| said: We had a great holiday in Santorini, using the Hotel Estia as our base.
Overall the accommodation was satisfactory with only cause for two complaints. The breakfast didn't vary in any way from day 1 to day 14. Tea or coffee (cup not pot, though you could ask for more), really sour orange juice and a basket of bread, biscuits and jam/honey. Everyone there complained about this.
The only other complaint was that the pool bar didn't open until between 12-12.30 everyday. This was unacceptable as you weren't allowed to eat any food or drinks other than what you bought from the bar. With the soaring temperatures we found ourselves wanting water way before this time.
On a more positive note, the Hotel Estia is excellently placed close to the centre of Kamari and the staff work hard to make you feel welcome (especially Marcos at the pool bar who was very helpful with regards to recommending places to visit, eat etc).
The same two girls seemed to do everything from cleaning your room to serving the breakfast without having a day off.
I wouldn't request a ground floor room if you're after a lie-in as they come and sweep your terrace and move the patio furniture at around 8am every morning (talking quite loudly). This didn't bother us as we're early risers but I can imagine it could get quite annoying if you like your bed in the mornings.
There is no entertainment in the Hotel which is quite common for a 2 star in Greece.
I'd like to point out that there isn't a lounge bar in the premises as the brochure states and the prices of drinks at the pool bar are expensive.
All in all we had a great holiday and if you've booked to go here don't be put off by the couple of negative points.
Have a great time!

Breakfast was very poor 14 days of bread and jam and biscuits.
Just a short walk from the beach and all the shops and restaurants, but in a fairly quiet location for sleeping.
Marcos was an excellent host at the pool bar - unfortunately it didn't open until gone noon - a bit late when you weren't allowed to eat or drink anything not purchased from the pool bar. Drinks here were double the price elsewhere and food was a toastie with one filling.
There is no lounge bar as is stated in the brochure. The only entertainment was what you made yourself.
I would not return to the Estia again.
