| said: We were a bit alarmed at some of the reviews we had read about this place and regretted booking it, however, within the first 24 hours we realised that some people wouldn't be happy wherever they went. We only seem to want to point out the bad things. So I'm taking this opportunity to redress the balance.
As with every other review the room was absolutely spotless, it was one of the biggest we've stayed in, yes the furniture is a bit out dated but nevertheless it was tidy and there was plenty of space for clothes etc.
Again we were worried about the reports on the food, it was always well cooked, choice is limited, some days the lunch options were better than the evening meal, but they do their best to cater for a lot of people at one time. We always managed to find something to suit us. None of us were ill at any time during the 10 days. The restaurant gets very busy and unfortunately there are some nationalities who don't know what a queue is for, just behave the same way.
The waiters are brilliant, Mustafa just couldn't do enough for us, despite being run off his feet. Reports suggested that they weren't helpful, we found that if you treat them with respect then you get it back.
Although there was no scramble to get a sunbed - the pool guys always put a towel out for us, even though we didn't ask them, we didn't give them a tip until the very last day.
The hotel location is a bit isolated if you want alot to do, there are a few small shops around and about, a taxi to Naama Bay cost £5 each way, it's around 15 miles so well worth it. haggle for the best price.
The animation team try their best during the day and at night. They are a bunch of people who try to get people involved. You can take it or leave it. The only irrating people are the ones from the beauty place who think all we want to do is get our hair braided, have massages and manicures, they seem a bit hard faced, it was difficult staying nice to them.
The pools are big, the only disappointing thing was that they were absolutely freezing cold, which was a bit surprising as the weather was brilliant. Mano the Aqua instructor told us he kept the exercises short as he knew the water was too cold. You just couldn't enjoy a decent swim. The water park is okay some of it was out of bounds, and it seemed to shut down around 4.00 without much warning.

