| said: As a young couple this hotel offered only two sofas beds as a sleeping arrangement in the so called studio apartment. The apartment itself offered very old fashion decor. Well and truley needed an update. Not to mention the everlasting smell circulating through the bathroom. Being a self catering hotel the cutlery and appliances available where laughable.
The maid service provided was a somewhat breath of fresh air being very polite and frienly (this with only one day off a week). Tthe room was well kep and so was the hotel itself. Not just the maids were friendly all other staff were as polite, helpful and friendly.
Thesnack bar during the day was always busy and provided lovely food at very good prices. But in terms of the restaurant the food itself was okay but not much variety especially if not a meat eater.
The hotel didnt offer much in entertainment. Although every night there was a happy hour of 6-8pm after a couple of drinks the bar would be wiped of stock bar the few warm bottles out the back.
The hotel offered (which was a first) a library and what was known as the bible room. As a family orientated hotel there was absolutely no need for a library and bible room.
The hotel needs a much anticipated revamp. Offering more entertainment orientated to children and a more couple friendly environment. The pool area itslef was decent although lacking numbers in sunbeds but there was a grassy area in which you could sit. The location of the hotel was about 10 minutes walk from the main strip of albfeira.

| said: apartments were very clean indeed and roomy.
maid`s came everyday,but a bit tight with the toilet paper! haha. found the hotel staff very friendly,snack bar reasonably priced and food nice.
pool area was very clean,towels on sunbeds from 8.30 in the morning!

| said: We found the apartments clean and were nice and large.
The staff, were friendly enough but I have one major problem with this hotel.....we had our safe broken into on the first day of our holiday and we received no help whatsoever from the hotel or the Thomson rep.
We were advised when we arrived to hire a safe but then when we were broken into and all our valuables/money stolen the hotel pointed out a one liner on the bottom of the courtesy bus card that the management were not responsible for money or valuables left in the safe.
If they are not prepared to take responsibility then what are we paying our 15 Euros for? surely we should have been given the key free!!!
There is a restaurant on site but no one from the hotel offered us help with money or food and we had two young children with us.

The one bedroom apts are really big, lots of cupboard space.
Maids in all the time.
Pool area really nice. There is a kids pool and play area together which was really good.
The location is about 10 mins from bottom of strip. There are a few short cuts just try different routes, it did not bother us as my son is 16 not little but there are taxis which are only 4 euros.
The staff are all really nice, especially Fatima in the bird bar.
I would go back to this hotel.

Food from the snack bar was nice with good selection.
The location not very good bit far out from the strip, bit of a hike every night as there was no entertainment on the site apart from karaoke twice a week.
Staff very good. The woman in bird bar tried to keep everyone entertained. Would have been a lot more happy if there was entertainment then we wouldn’t have to walk all that way every night.
I wont visit this hotel again because there is no entertainment.

| said: We have just returned from a week at these apts and were very surprised at the size of our 2 bed apt- it was massive, with two bathrooms!
Cleaned 6 out of 7 days by friendly cleaners. staff at reception and in the cafe, and bird bar were very friendly.
The only reason why I wouldn't return is because I want to keep experiencing other places. The walk to the strip was roughly 10 mins away, though it was a dark walk back as not many street lights! No complaints to the food available in the cafe, all very nice.

| said: I have visited this hotel three times altogether and
although the entetainment was much better the first time the hotel staff are still as friendly.
They're always there to help and greet you with a smile. I found the maid service to be very good. They come about 5/6 times a week and empty bins, clean floors and change linen etc.
We ate out most of the time but for snacks it was o.k
drinks and food are reasonably priced and their is also a little mini market on site.
The location is brilliant. Only 5/10 mins walk to the strip where there is a good choice of bars and restauraunts.

| said: This hotel is comfortable, clean, and friendly. The only downside is the location if you have small children the walk to the strip is will have them moaning all the way! and the walk back is quite dark.
There is some building work going on but we didn't find it bothered us.
There didn't seem to be much entertainment going on at the hotel apart from the weekly BBQ which looked OK but we spent our evenings in the many bars on the strip.
The staff were all friendly and the rooms were kept clean.
The only reason for not going back would be the location.

