| said: after reading some horrible reports on this hotel, we where not looking forward to going.
but what a surprise we had. ok so the rooms arn't great but you really do get what you pay for and we booked the holiday as a cheap last min deal.
we had hot water on hand at all times of the day something i dont remember having when stayin at other more modern hotels that we payed alot more for.
the rooms where cleaned once a week and clean beds and towels where always left.
danny the bar man and his mum Who does all the cooking where great and made are holiday even better.
danny kept the kids entertained for hours.
and his mums cooking was great i wanted to take her home with us.
My partner ended up in hospital for a day while we where there and the staff at the hotel where always on hand to help me out with transport and phone calls.
ok so the pool is only small but with 2 young kids it suited us just fine, everyone was friendly and all the inflatables where shared in the pool.
the location is perfect just a min walk and your at the beach, with plenty of bars and shops at hand.
would we go back deffo, the only downfall was the time of year we went the entertainment ends at the end of sept so we just missed out. but next time we will make sure we book ealier in the year.

| said: We stayed at this hotel in August 2007,when we arrived we found the area very quite, we had to sit outside the bar( which belongs to the hotel) because our rooms were not ready but we arrived earlier than expected, when we got there the barman (Danny ) was waiting to serve us all drinks on the house because of our wait.
When we got to our rooms they were very spacious and clean, a bit dated but the size more than made up for it.
The pool like people say is on the small size but adequate, there are plenty of inflatables that everybody shares(we even left ours there for other people)The bingo in the evening is a must just to have a laugh.
The food is a real treat, large meals and cooked to perfection, you can even order them to take up to your balcony if you choose to sit in and watch the world go by.
The one down side is the noise of the scooters at night when the staff from the large hotel across the road finish their shift.
The beach is just across the road and its a lovely beach at that.
The night life is very low key so if its that you are going for be prepared for a disappointment but on the plus side we had our 18 year old daughter and 18 year nephew who could walk about without any fear of gangs of drunken youngster to deal with, they even took the younger siblings with them for walks.
As it was the end of the Spanish holidays when we were there on the Friday it was a huge beach party right into the night with all the Spanish families partying together on the sand, then on the Saturday it was one huge street party, then on the Sunday it was the best ever fireworks display where it looked like the fireworks were coming straight out of the sea it was amazing.
A real must is walking into Porto cristo to the caves of drac, its one long cycle track and very safe to walk with kids.
This was a very relaxing holiday for us all and we feel we got real value for money.
It is not for the young lively types at all.

The hotel was basic but we only used it for a base. The staff could not do enough for you and Danny and Tony in the bar were really friendly.

| said: We booked this holiday at the last minute and I wish I'd spent longer looking into exactly what we were getting.
We did enjoy our holiday and just used our room as a base - the worst thing was the lack of cleanliness - our room was never cleaned in 2 weeks - the maids visited 3 times and only made the beds (with the old covers!).
The rooms were large and had really good potential - it wouldn't take much to make it a really nice apartment - clean it, replace curtains with huge tears in and replace toilet seat which was badly chipped and stained.
The pool was also quite dirty - the corners of it were green.
The staff were okay - everyone was moaning at how miserable they all were - but they seemed to work incredibly long hours.
The problems we had were - 1. The toilet broke and no one came to fix it for 2 days - we couldn't flush it 2. The shower head broke off the wall 3. on 3 occasions we had no water to the apartment whatsoever (apparently if everyone has a shower at the same time it can't cope)

| said: The Arcos Player apartments are very basic and you get what you pay for as in all walks of life.
The location is perfect, just 30 secs from a lovely beach.
A laid back resort for families and older couples.
The furniture could do with replacing tatty and dirty.
Overall pay that bit extra and stay somewhere better.

| said: The Arcos Playa is a very freindly place to stay.
The apartments are basic but very spacious and clean. the staff are courteous and polite, nothing is too much trouble, if there was a problem (not that we had any) Karen the receptionist would do her utmost to solve it.
The location of the Arcos Playa to the beach could not be any closer a one minute walk. The sunday dinners served in the restaurant were really good value, and very tasty too.

| said: I am very angry that people are putting these apartments down.
I had the most fantastic holiday this year and last year and I'm also looking to go next year even thought my parents have just bought an apartment in the Costa Blanca.
The apartments are family run by Tony and Margo who are brother and sister. There where so helpful if you needed anything you just ask its not a problem. The entertainment was great for the kids, day and night.
My 3 year old daughter loved it, especially as Tony and Margo spoilt her the whole time she was there. After our meal at the apartments restaurant we settled by the bar for the nights entertainment.
All the staff are really friendly and helpful and it was nice to see they had the same staff as last year so we knew exactly what to expect this year. The bar staff especially Danny would wait on you hand and foot. I don't think I got up to go to the bar once when he was working.
The food is fantastic the first year we ate out at different places till we realised that the food at the apartment was twice the size and for a fraction of the price. Real value for money. (They also do special offers on the huge cooked breakfasts.) We arrived really late at night and they cooked us a meal even though the kitchen was about to close.
The pool is cleaned every night, you usually see the man cleaning it. The rooms were extremely clean and very spacious. The kitchen was bacis but i didn't go on holiday to cook. The whole place was fantastic and great for families. The beach was a stones throw away, the apartments are opposite the beach bars thats how close it is.
I couldn't have wished for a better holiday. I would recommend these apartments to anyone. This is not a 5 star hotel but you will get 5 star service off the staff.

| said: We had holidayed in S'illot several times previous to our visit to the Arca Playa. The place is a total dump. Even when I was a student backpacker I would have given this place a wide berth. The curtains were hanging off, the balcony screen separating ours and the next apartment was made of old dirty wired cracked glass with an easily accessed louvre window leading from the balcony onto the stairwell. The settees hard, uncomfortable and stained. The bedspreads had cigarette burns in them. No toaster or fully working rings (this was supposed to be self-catering!) When I plugged in my hairdryer, everything else fused.
The pool area was cramped, sunless and dirty. A party of young singles made every night hell with constant arguing which the so-called "Security" did nothing to stop.
A British bar owner in S'illot told us that the Arca Playa was used as a dumping ground for anti-social guests thrown out of other hotels and I can fully believe it. I spent the most miserable fortnight of my life in these apartments and it wasn't cheap either. Avoid this place like a dose of MRSA

The entertainment was good but not brilliant but that's the sort of place you make your own entertainment.
Staff were ever so nice and the owner called Tony is very kind.
I can't wait to go again.