| said: We stayed at the Park Inn (renamed)on an all inclusive basis with a family of 5 in two rooms in July. Here are the facts on a basis of you get what you pay for & we got a really good deal as we booked really early, got a free child & had our flight changed with a good discount. With all this taken into consideration the holiday was excellent value for money. We looked into the possibility of booking again next for year, but as it was going to cost over £1500 more, decided whilst it was a good hotel it was not that good.
FOOD: The breakfasts were very good with freshly cooked pancakes, fried eggs, omlettes every day along with the usual cereal, fruit, toast, yoghurt & lots of weird conncoctions of which i didnt try as im a fussy eater, but enough people enjoyed.
Mid morning & afternoon snacks consisted of burgers, sandwiches, chips & cakes which i didnt really bother with but the kids were well satisfied.
The lunchtime buffet was nice with the usual fayre of buffet style food, soups, puddings, & a main course. The Maryland chicken & the Pizza were really good.
The Evening meals were about the same as the lunchtime apart from the main dish being either a roast or somthing cooked outside on the barbecue, & the puddings wernt as nice.
The restaurant was nowhere near as canteen style as other people have made out & was quite pleasant, but like anywhere else it did get a bit monotonous & we all got a bit fed up with the food (except the wife who eats anything so always had plenty of chioce)
DRINKS: The beer was quite nice when cold, wich was in the Panorama Bar, the restaurants & the pool bars. It was served draught here. in the Bedouin tent & the waterpark bar it was served straight from the bottle & was usually warm. The glasses at the pool bars were plastic which was fine if they didnt look about 5 years old & well worn. They did seem to get a only quick swill under the taps when washed which was quite a bit off putting, but try to keep the same one all day. The wine was a lot better than others have said & even the "Johnnie Warner black label & the Gordoons gin were ok if you had them with a mixer. The soft drinks around the pool were all proper pepsi, diet pepsi etc & served in through away paper cups, better for the kids than those scratched glases. The cocktails were ok even if the different bartenders made the same cocktails differently. Note: Dont know if the drinks are watered down or just weaker but we didnt get drunk all holiday & we drank enough.
HOTEL: The hotel was really nicely set out, all very clean, with large clean rooms, with towelling changed as per your request. The pools were nice & big & mostly clean, bit it was a bit grimy at ties around the swim up bar.The waterpark was really good with a great wave pool & some wickedly fast slides. It is spread over a large area with loads of sun shades but no where near enough sun beds. In general there were not enough sunbeds in the whole hotel, but we always managed to source at least one & pick up another one or two later on.
The entertainment in the Bedouin Tent was on every night, repeated every week. The usual kids stuff for about 45 mins which all the girls love dancing to okee cokee, birdy song etc, then an hour of entertainment for adults whidch was always poor, sometimes so poor that is was good if you get my drift. The animation team did try really hard though.
The beer in the tent was always warm & they alwaya ran out of glasses so you would end up with it in a paper pepsi cup, poured out the bottle at full froth so was always half full. This i know sounds awful, but its amazing what you get used to. Just go back & refill as the queues were never more than a minute. Always good to leave after the entertainment though for a cold beer at the Panorama bar.
Never had an issue with the mossies supposed to be in the tent & only got about ten bites between allof us all holiday.
BEACH: Less than 10 minutes walk through the Radisson, pleasant walk or catch the hotel bus which runs constantly. The beach was never crowded with plenty pf beds. The beach looks vey nice from a distance but not very sandy. Didnt matter as the main purpose of the beach is for the snorkelling. The jump of the steps at the end or the pier is amazing once you put your head underwater. The fish & the reef is totally amazing & is really what made the holiday different from anything we have been on before. The sea does look pretty rough & we were quite apprehensive with the kids as it is about 30ft deep, but once you are in there is no problem. My wife swore see would never snorkel with all those fish but after we persuaded her we couldnt keep her out. And beleive me there are hundreds of dfferent varities, MAGICAL.
The Beach Bar was also all inclusive & there was free ice cream, which you had to pay for in the hotel.
All in all a good hotel with a few minor issues which was more 3star than 4star which as stated earlier, unless you are one that trys to find fault & moan you will get on with it & have a really good hoilday as we did.
PS - I was the only one who got a bit of the PHAROAHS REVENGE. I mentioned it to the barman at breakfast & he gave me two cups of mint tea, no milk or sugar & that was me cured.
With regards to tipping, we felt no pressure to tip, but did so now & then to staff who we thought deserved it.

The hotel and its staff were of the highest callibre, what really let the hotel down was the awfull food, I have never had food as bad as this in any hotel I have ever stayed in.
This would make a great B&B hotel but a complete waste of time going AI .

The chilled drinks machines ony worked accasionally
so when the ice ran out it was warm pop or nothing.Water was not available to buy at the beach bar for the whole two weeks we were there. One day the beach bar could only provide dry batches and chips for lunch and free ice cream for the kids is only available at the beach and not on the complex.Beach bus is not always reliable.
£4.00 for pool table for half an hour and about the same for the internet. If you stay for two weeks take note of the quiz questions on the first week and you will win it the second week,as we did.
If you have any health issues ask the pharmcist for advice before calling a doctor.
We have already booked to go back to Sharm next year but will not be staying at this hotel ever again.

| said: Have just returned from unfortunatley only a week in Sharm el Sheik... my goodness what a holiday, we arrived the first night to a very hospitible welcome, with a drink of orange juice which was well needed!
Tipping is a must here and you will need to tip the bell boys, the man who puts ur cases on te coach, the waiters, the housekeeper etc! Nightmare but they wait on you hand and foot afterwards, well worth a pound or two! They appreciate everything, apparently living on only £30 a MONTH!
Anyway the rooms are fantstic, very very spacious and spotlessly clean!
The pool area is fab, towels are issued daily using towel cards to trade in for clean towels, the water is from machines around the pool, in the bars and the restaurant. It's best to buy a bottle and then fill it up for free from the machines for the rest of your holiday.
The rooms are serviced daily and they may leave you a little design on your bed, made from towels and petals!
The entertainment is a bit rubbish and only lasts until 10-10.30pm, but the taxis are dirt cheap into Naama Bay, where its lively and up to date with a little culture.
The daytime entertainment is forever going on with water aerobics, yoga, darts etc.
The food has some improvement but is certainly edible, the themed nights are good but are very similar to each other.
The pasta station, omelette station and pizza station are great and my boyfriend ate this almost all holiday.
We both did have upset stomachs but this could have been through sun, alcohol, rich food etc. Snorkelling is located on the beach, through the Radisson SAS, I had a go but was too scared, looked amazing though.
Excursions we went on were; Boudoiun Experience; Amazing experience would recommend it to anyone, scary at first but then was a once in a lifetime feeling. Camel riding a must! Quad Biking; overrated, lasted about 20 minutes after a 1 1/2 hr minibus journey! Bar Crawl; really good to find your feet, did this on the first night, had a laugh and werent back too late either!
All I can say is take a high factor suncream (you will burn, sun is 10 times as strong as anywhere I have been),your snorkels, swimming clothes, and you'll be well away! Enjoy!

