| said: As suggested above the hotel attracts predominantly Germans and Dutch. I have no problem with that except that they seem not to interact with the staff and then the staff seem disinterested in ANY guest. It took almost the whole two weeks before we could get any life out of them. I prefer smaller places with more of a family feel. It's a shame because Turks must be some of the most hospitable people on the planet.
Gripes.
1 When on half board I resent being asked for two Euro for a crappy cup of machine made coffee after dinner.
2 It seems reasonable for the A/C not to work when the door is open but I think that providing the room is occupied (and the doors shut) the A/C should be available. It was really hot over the end of June and the bedroom was dreadful. Our A/C barely worked until we complained and they got a man out to fix it. That improved it but it still was not wonderful.
3 I don't like the charge card system. We didn't use it and bought all our drinks away from the hotel. There was no price list visible anyway and I shudder to think what they might have charged for a few drinks if the crappy coffee was two euro a cup.

| said: Our Holiday Opinion:
The hotel is situated off the Celal Bayar Boulevard behind the shops in a cluster of fire trees about 3km from Side centre. The beech is only accessible by walking through the nearby Arum Hotel or by courtesy bus that runs from the hotel a couple times a day.
The hotel is quite impressive with its marble floors and large reception.
Our bedroom was a decent size with bathroom and balcony overlooking the rear of the hotel “Not a good view but quiet and cool in the late afternoon and evenings”. Two BBC TV channels are available on the tv, BBC World News and another showing things like EastEnders. The bath had an amazing shower plenty of hot water in the morning. The maids changed the bedding, towels and cleaned the bathroom every day. We thought the hotel was very well kept and our room cleaner was lovely, she had scattered petals on the bed and made swans out of the towels on our bed a couple of times during our stay. She was so good to us all through our holiday although she could not speak English. The other bar and restaurant staff were very friendly and helpful even though most could not speak English. The only staff that rated a minus were the reception staff who were in general dour and the management who remained aloof from the guests rarely speaking or smiling but giving the workers a hard time.
(for this reason only the hotel was marked down by one point for staff)
The pool area is really beautiful and is very clean. 1 large adult pool that is about 1.5m deep and at a lower level in the grounds, a large children’s pool 1m deep with a helter skelter water slide that worked twice a day with a small baby pool with a mini slide to the side of it. There was no shortage of sun beds.
There was also a child’s play area and an animation team that catered for all ages. Volley ball, tennis, boules and table tennis are available in the grounds and a full size pool table is available by the restaurant. There is a small shop selling cards newspapers and other things near the pool, a hamam and fitness centre is also in the hotel. The pool bar had windows into the adult pool so you could watch people swim by.
The food was very good, a massive buffet selection available for breakfast and dinner. Lunch was €7.0 p.p. for a buffet, consisting of soup, salads, chips, meats, cakes and one drink (soft or alcoholic).
The hotel also offered an all inclusive deal for €12 p.p.day that included buffet lunch, afternoon tea and cakes, soft and alcoholic drinks from the bars.
Be careful the hotel operates a credit card system for those not on A.I. although you have a copy of the waiter’s tab from each order you make, it’s difficult to keep track of the bill when it’s time to settle up at the end of the stay.
There are 2 elevators in the hotel to cater for both wings but you will still need to negotiate some steps to and from the children’s pool area.
The air conditioning only works when the doors to your room are all closed but even then it wasn’t very good and I think anyone who doe not like the heat would find it unbearable mid summer.
Please note that most of the guests are German and Dutch so be prepared not to hear a lot of English. That was fine by us but wouldn't suit everyone.
