the only good thing was the size of the rooms and the modern kitchen the bad points bed linen change once in the 2weeks there towels 3 times changed only one lift working at night , you had to pay for sunbeds 1.50, 3.00 euros aircon that leak, 1 euro per hour tv . they was no kids club and no day or nighttime entertainment and no rep on site . teens would thow stones down on you if you sat outside pool bar and when they come in early hours bang on doors and play music loud and if you ask them to turn it down you were threaten. put me off benidorm all together

I will write only as accomodation as I was all inclusive i had to go along the road for everything else.

It is correct the maids are not regular, we had 1 toilet roll every 3 days for 5 of us. Towels every 3 days & sheets once in 13 days.

Air con is 3 euro per day, telly 1 euro per hour & no british channels, at least the one time we used it. Sun beds you pay for. Not good.

After reading the reviews on these apartments I was slightly concerned. The apartments themselves are large and much bigger that the Hotel Flamingo. Ours was newly re-firbed there is a shared kitchen/living or 2nd bedroom area and a double bedroom. The kitchen was very well equiped although we did'nt really use it as we was AI over the road. There was a fridge freezer, oven and halogen hob and loads of cupboard space. There were also plenty of plug sockets wich unless you are under 5ft are easily reached.

My main fault with these apartments were the maid service which happened twice in 10 days and then she only gave towels and loo rolls. I had to ask for sheets and make up the second set of beds myself. At the end of the 10 days the dust was filthy so I think this is a real issue with this apartment block

After reading several reviews before our holiday i was very concerned about Flamingo Playa Apartments in Benidorm. Most of the reviews expressed that the apartments were very basic and unclean. When we arrived all of our concerns had vanished. The apartments are excellent. It has just been referbished and are currently putting finsihing touches to a second swimming pool. All facilities within the rooms are brand new the only down fall is the pay as you go televison (but who watches tv on holiday). The only other down side is the lifts as they can be very slow in peak times. All staff where very polite and friendly. Snacks are available throughout the day and a very reasonably priced. Away from the apartments is the famous Titanic bar which i highly recommend, excellent food, drink and staff. I have never normally published a review on the internet but felt that these apartments needed to be commended dispite the negative feedback they have recieved in the past. A great holiday!!!!!!!!!

We got a cheap week with Thomsons in this hotel for £56 per room, so can.t complain.

About a 10 minute walk to nightlife and beach, didn't eat in hotel, had breakfast in pub around corner the Titanic, which served great breakfasts for 2.50euro.

The maids came in once in the week to change sheets and twice to change towels.

The pool always had beds but the pool was very very cold.

Rooms had cooker, grill, kettle and toaster, which were free of charge, would def go back if got bargain again.

Went AOA, not to bad a hotel good base if thats what you want just don't expect too much.

Staff polite if not pleasant entertainment average, but you're in Benidorm and there's entertainment everywhere.

Pool clean sunbeds available cos you pay for them would prefer that to not been able to get one cos all those that put towels on then go out for day.

Rooms not brill but ok guess we got what we paid for saying that we had a great time as we went looking for fun every night

I was a bit surprised by some of the comments on here.

Found our room basic but clean....... no cobwebs and no mildew.

Staff were ok, were effeicient, but weren't over friendly.

Heard some noise during the morning......but nothing too bad.

Would I caome there if i have a family....yes no problem.

The entertainment programme was very poor. Buy hey, theres loads in the centre.... try Churchills for the kiddies entertainment.

Maybe we were lucky.... but found it very good. But please remember its a basic 2 star hotel... not the Ritz. you get what you pay for....

This was the 7th time we have stayed in this hotel and it was certainly the worst stay and will also be the last time. What was a family hotel it now has changed to a hotel for large groups of young people who do not think twice about throwing objects off the balconies or shouting and swearing at 4am. My 2 year old daughter was woken up every night by all the noise.

The cleaning rota was diabolical and the rooms were filthy. In two weeks we only had the beds/towels changed twice. The floors were not swept.

The entertainment was all the same so we went out of the hotel instead.

We all came away very disapointed and I recommend that unless you enjoy being woken up at all hours and you don't mind dodging the falling objects then I would book into a different hotel.