| said: Had great holiday in Golden Resort (Park Inn). Hotel excellent although location not great its only 25 minute drive to Namma Bay in taxi and taxi fare is cheap. Namma bay hive of activity plenty of shops bars etc and Hard Rock Cafe, KFC and McDonalds. Food was a one week menu so it was repeated the second week. Plenty of choice for all meals even for the most fussy of eaters. Waiters in restaurant and bars very pleasant (especially Mohamad Saad and Tarek)Ask Mohamad to make a 'Whatever' cocktail (very potent). Across the road is the SAS Raddison which leads to the beach. The snorkelling amazing and the fish amazing. Pool area very pleasant and clean towels for the pool every day so you dont need to bring your towels with you on holiday. Travelled to Cairo to Pyramids, Museum etc. Booked the trip with Sini Tours £40 each which included entrance to Museum and lunch on a boat on the Nile. The journey was long around 6 hours on a coach with a couple of stops but well worth it. The pyramids and museum were amazing. Bring snacks for the journey although there was free water on the coach. Entertainment was not good although the Animation Team did try hard. The pool dance and belly dancing was good craic around the pool. Bova and Pacha were very friendly. would definately recommend Golden Resort and hopefully we will return again. Only downside was the hassle from the Egyptians outside the hotel wanting you to go into their shops.

Our waiter wael was fantastic but moved to another hotel during our 2nd week wich was a shame.
The bedouin evening has now been abandoned as the new bar has opened.
Evening entertainment is poor but your holiday is what you make it and we had a great time.
Dont miss snorkeling fab.
Food is good gets a bit repetitive but what all inc doesnt?
Hotel beautiful but very hot lots of burnt children and adults ouch!

| said: Have just returned from two weeks at the Golden Resort/Park Inn and have had an absolutely fantastic time.
The weather was hot hot hot but after a few days you managed to get used to it. We were upgraded to a select room which was fantastic with a good view of the pool. The room was very spacious and kept extremely clean by our room attendant who was absolutely brilliant.
The food was very good and there was a lot of choice. Danish pastries at breakfast were a must and I have to say the six pounds I gained whilst away was worth it!
All our party did suffer with stomach cramps and upset tummys but I have to say I dont think this was due to the food, probably a lot to do with cold drinks and the very cold air conditioning in the rooms. I had to laugh when we arrived in our room as there was an exceptionally thick duvet on the bed, as the temperature was 37 degrees at 10 pm at night. But the air conditoning was second to none and we would wake up freezing in the night glad of the thick duvet!
Entertainment was not very good but apparently on 2nd August they were opening their new bar and the entertainment was supposed to be improving.
If you want a good sunbed with shade then prepare to get up early. We were going down at 5.30 am every morning to secure one but by the end of the holiday we learnt that if you tipped the towel man he would apparently reserve one for you. There is no need to take beach towels as you are given a towel card and can get towels for the pool every day and even use them if you go out on trips.
I feel we have to give a special mention to Mohamed in the pool bar (Geezer) he is the Arsenal fan and he was always cheerful. Wael was one of our waiters in the restaurant and he was really sweet. Adel in reservations was most helpful as well.
The snorkelling is absolutely fantastic and it is quite reasonable to buy snorkel, masks and flippers at the local shop. Naama Bay was fantastic for shopping and very cheap albeit very hot. We went to Cleo waterpark whilst we were there as the kids were disappointed that the waterpark had not been finished. It was ok but really not that much there but nethertheless they enjoyed it.
All in all we had a fabulous relaxing holiday. The hotel was clean and all the staff were fantastic. In fact we enjoyed it so much we have just booked to go back next July and hopefully by then the water park will have been completed.
A last note. We flew with First Choice from Bristol and I was 3 kgs overweight for which we were charged £21. Needless to say my hubby was not too happy so next year I will have to fore go that extra pair of shoes!

