Just come back today.....great island but i would not stay in these bungalows again...right up the top of a hill with a very steep hill and 62 steps to climb in the soaring heat!!! pool was a bit dirty and the locals were rude and were allowed to come and just use it, no lilo's allowed even though on another occasion i saw some spanish children using theirs!! Cock roaches too and when you complain you just get told to flip them on to their backs as this kills them in time...please you just want them out of your bungalow. Smashing holiday but found San Agustin very quiet and had to travel to other parts of the island for food and fun.

The apartment we stayed in was a little bit basic but made up for that by being the biggest we have stayed in. The balcony was huge with absolutely fabulous views of the pool and surrounding gardens.

You can also lock your apartment up without shutting your doors and windows so when you go out or to bed you have the fresh air coming in at all times.

Which means that you can also rest safe if you have little ones by being secure that they are not going to fall off the balcony if you have left the door open.

The bedrooms are really spacious and if you need an extra bed reception will provide one without any trouble if you ask. Our apartment was cleaned every day except for a Sunday.

The maids come in when you go out in the morning and everything is done by the time you get back. They provide clean towells every day and the apartments are kept lovely and clean.

The same can be said about the surroundig gardens. There was always staff keeping the gardens fabulous and surronding areas maintained to a very high standard.

The swimming pool we used was nearby and kept clean and tidy. Our children used a small blow up boat in the pool every day and they have been brought up to be respectful of other people and the other guests were polite and friendly in return.

There were always enough sunbeds with only one family reserving them every day. We went for a quiet family holiday and the location of these bungalows is in a superb location for this.

Not really the ideal holiday for people with walking difficultes or people who like to put their children in the kiddies club.

There is a restaurant in reception which is really cheap if you dont want to venture far. The staff on reception are friendly and helpful much nicer than the staff in the shop next door.

By the way the little yellow mini bus is cool our kids thought so anyway. I would go back no problem only my other half likes somewhere different so get your reviews posted so we can book early for next year.

The complex is built on beautiful rocks and terraced and each bungalow is nicely spaced out. Beautiful surroundings and gardens and views from the top are lovely.
On arrival we were taken to our apartment by a yellow minibus, the driver helped us in with our luggage and this service was available any time during the holiday as the bungalows were on a hill.
Our first apartment's balcony was covered with trees and blossom hence it was crawling with ants, and the sun never reached the balcony/terrace. However the reception staff were happy to move us after 2 days to another bungalow with the sun shining in all day (no ants here!) Bungalows were a really good size - each with a terrace or balcony and rooms and cupboards huge. Cooker, fridge, toaster, coffee maker, but no kettle or microwave - it didn't matter to us much as we ate out most days, but might have made life a bit easier.
The staff were friendly and cleaners in every day and they worked hard.
Huge swimming pools, and nice and clean while we were there, but there was a bit of conflict over inflatables in the pools. The complex is partly owned by Scandinavians who live there for the winter and some seemed unhappy at "tourists" coming in - we did mention this to the rep.
There was no entertainment, but the restaurant "Nito's" was very friendly and the food great. On site there is a supermarket, giftshop, car hire, hairdresser too.
Ideal holiday for couples who like to relax, but you need to be fit as it's very hilly and you need to walk across the main road to more entertainment and beaches. Our teenage sons were a bit fed up after the first week (although they're not usually into big entertainment)

**Do not go to these apartments if you want a good holiday**

First of when we arrived at 4am we were taken in a van with someone from recpetion who spoke no english to the top of the hill and given the room key. thats it!! we had to find our own apartment.(this did not only just happen to us!!) with all our bags to carry up and down steps and a pram!!

Rooms were dirty when we arrived! no cot as requested! no fans available either!!

Reception staff rude and unhelpful and did not speak much english at all!

No entertainment. Pools dirty!! daughter now has eye infection. not enough sun loungers on about 20 per pool MAX. And is advertised as 3 pools which there are.....but they are a good 5-10 mins walking distance between them up a hill.
OTHER thing...locals can just come of the street/beach and use the pool..and when when it reaches a certain time no paying guests are allowed in the pool as its for the locals!! no joke!

apartments are on a very steep hill with loads of steps no good for prams or people with difficulty walking at all!!

Serious ant problem in rooms and all around pool area ...... and they bite!!!

We were not the only holiday makers who felt this way most other requested a change in accomadation when they arrived and the others are now writing letters of complaint to direct holidays!

We stayed in a 1 bedroom apartment. It was furnished very well with everything that you require for a self-catering holiday.

The large swimming pools were never really busy during the day so getting a sun lounger was no problem.

The apartment was cleaned almost every day and the towels were changed also.

There is a restaurant on site when you can get snacks during the day and a supermarket.

The complex is very large but you get a lift from the reception when you check in to as near to your apartment as they can get.
