was a great disappointment. There was no alternative to the entertainment on offer indoors as "the ballroom" was set out with chairs all the time with no music either.
As for the superior room, it was kept clean and tidy but the carpets were absolutely manky. I know it was near the end of the season but this is no excuse unless the hotel is 100% occupied all the time. Watch your star rating!
The food was O.K. if you took your time to see what was on offer but it was the usual multinational mishmash and very little truly greek food.
The staff were very nice and friendly, as were the locals.

| said: We stayed at the Atlantic Imperial at Kolymbia, Rhodes for two weeks in mid August. First impressions were not a lot to see on the outside but once inside wow! Sweeping staircase and marble floors absolutely spotless.
Our room was a long way from the main building but overlooked a small harbour which could be a little dusty but was a great view! We had an excellent large room with an enormous bed and marbled bathroom. Best room we have ever had. The hotel is in a beautiful setting in fact we hardly left it as it was so ideal.
Entertainment was excellent with some really talented team members pulling out all the stops to entertain.
Pool is beautiful, a lovely lagoon shape with a bubbly Jacuzzi part.
Food was great with lots of choice. We booked half board initially then upgraded to all inclusive. Best thing we ever did and the only holiday we have ever returned from with three hundred pounds in our pocket! Please don't listen to people saying you get poor measures etc on all inclusive this is complete rubbish! We had milkshakes iced coffees cocktails made with decent spirits and strong! In fact the only hotel where we have been able to order anything from the menu although we were all inclusive as its usually a limited menu. Our friends even ordered the most expensive wine in the al a Carte restaurant and got that free! Everyone was delighted with the all inclusive option and those that didn't wished they had.
The Hotel is a little bit too far out to visit Rhodes town and Lindos regularly unless you are willing to pay out for a taxi which is expensive if just two of you.
The only downside for me was that as a Thomson Gold a lot of people go there expecting it to be child free and don't realise that there will be children from other
countries and this was the topic of conversation in the pool with lots of people complaining that there were children and teenagers there! There were four or five teenagers there when we were, and apparently some people complained about then being rowdy! This consisted of two boys splashing two girls one lunchtime when no one else was in the pool! If you are considering taking teenagers there I would thing again as they will probably be the subject of complaints when they go about there usual holiday business!! Please do not go to this hotel if you dislike children as there were some beautiful children there when we were all well behaved and mum and dad looking after them well but still people complained!! This was the only downside.