Staff were a joke. Bar staff were rude and unpolite. First day we used two tip them. They never said thank you and use to grab the money of the plate and walk away. Never tipped again went and drank in the great friendly staffed hotel down the road the Rio park.

If you book take a hard hat with you thinks being thrown off balconies all the time. Staff wasn't interested when reported.

Please keep away if you have young children.

Apartments are a joke, we had to buy bleach and disinfectant as soon as we arrived but the smell still remained. Thomson reps don't want to know if you have any problems( after all they have had your hard earned money why should they) they only want to sell you trips at top notch prices.

The noise is horrendous maybe it should be turned into an 18 -30 complex as it definitely not for families, restaurant on site not bad food edible and quite cheap.

Some of the reception staff quite surly.

All in all a very unpleasant experience anyone booked this complex believe pay the difference and have your booking altered this place is a nightmare

The hotel was great! It was clean and pleasant. The beds were spotless. The rooms are only cleaned every 3 days which was no major problem either.

There was enough space for the 4 of us. The food in the hotel was okay - similar to what you would make at home.

The hotel location is about 10 minutes walk from the beach which after a couple of days does get a bit tedious but the taxis are so cheap - just watch for the guys who have 3e on the clock already when you get into the car. It is close to the old town which was good.
There is a bank just down the road - which was great and the restaurants are all close by.

The hotel staff were fantastic and bent over backwards to help us no matter what time of day or night we needed them. They were always friendly and always had a huge smile ready for us.

The entertainment was nothing great - if anything - it was boring and tame but there is so much more out there to do - even with children. We put it down to the fact that the summer season hadn't really started yet. We would definitely go back!

The hotel is in quite a good location and not too far from all the action.

The room was only cleaned once in the week we stayed and the beds were only changed once which I was not happy about at all.

I can put up with a lot but like a clean bed. The staff were very nice and very helpful especially when one of our party ended up in hospital.

Self catering but didnt want to touch anything in the apartment as it was filthy, so ate out all the time, thank goodness its cheap.

Cleanliness - well as stated above, I have photos - it was awful.

Lifts continuously broke down.

Location we were warned about and it was as expected. However, taxis are so cheap it doesnt matter where you are in Benidorm, just watch out for the home made euro in your change.

Staff - I would say go and get another job as they are obviously not happy, and this is the entertainment industry.

Entertainment was what it was Butlins style but repetetive, at least they tried. ( its Benidorm your surrounded by it anyway.

Would I visit again ? No chance, if my house isnt that dirty then I certainly dont want to pay to stay in it.

I think it fair to say, nothing has changed in 2 years.
Cant see it happening now. Its used as an overflow.

There is a new Flamingo that is lovely, make sure you know which one you are staying in!!!!!

Well after booking then reading some of the reviews here about the "Flamingo Playa" I thought "oh no!!"
well what can I say, for us it was totally awesome.

Accommodation was ok. Apartment had 2 rooms plus bathroom. Both rooms where small in size but still ok for a family party i.e 2 kids and adults. Rooms were clean but could do with a little upgrade i.e score marks on tables, some chips on cabinets but for a budget holiday I don't think it's nothing to complain about. Balcony was brill really big in size. We had 8 off us sitting out on it one afternoon and the view was ok as well.

As for eating in the hotel, we only eat once and the food was good. Good range of food on menu for kids as well i.e hotdogs, burgers, chips pizza etc etc and the prices were a lot cheaper than I thought. Most of the time we eat at the nearest bar which was called the Titanic. You can get e breakfast there for 2.50 euro which I would recommend. No point in searching all round the resort for anywhere else in my opinion.

The bar in hotel was ok as well. Price for cruzcampo lager (local beer) was only 1.20 euro.

Pool at hotel was cleaned every morning. Went in once with kid but I think it was too cold !!! There is also a indoor pool but we never went in. Looked ok though.

As for things to do in Benidorm there is a lot more than just sitting in pubs drinking the cheap local beer. I would recommend a day to the Mundomar, really worth the money. The market is also good on a Saturday and Wednesday. There is also a good hotel next to the market for the bored men to have a little refreshment as the wives check out the stalls. Nust beware of the pickpockets at the market especially round the 3 potato trick.

We have been home 2 days and wish we wernt, we could of stayed there alot longer, the Hotel was marvelous no complaints what so ever,

We stayed on the 12th floor and the view was amazing, rooms were very clean and tidy, staff were very polite

The pool was great just laid ther sun bathing ordering drinks superb.

