| said: Stayed in The Tower for two weeks in June 2007, two weeks June 2008 and one week in October, clearly we would recommend this Hotel and it's lovely staff (which we do). Thomas Cook Holidays each time - very professional company.
Every day the rooms are cleaned and fresh towels and linen are given. The cleaners made different patterns with flowers on beds every day (all occupants taking photos of how lovely this was)- and were happy and smiling all the time.
However, the only one complaint this October was that the communal toilets next to the breakfast/dining room was not cleaned or bins emptied (over a day sometimes). We did mention this a few times, but to no avail. The happy smiling cleaners were not there this October - so it goes to show cleaners can make or break your business!!
The owners now have another hotel close by and believe all the efforts are perhaps going into this one. But would still recommend The Tower Hotel and its lovely friendly staff.

| said: Our bedrooms were cleaned everyday, clean sheets everyday, and clean towels. It was spotless. The maids were very polite and helped us when help was needed. The aircon is chargeable at £3.00 per day, but is much needed!
The hotel food was excellent! The breakfast served was a Turkish breakfast, and if like our family you don't do breakfast's a lot it is more than enough. The bar snacks were lovely, by far the nicest chips in Olu Deniz! Chip buttys were excellent!
The location of the Hotel was great. Allthough we were not situated on the beach it was a 10 minutes slow walk to the beach and a 3 minute walk to the shops. The location is quite private, with a few Hotels situated around it.A very peaceful, and family orientated hotel.
The hotel staff were fab. They were extrememly friendly and were always very helpful. The sunbeds were cleaned everyday and there was usually no problem getting them for the day. They were constantly walking round moving rubbish, empty glasses, and dirty ash trays if not needed. Pool cleanliness was top class and we found no problems with it. Safety-Any problems were sorted instantly.
There was only one set of entertainment per week. Usually a Turkish night which we enjoyed very much. The food was top class, and the Belly dancers, folklaw, & hip hop dancers were very enojoyable. Everyone was encouraged to join in and a good night was had by all. One of the Turkish nights was our daugthers birthday, and one of the bar staff insisted we stayed for this because they planned a suprise birthday cake and they decorated everywhere with balloons, it was made a very special night and it was a lovely gesture.
The only down side is the bar tabs, you must keep checking these, and make sure you sign and check what you have had.
We would definetly visit this hotel again, and we did not want to come home!

| said: I myself was very sceptical about Turkey, but WOW what an amazing place. Firstly Turkish people are so friendly, the resort of Olu Deniz is gorgeous and very safe, and the weather when we were there was between 47 and 52 degrees C!
The hotel rooms are quite basic, but have got everything you need. They are cleaned as little or as often as you like, it's your choice.
All rooms have air conditioning, but they charge you £3 per day for it, we only went for a week, but it was the best £21 we spent.
All the grounds in the hotel complex are very clean and the pool is not too big, but very nice.
We found the staff very friendly spoke good English and served up traditional Turkish food for breakfast, which if you’re not too narrow minded is actually quite nice.
The beach is only 5 minutes walk away, but you do have to walk past an array of shops and restaurants all vying for your custom, with the usual Turkish charm.
There is a 'No Hassle Policy' in Turkey, so if you don't want to go in, you just politely say no and they'll move on to the next person, without running after you. There are also no timeshare people hassling you to buy, which is a refreshing change from Spain.
I highly recommend the Paragliding, I was a little nervous at first, but Wow, what an amazing experience! We booked my paragliding through our rep, but a short walk to the sea front and you can get the same thing for nearly half price.
Restaurants to try are: Buzz Beach Bar, Help, and Bella Gusto. They are all a little more expensive than the ones on the back streets, but well worth it.
We also liked to end our night sat on the beach with a few drinks at either the 'Sunset' or 'Sunrise' cafe bars, just to sit on the beach on a bean bag with your feet in the sand until 1 or 2 am was the perfect wind down.
One last thing, you need not change your money into Lira’s before you travel as most of the shops and restaurants prices are in £’s, and would rather you pay in GBP (Sterling).
The tower hotel and Olu Deniz, we'll see you next year!!!!!!

