| said: This Hotel is great until your holiday starts to go wrong! I will start with the positives (there are lots). The location is great, only 20 minute walk to disneyland, which is great if you do not want to wait for the bus and it is a pleasant walk.
The breakfast is good, with loads to choose from. The rooms are clean and modern. however, no kettle or tea facilities (so take some!).
Now the negatives. The swimming pool is tiny, for a four star hotel it is way too small and the water is cold. For a far bigger pool, try the explorer hotel next door. The rooms are very small, however, very clever use of bunk beds!
Now my main complaint!
The reception staff are terrible. It took us 45 minutes to check in! A new member of staff was unsupervised and took an age to do anything and speaking with only pigeon English. Not really a 4* service.
My wife, 11 month old baby and I came down with a really bad stomach bug. I do not attribute this to the hotel food, I must note. However, we had to book another night as we were too ill to travel back on Eurostar (we really were that bad).
We attempted to leave, however, my four months pregnant wife collapsed at the train station. We had already paid 50 Euros to stay five hours later in the afternoon (late leaving charge) and upon booking another night, the reception staff refused to deduct this from the further 116 euros we paid for that same evening. (bearing in mind if we just booked the night we would not have had to pay for this).
The night reception staff were frankly horrific. Here are the facts and you decide for yourself. There were no ATM or cash withdrawal facilities (a first for a 4* hotel), so I was made to walk out in the rain to the next hotel (explorer hotel 3*)to get the money to pay for the Dr (80 euro call out charge). This was even at the protests of the Dr who stated I was too ill to do this.
This trek then caused me to vomit in the reception upon returning. The prescription took 2 1/2 hours to arrive (promised 1 hour) and the staff demanded that I collected this from the reception area. I had to argue repeatedly for a receipt (for insurance purposes).
All in all the night duty reception staff were twisted sadists that seemed to enjoy watching an 11 month old baby, pregnant wife and very worried dad become very ill indeed.
The next day the cleaning staff walked into our room five times to clean (even though they knew we had the room until 6pm).
My advice is to stay next door in the Explorer Hotel, it is very clean, cheaper and has a huge play area/swimming pool for children.
Unless the reception staff shoot you on sight, they could not be any worse that the Dream (nightmare) Castle. If this review stops only one family from going to this place, then I will sleep happier tonight.
If you do decide to go, pray to God that you or your family do not become ill, or you will receive the same shambolic treatment that my family received.

| said: My husband, 5 year old and 2 year old stayed here for four nights from Sat 30 September.
We had a family room which had a king size bed and bunk beds which the children loved. The room was a little small but quite adequate for the amount of time we spent in it. A little more storage space would have been nice, as would tea/coffee facilities, but the fridge was useful and the room was nice and clean. The curtain along the side of the bunks was a good idea. Staff were friendly and helpful.
The breakfast buffet was good with a varied selection of hot and cold food. In the evenings they have a themed buffet with food from different countries. We tried it on the Saturday evening when it was Italian night and I wouldn't eat there in the evening again. The service was slow, the food was poor and not very good value for money.
The courtesy bus to Disney was fantastic. We never waited more than 5 minutes and were always able to get on. Travelling to and from the park each day with young children was one of the areas of our break which concerned me the most, but it was definately worth saving the extra £1000 it would have cost us to stay at the Disney Hotel. My son (5) loved the bend in the bus and my daughter (2) loved it because it was pink!
When we return we will definately stay here again - but eat meals in Disneyland.

Lovely rooms.
Nice breakfast and very efficient shuttle bus to EuroDisney.

| said: What can I say this was lovely clean hotel with everything you could need. I nresponse to the other emails posted. The reason there was no disney magic at this hotel is because this IS'NT a Disney hotel. However what you do have is a very classy clean helpful hotel.

| said: This Hotel only opened in 2004. This showed as everything felt new. We were very pleased with our room which had a double bed and bunk beds for the kids. The room was slightly small but very good quality. The cleaning staff were efficient but failed to replace the towels on the second day and we had to call room service which promptly relaced them. The breakfast was self service and good quality and plentiful. The layout of the dining room however was a shambles. People queueing for hot food were forced to battle with people getting cereals and milk. The management need to seriously rethink the layout of the food.
The buses were ok and regular - we knew when we booked it would be further out from the park but that was ok - it was quiet at night - to be honest the lack of entertainment at night didn't bother us - the peace after the bustle of the park was nice.
The bar staff were inefficient - don't let them con you into letting them bring the drinks to your table - they want a tip and then take 20 minutes to bring your drinks as they are too busy with the restaurant orders.
I would try somewhere else next time - the killer blow was that we had three (yes- three) fire alarms during the night - twice on one night. The manager nearly got lynched on the last occasion. Its a really nice hotel which is let down by surly bar staff and a duff fire alarm system.
The check in staff and the concierge were excellent.

| said: We stayed at The Movenpick for 5 nights in June this year with our two sons aged 3 and 18 months.
The hotel itself is beautiful. The food in the restaurants was lovely as was the room service.
The pool and jaccuzzi were nice for a cool down after a long hot day in the parks.
We felt the rooms were a little on the small side, and our fridge didn't work for the first three nights of our stay. Only after complaining four times did they replace it. This was a big problem for us because of the little one's milk.
We never book a hotel without a fridge/mini bar in the room.
The T.V. only has one English channel which is BBC World. I think they should at least have a Disney channel for the children, after all Disneyland is why the majority of their guests are there.
The biggest problem with this hotel was the buses. They really were a pain and too much hassle.
When they pick you up from the parks to return to the hotel, they don't just wait until the bus is full, they wait until its packed to capacity like a tin of sardines. In 32 c heat it was just unbearable.
The Movenpick is the last drop off too. It goes to 3 hotels beforehand.
We were getting off at The Explorers(1st drop) and walking.
Although it says its only a 10 minute shuttle ride from the parks, we were finding it took over half an hour. By the time we waited for the bus, then sat waiting for the bus to fill up, drove to the hotels, and finally got to ours (whether we walked from the Explorers or sat it out while it went to all 3 of the other hotels before) it is definatly alot more than 10 minutes.
Another thing we found was that there was no atmosphere or Disney magic. It felt more like a conference hotel.
In the evenings there was nothing in the way of entertainment or even a little background music in the bar or on the terrace.
Having stayed in The Sequoia on our last visit we really noticed the difference.
Even popping back to The Disney Village in the evenings was just too much hassle.
We would never consider staying offsite again. Next year we are going to try The Hotel New York or The Disneyland (if we can stretch to it).
