Hotel food rubbish, cleanliness good staff Rambo, Ali Mehmet, Feti, Mahoni all genuine people. Ozzy has a an alterior motive to his kindness he hints at needing money said had to get money off manager for driving test, when I asked another staff member about this he siad he had money for driving test already. Dont be fooled by him. Watch out ladies when chef around, I'm a man who noticed how he conducts himself.

Wouldnt go back here but staff made holiday.

hotel oylum staff were great but the chef was a bitof a leech following guests about on a night and getting them to buy his drinks -one night we even had to escort two ladies out because they were so bothered about him hanging around them, although someone did tell the manager and he got a good telling off!

The rooms are cleaned to a high standard and towels changed daily - theres also free air conditioning!

The hotels located in a good place with plenty of restaurants nearby, which is a goodjob because the food isnt the best in the world (okay if you like pasta and salad)

As for the entertainment you have to make your own because there isnt any!

We have just returned from the Oylum Park Hotel after a three week holiday. On arriving late due to flight we were met by very shy receptionist who took our passports also standingby him was 3 shady looking characters (who turned out to be staff) just watching and telling us we would get passports back which i had to ask for after 10 mins(i got them back no problem). The receptionist Mahoni took us to our room and carried suitcases for us. He went away and within seconds we wanted to move room. Ir was rather damp smelling and quite small. We immediately went back down to see receptionist who moved us straightaway to a better and bigger room, we were quite happy then. Next morning we went down for lunch to be met by a rather friendly cheerful chef who spoke little english. After a day or so i realised what type of person he really was. A leech. Girls beware of this man, he has a wife who is due to give birth any day and any woman who smiles at him he will make a beeline for. He doesnt care if you are with your partner/husband he will try to latch onto you. kept asking to come out with me and my husband we were having none of it. After speaking to other guests in the hotel he would latch on at night and the guests would end up buying his drinks, or he would smoke their cigarettes without offering any back or offering to buy any drinks back. people wew complaining to the bar staff who were telling the manager but manager wouldnt believe it until he saw with his own eyes. However we got quite friendly with manager throughout our stay and when my husband complained to the receptionist, he went to the manager who gave the chef a good telling off in front of everybody. By the way the chef doesnt even cook the food it is brought in by the oylum prestige hotel staff round the back every day,, so i dont even know why he works there!!

Food was o.k if you like chicken and salad. The staff are absolutely wonderful people, and if it wasnt for them we would have been quite bored at the hotel pool. Rambo,Mehmet,Ali,feti, are all wonderful and friendly people, and Mahoni the receptionist once you get to know him you will love him. The only bad thing to say about hotel really is the way it is managed, manager watches staff all day eats dinner and tea there and often has his family around the pool. Particularly a party he held for his young daughter without any warning we were bombarded by screaming youngsters all jumping in the pool and running around with no care for anybody, it was that noisey we had to go back into our rooms. This was very rude of the manager who could of asked the paying customers if they would have minded first but he didnt.

Wouldnt go back to this hotel but not because of hotel because icemler is far too quiet for us.

Have been twice and not bad word to say you get what you pay for in terms of food and it is their to fall back on.
Although chef can be a pain with his silly grins and constant touching of women however we witnesed the manager giveing him a right rollicking after someone complained

arrived at the oylum park hotel, very apprehensive because of the bad reports, unfortuanetly for us the reports are all true!!!!!!! very shabby and dismal surroundings. we arrived in time for breakfast, feeling very hungry after a long transfer. the restaurant was so scruffy dismal and unclean. tried to eat but the only thing you could eat was the bread unfortuanetly the butter was ransid and off. we transferred ourselves out to another hotel at the cost of another £150 each , but it was worth it. the hotel should be demolished and no more holidays sold from that hotel. i have holidayed for 30yrs and this is the first time i have left a hotel. i need say no more!!!!!!!!!!!

