| said: Booked this hotel for one night in July, last min booking on ratestogo. £22 for single room so expected basic accomodation.
Hotel is in a nice street with bars and shops - hard to find tucked down an alley way/street but quite safe. The reception is well lit staff were helpful and friendly. My room was on the 4th floor this meant 8 flights of stairs and no lift! I really struggled with my heavy case - the owner looked about 90 so didnt ask him to help.
The room was basic - bed, tv, balcony(locked door) ensuite was spacious and clean. The carpet was worn and paper was missing from parts of the wall but it was 'clean scruffy!' There was no air conditioning but a good fan which was fine (30 degrees outside!)
I didnt spend much time in the room as i wanted to do a whistle stop tour of Venice but only wanted the room to have a shower and leave the case and get a bit of sleep! So it suited me fine.
The bar is closed but lots nearby. Breakfast is not included but again places nearby.
I would stay there again if on a stopover - i joined a cruise the next day. But if on a longer city break id stay on the Lido.
It was very quiet at night, no street noise.
The reception staff looked after my case whilst i was out the next morning, they were so helpful!
If you stay there do ask for a ground floor room! If you dont mind basic accomodation its a great hotel - not many central Venice hotels for £22!