The hotel was always spotless and our rooms were cleaned each morning with clean towels and fresh linen every other day.
The food in the hotel was nice and there was always something we liked. Each night is also themed with one being French and another British etc.
Location fantastic, and to get to the beach you could either walk through the sister hotel over the road or go on the free beach bus. We walked there and caught the bus back. When crossing the road to the Radisson a guard always crosses you safely.
The staff at this hotel were absolutely FANTASTIC, especially those around the pool bars, they all work so hard and are always smiling, joking and laughing and they make a point of knowing your name which was nice.
The entertainment was ok. For what there was it was good but there wasn't much of it although we knew that before we went so we wasn't disappointed as we still had a great time.
We had the best time here and i am actually shopping round for deals to book the same holiday again for next year and we hope to be booked up by the end of this week.

Food was ok, however my husband and 2 children were very ill, probably due to the fact that I stayed away from the duck and they didn't. | said: Well what can we say, we have just returned from one of the best holidays we have ever had! Being well travelled we have stayed in countless Hotels around the World, but feel that Golden Resort really was something special!!
If you want a Hotel that is a good all rounder we would recommend that you stay here. First and foremost we have to mention the staff, they are the most friendly, polite and happy people you will ever meet.
Everyone always greets you with a big smile and enjoy practising their English, which can be very entertaining! The Hotel is immaculate and the pools and gardens are kept beautiful. Don't bother taking beach towels to this Hotel as you are provided with clean ones every day at the Pool and Beach.
Don't be put off by any bad reviews on the food as we are fussy eaters but couldn't fault it. There is lots of choice and we enjoyed everything we ate.
The Chefs are always checking that the food is presentable and hot and no-one we spoke to had had an upset stomach.

| said: Food not very good although for the first time on any foreign holiday not one of our party was ill.
There was not enough choice and presentation was quite poor all four of us had at least one night where we struggled to eat something.
The reception areas ie restaurant and bar area had abosolutely no atmosphere and there was really nowwhere else to go apart from Ricks disco but having visited it once that was that.
Now for the positive points for any negatative points I have raised the staff here more than outweighed any of the negatives they were the friendliest people I have ever encountered in the one hotel, and I have been to Eygpt before and when I go again I will no doubt be dissapointed in any other hotels staff.
The grounds around the pool are lovely. The rooms are spacious and as everywhere is very clean. Would only consider going back because of the staff.
The comments I have read previous to mine are all spot on.