I have both worked and holidayed many times in Turkey over the last 10 years. I visited this web site after my booking and was left wondering what to expect on arrival. Being an optimist I thought some of the reasonable reports about this hotel may be more realistic. These realistic reports were made by people staying at the Oylum (4star ) hotel. The Oylum Park hotel cannot be classified as a 3 star hotel by Turkish standards. We arrived early in the morning at breakfast time after a 3 hour transfer from Dalyan airport. The coach made some 20 stops to drop people off at various hotels in Marmaris and Icmeler. We were allocated a family room as no double room was available. The room was true to form judging by comments of others. The patio doors would not lock, there was no way of deadlocking the main door and anyone with a key could enter. The cupboard door was falling off the dressing table and the water stain from the bathroom extended into the bedroom and onto the bed headboard, sockets were coming away from wall which would present a grave danger to inquisitive children. I asked for a change of room to be informed non were available. The receptionist came to the room with screw driver and fixed the dresser door, put handles on draws were they had gone missing and made a repair to the patio door. Having wasted half a day we were resigned to staying in this room. However, 3 days later the receptionist said “you will move to a double room” not would you mind or we’re sorry. We refused and stayed in this room for the duration on the basis that at least we knew the defects here and were not prepared to undertake fault finding in another room. We visited the Oylum hotel to check out their facilities. They are much better but this hotel probably rates only 3 stars. In the Oylum Park the staff were pleasant and the food was reasonable but we are used to more choice in 3 star hotels. Be prepared for the Former Soviet Union contingency who are in the majority at this hotel and possibly the Resort, who barge in front of you at meal times and take soup, main course, salad and desert all in one go so you either eat quickly or join them in this practice otherwise all the best is gone when you go for your next course. The facilities are grubby and the hotel needs a complete face lift. The managers children roller blade around the hotel inside the dining room. The manager appears to take little interest or pride in his hotel. The local drinks are vodka, raki and gin; there was no local brandy or rum which I have had at other 3 star hotels. I tried to obtain a complaints form which is a pre-requisite of any complaint but the local reps have this sewn up by saying it is the other Companys’ reps responsibility. One is only responsible for transfer, the other for the hotel, this latter one never shows up as he knows it will be hassle. We thought the four hour pick up before flight departure was excessive but the coach broke down and we had to wait for a replacement to get us to the airport we had only just sufficient time to check in and get away. We travelled Onur Air but that’s another story for a different complaint. If it’s safety you want fly by another airline going out the safety check for seat belts and seat upright did not occur. (it did on our return).

we arrived at the hotel to be greeted by 2 very solemn faced receptionists, gave our details and was pretty much grunted at and escorted to our room. initial impressions were that it was clean - which is always a plus point but the staff seemed very disinterested. got to the rooms and again were very clean, bathroom small but we could live with that (room 102) we decided to have a quick shower and change and go for something to eat and drink as had been travelling since 5am (now about 6.30pm)went and found the food and bar and all was ok really. the food wasn't fantastic and we ensured that we kept an eye on the amount of cats so we knew what we were eating lol but all in all very turkish but ok. the only real complaint that i would have was the lack of entertainment which is normally a must for all inc. the position of the hotel was great, not far to the very few bars (that all turn the music down @ 12midnight - very disappointing!!)
i wouldn't visit this hotel again, but i don't think i would stay in icmeler again either. lovely little town but lacking in nightlife.
staff became very friendly after a while - i think they must be shy. don't be put off, your holiday is what you make of it and we had a fab time!! so just make the most of it!
p.s. the air con in the room is fab!!!

visited icmeler with my boyfriend and 2 friends aged 22 - 26. Arrived at this hotel at 1.30am and was immediately greeted by 2 guys shaking our hands and carrying our cases off of the bus and up to the rooms. our passports were taken but only for 15 mins and then given straight back. The rooms were clean and the maid was great leaving your covers in fans and flower petals on your bed etc. the air conditioning was a godsend and the shower could be a bit dodgy but it wasnt a big deal. The pool area was clean and tidy and we spent a lot of time there! The bar does offer mostly local drinks but.."When in Rome" eh guys? in fact the local drinks and local measures worked a treat! The staff were fantastic, coudlnt do enough for you! the food was v.good, always a wide choice. perhaps not too great a selection for kids but for all you adults moaning that they didnt cater for the British.....that'll be because you were'nt in Britain! I'm sad to say that the only complaint we had about this holiday was some of the ignorant other british people staying within the hotel, sneaking behind the bar after all inclusive was finished to steal more drink, being rude to staff, swearing at staff....it was actually very embaressing. No wonder when you turn up at these places some staff members may not be quick to be overly friendly. All staff and friends that we had met were out to say goodbye to us when we were leaving and we were all sad to go. i'd go back in a minute!
p.s. dont pay for the beach, oylum park have a free bit that you can use, there's always beds and jimmy will keep you entertained! he'll even go to the shops for icelolly's and water whenever you need it coz he gets it cheaper!

