| said: I have just returned from Marmaris and have to say I will not be back again. The Cosmopolitan so called (Resort) is not the place to stay. There is a lot of hidden extras that you have to pay for and you are not told about until you get there.
I will say however that the cleaners did a fantastic job and we gave them a nice tip at the end of our visit.
The food in the Resort was very expensive compared with other places we visited in Marmaris and an example of the drinks prices was that I asked for a nice Whiskey and ice and was charged £6.00 for one. Needless to say we ate elsewhere and drank elsewhere so you have been warned.I was also amazed to be told one day that I could not eat food from the apartment by the poolside and had to pay the over inflated prices from the restaurant which made me mad to say the least.
Location is ten minutes walk from the main area for the beach and shops.
Entertainment was absolutely rediculous. Ok for children I guess.
I will not be revisiting this so called (Resort) as it is a joke. Over priced food. Over priced drink. Over rated throughout. Not the place to stay.

| said: Well what can i say about this hotel the word PANTS springs to mind.
If your british then i strongly advise against going to this hotel as you will most likely be the only ones there and will feel outcasted as the staff at the cosmopolitan seem to be extremely obnoxious towards british customers.
The entertainment was extremely poor with a dj who tested the mic every 5 mins and played only about 5 english songs the rest were foreign.
The only help to us was a new waitress who joined the hotel who was from london who helped as much as she could however the receptionist seemed to think she owned the place by telling anyone off she pleased.
The photographers who work there are also worth staying clear of if you have children believe me i warn you about it i wouldnt let any kids i know go to this place!!
The only good part to this hotel is the maids and cleansiness they do a great job but other than that i would certainly not recommend staying at the cosmopolitan.
A few other things are if you are sunbather you wont get a sunbed as theres not enought to go around and theres always towels on ones when knowone is there.
My recommendation is stay well clear of this hotel go to something like the Alpina its 100 times better than this one
Costs:
Air Con £60 fortnight £30 week
TV £40 fortnight £20 week
Safe Deposit Box £50 fortnight £25 week
and best of all your last day you gotta be out for 10AM!!!! unless you pay 30YTL or £15 approx extra and this is only till 5.30pm
My tip if your BRITISH dont stay there!!!

| said: Just arrived back after a fantastic two weeks. Hotel facilities and staff excellent.
The hotel is badly let down by it's poor air conditioning, particularly for August tempratures. The air-con unit in the master bedroom exhausts out on to the balcony at floor level which in turn feeds back into the main living/additional sleeping area - creating tempratures of in excess of 60c or 150f in old money.
Spot checks are carried out with the threat of fines being imposed for operating the air-con unit when not in the room. Before you feel any benefit from the air-con it could well be in excess of an hour, not ideal when you have small children.

| said: The hotel was well maintained and very clean. Staff were extremely helpful and any issues were rectified quickly. Loved the pool - best in town, didn't try the second pool but kids loved it. Didn't try food either but heard no bad reports. Location wasn't perfect but at least it was not in the middle of all the bars and noise of the town centre and the buses were every ten minutes and cost 50p for a 5 minute trip to the front. Alternatively you could walk which only takes 20 minutes. Entertainment was not the best but there were loads of alternative places to go very nearby if you look (walk 50 yards to the right of the hotel and turn left - it took most people a few days to find all the restaurants and bars which were so close). Hotel was mainly occupied by Scandinavians but wasn't really an issue. The staff even removed towels from sunbeds if the owners hadn't appeared and there were none available for people to use. Great for families and would definitely go back.

| said: Arrived near midnight to be told they were over booked and couldnt give us self caterning apartment and they didnt know when they could- so gave us hotel room instead. Not good start!!!!!!
This hotel split into two blocks - new modern block is excellent(whereour hotel room was) - totally spotless room with view over main pool.
After much arguing with thomas cook rep- who was the worst i have ever encounterd we eventually go moved - wish we hadnt moaned as we got move to other block to self catering which was goo the state of the room and block was not- dirty walls, wallpaper in lobbys held up by chewing gum!!!!!!
POOLS-There are two pools big one - lots of games etc really busy, very clean . slides etc.
Second pool much quieter again v clean.
SUN LOUNGERS - well if your notfast ur last.. and if u arent fast and ask the staff o remove sun towels if your english you have no chance but if your scandinavian then they will remo ve the towels and give you a sunbed.
FOOD- we ate hotel once - reasonable, tasty not too expensive. Also if taking own food and rink to poolside expect to be challenged by staff - as they do not allow it - they expect you to buy frm pool bar. well again uless yo are scandanavian then you canhalf a full on picnic by the pool and not hear a word.
ENTERTAINMENT- we only stayed once- accordian show was funny suitanle for adults and kids. everything is announced in english but is really directed towards the scandanavian/german guests.
NOISE- no problems - no noise one good thing is the european kids really are much better behaved than british .
All in all decent hotel depending on what block u get put in . Dont book with thomas cook as quite frankly absoloutely appaling service given by reps

| said: Marmaris was great, but the hotel wasn't!
The waiters and cleaners are lovely, but the atmosphere in the hotel is poor, food and drinks are overpriced and the woman from the jewellery shop is proper rude and arrogant. Hairdresser was good, very friendly and reasonably priced.
We really enjoyed our VIP treatment in the spa downstairs, something you really should try! Great lads and absolutely worth every penny!
The hotel is too far from the center, but we prefer the beach, so we where outside the hotel almost everyday. Much better restaurants and bars. Nicer surrounding, better prices and food.
In the hotel are not enough sunbeds and everything is focussed on the skandinavians that rule that hotel.
We'll be back in Marmaris next year, but not in this hotel!