We went self catering so eat out everyday, we definately reccomend TITANIC and WOOKEY HOLLOW 2, food and staff were excellent also CHURCHILLS for a night out, very freindly and welcoming staff.

We will be going back next year for definate would advise this hotel to everyone.

Closest shop is at the bottom of hotel, but the nearest is 30 seconds walk, beach is 5-10 mins walk.

Just got back will never go to Flamingo Playa again. The rooms were filthy beds rock solid, shower hanging off wall no cold water coming from bathroom sink, t.v. did not work (but it would take your money)

The lifts were very old and stuffy the building wants pulling down. After paying £1390 pounds I expected a lot more. Last time I was in Benidorm we stayed at Bueno Vista it was lovely and clean, modern glass lifts, "free t.v." and a fraction of the price.

I will go back to Benidorm and that joke of a hotel will not even be in my view it was disgusting. We would not even eat a packet of crisps in that room never mind self cater.

My advice to everyone out there is "don't even go there"

The food was not good at all in the Playa Hotel Apartments' Restaurant.

The Cleanliness was adequate with changing of bed linen/bath towels twice a week.

It only took 10 minutes walk to beach/shops.

Staff (apartment reception) were very attentive and delivered all quests.

Cannot comment on the entertainment. We were out all nights.

We stayed on the first floor directly above the bar area, the room was filthy the bath took three goes with a scourer and domestos before the grime budged.

The living room was thick in dust as though it had been untouched for years the balcony and bedroom stunk of cat urine, the furniture was black and sticky. As there was no rep available at the time we had to go and buy bag fulls of cleaning products to make the room habitable.

We had cockaroaches ants and beetles. Our first night there we climbed into bed only to find they had sand in them we hadn't been near a beach!! During the night woke to find a scabby cat in our room and two more on balcony!!! They were living on the roof of the bar below and could just jump up onto balcony I have been to Benidorm 4 times and this was by far the worst filthiest most awful smelling hotel I have ever been to.

We had to mop balcony twice a day to rid the smell of the cats urine.

The Flamingo Playa Apartments were great! We stayed in the smaller building and it was full of people around our age!(18+)So there was a constant PARTY!!!The entertainment was alright but more for kids and families.

During the day by the pool was great and the drinks kept flowing from the lovely bar staff. The reception staff were helpful when a friends bag got stolen and when we needed somwhere nice to eat!!

Location is alright a bit far from the beach but only 5euros to the square! Its not really up a hill at all though!I also recommend TITANIC a bar resteraunt round the corner, cheap and tasty!

I would recommend this hotel to anyone but mainly younger people who don't mind a bit of noise and a good laugh!!

I'll definitely go back here!

Hi! I went to the Flamingo Playa Apartments with my family for my birthday. I really enjoyed it.

The room was nice.

Food was nice and the waiters were the best thing. The waiters especially one of them was lovely. I got my picture took with him. I had a crush on him all the time I was there.

I am hoping to go back next year with my mates.

We loved the Flamingo Playa, they were lovely and clean and the staff were friendly. The only problem we had was with a large group of blokes. They kept us awake through most of our 10 night stay and they upset another family that we got to know by throwing flour on their balcony on the early hours. We told the rep but he was not interested.

We are going back to Benidorm next year but we are staying at the Rosa Park apartments, I'll let you know what they are like!

There were 22 of us on this holiday/two birthdays.

Stayed self catering our apartments did need a face lift but they did the job.

Ate just the once that was enough. Lots of places to eat Wookey Hoolow just down the road was lovely. Cheap.

If you don’t mind walking you are not far from the beach.

Hotel staff 1 or 2 not bad 1 or 2 don’t know how to smile.

We went out every night, stayed for the happy hour then hit the town.

Kids had a ball.

Would go back here only if the price was right because we got a good deal with Portland.

What made this a good holiday was the company the lovely hot sunshine and a bad headache in the morning.

Just back from a week at the Flamingo Playa, room was basic but had everything you need, walls, ceilings and floors are not very soundproof so just hope you get quiet nieghbours, LOL.

Rooms have a great balcony to lie and soak up the sun all day.