We arrived at the Oylum Park Hotel in the early hours of the morning to be greeted by 2 young lads in a filthy reception area. Our passports were taken and we were given our keys and told to take the lift to our rooms. On finding our rooms we discovered a broken lock on the main door as well as a broken lock on the balcony door. As we were checking the state of the bedroom and bathroom our door opened and the two young boys entered. This was quite frightening as we were 4 married women away on our own for a break. When they left we discovered a very basic low grade room with only a sheet on the top of the bed. The bathroom was mouldy and dirty, the so-called wardrobe was a door behind which was one broken shelf and a very dirty neglected balcony next door to which was a balcony filled with old mattresses and pillows which was totally disgusting.

We did not feel comfortable enough to unpack or wash and change so returned to reception to complain but no-one was available. We decided to go for breakfast but when we returned there was still no-one there. We knew we would not be able to stay at this accommodation and went in search of alternative accommodation which we had to pay 800 pounds for. On our return we were refused our passports and told to wait for rep who arrived many hours later and was of no help at all but assured us we would be picked up from our new accommodation to return to the airport. She did not inform us that because we had moved hotels ourselves we would not be picked up and therefore would have to pay a further 60 pounds for a taxi to the airport.

I would definitely not recommend this hotel to anyone and would advise those travelling to Icemeler to beware of the one rep who oversees all hotels as her ignorant, rude manner was unbelievable and her so-called help and friendliness a front to be rid of us. Everything she told us was lies except for the fact that she agreed about the unbelievable state of the hotel whose food was a disgrace and whose cleanliness was a joke. She actually told us that they were trying to get rid of the hotel from their books because of its low standards. So beware, do not visit the Oylum Park Hotel.

all inclusive what a joke no snacks, same food dinner and tea which was very hard to swallow towards end of holiday, to say the majority of holiday makers there were english/scottish they did not cater for us though you could get full english breakfast for a pound almost anywhere in resort.

limited drinks bar staff were good and friendly especially with the kids or the young russian girls that were there. the hotel was clean but the poolside was filthy, i did not see it being cleaned once whilst we were there the pool closed at 6 but not to be cleaned down. the beds were dirty and there were a lot of drinks spilt, also the use of glass as opposed to plastics around the pool was worrying as they were constantly getting smashed. the pool itself was very clean and chemicals put in everynight.

the location of hotel was good and set back from the noise although we could still hear the noisy turkish music that was played almost constantly from the bar unless it was the boom boom that was always being played.

the staff overall were friendly although it did take till the last day for the manager to crack a smile at us but he did stay up to see us off !! there was no entertainment at all for anyone and the guests were not encouraged to stay in beyond the evening meal which was not hard as most nights we had to eat out as the thought of yet more unknown meat and frozen chips were nausiating. even the salad had a degree of guess work attached to it. we received no welcome pack and the rep jane was no where to be seen most of the time and definately not if there was a complaint to be had

although the rooms were basic they were clean and we got the occasional vase of flowers left by the maid
as a family we would probably not return to this hotel because of a number of reasons and although we enjoyed the holiday that was down to the people we met rather than anything else

The Oylum Park hotel is advertised as a three star. In all truth it is more like a 1*+ hostel.

The all inclusive was very limited with a strict monitoring by the Hotel manager to ensure that when the clock struck 11pm there was absolutely no chance of getting any drinks even if you'd been at the bar before 11pm waiting to be served.

The drinks quality was very poor. The local beer Efes is very good but the beer served in this hotel was vile and could not be found anywhere else in the resort.

The bar staff under obvious pressure from the manager would attempt to serve just soft drinks even when you had asked for alcohol in the drinks, so you would have toreturn and ask for the drinks again.

