Of all the hotels I have been to in Benidorm this is the best. The location is perfect one street back from the beach. The hotel has the Wow factor when you arrive as there is a tropicial garden, with waterfalls at the front enterance. They also have a porter to help you with your cases and check in is trouble free from a very friendly reception staff. The rooms are well furnished with TV, air con, fridge, and plenty of both wardrobe and drawer space and they are cleaned daily to a high degree. The food is of a quality rarely seen in most Benidorm hotels with a choice for everyone, a really friendly staff with tables being cleared promptly. This hotel is more for settled people and I did not see any children during my stay, and I'm glad to say any stag or hen parties (which seem to be taking over Benidorm) Thoughout the hotel the staff cannot be faulted from manager to cleaner they provide great customer service.Has this hotel a downside? The only one I could find was the nightly entertainment which was geared toward the Spainish guests, but hey this is Benidorm why stay in the hotel when the outside shows are great. The fact that this hotel gets a lot of repeat guests says a lot and I can assure you that I will be one of them again in September

Just back last week. Stayed half board but wished I had stayed full board. Rooms were very clean and were cleaned daily. Clean towels daily even though we were quite happy to re-use them. Hotel is spotless, lifts very efficient.

We were on sixteenth floor and never had to wait for a lift. Ask for a high floor, view is amazing. Air conditioning is best we have had anywhere else, just make sure the door is closed before you go out. Hairdryer is adequate, mini fridge is good, TV has some English channels. We got channel 5, not that we were in much to watch it. Couldn't figure out how to work radio. Shower was good too.

The food was amazing. Had a 4 course meal every evening, always hot and plenty of choice. Once a week you get a glass of champagne. Breakfast was good, plenty of choice although coffee in pots on the table was not very good but beside the tea urns are Nescafe satchets. We found this out 2nd last day. Also you can boil your own eggs.

Hotel is one street back from beach, a 2 min walk. The hotel did seem to have more elderly people, but it didn't bother us. We felt like teenagers amongst them and most were really friendly and boy can they eat. Never seen so many heaped plates. Staff in dining room were polite.

Cleaner on our floor, won't mention any names, but she was a bit full on and we always tried to hide from her. Maybe because we were younger than the usual guest.

We didn't stay in for any entertainment so can't comment on it, but I do know that the Spanish come in for it hence the 6.50 euro price for most drinks, but guests staying in hotel show your room card and you get guest rate.

I will definately return to this hotel again.

Stayed at Don Pancho for New Year on half board basis,

However you can have either lunch or dinner if you wish. We chose lunch because we like to try the different restaurants in the evening.

We did not think much of the food, although there was a very good choice for breakfast, found that the cooked breakfast was very greasy and could not get a good cup of coffee.

Hotel and room were spotless, the maid service was excellent as was the service of the staff overall. Hotel is in an excellent position just a very short walk to the beautiful beach and then a lovely walk along the promenade to the old town and just round the corner for all the cabaret bars.

Cannot comment on the entertainment because we did not stay in the hotel in the evening. The New Year gala dinner was very good. some people who had also been there for Xmas said that the New Year was better than Xmas.

We were very pleasantly surprised by the standards at this hotel, particularly the carpeted rooms and generosity of drawer/wardroble space. The standard of cleanliness was also excellent.

The buffet breakfast and evening meal were excellent, not only a large choice but also changes in variety of food on offer, which meant every meal was a surprise and delight. Also pleased with the mix of international, English and Spanish food.

Spanish and other European guests were also well represented, which added to the experience. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Must say this is the best hotel we have stayed in
Benidorm.

Reception staff couldn't be more pleasant and helpful. You get the wow factor as soon as you walk into the hotel. all rooms and corridors are carpeted so cuts down any noise from "high heeled" shoes ect. Rooms to a good standard, very clean, all have sea views. Some noise from main road especially the mopeds but double glazing cuts out 90%.

The restaurant spotless good choice of food, carvery most nights, even roast beef and yorkshire pud. Breakfasts good cereals, bacon egg ect. and an amazing choice of fruit. flasks of coffee on tables a very good idea and it was good coffee.

Pool area good size always managed to get beds although usual marathon with towels of a morning, same people every day! Pool side bar waiter service majority very pleasant.

This hotel warrants its 4 stars

Entertainment caters more for older generation but was nice to sit and have a drink before going out. Hotel not really suitable for children, but great for adults who have passed children stage.

We are definitely booking for next year

After staying at two first class four star hotel this year,my first impression of the Don Pancho was that it would have difficulty in matching these two fine hotels,in my opinion the Don pancho enjoys repeat business from more mature clients, who can't be bothered to change hotels, therefore the management do not feel the need to make any changes.

The food standard at the Don Pancho is acceptable, but don't expect the WOW factor at this hotel.

My conclusion is that the hotel is stuck in the past and will wake up one day when their elderly clients pass away.

Stayed at the Don Pancho Nov 05 for 6 nights, enjoyed every minute of it.

Restaurant very clean and has an air of sophistication without being stuffy. Food very good with lots of choice don't be afraid to taste things cooked "the local way" they're delicious.

Staff excellent.

Entertainment not typical English seaside stuff but more Spanish BUT very good we enjoyed the dancing (though hubby has to left feet) we waltzed like experts. Had some great speciality acts on especially the knife thrower!!! Resident trio very good.

If your polite and pleasant with the staff it will be returned 10 fold.

We booked this hotel thinking it would be great and in our opinion it is not as good as a four star hotel could be.

The hotel is very clean and in a great location but the staff dont have much time for English people and the food could be a lot better.

Avoid the poolside bar if your looking for a friendly smiling face and good service because in our opinion your made to feel a pain asking for a drink when the staff are busy chatting and watching telly.

