| said: We arrived at 10pm, got our keys to discover we had been allocated a double bed instead 2 singles, went and said to the guy at the bar/reception and we were told we would be moved rooms tomorrow, which we were.
The Apartments were clean, the 2 day maid service was clean, The Bar was open 24 Hours which came in handy, decent prices and food, and a great view of the beach which it like a min away.
Location is good for heading to the strip, about Ten Mins walk along a bit dodgy road and your at the bottom of it.
Only neagtive had to be that were were robbed as we slept in our rooms, I-Pods and Mobiles stolen, which were not in the safty deposit box, we thought that we must have left the door unlocked, but 5 other rooms were done so not sure. Worrying. All our cash was thankfully stored in the saftey desposit box.

| said: Well what can i say. Absoluty perfect! When we arrived at 4am we were greeted by Toni who was very kind and helpful. Told us the bar was open, so we made sure we went down staightaway. This is a very small complex with 30 rooms or so and it is very clean and cosy. Fantastic views, clean rooms which had lovely cleaning staff and how can we forget the 2 Toni's who worked tirelessley behind the bar . I would definatley be back next year. As the complex is very small you get to know everyone and going to the local pool bar was the best way to meet everyone. The prices for food and beer are cheap and there is a pool table which is popular. The pool was clean and a good size for how big the complex is. We did the greek nite which was the last one season. The 2 Toni were excellent at making sure we were entertained by doing some kind of greek dancing which involved dancing on the bar!!!!! U must do this nite...
Thanks for an amazing holiday we will be back.

| said: the hotel is perfect for any holiday in malia, whether it is a nice relaxing trip for couples or a lads/girls trip away. for couples its absolutely brilliant, as i found out with my girlfriend. its about a 5-10 minute walk to the shops/bars and is well out of the way from all the noise. yet is isnt too far away to walk.
the beach is literally a minute away, but the pool is really good, with a quality view of the sea. although the the rooms are basic the rest of the hotel is very nice. the owners and cleaners are very nice and will help you out at any time. highly recommended to any traveller, will be going back soon.

| said: Ok, so it was in a good location, really close to the strip but far enough so that you could not hear all the racket. The staff were ok, not much help when we had problems with our room. Cleaners were lovely. Thats the good bit. We were given clean towels once, and when we complained we were simply told they "had no more towels" and that we "only get them twice a week". The shower was absolutly appauling, there were 4 of us in our room. After the first person had a shower, the whole bathroom was like a lake. The bath mat did absolutly nothing. I would not recommend people to stay there. The room next to us was broken into and had all there valubles stolen. Even a MP3 player was stolen from around someones neck when they were sleeping. When told about this the staff simply said, be careful.

| said: First things first is that this hotel is amazing! It was my 1st time going there but others in our groups 2nd n 3rd time and i really loved the place.
The bar is 24 hr so if you daint want to go down to the strip u cud sit there instead and some nights we preffered to stay at there instead! The maids were always friendly and came every 2 days.
The food at the bar was very good everytime. The staf were all friendly and would gladly talk to you and play on the air hockey table with you.
The only down thing is that the toilets down stairs by the bar tended to have quite a few mosquitos but wat do u expect if there lights on outside theres going to be some there. When it came to the end of the holiday u dont want to leave this place i highly recommened it to anyone and i have booked to go there again next year.
Also if you do go there on the beach to the left there was loads of water activites which were good and i recommened you having a walk down the beach to the right to the blue lagoon bar ellena and franko own that bar and there very nice people!

| said: Arrived on may 16th at 8am after a long 2 hour transfer to a lovely located hotel/apartments right by the sea pool was lovely and clean the staff seemed very nice well most of them .the apartment was a bit shabby need a refurb . There was dead mosquitoes squashed on the walls and over the bathroom which wasn’t very nice to see the maid service was once every two days .there is air conditioning that costs 40 euros a week extra which I found very expensive so I didn’t bother and there are safes at 15 euros a week to hire. There’s food available at the pool bar with drinks available 24 hours a day and a barbecue on either Friday or Saturday night at 15 euros each .overall a good location rooms need a good clean. Hope this helps

The apartment were very basic but clean. The cleaners were lovely. Chris the bar man was very friendly and entertaining, especially on the barbecue (which we fully recommend you go to, great food).
Recommend that if you decide to go to Crete and want night life and a fun packed holiday. Go before the first week in October.
Enjoyed ourselves very much.