The Hotel poolside was filthy I never once saw it being hosed down or cleaned in the weeks that I was there. This was evidenced by abandoned food and even an old pair of socks remaining in the same place under a lilo for the whole two weeks.

The lilo matresses had a cotton covering and were filthy and covered in sweat stains and suntan oil from various holiday makers.

The room shower was a disgrace. The tile joints were thick with black mould, the drain did not drain so that if you showered the shower tray filled up and overflowed onto the floor.

Water from the shower head did not spray it just fell from the broken head that was brown with mould. The room was a family room. There was a large damp patch on the head board of the main bed that was seeping through from the shower room wall.

There was only one cupboard for the family room that did not open properly because of the curtain pelmet, so we had to live from the suitcase. The beds were okay if a little lumpy. The air con worked well. The door on the cupboard was broken. The balcony door lock was broken and was not fixed despite various requests to do so.

The towels were changed daily but not the beds. The food was well below basic. The quality of salad food was very poor. This was noticed because of the trips we had went on, where the salad food was similar in type but excellent in quality.

The range of food is non existant it was the same each and every night. The only variation was that if there was sausage meat on the menu for lunch it was recycled as something else for dinner.

The sweet was the same at every meal with no exageration, it was sponge cake soaked in very thin syrup each and every night. Very poor quality food that eventually became nauseating because of its repitition but mostly because of it's poor quality, and I love salad food. No snacks available. The staff except the manager were very friendly.

We did not recieve a welcome pack or any information from the manager/staff regarding mealtimes facilities etc. The manager took to spending his evenings drinking with a specific nationality group of residents.

This caused some concern as when you required him for business he was most often innebriated, particularly early evenings. On one occassion my son was sitting in the main hotel TV lounge and the manger came and without a word took the TV remote from him and handed it to his young daughter who was visiting him.

The hotel is located well back from the beach in a reasonablt seclude spot that helps when things get a bit noisy at night. There is absolutely no entertainment for adults or children, we eventualy made our own amongst the guests. Two major incidents caused us great concern.

All in the holiday was an extremely unpleasant experience. We did try to rescue it by the attitude of 'Well we're here now so let's just make the best of it'. But that was very difficult to maintain under the circumstances. Most residents we spoke to in the hotel had a similar experience.

One couple refused to check in after they were rudely treated by a male hotel receptionist, in the end they were moved to another hotel at a cost of a surplus £175 per person.

Another woman who was with her two kids and her mother broke down crying when she saw the state of the hotel. One couple we spoke to had been visiting this resort for the last eight years and vowed not to return because of their experience with the Hotel.

I'm sorry to say this but if you are booked to go here do your very best to have it changed it is an absolute nightmare of a hotel and I would not recommend it to anyone.

We were very tired on arrival due to being the last party to be dropped off and added to that the driver had decided to stop for a break, when all we wanted to do was get to our hotel.

Before we went I was a little concerned with the previous reviews, however after settling in my feelings are that you get what you pay for and all we wanted was to get away from this awful weather, yes the food was not brilliant but we have had worse at five star accomodation in Turkey.

The staff made our holiday for us they were excellent, very friendly and very helpful, one of them even went to the length of keeping an eye on our 17 year old daughter and her friend when they went over to Marmaris for a night out, he did this discreetly and we can say that was a really nice gesture and it was not even at our request, it was just the staff's concern that Marmaris is a quite a bit wilder than Icmeler.

At the end of the day as stated above you get what you pay for and people who were moaning about the hotel in my opinion were particulary naive to what Turkey has to offer.

Previously someone complained about the manager, he was just shy and once you got to know Turan he was really alright, he thanked us for staying said goodbye to us as we left. Also he gave us many free drinks after time, as I said he was just a quite type who did not come across as really friendly at first - we are all different after all!

The only down side to the Hotel was the inclusion of Russian guests, who were not very friendly at all in fact they made the Germans look like long lost friends, and they drank morning noon and night, admittedly they were not offensive just rather starnge!

As to revisiting this Hotel - we don't make a habit of staying at the same place twice as diversity makes a holiday, however we would recommend The Oylum Park for those looking for a economy break with some nice people, just give it a try!