| said: This is a fantastic hotel. When we arrived we were dropped off the coach first it being a Gold hotel and the check in was swift with a good explanation of where everything in the hotel was located. Porters to take bags to rooms. There are two lifts in the main part of the building but not in the separate blocks. We had paid extra for a sea view and what a view we got it was lovely the ocean right in front and mountains all around in fact wherever you were in the hotel by the pool in the restaurant or on the terrace the views were brilliant lovely surroundings wherever you were.
Our room was very nice huge in fact. The bed was massive, could stretch full length in any direction and then some. Also had a settee and table and chairs, large dressing table, and good size wardrobe and full size mirror. The bathroom was also one of the largest we have seen and very clean and good powerful shower. The balcony was a good size and very private from each side with a fantastic view of the ocean, didn’t spend much time in the room but when we were there it was worth paying the extra for that view. The room was kept very clean as was the whole hotel.
The hotel staff are amazing very friendly and always want to help you. We had a lovely waitress and waiter who served us most meal times and then outside during the evening for drinks, they were always smiling and worked very hard, we gave them both a big tip each at the end of our hols they really did deserve it they made us feel very special.
During the day the waiters in the pool bar are brilliant especially Panos and Tolis they are always happy and want to have a joke with you always got served very quickly if you see them say hello from Dawn, I miss them already. There is no waiter service around the pool at this hotel but it really isn’t a problem to get up and go and get your drinks and have a chat.
You are seated to your tables at dinner. At lunch and breakfast you find your own. At lunch and dinner they take your drinks orders from you and very rapidly have it waiting for you by the time you have come back with your starter. Plates are removed almost as soon as you have finished the last bite very efficient and they even fill your wine/water up when your glass is getting low.
The food at this hotel was the best I have come across apart from one small niggle and that was I love pancakes in the morning and although they do make them they are not made fresh for you they are piled up on a hot plate. But apart from that the breakfast was the usual English fare and then some. Also continental, and cereals and fresh fruit. In fact there was fresh fruit available at every meal all of it delicious. The lunch was like a condensed version of dinner very nice dishes just fewer. The salads were delicious. They had a carvery every night and fresh pasta cooked in front of you. They had lots of Greek dishes all of which I tried and all of which were yummy, also fresh vegetables and a few English dishes if you didn’t want to be adventurous. The puddings both Greek and English fare were all delicious definite diet needed. Also every morning there was either champagne or a fruit smoothie to go with breakfast both very nice.
They also had themed nights my favourite being the Chinese night all the waiters and waitress dressed up in Chinese outfits and the food was delicious, the chef is brilliant he seemed to be able to turn his hand to anything.
Also on the Greek night they turn the lights down then suddenly a surge of music and out comes the hosts and some of the staff carrying cakes that are alight and getting everyone to clap along still not quite sure what that was about some sort of local custom but enjoyed it all the same.
Others have mentioned that the layout of the food is a problem would have to disagree I think it is a lot better than the usual layouts as you have time to have a good wander around looking at everything before choosing what you want, whereas usually you are all going the same way in one long stream and have to choose the first thing you see otherwise it means going back to the end of the queue.
The ala carte meal was delicious we had smoked salmon to start followed by prawn risotto, then a main course of turkey then the chefs surprise which was a cross between a chocolate brownie and a Christmas pudding. The presentation of all the courses was excellent and the staff were very attentive definitely recommend booking as soon as you arrive.
They have a Gala night every Tuesday where there is fireworks on the beach then while we are all turned around in our chairs watching them all the management of the hotel appear on the stage they are all introduced to us, they then come around with champagne and nibbles a good night all round.
Would definitely recommend going AI as the drinks were very expensive and the choice available was quite good.
The reps and hosts at this hotel are very good, Damien, Toni and Tariq are the reps and were always helpful and always seemed to be around the hotel. Aaron, Luke, Katie and Em are the hosts and provided the day and night entertainment. The shows at night put on by them were very good and as they were all good singers no mining was needed which I hate. They bring in two outside acts per week usually comedians all but one were hilarious. They only thing I would say is that they could do with a few more outside acts per week as although the production shows were good the same thing every night does get a bit boring. Also every evening before the show at 10pm began they started the evening off at 8.30pm with a group called the Paul Seccles duo jazz and blues who were on for an hour every evening and then again at 11.00pm they were OK but they were on every night and we just got fed up of hearing the same things.
The pool area has a very large terrace area so lots of sunbeds and also a grassed area overlooking the ocean with more sunbeds, and the pool was of a good size with a little waterfall, and water pumps and Jacuzzi. We usually bagged our sunbed around 8.15 but even if you came down around 10.00 there were still beds available if you weren’t fussed where however if you wanted a specified spot between 8.00 and 8.30 is best. They don’t seem to remove towels but they do hose everything down every morning so if you are there before 8.00 you will come back to a soaking wet towel.
The beach right in front of the hotel was more pebble large ones at that than sand but if you bought aqua shoes no probs getting in and there was more of a sandy area to the left. But the water was crystal clear and warmish and lovely and calm.
We went on two trips while there one called Capital Delights to Rhodes towns new and old. We could have caught the bus right outside the hotel and it would probably have been a lot cheaper but we always seem to get lost so thought we would be safer with a guide. Although she did point us in the right direction and give us maps we still got lost so looking back think it would have been better to make our own way there on the bus.
Rhodes town is beautiful prefer the old town to the new there is a harbour along one side before you enter the old town which is lots of little streets with shops selling all sorts and lots of restaurants/cafes of which we ate at one and had a very good meal with good service for a reasonable price. Rhodes new town is full of boutiques a bit pricey but lots of choice even had a Marks and Spencers and BHS.
The other trip we did was Rhodes Select which was a trip from the East to the West of the island visiting the Valley of the Butterflies or as our guide said the Valley of the Moths but Thomson's just call it Butterflies to encourage us to book the trip. But it was a beautiful place to visit with little waterfalls and lots of greenery and wooded areas to keep you cool, also peacocks wandering around and although they were moths they were not like the moths we know they were very pretty in all different colours. You have to pay and extra 5 euros to get in though. Had a lovely lunch included in the price at a family run Greek Taverna. Greek salad followed by eggplant and peppers, then fresh fish (sea bass) and homemade cake. There were also other stops along the way and the guide was excellent very informative would recommend this trip also no kids allowed.
One trip we were thinking of going on and was recommend very highly by the reps was called Light of the Lanterns but a few people we spoke to who had gone said do not go on this trip, there was too many people too much walking and very cramped conditions on the boat.
One problem was kids. The first week we were there, there were a few causing no problems really but the second week there was too many to class this as a Gold hotel, I know most of them were not from England but I really think Thomson's needs to do something about this. It is either a child free Gold hotel or not, there should not be exceptions. I am sure it will get worse as the month goes on.
We actually booked this holiday with Portland rather than Thomson's as they were over £250.00 each cheaper. We were told the only difference would be no alacarte vouchers and no Thomson gold towels. But when we arrived we were given two complimentary alacarte vouchers and Thomson's gold towels. Also our room was not a superior room but we were given dressing gowns and slippers, we have stayed at an Atlantica hotel before and wondered if that was something to do with the extras? Also while we were there it was my mums birthday and when we went back to the room there was a bottle of champagne in an ice bucket waiting for us, totally unexpected but very appreciated went down very well sitting on the balcony. It is the little touches like this that make us want to choose the Atlantica group every time but as a holiday in one of there hotels is quite expensive it takes quite a lot of saving up but is worth every penny.
We had an absolutely fantastic and wonderfully relaxing holiday in beautiful surroundings at this hotel and wish we were still there now would recommend it to everyone and will definitely return in the future.

