| said: We arrived in the early hours of the morning and was taken to our roon by a man on a route march, we were practically running to keep up with him, after a long walk with our heavy cases we arrived at the Akti Annexe.
The room was clean, we had a terrace but all you could see was plants. We did have a loud chicken waking us up at 5am every morning!
The pools were clean and cleaned everyday and you could always get a sun bed, which was good.
The drinks were watered down and even though you only get given a tiny glass, it is filled up with ice. We were advised not to drink the water but having ice cubes in your drink did not help and i ended up with an upset stomach for 5 out of the 7 days we stayed.
The food was repeated everyday, we ended up eating in town for most of the holiday, which added extra cost on to our holday, we should have just gone self catering!
The trips we went on were fab, would recommend Greek Night and the Lazy Day Cruise, the reps on the cruise were all great and especially the trip to see the volcano with Constantine- he was great and made the trip more fun.
We were told that all the staff spoke English! thats not true, it was like talking to a brick wall with some of the staff!
The free bus that is offered does not operate at all times of the day that is stated on the timetable
Overall we would not return to this hotel but i would say the island has lovely scenery

| said: weve just come back from Akti resort and here is the truth!
No complaints from us.All inclusive means exactly that at this hotel.Bar open till 12 (midnight).Free ice cream and snacks.Free drinks by the pool during the day (dimitrus is brilliant as after a couple of days he knew your 'poison')very friendly and obliging!
I agree that the night time bar staff could be a little slow but when you realise that 900 people were stayng there at the time of our visit!
The hotel was very clean and tidy at all times and our room was visited every day by the maid leaving clean towels.
The food was excellent (deffinately the best all inclusive we have had.The dinning room was clean and the food beautifully presented having themed nights too. There was a separate chinese food bar and italian pizza counter and excellent vegetarian \suchi bar too.
The choice was endless!also snacks served at night like pancakes and omelette and spag bol at around 11.30pm-brilliant!
i also agree that the hotel is out of the way and seemed to be in the middle of nowhere but this is an allinclusive hotel with full ameneties and these types of hotels tend to be out of the way but Kardamena is only 10 mins away on the local bus-5 mins away on the Akti's free bus and a lovely 35 min walk along the coastal track.Only 8 euro's in a taxi. The beach can be reached just outside the hotel and yes it was stoney but that is hardly the hotels fault or even the island! There were free pedeloe's and kiak's available to all akti members - just give your room number. We took bread down to the beach after breakfast and fed the fish-try it it was unbelievable how many came to feed!
The staff were excellent very friendly and chatty!Kate who was a manager came round to lots of holiday makers chatting and all speak lots of languages.
i also agree that the entertainment in the theatre (in the annex part of hotel)was a bit tame but you have to realise that there were Italian's,Dutch,Austrian and English nationalities staying at the hotel all at the same time! The animation Team worked so hard all day and we enjoyed there company. They did water gym, water polo, beach volleyball and footy in the garden during the day.but if you're not that energetic they organized darts, archery, jenga and draughts. That was enough entertainment for us!I must also mention the three large swimming pools at the Akti with lots and lots of sunbeds at each.We always found a sunbed to lie on every single day we were there.
i would recommend this hotel to anyone as it caters for famillies and couples - there was no groups of girls or boys whilst we were there and i know from past experience that this can be an unpleasant experience!
Just a note for anyone thinking of going to this hotel that the TV and Air con remotes are available from reception for 50 euro's which you get back when you hand them in.Safety dep box key also available. If you want to keep your room on on the day of departure it will cost you 20 euro's until 6pm and 5 euro's for every hour after that (check out time 12 noon)which we thought was cheap!