PS My dughter and her friend will be going back there in October, and we are confident they will be looked after.

We stayed at the Oylum Park, which is not to be confused with the Oylum Hotel, which is the larger of the 2. The Oylum Park is set back from the main road, which is quite nice, as it is quiet if you have children.

whilst this hotel was all inclusive, there were no snacks or ice creams and the drinks were limited to "Magnum Cola" and other own make fizzy drinks, one type of lager, local wine, local raki and vodka. No other spirits were included, nor were fruit juices.

The food consisted of one hot main meal option each meal time, usually either chicken or pork and usually a casserole or stew. There weas a salad option, which was much the same each day. The hotel seemed to think that everyone wanted to live off chips morning, noon and night, as they were served at all meal times (except breakfast). Wednesday and Saturday nights were nice, chicken kebab and BBQ night, other than that, we avoided the meal times at the hotel. The hot meals were rarely piping hot, it was warm, particularly the rice, which was worrying.

Whilst the rooms were clean, the pool area was not cleaned, the area surrounding the beds was sticky from spilt drinks - the tables were also sticky.

The waiting staff and bar staff were really friendly, however, the manager imposed a rule that you had to finish your drink and bring your empty glass to the bar before you could have another one (which made the 11pm cut off difficult). The drinks were expensive after hours and it was cheaper to drink elsewhere. The manager never spoke to english guests and I felt that I had done something to offend him with his behaviour towards the English as a whole.

There was no entertainment and turkish music was often played which no-one else except staff seemed to know.

I would not visit this hotel again, I think it was a bit run down and needs updating and a re-think with their all inclusive policy. I also felt that the management did not like English holidaymakers and I felt that they were just after more money, which defeated the purpose of all inclusive.

Booked a last minute deal with this hotel on an all inclusive deal. the hotel was not to bad but the food was not very good, no choice it was one main meal and if you did not like it too bad. We had to eat out quite alot. Drinks were free if you could get served, they counted how much you were drinking, if they thought you were drinking too much they would ignore you at the bar. Would not return back to this hotel although Iclemer itself was a very nice place

We had a good holiday, but no thanks to the hotel. The food was boring and we ate out a lot!

The breakfast over the road was great and we got to know the staff very well, I think they were happy with this hotel, as they had a lot of business from it(people fed up with hotel food).

The children who are young teenagers were happy during the day because they had the pool to keep them occupied but the evenings were very very dull!

I think we would have had better value for money if we went self catering! The drinks were cheap local rubbish and although it was against the rules we drank our own in the room.

I would love to be given this hotel to manage for a few weeks because what it needs is better management, The Manager does not have a clue. The location is not to bad and it could be a lovely place to stay with a good clean, new sunbeds, a wider variety of food served properly and better drinks or just do room only!

The hotel is in an ideal location in Icmeler yet very quiet at night. It is ideal for the beach and the town centre, market and other bars too and has close links for the Dolmus to Marmaris.

The staff at the hotel are extremely friendly and helpful and the food is lovely too. Nothing is any problem for the staff at the hotel and they are quick to help you if you need anything.

The air conditioning was superb in the rooms which were spacious enough and the cleaning is done daily.

The entertainment at night, especially the Turkish evening is great fun, with the staff always encouraging the guests to take part.

I go there every year and the hotel only gets better as it is nice to meet people from other countries.

This hotel was awful we got there and it was full of foreigners and this hotel was only meant to be for Turkish people and Dutch people not English people and the lady at the travel agent did not tell us about this.

The food was terrible and the chef only gave us English people a bit of food and the rest of the people who was foreigners he gave loads of food too so there plate would be full.

There was no entertainment any day or night and it says daily on the internet and in the brochure and the travel agent lady also said there was entertainment on everyday.

The hotel is rated a 3 star plus in the brochures and internet but really it is a 2 star.

I also got threatened off one of the foreigners he said that he was going to chop my head off which then I reported this straight away and nothing was done about it.

I would not recommend this hotel to any British people as you will not make any friends or have anybody to talk to you will just be bored all of your holiday. So I will rate this hotel 1 out of 10 it was terrible and I will never go here again.