The hotel room was fantastic. Overall a great holiday but they need to get the restaurant sorted out in a big way.!!!!!

| said: We have just returned from the Atlantica Imperial Hotel.
It is a lovely hotel in a wonderful setting close to a shingle and pebble beach. The rooms are a good size but have no bidet (which I thought strange in a 4* plus hotel or tissues in the room. Small whinge but something that adds to the luxury.
The biggest complaint was the bizarre layout of the restaurant. It took all week to find all the different places they put the food. The salads were presented in bowls not on ice under lights, therefore they were always warm. No cold meats only at breakfast. Strange food like carrots for breakfast or fatty lamb in yogurt for dinner. The hot plates were kept by the bread. And most odd of all was the stale bread was put in the jelly or cream puddings. The drinks were watered down, even the fruit juice at breakfast.
Definately not up to Atlantica Hotel's standard and certainly not 4* standard.

We had paid for superior rooms, and we were told the villa if we had booked it would have cost €1000 per week extra.
The food was ok but nothing special special themed nights, Italian, Local etc, but as i said nothing really special.
As part of the holiday we could use the Al La Carte restraunt once per week during out stay, Book early is my advice, the food is fabulous and the waiters are so attentive.
We were booked half board, but when we arrived we were offered an upgrade to all inclusive for €20 per person per day, which we soon made use off.
The staff at the hotel were fantastic, friendly and helpful, most spoke very good english. There isnt really much in the resort its self so we found outselves in the hotel complex most of the time, but the Thomson entertainment reps are fantatic, they organise activities during the day and the evening entertainment is good too, especially the Thomson shows. The holiday reps were good too, offering good advice and information. The only thing about this hoilday I didnt enjoy really was there WAS lots of children at the hotel, but u mostly had lots of peace and quite.
Please be warned though, the Restaraunt gets extremely busy and its an accident waiting to happen, people walking everywehre with really hot food, not looking where they are going.