I only wish we had learnt Spanish before we went and then we would have probably been treated as if we were on holiday.

A smile from hotel staff goes a long way.

My husband and I stayed in the Don Pancho along with seven of our friends to celebrate my 40th Birthday. We had been told that this hotel is the best in Benidorm.

The reception staff and dining room staff were very helpful, polite and friendly. On the day of my birthday they agreed to my friends decorating a table in the dining room and even provided a helium balloon and cake.

We did not stay in the hotel after dinner in the evening as the entertainment was not good. The female lead singer could not sing a note and the only dancing is ballroom. The hotel seamed to be full of older middle class spanish people.

The hotel is totally unsuitable for children with no activities for them, however, this does mean that the pool area is quiet and you can always find a sun bed at any time of the day.

The staff at the pool bar are very surley and unfriendly and as the pool area is locked at night, they start making it quite obvious that you are not welcome when it gets after 5.30pm.

The food in the hotel is quite good but could be better for a four star hotel. The porrige in a morning is not to be missed.

Finally, a tip, always book to your room at this hotel you will received a very good discount.

Excellent. Food superb with so much choice and waiting staff second to none - knew what you were drinking at the table by the second evening. Hotel exceptionally clean and location was spot on - two minutes to beach and views of sea from room fab. All staff were polite even at the pool side! Entertainment was fine although could be a bit more varied regarding the resident trio and a bit more up-dated but other than that, super. Cannot fault this hotel in any way. My husband and I initially went for 5 days but extended the stay for a further 5 days due to the fact that this hotel had to be the best there. recommended, definitely but not alot for children in the hotel.

My wife and I stayed last 27years ago, it was excellent then as it is now. Some of the Staff were there then including the Manager. We could not fault the rooms, cleaniness, reception, restaurant, and bars.

Taliking to other guests, we found non of them had any complaint regarding anything. All Staff were very efficient and helpful and friendly.

We have booked for four weeks next March, and are lookignforward to it. Although we have and A I to take this Otober./

My wife and I booked into this hotel unexpectedly as our booked accommodation was very sadly lacking. What a fantastic hotel.

The food was very good, as was the cleanliness of the hotel.

All staff were very attentive and helpful.

Entertainment in the evening was totally unexpected as we were staying in early February which is totally out of season.

We would definitely stay there again if in town. Well done Don Pancho...you deserve the stars.

We booked this hotel through Broadway Travel on the Internet and were e-mailed a hotel voucher.

On arrival at the hotel the check in was excellent, all our details were already logged on their computer and we were allocated a room on the 8th floor.

The rooms are fine. Not fabulous or extremely high standard. Just adequate. My only gripe was that the cleaners had obviously been trying to wash stains from the carpet and there were numerous wet patches which were horrible underfoot. This was just a minor irritation as everything else was spotlessly clean. There were soaps, shower gel etc provided in the bathroom and the towels were changed daily. The hairdryer is ok if you are male. I had to buy one as the standard (attached to the wall type) was just not powerful enough to dry my hair how I wanted it (Vanity - I know) The rooms were cleaned every day and the cleaning staff were extremely pleasant and friendly.

The dining room was well organised, there were no queues to get in, there were always tables and there were huge amounts of staff so the tables were cleared as soon as you had finished.

For breakfast you are given a big thermos jug of coffee/tea on your table which for me was just heaven. I am a serious morning coffee drinker and it sure beat standing in a queue at the coffee machines which are standard in most of the dining rooms I have been in. The food was also of a very high standard. In fact if I had stayed here for any more than a week I could not have fitted into my clothes to come home!

You don't even need to take beach towels when staying at the Don Panco as you are given pool towels free of charge. You request these at the reception and return them after a couple of days for fresh ones. There is a sign on your way out to the pool area saying that towels on beds with nobody on them will be removed. I really wish this had been enforced as the morning sunbed ritual was carried out with military precision. Why oh Why do people insist on reserving beds then disappearing off to the market or god knows where, till lunch time before putting in an appearance on a bed which no-one has dared to move the towel from. They should have a security guard on duty monitoring this and it would soon stop. It is a stupid, selfish practice.

Anyway, the hotel is in a great position, in fact probably the best position, central to everything and best of all right next door to my absolute favourite shoe shop Montiel. Three pairs of shoes later and I was on nodding terms with the staff each time we walked past.

Finally, on our last day we had a late flight and we were given the key to an empty room to shower and change in which was just brilliant.

All-in-All a first class hotel. Maybe the bedrooms could do with a little modernisation though and it would just be perfect!!!

The Don Pancho hotel was, in my opinion, a very well run and very clean and comfortable hotel.

The hotel staff, from the receprtionists to the maids I found everyone very polite and attentive.

The food was excellent with plenty of choices, drinks and snacks were plentiful.

The pool area was excellent.

The rooms were clean and comfortable and of average size and the balcony overlooked the sea (13th floor).

I will certainly return to this hotel in the future and highly recommend it. Worth every star of its four star rating.

Just returned from 1 week at Don Pancho.

This was undoubtedly the best hotel we've stayed in in Benidorm and if possible pay the extra and book.
All facilities were as promised (and more). The staff especially were excellent in every respect.

We booked flight only and directly with the hotel at http://www.don-pancho.com and saved a small fortune over Thompson's price.
Not for children...

The room was excellent especially for the excellent view as all rooms in the hotel have balconies facing the sea.

Regarding the hotel: Its situation and all the staff, I would only describe as excellent. After three visits to the hotel and on each visit it was my experience that the clientel was of mixed nationality with a fair number of people from the UK, mostly in the 50-70 age group and all having a lovely time.