| said: The Club Akti is situated about 5 minutes by car from Kardemena, the hotel provides a courtesy bus which runs frequently. You can also hire a bicycle from the hotel for 5 euros a day and cycle along the seafront to Kardemena, took us 20 minutes. We were lucky and got a last minute deal off the internet but i would've been disappointed if i had paid full price to stay here. We found the all inclusive good value for money and the food here was great, sevice was quite slow at the bar with some nights just one person serving. The maids did a brilliant job, rooms cleaned daily and towels always changed, the hotel was spotless. Staff were very accomodating and extremely friendly. Ok now for the downsides of this hotel..entertainment was appalling and mainly catered for the italians, coincidently the hotel is owned by italians. There wasn't alot happening during the day and evening despite the brochure stating there was. We were not the only ones disappointed, other holidaymakers were upset,to the point some complained to the rep who incidently was never at the hotel apart from once. There is also not enough sunbeds and alot were broken,we went in May and struggled to find a bed at 10am,cant imagine what it would be like in high season. The location of the hotel was not great either, the beach is all shingle and not very clean although we did have fun on the pedaloe which is free if your staying at the Akti. It is highly unlikely i'd stay here again but if you do get this cheap (under £300) then i'm sure you wont be totally disappointed and the entertainment may have improved as we did go in May. Kos is not one of the best Greek islands i've been to but the weather was fantastic and it's also close to Turkey if you fancy a day trip there so all in all a good choice to pick.

| said: Me and my friend stayed here on an all inclusive basis. We picked up a last minute cancellation and got a week for under £250.
We arrived and were met by pleasant, helpful reception staff. We were given our room key and we set off to find our room.
We walked around for what seemed like ages (coz our cases were heavy!) before we found our room. We had walked past it about 4 times whilst we were looking! Turns out we had the best room on the complex. Ground floor, right infront of the pool, Result!
Room was spotless and a good size for the 2 of us! Bathroom only had a shower, and the water was all salty! Made my normally nice long blonde hair into rats tails....thank god for the leave in conditioner!lol!
Food was lovely. There was a grill section, italian section, salad and fruit, pasta, jelly, ice cream...loads of variety!
Staff were fantastic too. Some other English people staying there had a few probems with the greeks, but we found everyone there, staff and guests to be really really nice. Infact everyone in the whole area of Kardemena was wicked. We made so many friends in the week we were there!!
Entertainment wasnt the best. My friend (did I say friend!) had me up on stage drinkin shots of vodka and water. I had to down it, not knowing what it was and the other team had 2 guess if Id downed a shot of vodka or water.....I dont even like vodka!! lol! It was a laugh at the time anyways..althogh I felt a little tipsy after 6 shots of vodka....!
There was kareoke...i think the week we were there was bad or VERY bad singers week...all the X factor rejects came to Akti the week we were there!! Hee Hee!
It was the start of season though, so maybe the entertainment picked up after we left! I wouldnt want to stay at Akti during the summer high season as i think it would be way to busy. There were enough sunbeds and chairs in the restaurant when we were there, but I think if the hotel was at full occupancy, it would b too busy!
Would I go back again!? Hell Yea! We had a really fantastic time, im jelous of anyone goin there!!
Hope this has helped!
Happy hols! Suzy xxx

| said: I think that this a great hotel and if you go in with an open mind and don't compare it too much to things at home yo will enjoy it very much. Remember you are in a foreign country things are not like at home! My rule of thumb is do as the Romans do while in Rome.
We arrived late in the afternoon staff were very pleasant and helpful. Room was clean basic 3 beds one king size, 1 single and a sofa bed. Beds for the kids were comfortable but king size bed was very low and I worried about the slats holding up the mattress. No hanky panky here!
Food was very good, there was something for everyone. Breakie was basic fruit, eggs either fried while you wait or scrambled, chips, cereal, etc. Salads were fantastic, there were grilled chicken, beef, or lamb plus chips and pizza. There was spag bols, pasta, and 3 or so casseroles to choose from every lunch and dinner time. My kids are picky and ate very well never an argument about the food.
Pool is ok there are alot of races, water polo going on pool scuba diving on a Monday. A very busy pool, not for relaxing too much in! The poolside bar has snacks. Chips, spag bols, French stick sandwiches, toastie sandwiches, fruit. You wont go hungry whilst a the pool. Drink are made from local booze, some good some bad. I am a vodka drinker and it was ok but I went on the Malibu and orange. Beer is coldish not like a cold filtered at home.
Overall this is a good family hotel with pleasant staff, and a great beach. It has clean rooms and good food. The only thing I can say I was surprised about was the water in the bathroom was salt water. I am used to brushing my teeth with fresh water, I used bottled here. Good to get home and brush my teeth!
Entertainment was mainly in Italian not too bad if e in Rome and you won't be disappointed. You have had a drink. Great dancers. There is volleyball on the beach everyday, archery, table tennis. Free bus rides into town only take 5 minutes, pickups throughout the day. This saves you a load of money! Town is small but busy at night. Lots of cafes and places to drink. Nice docks and good beach.