Never ate in the building as they didnt start serving at night till 7 pm, menu looked ok and cheap.

We ate at a bar just along the road. The Titanic. Food was great , try the chicken curry mmmmmmmmmm.

The apartments are just a fine distance back from the sea and old town.
I would go back to the flamingo, if the price was right, not worth paying too much if better is available.

This hotel was rather clean and had very friendly bar.

Staff and brilliant, entertainment but the only thing was if you had to go for a couple months it would be seeing the same entertainment because I don’t think it changes regularly.

I and my family didn't try the food in the hotel as there were lots of brilliant places just round the corner.

The location was brilliant a 10 minute walk to the beach and there's a pub called the Iceberg just round the corner.

I would definitely visit this hotel again.

One more thing to add is the maintenance was great because the day before we came home the ten of us decided to take the lift with all of us in it even though it only was meant for 6 people and 450kg and it jammed but it took a press of a button and then the men came after about 5mins because well they had to find what floor we were on then they got the mechanic out no problem and he got it fixed and we didn't fit ten in again.

Overall I'd say it was a brill hotel for all that you're in it.

The entertainment was good for kids and the indoor pool was brill the outdoor pool was freezing but you can't expect anything better as it was in November.

On the first night we got there there I thought £Oh no I don't like this" but on the second day there I thought "This hotel is great".

The rooms were big and the hotel had a lot of things to do in it.

The bar staff were very frendly and kind to us.

The pool was great, the outdoor pool was very cold but I still went in it. The pool was big and deep it was 1.70m deep. There were 2 big and 2 small out door pools and they were very clean. The indoor pool was big and was heated, and that went up to 1.45m deep. The indoor pool shut at 5pm and was always very busy when I went in.

There were 10 of us altogether and we never tried the food but it looks very nice.

The location of the hotel was brill it was about 5-10 mins from the beach.

I would definitely go back to that hotel it was good and had good things to do in it.xx

First impression of Hotel was good nice staff, pool area was good.
Our room was in the annex part of the hotel. The room itself was a bit dissappointing, very old furniture cracked tiles on the floor, broken shelves in the wardrobe and basicaly in need of modernising.

I was a bit put out but then it occured to me thet this was only 2* accomodation and that I really couldnt complain. By the time we settled in on the evening it really didnt bother us at all.

This hotel is not quality but it is fine if you want reasonable basic accomodation.
10 minute walk to the beach but theres plenty of shops and bars on the way so its a pleasant walk.

Hotel looked a bit tired to us.

It could take ages to wait for the lifts as there were only two serving twenty odd floors.Luckily we were only on the eighth so we could walk up if necessary.

Floor of our room was filthy, and the first job was to clean it! Towels were changed more frequently than some other reports suggested.Room sizes were adequate (as was the kitchenette), with a large balcony which overlooked a piece of land on which once stood an hotel but now just bare ground.

Did not have much to do with the Spanish hotel staff, but seemed friendly enough. Holiday reps on the other hand misled us about an excursion and then treated us with contempt when we complained. Have both seen better entertainment at butlins!

The hotel is about a 10 minute walk to the beach.

We stayed in the Flamingo Playa apartments, self catering, for two weeks.

We found the apartments to be very dirty with the foors covered in dust!

The staff were very very ignorant and seemed to have more time for the people they were working with than the people staying there!

The location was not bad as all the entertainment was just 10 minutes down the road!

We were self catering though we did stay in the hotel for a meal in the restaurant which we found to be worth the money, although we did have to wait a very long time on our meal after we had ordered!

We never stayed in for the entertainment!

Some advice - don't go to these apartments, believe me, even if you have to pay a little extra to go to another hotel like (Sol Pelicanos which is quite good) it would be worth it!

I definitely won't be going back to the Flamingo Playa apartments!

We spent two weeks in this hotel and found it to be a very stressful time.

We were not informed that we would be placed in the hotel annex, which was obviously an overspill used for groups of young male/females. It was very noisy and despite reporting anti-social behaviour to the reps, nothing was done about it.

There was substantial damage to the room and the cleanliness was sub-standard.

As we were self catering, we didn't eat at the hotel. The location was fine; however, our room was adjacent to a pathway leading to the main street (Gerona), which contains the majority of Benidorm's British bars. We never got a decent nights sleep through noise.