| said: Just returned from two weeks in the Golden Resort in Sharm el Sheikh. The weather was perfect for us fairly hot but with a nice breeze that made it perfect for sun bathing. The staff at the hotel are the friendliest at any hotel we have stayed in. Right from the security guard on the gate who saw us across the road to the sister hotel SAS Radisson, through the cleaning staff, waiters and animation staff. We never saw a miserable face. A special mention to Ramon who kept us laughing all the time.
The food is good with a different themed buffet every night. Tuesday night in the Bedouin Tent is not to be missed, with an excellent BBQ and plenty of other choices. The entertainment in the tent is Egyptian folklore dancing, a whirling dervish (who is amazing) and a belly dancer.
Despite previous reports we found the spirits to be fine.
The rooms are very spacious and comfortable and we had a wonderful view over to Tiran Island.
There are two pools, one heated in winter. The upper pool is where all the animation and sport take place but if you do not want this there is plenty of space around the lower pool but this is the one that is not heated.
There is a spa and beauty shop on site and I had a very good pedicure and manicure at a very reasonable price.
We had a walk every day down to the jetty through the grounds of the sister hotel which takes about ten minutes. The views of the fish from the jetty are fantastic even if you do not want to snorkel you can look straight down into the water and see lots of tropical fish.
There is a bar down at the beach which can be reached by shuttle bus or walking especially for Golden Resort customers and you can get a drink or snack there and get beach towels and sun bath on the beach instead of by the pool.
The only downside is the evening entertainment. It is practically non existent. This may be going to alter as the hotels TV channel started to advertise shows and sketches to be held in Ricks Bar the day before we left. Just be sure to pack playing cards and quiz books!
We really enjoyed the Golden Resort and will definitely be looking at going back in the future.

The food was displayed in silver heated trays, this didn't add any 'wow' factor. This was perhaps to ensure the food was hot and the flies away. None off my party were ill and we tryed to eat everything, we all had ice in drinks every day.
The hotel as with most all inclusives is set miles away from anywear, nowwear to walk too, hotel bus was fine to use for visits to Naama Bay.
Staff were very good and tryed very hard for us (even someone on 24hr's to cross us over the road.
Entertainment was dire! The entertainment team are very poor, lovely people but just no idea what we want.
Sometimes entertainment was advertised but never happened. Kids club - what kids club?
Having said all this we did enjoy the holiday, the hotel is lovely, clean and weather was good, I would return here.
Egypt is not the UK or Spain so you wouldn't expect the same type of holiday.

| said: We stayed at the Golden Resort for 1 week in January 2007, which was fully inclusive. We had never been to Eygpt before, or had a fully inclusive holiday either.
The hotel was superb. Our room was really huge. The bathroom was luxurious and it even had a bidet. The bed was enormous and very comfortable, with good pillows. Good size balcony as well. T-V with satelite.
The male cleaner came in every day, so the room was spotless and the towell displays were very creative.
The food was excellent. No complaints there, especially the deserts. You've got to try the coconut cake, it was lush, in fact it was very moorish, so forget your diets.
Location was 10 mins from the airport. We used to cross the road and walk to the beach, which didn't take long. The beach was really good and the water temp was warm, so it was ideal for swimming. If you snorkle, then you're in for a treat, as the fish swim right up to you (take an underwater camera). The weather was really hot for the time of year, so take your sun cream.
Staff were fabulous and they could not do enough for you and you never got pestered.
The roads were very good and were the longest and straightest that I've ever seen. I used to run twice a day there and the locals would toot and wave. they were most friendly.
We will be going back in May and hopefully to the same place again. So don't forget, Good Food/Wine-Sun-Sand-Sea and whatever else you get.
Don't miss out on a very lovely place.
Keep On Keepin On and enjoy your holiday there.

| said: I have just returned from a weeks relaxing stay at this fantastic hotel.
The weather was spot on, sunshine all day with temperatures hitting 28/29 although by 4.30pm it cools down and the evenings are a bit chilly. We had a huge room which was faultless. security box, mini fridge, full bathroom and large balcony, all kept spotless and clean everyday complete with heart shaped towel displays placed on the bed!!!
Towels for the poolside are provided everyday. The food was also excellent, all buffet style and a large choice so I think you would be able to find something suitable whatever your taste is. Red wine is great and we managed to work our way through the cocktail menu which was all part of the all inclusive deal...must mention Mohamed, the barman at the Lotus bar, he is such a friendly man and will make your drinks as strong or as weak as you require.
Our intention was to have a relaxing week of winter sun and we didnt really venture further than the hotel poolside through the day...Bliss!!
We did make the effort to go snorkling off the jetty which looks a bit steep but is well worth it as the fish you can see are amazing. There is also a health spa on site with gym, sauna, steam room etc (pay extra for sauna/steam room) I had an aroma massaga off the only lady that works there and it was well worth the £24 i paid for 55 minutes, i would highly recommend her.
All the staff are so friendly and we tipped in English pounds which was greatly appreciated but not expected, the Egyptians really like the British people so are happy to help you wether they recieve a tip or not.
We didnt really bother that much with the entertainment so I cant really comment on that although we did visit Ricks disco a couple of times and watching the Russians dance is entertainment enough!!!
On departure day we were told that the all inclusive deal would finish at noon when we had to check out of our room but when we came to check out we were told just to leave our all inclusive bracelet on and enjoy the rest of the facilities until we left which was an added bonus to what was an excellent weeks holiday.