The rooms were cleaned daily with free air conditioning that actually worked. The pool and bar area was kept clean with plenty of choice on the all inclusive tariff.

I particularly liked the area beside the pool which was decked and covered with scatter cushions like a bedouin tent. The staff were extremely friendly and tried their best to mingle with the guests and make everyone welcome. The food is basically Turkish but goo Turkish and there is always enough of a choice to find something that you like even if you are a fussy eater.

I cannot understand the comments of the previous report regarding food and foreigners because if what they want is english food it is available close-by for very little money and if you don,t want to mix with people of other cultures and countries go to Skegness.

Since my first visit I have been back to the Oylum and it has been re-furbished with new wet rooms and power showers and the bar area completely re-vamped. This winter they are adding a fitness suite and sauna.

It is undoubtedly the best value for money hotel in Icmeler and I have been visiting this area for 11 years.

There are 14 of us booked for this year already and are eagerly looking forward to it.

It is difficult to find real fault with the hotel Oylum Park. It has 42 rooms, including 30 standard and 12 family rooms. All are of a good size, with large balconies - half with views to the town centre and half with mountain views. It looks as if the hotel has been refurbished, with new doors and other fittings. All rooms have satellite TV (only one English channel) and excellent air conditioning, which was very welcome as the temerature exceeded 40c every day! Bathrooms are good, with hot water most of the time and a good shower.

Rooms are cleaned daily, towels are changed daily and linen three times a week.

There is a large pool area and a shaded garden. The pool is cleaned every day. The pool bar is clean and weel stocked. All-inclusive guests have a limited range of included drinks - basically, draught beer, raki, vodka and gin - and a range of soft drinks and juices. Water is available all day (for all guests) from several water coolers.

The food is OK - mainly Turkish, but good quality Turkish. There is an excellent range of salads every meal. There are chips every meal. There is always rice and couscous. There is doner kebab a couple of times a week, a lot of chicken and many Turkish dishes which I did not recognise at all, but which were good when tried! In any case, there are dozens of restaurants just outside the door, offering meals for next to nothing (English breakfast for £1, for example)

The staff are great, from the maids to the manager.

The hotel is superbly located, about 300 metres from the beach and the same distance to the town centre. Thre are dozens of shops and restaurants within 50 yards, however.

The guests are mainly Dutch, with a smaller number of Swedish, all of whom were very friendy and most of whom spoke good English. There were only two British parties there, including ourselves. This was not a problem at all.

We will definately return to the hotel Oylum Park, perhaps later this year.

My friend and I stayed in Oylum Park for 2 weeks. The hotel is in a very good location, near the centre and beach but very quiet. We had a lovely outlook to the mountains surrounding Icmeler. We really cannot complain about the accommodation. It was basic but room was cleaned every day and towels changed twice a week. Some people complained about the hot water which sometimes was cold but since weather was hot, it didn’t bother us at all.

There was no radio or TV in the room – not a problem for us, we brought our own little stereo system.

The personnel were nice and helpful anthough in the beginning, not realising we had been to Turkey a dozen times before, they tried to assist us in finding shops, Turkish bath etc. which we obviously did not need help with.

The swimming pool was cleaned every day and there was also a garden with sun loungers (with mattresses) so there was always a choice of sitting in the sun or shade.

The breakfast was also good with bread, jams, tomatoes, olives, cucumber, yoghurt, cereal, cheeses, meat, eggs (once a week you get omelettes which were cooked to order as you arrived in dining room – yummy), tea, coffee, fruit drinks.

This was also an AI hotel so you could help yourself to water, fruit drinks all day from dispenser. We didn’t try lunch but had a couple of evening meals – one very good, the other not so good. Would not recommend AI here as it is so cheap and varied to eat out in Icmeler (only £5 at the hotel inc. glass of wine/beer) but some people had HB with another tour operator and they had paid the same price as us for BB.

Clientele were mixed UK and Dutch.

There was also a TV lounge, 24 hr reception, lift. The hotel has 3 floors and 42 rooms, all very similar I believe.

The hotel changed owners just before we arrived so unfortunately Sunset’s contract did not continue after mid June. I hope they have renegotiated as it is a nice budget hotel in a very good location and I would definitely go back there.