The staff were friendly although the bar staff didn't seem interested in passing the time of day. Having witnessed the state of the pool area at the end of each day(discarded bottles, rubbish etc,)I can hardly blame them.

Didn’t stay in the hotel to witness the entertainment.

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone over the age of twenty, as this is obviously a club 18-30 facility, wrongly branded

EXCELLENT!!
Party of 8 stayed here for 1 week age ranges from 19-46yr.

We loved it stayed in the annexe rooms 0a 0b. Entertainment was ok we had a huge bbq on a Tuesday night.

If your looking for an excellent base to have fun, drink loads, and sun bathe this is a brilliant place to be and all for £244 with insurance, room kept on for the day and meals on plane!-and no this was not a late deal it was booked in aug 2003.

At the end of the day you pay for what you get-its a 2star!! If you want luxury book a 4star or dont go to Benidorm! I would definately recommend it and go back next year.

Just down the road is a duty free bar -bottles of Amstel for 50cents=35p!!!

I found the hotel was clean and well kept. The rooms were tidy and suitable for us to stay in, although they did get very warm as there was no air conditioning. The apartments were within about a 10 minute walk from the Lavante beach and about a 5 minute walk from the square (the main bars and nightclubs). The hotel food was lovely and I recommend eating at the restaurant at least once... the chef was great! They were huge portions and incredibly cheap! All the staff at the Flamingo Playa were friendly and the bar staff were amazing. None of my party spoke Spanish but we still managed to have a laugh and a joke with them all. The only problem we had was with the reception staff. They didnt seem that interested in the guests and were slightly miserable to say the least. This was made up for with the entertainment though. The entertainer could not be faulted! He was great with the kids and spent time chatting to the individual guests. I am hoping to return to this apartment next year!

Well, I've been to Benidorm 12 times and this has to be the worse hotel ever. The hotel food is horrible I've never tasted food as bad. The cleaners just chucked the towels in the room.

The location of the hotel was far away from everything but there was a nice bar round the corner (Iceberg). The woman behind the counter was nice but the man behind the bar was horrible.

The entertainment was ok but they did the same thing every night. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone.

We stayed in the Hotel Flamingo Playa for two weeks and did not enjoy the stay there.

The cleanliness in the hotel was very bad as there were blood stains on the sheets of the bed and dust everywhere.

The staff in the hotel were very rude and tried to rip you off.

The entertainment is the same every day.

I would never go back to this hotel!

Overall I think the apartments were very basic and did not meet what we had payed for our holiday.
The hotel staff were very ignorant and tryed to make extra money from us at every opportunity....we werent happy at having to pay for the tv, which didnt work, and pay for a safe to keep our valuables safe as crime was a major issue.
the lifts were unacceptable, not safe as some of us got stuck in them and were like saunas as they were scorching and small.
Rooms were below normal standing cleanliness was very poor.

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, especially to those with children. There was loads of older teenage lads, who didn't seem to care that there was young children in the pool. We only spent 2 days beside our pool in the whole fortnight we were there. The lifts were terrible, slow and had no air conditioning in them, so they were like sweat boxes.

The entertainment was OK, but I thought there would have been more on for the kids.

The majority of the staff there were nice, but there were a couple that weren't too friendly or helpful.

All in all I did not think this was a good holiday especially for Thomsons.

Our 1st visit to the Flamingo Playa was 1999 lovely place and well run. Second visit well we are just home. Same staff as 1999 same room decor same furniture. We have slept on blown up lilos on living room for 2 weeks bed and couch so hard.

1st night pull out bed cover was soiled with human dirt which we had changed, put light on in living room blow whole apartment still waiting for it to be fixed. The restauarant had lovely meals and not over priced.

The bar had happy hour which was from 9-11ish bar staff excellent great team. The entertainment is grim same every night karaoke kids disco 3 dances, the shows they have in forget them.