| said: Warm welcome at first soon changed as we were being told by other people at the hotel what was going on with their bar bills trying to rip us off by adding things on to the bills write down what you have every night. My husband and son watched them wash the straws out and reuse them.
The sun loungers were never cleaned or the ash trays only when you went to complain and the women would shrug her shoulders and walk off not very friendly. Wanted your money but didn't want us.
Their cleaners would throw big plastic bowls with dirty sheets and towels in over the balcony where we were walking it could have seriously hurt us if it landed on us when we told them they just laughed.
We saw young child and adults cut theirselves on the side off pool where all the grouting had all wore away told management nothing was done about it. The 2 weeks we were there 6 people cut themselves.
Air conditioning was a rip off you had to be in the room to have it on key activated.
The toilets by the pool were hardly cleaned the 2 weeks we were there kids had stood on the seat with dirty feet and the marks were still there when we left.
It is never a 3 star hotel very basic for the money we paid.
The bar staff were getting thrown in the pool 3 times a day their attitude stunk never knew what manners were.
People who had booked half board were being charged £10 for barbecue when that was their evening meal.
I says there is entertainment there is none what so ever they are to miserable to put any entertainment on. They might have to smile.
They had 2 dogs at the hotel they could have done with a bath stunk.
They didn't allow food or drink to be brought into the hotel but everybody went to the shop next door too dear in hotel and they kept wanting you to run up a bar bill we know now why because they were ripping everybody off.

| said: We stayed for one week here.
Breakfast was ok for this type of stay.
The place was clean although the cleaning staff were not patient when the came whilst you were still inside, even when you answered the door and said you would be a minute or two they would keep knocking and shouting cleaning, cleaning. The beds I found un comfortable also I thought air conditioning should be included from the start.
We did not have any other meals there.
The main plus point is the location, 5 mins to beach, restaurants, etc,.
Only saw the belly dancer once whilst we had a rare drink at the bar. We prefer to go out anyway and the bar was quiet, service slow, staff picked ice up by hand which puts me off..
Its a pity for this place as a small amount of training and a little up grading would make it excellent. The girl on reception was excellent ..

| said: We enjoyed our stay at the Tower Hotel very much.
The Tower is basic but is kept clean and has everything you need on site. Every day we returned to find fresh bedding and our room cleaned nicely. As has been mentioned by others....the swimming pool is very clean indeed. There are a few ants and small midgey type things entering ground floor rooms but this didnt seem a problem to us. Would seem natural given climate of country! Was very easily remedied too with bug killer and some repellent around doors. We didnt see any really nasty bugs and mosquito's werent noticable during our stay. The hotel also took steps to deal with bugs outside whilst we slept.
The staff at this hotel are diamonds. Attentive without being intrusive and incredibly hard working. Reception staff speak very good English and are willing to help with any local queries. The girl at reception has a smile that could light up worlds! The atmosphere is very relaxed. Some of the waiting staff will play pool with children if they have a bit of free time too.
I cant comment too much on hotel food as we only ate there once. We didnt eat there simply because we like to get out and about. It was no reflection on the hotel. Breakfast was adequate though.
Location of hotel was really good. Far enough off the main drag to be peaceful yet only a couple of minutes walk from all shops/resturants. Beach only 5/10 minutes gentle walk. The views are glorious! Waking up to mountains and sunshine, heavenly!
Entertainment was pretty much non-existent apart from one cheesy belly dancing night a week. We did attend once and still managed to have a laugh despite the tackiness of it. The lack of entertainment was not an issue to us as it was not what we were looking for in a hotel anyway. A clean, friendly base with nice pool was all we really sought.
The comments by first poster regarding solar powered showers seem a little unfair to me given that this is the normal way of water heating in the area. It is not unique to the Tower hotel and really wasnt that bad anyway.
We did not find prices to be terribly inflated in the resort either. A large beer was 3.9 ytl....this works out at approx £1.30. A little more than some of the street bars but pretty average for hotel/b&b prices. When one considers the prices of drinking out in the UK i think there can be no complaint. Soft drinks such as cola were also priced as would be expected (around £1.00).
Perhaps the best way of summing The Tower up would be by saying that we will certainly book here if returning to Olu Deniz.

| said: The tower hotel is basic in it's facilities - no entertainment except for the staff having a laugh and a belly dancer on one night.
The rooms all have Air Con payable at reception, we did not bother with this. Unlike hotels in Spain I have stayed at, this one did have a TV in the room - limited channels and only a small portable.
Generally the hotel and rooms were very clean, the staff very friendly, though the owner/manager was a little aloof.
Showers in the room appear to be powered by solar heated water, so the best time to shower was late in the day and even then it never really got to what you would class as warm.
Beds changed most days and clean towels provided.
Although staying B&B, we did pay (not too much - £8) to have a meal in the evening on a couple of occasions. The food was of a pretty good standard.
The hotel dog(s) did have a habit of snatching wallets and other items for chewing, this was annoying and didn't seem to bother the owner/manager unduly.
The pool was clean and we never had any problems getting a sunbed on the days we did spend time by the pool.
The bar was not too expensive and the staff were both helpful and always willing to have a laugh and a joke, their English was excellent.
The hotel was a a few hundred yards up the hill from the beach, no problems to walk and took you passed a lot of restaurants on the way.
Would definitely use the hotel again, who needs hot showers in that sort of heat.