Food ok but repetitive.
Rooms clean. Man at food bar very rude, in fact most of the staff need re-training.
Would not go back again.

The rooms were dirty and the doors rattled all night long keeping us awake.
The entertainment was a joke, what entertainment there was bingo every night and one night it ewas greek night you sit and watch a man dance.
The sun loungers are broken, the tennis rackets are broken and the tennis balls do not bounce.
We ended up travelling to town for meals so it was a waste of time going all inclusive. People we met had asked for early flights back home and no one seemed to be enjoying themselves.

| said: I travelled with my family to this Hotel in August 2005. We had booked two rooms but due to overbooking we were placed in one small room for two of the seven days. The tiny room had no TV, faulty Air Conditioning and we had extra guests in the form of hundreds of ants in our beds!!
Facilities in the Hotel were OK, but service for drinks and food was very poor. The queues would often be served by one person and could easily extend to twenty plus people with a long wait as a result. Food was OK but the eating area was poorly air conditioned. It is definitely not 4 Star. The pool area etc was quite good - the entertainment and recreational facilities were minimal.
I travelled with Sunstar Leisure Ltd which was a huge mistake. I phoned them whilst on holiday to complain about the room we were given and despite their promises to help I heard nothing back from them. I failed to find their Rep and the information flow from them was very poor.
On my return to the UK I wrote to Sunstar Leisure’s Managing Director but it took numerous e-mails and letters before I got a reply. I have still not had a response to my complaint and it is now three months since my return. I have asked them several times to indicate the length of time they need to respond to my complaint but their Managing Director has not responded to my letter. I would not use this company again.

Room was basic but clean. One double bed, a single bed set into concrete and another bed.Satellite TV only had two English channels(EuroSports and BBC News)-for €50 deposit you could get remote control for TV and air conditioning unit. Our air con was leaking but was rectified v.quickly once reported.Storage was ample, there was a small fridge and a hairdryer. The bathroom was typically Greek - shower curtain did not reach floor and cubicle had a raised surround which was about 3" high so water went everywhere but, a good sized room though not all this size on complex. Remember in Greece you can't put toilet paper in loo - must go in a bin.
Food - plenty of choice but got boring.
Evening entertainment -what entertainment?Worst thing I ever saw and not very family orientated - kids asked why we had gone to that hotel!Held in a theater on outskirts of complex and v.sticky floor. Most people play cards in evening and chat.
Drinks served in plastic cups during day but glasses in the evening, though they are usually warm and beer goes flat very quickly.
Hotel lounge very comfortable.