The lifts take 2 weeks to get you to your room that is when they are not sticking no air in them either. Noise very bad we were all like sitting targets for things from fag ends to water to chairs and cans lager coming over balconies. Excellent location as you are in resort but out for the quiet when you get it. The staff or reps were not so good they never seemed to talk to the guests and spanish staff were ok with us as we can speak bit spanish and correspond. Would not go back again very disgusted as Thompsons are supposed to be one of the best. One consolation was the sun terrace bar over from apartments really would recommend lovely family and good food at very good price cheers to Lesley and family for making our holiday

Just returned from 1 week stay at the Flamingo Playa, the accomodation was ok, generally clean enough in an OK location - close enough to walk to the beach or main restaurant and bars within 10 mins. The lifts were a nightmare, queuing for ages with other guests pushing in, breaking down regularly though we were lucky enough not to be in one when it happened. The staff were ok, not rude but not overly helpful either. The pool was freezing. The Flamingo Playa wouldn't be my first choice if I went back to Benidorm but I wouldn't point blank refuse to stay there either - we treat it as somewhere to sleep and get changed.

The hotel room was fairly clean but the towels and bedding were only changed once. The tv didn't work when you put the money in. At night the noise wasn't bad but you could hear the furniture being scraped across the floor. The lifts were bad and we got stuck in one for about 15 minutes and we found that we weren't the only ones complaining.

Stayed the first 2 weeks of September, fine if you want somewhere to crash, never sampled the delights of the catering, the bar prices are quite good, happy hour from 9 till 12, 2 for the price of 1. Entertainment was pretty naff, karaoke, kids disco..... but benidorm itself has something for everyone. Food and drink is really cheap, if you know where to look for it, found a bar where it was 70 cents a pint when the football was on T.V. Only problem is the crime, can be a bit on the dodgy side at night, keep handbags and wallets secure at all times!!!

Hotel was clean enough, lifts where breaking down almost everyday, had to use lift as we had a room on the 20th floor, the view was fantastic, room itself was average, no air con, this was the only downfall

Going back September with the lads, staying in the fiesta park, I would return to this hotel again, not too far from the nightlife.

Overall good holiday. Cleanliness of the hotel was ok stayed for fortnight room cleaned about 5 times. Location was ok long walk to beach but 5 mins from the square where the nighlife for adults was excellent.

Only visted 4 times though as i broke my ankle at aqualandia and was in plaster the rest of my holiday be careful there as when i was on the way to the hospital the taxi driver told me that there are loads of accidents with that slide.

Entertainment was good, hypnotist was on two nights and my sister-in-law was up really funny he told her she had won the lottery!! so funny!

Never ate in resturant but nice bar and snacks at titanic bar round the corner from the apartments.

Lifts were really hot and we were on the top floor so we were baked by the time we got to the top.

just returned from Flamingo Playa 15-03-03 with friends, found apt 's ok in some respects. Although dated in furniture it was clean and probably 2 star.

Having stayed in the Don Salva Apartments close by, which suffered with road noise, the Flamingo Playa suffered with noise from other people. Being a couple our sleeping times did not match the families who were there. The walls and floors being thin and all furniture noise was heard as well as screaming kids. Some other friends stayed in the Pariaso 10 apartments they said it was reasonable but a bag was snatched late at night close to these apartments and the boy run off into the darkness of the scrubland close to the outdoor market.

The hotel food was quite reasonable but the Rio Park near by allowed non residents to go for evening buffet meals for 5.40 euros which is excellent value (if you like that sort of thing).

Regretably I will not return to these apartments. Try the Vacenza Apartments I gather they are better.

Stayed at the Flamingo Playa August 2002. We found the apartments clean but basic. Towels and linen were changed regularly and the staff were friendly and helpful. But watch out for thieves, somebody found a local in their bathroom, although they did admit to leaving their door unlocked.

Food in the restaurant was OK and the entertainment was good, good value happy hour.

I'd recommend it

I was actually pleasantly surprised by the accomodation at the Flamingo Playa Apartments. The reception and bar area were nice and the staff were friendly.

The rooms were ok but not amazing, but they were clean enough and we had a TV! Only thing I would say is check the use by date on anything you buy at the bar. I had a bottle of beer a year out of date!

Stayed at this hotel, we were on a hen party 31 of us, the accomodation is basic but clean. Clean towels and sheets are very short supply.

A new hotel is being built next door, this does cause quite alot of noise throughout the day, but there is building work everywhere in Benidorm at the moment.

It is in a pretty good location away from the husyle & bustle but it is only a 10-15 minutes walk to the beach, 5-10 minutes to all pubs and restaurants. Churchills bar is a must and Cafe Benidorm.