The food was good, plenty of it and topped by lovely cream cakes.
The staff were very helpful, Mohamed and Sayed in the restaurant were very funny and helpful.
The food was diffrent theme every night from English, Italian, Indian and one night was Egyptian night in the ben tent. My husband is quite fussy what he eats but he had no complaints here.
The rooms were cleaned every day, shut your balcony doors about five they clean the plant and a load of smoke comes.
The pools were great and one was heated.
Snack were available between meals but your might be full up with the three main meal times you get ten out of ten.

When it came to the food there was always a great selection and always a different theme so you wasn't eating the same meal twice.
If you are looking for a relaxing holiday the location is ideal as its not in a busy area.
The only let down to the hotel was its lack of entertainment in the evenings as there was next to nothing to do.
The alcohol with the all inclusive was also disgusting. All the spirits tasted the same and was very difficult to drink.
All in all I would visit the golden resort again, we had such a good holiday and it was the hotel and its staff that made it so good.

The staff are so friendly and helpful. The Reception staff are extremely helpful and have a great sense of fun. The food was not repetitive and good.
A Beach Party with international entertainment and bar, a Barbecue in the tent with a dancing troupe was great and a Karaoke was the evening entertainment.
Taxis are cheap from the hotel to Narma Bay and you can book it return and pay on return. The beach is a lovely 10 min. walk through the Raddison Gardens with a bar on the beach or a bus takes you every 10 minutes. The rooms are spotless and the cleaner leaves a lovely towel sculpture with rose petals every day.
The pools are fab and the swim up pool waiter brought us cocktails every morning to our sunbeds. Extremely friendly, great fun and would book again next year.

| said: Hotel rooms/grounds etc were immaculate. Rooms extremly comfortable, grounds well laid out although probably not enough sunbeds/parasols - although I have yet to go to a hotel where there are. This means you have to 'claim' your sunbed/shade before breakfast, which is a real pain, but a necessity.
Food served at main meal times was lovely, although definately not for the person who likes to eat plain boring british food abroad - we don't! Snacks between meals were very limited - good if you don't want to pile the weight on! Drinks weren't so good, vodka doubled up as bathroom cleaner, i am sure, and beer/wine seemed to have a zero per cent alcohol content! I don't go away to get plastered but I do like a couple of drinks during the evening, therefore in hindsight if I ever went all inclusive again, I would buy a bottle of vodka at the airport and carry a mineral water bottle topped up with it in my bag in the evenings. Soft (fizzy) drinks on tap for kids.
Location of hotel is very isolated, although this is quite clearly stated in brouchures.
The staff were all lovely, very curtious and loved children.
The entertainment left a lot to be desired. Really was a down side to holiday. My children are 11 and 15. Lots of younger children there, but hardly any older teenagers, even though it was easter holidays. Perhaps we were just unlucky.
In all a lovely hotel to stay in if, like us, you want to relax and take advantage of diving and snorkeling opportunitis in surrounding area.