| said: Went in June 2008. Best holiday ever. Appts were very good. Entertainment was good.
The pool was amazing. Jacuzzi in the pool, kiddies pool and 3 fun water slides.
It has also got another pool.
Very Clean. Has also got a gym and Turkish bath downstairs.
Staff were very friendly.
Overall I can say that I was well happy with the cosmopolitan.
I am hoping to go back in September this year.
The only drawback is that it's a 20-25 minute walk to the Beach front.
But there are taxi's outside for about 4quid or buses running in front of the hotel for around 60p.
PS - Make sure you go to TALK OF THE TOWN show - V.V.Funny

| said: Not long back from Marmaris and would definitely go back! This resot is great, clean with very friendly staff. It is cleaned every day and the maids are very friendly. We didn't eat at the resort but the food looked good. There are two great pools, one main one which is always packed and has different games to do during the day. The other is a nicer pool for a swim and more peaceful.
You are about a 30 min walk from the main area but plenty of cabs is you don't want to walk, theres a great supermarket 5mins away.
Lots of great places to eat along the beach, the food was always amazing! Enjoy!

| said: This is a fabulous complex and we are vising again in 2007 for the third year. The staff are wonderful. The turkish bath and massage is a must - a lovely start to the holiday. The rooms are very clean and towels changed almost daily. The cleaners are always friendly and helpful.
Food at the hotel is more expensive than in the town but that is usual in holiday locations. The town is about 20 - 25 minutes walk but there are plenty of shops to look around.
One tip - book the trips with the local people not the tour rep - much cheaper. They do all of the same trips but will do "deals" if you book more than one through them. You are picked up at the hotel so there's no problem.
Two lovely pools - one family pool with slides and one smaller quieter one. Could do with more sunbeds but again this is pretty usual when on holiday!!
The brochure does not do this complex justice - only downfall is that it is not right in the middle of the town and is a walk from the beach. However the Dolmus runs regularly so it's not really a problem.

| said: We arrived home yesterday morning after a brilliant holiday in Marmaris,we stayed in the Cosmopolitan for 2 weeks and to be completely honest we wouldnt stay there again if we returned to Turkey.
The staff are lovely and couldnt be more helpful and the maids are very friendly but whilst we were staying there not one pool rule was followed, there were people sat by the childrens pool drinking beer and one day a bottle smashed and it didnt get cleared up properly,it said 'no animals' but there were chickens and cats freely roaming around the pool side.
The newly refurbished large pool had new sunbeds, umbrellas and large lounge cushions whilst the little pool where most of the British were had the older sunbeds etc,we also noticed that the pool area was never cleaned. The location of the hotel is quite a distance from the main bars and restaurants and it would be about a 20-25 minute walk, its situated on a main road so you have to be very careful when crossing as the turks are mad drivers.
The entertainment wasnt geared up at all for the british holiday maker as the majority of the visitors are scandinavions.
The rooms are quite small but clean and the air conditioning is not powerfull enough for august temperatures.
Being a self catering holiday we were told that we were unable to have our own drinks and food by the pool, where it was acceptable for some scandinavion customers to sit in the pool with glass bottles of beer which is something us British what not do,this was reported on numerous occations to reception but there was no response from any of the management team.

Rooms in the older wing were very basic but ample staff were great speak very good English turkish bath in the hotel is free for first visit great way to start the holiday. Plenty of bars near. 25min walk to Marmaris beach or 5min on the dolmus.
Hotel entertainment is ok. Magic show for kids. Turkish night (belly dancers)Fire eater show.Snake dancers show. One 3 game bingo after Turkish night this hotel is great for kids.
Hotel prices a bit dearer than outside bar and restaruant prices.

| said: This hotel is very nice, rooms are basic but kept very clean.
Pool is great size and the slides are great fun, there is also a quieter pool at front of hotel.
There is a gym and a Turkish bath.
Bar staff are always on hand to serve you at your lounger, hotel staff entertain daily at pool ie volley ball darts etc.
Hotel food and drinks are expensive, and they charge it to your room, it quickly adds up! BBQ night was nice, good food and price was not to bad.
They have entertainment nightly like belly dancers, snake show, bingo. We didn't watch any of them as daughter and her friend like to go down the front every night, which we had to go via taxi as hotel downfall is it's to much out the way, no bars or shops are in walking distance.

| said: Cosmopolitan Resort is a lovely complex. Thomas cooks brochure really does it no justice whatsoever.
It has 2 large pools with separate baby pools each. There are 3 good water slides into a separate pool which kids (big and small) love, this is not detailed in brochure. pool sides and public areas, as are the rooms, are immaculate.
Rooms cleaned on a daily basis with towel change most days too. We didn't each much at all in the complex, but the odd occasion we did, it took ages to come, then i would only have described it as average and slightly higher priced than in resort, but I suppose acceptable.
The location of this hotel/aparts is what lets it down greatly, but considering I only paid £1660 for 3 people for 3 weeks, I saw it as an absolute bargain.
If you know Marmaris, it is located near all the petrol stations as you are just coming into resort, in the Armutalan area.
Walking to beach would take 20-30 minutes but buses/dolmus/taxis are all readily available. We hired a scooter, as we do every year, which got us around no problem but not everybody is as brave or daring!!!
This hotel is similar to Portobello if you know that!