| said: Pyrgos apartments are right on the beach and far enough away from the main part of Malia to not be affected by the noise from the resort.
The apartment that we were unfortunate enough to be allocated room 111 was infested with millipedes which somehow got into the sparsely furnished room on a daily basis the shower head would not stay in the riser rail and had to be held by hand the lid was broken on the waste bin, no cover on the electric supply board, plaster falling off the walls due to dampness and generally run down tired apartment.
I must add that not all the apartments were as bad as ours as we did have the opportunity to see one or two others. However the apartments consist of 2 wings each 3 stories high and have been built in a V shape with a courtyard/atrium in the middle, in effect this is a GIANT megaphone so that any noise is blasted out to the rest of the apartments even just normal speech sounds loud and doors closing late at night sound as if they are being slammed with a vengeance.
The pool and bar area are well up to scratch and the food is of a good quality although limited variety.
The staff are friendly and helpful. our apartment was cleaned alternate days sheets and towels were changed twice a week.

| said: The rooms are basic but lets be honest aren't they all in Greece and the Greek islands however the room was throughly cleaned daily and towels were changed every other day. On a whole it is clean and tidy however the reception area needs a finishing off.
The food is all cooked to a good standard but the menu is limited.
The location is 10 mins walk from the heart of Malia which is great if you have a family and don't want to be kept awake all night by the all night partiers, it is also sited directly on the beach which makes life easy if you prefer beach to the pool.
The staff well what can I say absolutely fantastic specially Cris, Maria and Tula, they were brilliant with the kids.
Entertainment is limited but on Fridays they have a BBQ and Cris puts on a show with Greek Dancing, Fire blowing and picking up tables and chairs with his teeth

| said: The room was very basic with little catering facilities and impossible to make any food.
We had a leek in our room which was reported and nothing done about it. Although the staff already knew about this as there was a towel on the cupboard already soaking up the leek.
We got clean towels once during the whole week. And was only swept about twice.
The staff were very rude and unhelpful towards our group.
There is no reception at all.
My opinion is that if you spend money behind the bar you get better treatment.
If I was to return to Malia I would not stay there and I would discourage anyone else to stay there.

| said: We stayed at the Pyrgos apartments September 2006 and had a fantastic time.
The rooms were basic but clean and tidy, the cleaners were super and would leave you be on the early morning after the night before.
The location of the apartments is right on the sea front so your rooms either have seaview or mountain view. It's about a 5 - 10 minute walk from the main strip.
The staff at the appartments were always welcoming and very friendly anything you needed was just a question away and they would sort that for you.
The pool area was always clean and safe with plenty of people to hand.
There's a Greek BBQ night on Friday nights for only 15€ per person which is not to missed it is a fantastic atmosphere, great food and great entertainment and gets everybody invloved, well worth the money.
We enjoyed and miss it that much we are going again this September. P.S Cris's cocktail is not to be missed

| said: I have stayed at the Pyrgos Apts twice and would have gone again this year but fate dictated otherwise.
I am a sun worshipper and love nothing more than to come home with a lovely tan. The apts are situated in an idyllic spot for anyone like me. The edge of the pool is right next to the beach so there is always a lovely breeze and I feel adds to the bronzing effect.
The apts are just out of the main resort and are very quiet but the night life is only a few minutes away if you so choose. Pesonally I love to walk up to the Old Town which is maybe 15 minutes away. There are a couple of fantastic, authentic Greek Restaurants there which are first class.
The Staff are extremely efficient and and friendly. The place is kept spotless and there is reasonably priced food in the daytime which is delicious.
Apart from the Greek Night, I must admit that there is no entertainment and that is the only fault that I can find here. As I am an avid book reader, this does not bother me and I am definitely going back next year.

The pool area is clean and with views over the sea and the beach some would say idyllic.
The apartments are basic but very clean yet the bathroom was slightly below standard but still clean.
The bar staff and manager were friendly and where always on call.
The pool bar was clean friendly and the food service was fantastic.
The grounds where well maintained. Set on the beach. All together good value for money is a great location for those looking for a lively or peaceful holiday its all there.
On a night the entertainment was situated around the pool table but there was a Greek night and a wonderful pool bar and the staff themselves keep you entertained.
I would go back tomorrow if I could.

| said: The location is first class as it is literally on the beach with the busy new town just far enough away not to spoil the romantic setting.
You can choose either a mountain or sea view .but mid season I advise a room away from the pool bar as it can be noisy until quite late.
The cleaning is good and regular and the bar food is perfectly acceptable.
Staff are attentive and some entertainment is available via pool table Greek night and wide screen TV. The self catering equipment was a little sparse and basic.
The pools and surrounding area is attractive and a beach bus stops nearby.