| said: Myself and my husband visited this hotel in May 2004. We have a brilliant time at this hotel and Fatima in the Bird Bar was a star. The location would'nt have been ideal if you were with young children however as a couple we didn't find this a problem. We never ate in the hotel as everything is a short walk away and is very well priced. Our room was very spacious and clean. We would go back to this hotel and may even do so next year.

| said: Stayed for one week commencing 2nd May 04, weather was a total let down as we only had one really good day. Rest of the time was overcast or raining and the evenings were cold,we actually put the heating on in the apt!! Situated out of the way but enjoyed the walk down to "the strip".Dogs were barking from opposite residential properties.Building work was being carried out behind the apts but luckily did not wake us up. Staff very good on the whole.

| said: the hotel is badly situated in a residential area, with dogs constantly barking throughout the day and night. there is building work to the rear of the complex, which is a good wake up call at 7.30 (you need to get up early to get a sunbed round the pool)
the walk to the strip can be very intimidating at night, the roads are very busy and the street lighting is poor (watch out for muggers!). the food and drink in the complex are reasonably priced, although not much variety. the supermarket doesn't sell much, well worth getting a taxi(5 euros) to one of the many hypermarkets and stocking up for the week (will save a fortune).
entertainment programme was limited to a barbeque on tuesdays (yuk!). there is a bar/disco downstairs but the drinks are dearer and the entertainment is hopeless.
Fatima is very friendly in the bird bar, although she does encourage you to drink more than you probably should.
the pool is very very very cold and believe me, you never get use to it. the atlantic ocean is much warmer
the rooms are BASIC. not much storage space, beds creaky, utilities must be paid for if broken.

| said: We visited this hotel the last week of the tourist season, this hotel was closing the next week and we were made aware of this on many occasions. There was a lot of building work going on behind our apartment, quite noisy, started at 7.00 am, very sandy, lorries delivering buiding supplies etc.
Our room was quite dark, very long and narrow, one bedroom, looking out over building site. Kitchen o.k. but fridge very old and rusty. Lifts operate but do not have a door on them. Childrens reps very good although one did keep telling us she was going home in two days.
We paid full price for this holiday and felt very disappointed, complained to Portland, eventually we moved to another complex.

And if you travel with Thomson....you will meet three of the most incredible people evr to bless this earth. They are called Lins, Lindsey and Alex and they are three very good friends of mine. I promise you, you'll have a ball if you go.

Just got back from the Algarve yesterday and thought I would leave some info on the above accomodation to help ease those who have booked here for upcoming holidays.
Overall, the hotel was very good. It has a bar, lounge, snack-bar, restaurant, supermarket and games room therefore providing you with everything you need for a good holiday should you not want to venture out of the complex too much. The pool was also nice, not the biggest pool I have seen but always clean and always had room for some swimming (depth ranged from around 3ft - 9ft which was clearly marked) there was also a paddling pool for youngsters and plenty of space for them to run around in. The Hotel also put on a barbecue every tuesday night, for around 12 euros you could eat your fill. The food in the snack bar and restaurant was also of a high quality and having sampled alot of dishes from the snack-bar I was quite pleased.
The apartment itself was very clean and cleaned 6 times a week by the maid (something which can become a nuisance if your trying to get a nap LOL), staff were friendly and always willing to help at reception and also spoke good english.
The location of the Hotel wasn't bad either. A 5min walk would take you to the top of the strip near the Hotel Montechoro or a 10min walk would of taken you in the opposite direction beyond the bull-ring to the centre of the strip near Linekers Bar.
The Beaches were lovely, both in the new town and old town (5 euro by taxi) and eating out for 2 cost around 30-50 euros depending upon how many courses you wanted.
Not a detailed description but restricted for time as I am working.

| said: went for a two week break to silchoro july 2003.Room was well below standard ,mould on curtains,wires protruding from walls,stained bed linen,dirty kitchen area,also no lighting on landing leading to room.pool wasn't too bad except when a dead rat was removed and nothing done to stop people entering pool.The location wasn't too bad if your a beach lover there is a bus laid on.Entertainment not recommended but there are plenty of bars nearby,would recommend going into the old town only 5 euros.I wouldn't go back to this accomodation.