| said: Hi, we have just returned from Golden Resort in Nabq. This is our second holiday to Sharm el Sheikh in 6 months. We so loved our two week stay in September last year we had to return, albeit to a different hotel, and once again had the time of our lives.
We had a Superior Room (No. 7401) which was on the top floor. It was spotlessly clean and well maintained every day by our "Male Maid". He would come back to the room at 6.30 pm to see if we needed any extra towels, water, tea, coffee or toiletries. We also had fruit in the room most days and there were complimentary slippers and bathrobes for us. Overall, the accommodation was first class.
The food in the restaurant was excellent. We were really spoilt for choice each day. My husband was in seventh heaven because there was Bread and Butter Pudding available for breakfast!! Neither of us had gyppy stomachs this visit thank goodness (our party of 7 were all laid low in September).
All soft drinks and water were on tap and you just helped yourself, the beer and wine were served to you by the staff.
If you want a beach holiday this may not be the hotel for you. The sister Radisson SAS hotel is situated on the beach and it takes about 10-15 minutes to cross the road and walk through the grounds down to the beach. Wheelchair access is virtually non existent in both hotels. The Golden Resort lays on a coach to take guests to and from the beach every 5-10 minutes though. We did the trip once, but our main aim this holiday was to laze around and chill out, which is exactly what we did, and the temperature was consistenly in the 40s.
The grounds in both hotels are immaculate. However, beware the shop keepers in the Bazaar at the SAS, they grab you the minute you walk by and this is rather off putting. If they only left you to browse they would make more sales.
The staff were fantastic and couldn't do enough for us. OK they probably had their eyes on a nice tip at the end of our stay, and you cannot blame them when you read in the hotel brochure that they earn 30p English an hour. Everyone of them had come from either Cairo or Alexandria to find work to support their families back home.
The entertainment - well let's just say they tried. The singer in the Panorama Bar was diabolical. We couldn't understand a word he sang and the tunes were a bit hit and miss, but for comic value he was first class. The Animation Team came round the pools 2 - 3 times a day trying to drum up enthusiasm for water gym, darts etc. but a simple no and they went off quite happy.
The Bedouin Tent was pretty good. They held a Folklore Evening once a week with whirling dervishes and what looked like Ninja warriors, but we kept missing the belly dancer.
All in all we had a wonderful holiday, the people are friendly and welcoming, the hotel and grounds are clean and tidy and food and drink plentiful and varied.
There is a lot of building working going on in Nabq - we were not bothered by noise though - and the hotel is on the flight path from the airport, but the noise is not too intrusive. We will definitely come to the Golden Resort again, but feel that in 5-10 years the whole atmosphere of the resort will change and be over commercialised.
If you are thinking of an Egytian holiday book now before it is spoilt and resembles Benidorm or Southend.

The staff were very attentive but not intrusive and had the time to chat. The food was of a constant quality always appearing fresh even at the very end of the meal time 2230hrs in the evening.
The snacks were a little limited but the breakfast in the morning kept even the hungeriest full so that mid morning snacks were for those who missed breakfast.
Entertainment was also limited but the guests who were there were mostly mature in age [including ourselves] and could always find ways to amuse ourselves. would I go back? Most definitely but I will probably try another hotel in Taba just so that I have something to measure it by.

I think standards have gone down also since he left. The big manager Daniel walks around strutting and we just did not feel they were approachable.
The staff seem not so happy either and the money spinning ideas have now come out. I know one man does not make a resort but Yasser did.
We will try and find out where he is manager and follow him we think. We still had a nice time though....

| said: Nice clean hotel, lots of british clientelle. Bedrooms large, tidied/cleaned daily by male cleaners who leave brilliant towel sculptures.
The food was nice kept warm by individual heated containers, special themed nights provide good variety of dishes whist also providing the basic AI tucker. Breakfast, lunch & dinner chefs are in dining rooms cooking to order eg omelettes, slicing roast beef. (Men have to long trousers for dinner-which was not in the brochure).
Hotel grounds are beatiful, gardens, water features etc. swimming pools nice & clean loads of sunbeds any time of day plus free towels, pool games during the day but not much entertainment at night.
Location feels quite isolated outside hotel on very quite dual carriage way which is semi finished but with little or no lighting. It is unadvisable for females to walk along this road at night or even couples, please use taxi or go in groups.
Entry to the sea is via jetty the snorkelling is brill but feel I must inform that the sea is surprisingly choppy which is a definite problem for children, weak swimmers and amateur snorkellers. Hotel has beach bar for drinks and snacks also loads of free sunbeds and towels. Trips out on boats provide excellant snorkelling opportunies in calm turquoise reefs-perfect!. Good trip- Quads in the desert, cost £7 each booked with Hani(office at Radisson).
Must add comment about First Choice rep JB (John Baxter) what a star nicest rep I've met. Only down side of travelling to Eygpt in oct has got to be the sun sets at about 5pm and can get quite nippy with the constant breeze.