| said: We're a couple in our early 30's on our first holiday.
When we first arrived at the Akti which was in the early hours, we seemed quite impressed, the reception quite nice, the staff very helpful, the only thing that we were dying for was a drink!!
The bar shuts at 11.30 and we were unable to even have a drink, I was pretty disgusted with this and to be honest not being able to have late night drinks did bother me at all holiday as we were forced to go elsewhere, which cost money.
This was'nt what I was expecting on an all inclusive holiday, I was told on all inc's the food and drinks are on tap all day.
Our room was basic, but very nice, overlooking the pool with a balcony, we had two concrete single beds with a concrete table inbetween, so we were unable to push the beds together! Not ideal for a newly engaged couple on our first holiday together!
The food was I thought 10/10 very well presented, nice and warm, with an excellent variety of all meats and fish. Everything was labelled so you knew what you were having. My fiance is a very very fussy eater and he had no problems we both put on about a stone!
The entaintainment has to be one of the biggest slumps, excellent if you have got kids, not relaxing at all if you are a couple, and not once did they do anything for the adults, it was definately butlins in Greece.
The beach was awful, very dangerous and you must wear shoes, a guy cut his toe open whilst we were there. Kardamena was excellent, the beach was great, bars and resturants superb.
Kardamena was above all the most liveliest area, mainly for 16 year olds on 18-30's, but it is very easy to get away from the main strip if you don't like that kind of thing. We found an excellent cocktail bar on the beach which we went to most nights.
Kardamena is about a 50 min walk from the hotel and best to walk along the beach road. There is a free bus which runs regularly from the hotel to Kardamena, it's jamm packed and so hot though but worth it.
We went on a coach trip to Bubble Beach, well worth going to, don't book your trip through the hotel we only paid 5 euro each to go to bubble beach, the hotel were charging 45 euro! There is a little agent in Kardamena called Harriet Travel go there. We also went to Turkey on a day trip which was also cheaper through Harriet, but definately would not go there again, you get haggled.
It's about 10 degrees hotter than Greece and not what you think it would be, the market was rubbish.
We hired a quad on the last two days and this was excellent, we toured the island and it was beautiful, definatley worth doing and such a good experience.
Kos Town is lovely and so is the mountain Zia, Zia is lovely at sunset.
All in all we had a very good holiday, very expensive as we had to venture out, drink out etc. we would'nt go back there again unless we had children. But food is superb! Hotel great!

Didn't like the shower. The shower curtain only went half way down so when you had a shower the water went all over the bathroom, had to put loads of towels down to mop up the water.(no bath in the rooms).
The hotel was kept very clean.
We went all inclusive but wasn’t impressed with the way they served the beer, they put the beer in white plastic cups (they only hold 200ml which isn’t half a pint)and it went flat straight away, glad I am only here for a week.
We were disappointed with the food in the hotel, only two star standard, kids food very poor, our three year old didn’t eat much all week.
There is nothing around the hotel but fields, so if you like to shop you have to go to Kardamana the nearest town. There is a free mini bus every hour to this resort.
The hotel staff where very friendly and hard working.
The entertainment team tried to keep every happy.

| said: The hotel was very clean and tidy at first but our week ended in the school holidays and the busier it got, the untidier the pool area became.
The food in the restaurant was very nice but not much in the way of desserts. Only ice cream for the children.
The food around the pool consisted of chips, pizza, toasties and ice cream and there was often a queue.
I would recommend this hotel for families as there is a large pool with plenty of sun beds and umbrellas and also a two children's pools.
There are plenty of activities all day and night for all of the family but the nightly entertainment starts late so can be tiring for the children.
There is a short walk across a road to the beach which is lovely. You must wear shoes in the sea as there are rocks and it is very slippery.

Rooms were very well maintained with friendly maids. However plastic cups served during day spill regularly next to pool and attract all sorts of beasties. Saw a hornet the size of a cow.
Entertainment. Bring cards. Bunch of daft Germans pulling hankies out of a top hat was alright for the kids but not for anyone with a mental age over five.
Beach was pretty bad. Lots of shingles mean you have to wear sandals at all times.
Staff were typical Greek who constantly eyed up my girlfriend. Very helpful though.
Don't hire quads from the complex. Mine was defective and steering / brakes locked whilst going 25mph. Spent over £100 on medical bills, and Stavros or someone had cheek to want another 100 euros for compensation for the quad.
Between 7 and 9pm it takes up to 20 mintues to get your thimblefull of watered down beer from the bar so you can't get drunk.
Sunstar rep, Daniel, was unhelpful.
Don't go, and advise others others not to as well.

FOOD: very good and plenty of choice.
ENTERTAINMENT: ok for a family holiday
CLEANLINESS: our room was spotless and cleaned every day.( and surprisingly spacious)
LOCATION: fine for us, as we had no intention in going out and about. 5 yards from the beach, Kardemena 30 min walk along to beach road.
REPS: very helpful.
My only complaint about this hotel is that because we went early in the year the outside theatre(for entertainment) wasnt yet open so everyone was in the bar area which became very cramped.(Invaded by mosquitos, but I think that was a one off)
Recommend a trip into Kos town, we had a great day.