| said: I have just returned from the Tower Hotel so would like to let others know what to expect. In summary incase you dont want to read the full review heres the good and bad points -
Pros: nice food, decent pool, clean linen, air conditioning (note this isnt free its optional at £3 per day!)
Cons: VERY expensive bar, lots of bugs (flies/ants), unfriendly staff, sleezy barstaff/waiters, accomodation is basic, solar powered hot water (this means unless you shower between 4-5pm its a cold shower im afraid!)
Overall: Do is NOT to go here with high expectations or if you plan on spending alot of time in the hotel. If you just want somewhere to sleep and dont plan on spending alot of time in the hotel bar etc then it will suit your needs. Another thing which needs noted is that if you have a partner or daughter you may find the pursuits of sleezy barstaff/waiters annoying (females aged 12years+ seems to be "fair game" for some of the male staff)
The Full Review
We didnt really go here with high expectations so we werent too dissapointed with what we got. However there are a few things which need to be noted about this hotel.
First and probably most important for alot of holiday makers is the extortionate prices of the drinks at the bar. Not only were they charging DOUBLE the prices of other bars (approx £2.80 a pint for local lager which is £1.40 down the road!) but the price for shorts was ridiculous. We spotted them on several occassions filling up the branded exported vodka/whisky bottles (smirnoff, southern comfort etc) with cheap local "copy" drinks which. This wouldnt have bothered us so much but 1. they tasted wrong 2. they actually state on the pricelist that the reason you pay over £5 for a southern comfort and lemonade (yes you read that right! over £5 for a single shot and mixer!!) is because its imported but then you sit and wathc them fill the branded bottles with cheap local "equivalents" is somewhat annoying! We saw them do this once and thought maybe it was a one off. The folling night we saw it again and decided we would no longer drink in the hotel bar out of principal.
Another thing which surprised us was that the staff were not friendly at all, this was sold as a "family run hotel" which to be honest isnt really the case. Its a mixture of family management and then staff who work there. The management do not want anything to do with the tourists and we witnessed this when the owners answer to a problem with an older couples room was "its not my problem" he claimed he just managed the staff and didnt get involved with complaints (despite the staff saying it could be only dealt with by management). Also the management would never speak to the holiday makers not even smile or say hello (they made it very obvious that they didnt care much for the british) which was very surprising and not what we are used to. The only staff that bothered with the holiday makers were the 21-30 yr old sleezy barmen who literally would only bother to "talk" to the girls to tell them "how beautiful" they are etc. They wouldnt talk about anything general it was 100% chat up/sleeze or nothing at all. One barman in particular would only come and talk to the women who were topless. You would see him within minutes of a woman taking a top off rushing over to "make chit chat" and stare at the breasts which we found very ammusing watching him "scout" the sun loungers for the topless totty.
On our last day despite our rep/noticeboard saying on our final day we checked out on departure (we got picked up at 2.30pm) the receptionist tried to con us out of £30 for missing the 12pm checkout time by 2hours and wanted us to pay for an extra day. He said he had been looking for us to tell us and had been to our room but couldnt find us (despite the fact we had been in the room packing all morning and he hadnt been!) It was only when i said we would take him to view the board in black & white that he said "ok" and that we didnt have to pay. He was blatently trying it on which was quite annoying and not what you expect.
The rooms had LOTS of flies which didnt bother us so much and there are also lots of ants (again they dont really bother us) the only thing that bothered me was the 2 cockroaches we saw. We thought maybe this was because we were on the ground floor perhaps? Again if you get a ground floor room dont expect a balcony our door opened onto a wall and a bush (so we didnt open it) we quite liked it because it meant we got no sunlight into the room so could sleep in. Regarding the bugs one night we came in and thought the hotel was on fire there was smoke everywhere, it turned out it was pest control smoking them out but next day i saw more than ever before so maybe it smoked them in our direction?!
I guess at the end of the day the tower hotel is a business. They are out to make as much money as they can from us tourists. Maybe all hotels are the same but they must just hide it alot better as ive never stayed in one as blatent as this. If i had to stay at this hotel again (which i wouldnt) then i wouldnt give them the slightest opportunity to fleece money out of us. I wouldnt eat or drink there and would only use it as somewhere to sleep. The staff arent nice to be around and its WAY too expensive to drink at the bar (hence the fact it was dead every night) most people wouldnt even stop for a quick one before going out.
The food during the day is really nice i must say, the pizza's are good and pretty good value. The soft drinks arent cheap either, 2 large cokes cost £5+ so be warned!!