Pool bar spotless with excellent polite staff we were all inclusive and even at lunch the choice was very extensive.
The thomson Gold team were the best we have seen a credit to themselves.
Hotel lounge very welcoming to sit in the evening for drinks before and after meals.
This hotel well deserves its star rating and is a credit to the Atlantica group.
Will return next year but perhaps a month later so we can see entertainment outside as this was inside due to being a bit cooler at the moment but this didnt stop the team putting on some spectacular shows.

Every aspect of this hotel was spot on. i loved every minute and did not want to leave. The food was gorgeous, we were waited on hand and foot.
The rooms and towels and bed linen were changed every day. The staff are very friendly and rooms could not be faulted.the best part for me was the location on the beach and the beautiful mountain in the background.
My wedding day was perfect and I would not change a thing. I cant wait to go back.

Only problems really is the food was ok for the first couple of days but by the end of our stay it was same. The desserts are the same every night though which was disappointing.
The nightly entertainment was good even though flying high was on every night.
The gala dinner was out of this world with fireworks, champagne and hand made truffles by the chefs.
The rooms were big with wonderful views of the swimming pool area and the sea.
There was a lot of choice from excursions to chose from, we only did 1, the Turkish delight (but if going again pay the extra and go VIP) as you get lunch as it is a long day but really worth going on.

| said: The hotel was really impressive, it was clean all the time, and the gardens were kept really well.
The hotel staff right from reception to bar staff and waiters were really helpful and friendly nothing was a problem to anybody. We stayed in an imperial suite which was split on two floors, as it was our honeymoon we had fruit and champagne in our room along with robes and slippers.
The food was good but there wasn't much Variety from day to day, I was sick of it by the second week. Also the restaurant got very busy especially at 8pm so we tried to eat before to beat the rush. Although the al a carte restaurant was spectacular and we got treated like royalty.
The location of the hotel was near the town just a few minutes walk but once you reached the town there wasn't much there at all just a few bars, shops and restaurants, once you had been once you had seen it all really.
I'm really in two minds what to say about the hotel entertainment, because we went all inclusive and there really wasn't really much else to do outside the hotel we watched the entertainment for the whole two weeks we were there.
The Thomson gold team were really good at the entertainment around the pool in the day; they never had to drag people of their sun beds because all of them had such good personalities people just wanted to join in with the games all the time.
The night entertainment started and ended with a group called Flying High and it's not that they were bad singers but we just got fed up with them by the end of week one, It wasn’t just us I know most of the hotel residents felt the same. The Thomson team filled the gap in-between apart from 2 occasions when we had outside acts. Some nights there did put on a good show but I think that they were made to do too much and because we had spent all day with them it would of been nice to see some other shows in the evening. We had Greek dancing one night and a comedian another night which were really good.
I really enjoyed my holiday and couldn’t really fault the hotel except for the food but it’s hard feeding so many people at one time and I am a bit of a fussy eater.

Very clean, staff extremely friendly and helpful.
We had a huge room and a great sea view.
Food quality good and varied and you could take advantage of "a LA carte" once a week.
The common problem of lounger wars did occur resulting in some early mornings if you wanted the best spots, however didn't mar the holiday too much as this was probably the nicest time of the day.
Although we booked Thomson Gold there were a number of children from overseas operators but this didn't cause any problems. The Thomson staff on site were exceptional - always to hand but never intrusive.
All in all the Atlantica group seem to have the right formula and I am seriously considering trying their hotels in Cyprus.