The rooms where a nice size beds comfy sheets and towels when left on floor were changed for new ones
cleaning staff all males great at makeing birds and stuff with the towels.
Two pools for adults clean and well kept all the grounds were very well kept at the back of the hotel.
Where the few shops are there was a childrens play area with loadsa stone and wooden scultures of animals
and when ya round the back have a look at the top of the pilon thats there be very surprised to see a
huge eagle of some type.
Getting to the beach can be fun if you take the
complimentry bus the drivers are crazy singing and stuff and before you know it your joining in it takes longer to get on the bus than it does to walk there, lol but if you cant be bothered.
Buses leave approx every 5 mins(walking down is worth a go as you walk through the SAS Radison Gardens are better than the Golden resort only as they are more mature
very tranquil down at the beach bar that serves food between 10.30/11 o clock and again after 3 till about 6
mainly snacks but they all are a good laugh.
Walking on the coral is a big no no the staff try and tell all visitors not to walk but some either dont understand or just ignore them.
The beach is vey sandy careful late afternoon the sand is red hot there is alittle bay where you can snorkle and swim evan though the water is not very deep there is a variety of fish you can see from the side but evan better when ya snorkellling.
The staff will cover you if you fall asleep so you do not get burnt...there is a pier that you can walk along to swim can get busy with everyone wanting to swim and snorkle.
The entertainment is a bit cheesy...nights in the bedawin tent can be good ..try going to fantasia for a night out (not Disney world but well worth a go).
Taxis are fun and scary get a limo bit more money
but very comfortable. Limo is a new car most taxis are old Peugeot 504 very bumpy as is the windows open
got loadsa pics of hotel and round by the beach
we enjoyed ourselves so much was going again this year.

We arrived at Golden Resort and the staff could not do enough for you.
They escort you to your room, then within 5 minutes a bell boy is there with all your suitcases.
The room was immaculate, and cleaned everyday (inc bedsheets). Towels were changed everyday and they would even make us love hearts out of towels and lay them on our beds.
Towels were also provided for us at the Pool and Beach, we always managed to get a sunbed - No matter what time of day it was.
Food was great - Allday. At breakfast there was everything you could imagine, and also a chef cooking you an omelette of your choice.
Throughout the day you get chance to have a snack of Rolls and chips etc.
The evening meal was a different theme everynight, i.e: Arabian, Italian, Mexican etc. Our favourite was Tuesdays - they would move everything from the restaurant into the Boudouin Tent (Entertainment Area) for us all to enjoy the egyptian food, Kebabs, Pitta Breads. They'd also have a camel there doing rides for you.
We couldnt praise the staff enough, they were all so friendly and loved the English - They all had a good sense of humour also.
Entertainment throughout the day was Darts, WaterGym, Water Polo etc, we found the evening to be very limited. Although we were happy to have a drink at the pool bars, then finish our night in the panaramo bar.
Or if you fancied going to Naama Bay there was a bus every 2 hours.
The beach was also lovely and the snorkelling is amazing.
We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone, we will definately be going back to Sharm El Sheikh but in about 5 years time when the whole resort is completed, as it is still only in the early stages of development.

We did feel a little isolated as it was a 10-15 min taxi ride to the nearest town of Naama Bay so, as we were staying for a fourtnight, we decided to spend a few days in Cairo (well worth a visit).
The rooms were cleaned every day to a high standard.
The hotel is only about 20 mins from the airport so we could hear planes flying overhead quite frequently, but this did not bother us at all.
The sister hotel to the 'Golden Resort' is just accross the road where you can use all the facilities (and this hotel is on the beach).
All in all if you are after a chill out and a relaxing time its well worth a visit.
