| said: This place is unbelievable, the safety standards are scary, bedroom shutters nailed shut so god forbid there was a fire at the front of the apartment. The mattresses on the bed were a little worn out and stained. Breakfast was the best meal but you could find leftovers of that in the evening meal the canteen and food at best was poor. Some staff were ok but one in particular was very rude and intimidating and they seemed very short staffed. Entertainment was zero except for a couple of kareoke nights. I would never go back again.

| said: We arrived at 11.30 pm so couldnt really see anything of hotel. After checking in we were just glad to get to bed, but what a suprise met us.
We had 2 single beds in the bedroom, which were used by me and my 15 yr old son, and the "sofa bed" in lounge was a joke. It was as big as a single bed and we had 2 sleep a 9yr old and a 5 yr old on it.
Better was to come, we were only provided with 2 towels which stunk and no bedding for the sofa bed. By this time i couldnt find a member of staff so the kids slept in their clothes.
We did get a couple of sheets the day after, but still no towels.
Breakfast was just about edible, but thats if you like squid, fish fingers or turkey dinosaurs for brekkie. Lunch and Dinner were disgusting. We watched several times staff putting out salds and deserts for the evening meal at 4pm, not refridgerated, but yet eve meal was only opern at 7.30pm.
Dining room was dirty, had to fight for plates and cutlery, kitchen area was absolutely filthy.
Needless to say we ate out every day at a considerable cost. DAY 3. Our lock on patio door broke at 9pm. I asked Andreas to fix it, he said I would have to wait till the next day. NOT acceptable when youve got 3 kids with you. He finaly gave us another room.
We trudges our luggage accross the complex, up the steep rickety steps and lo and behold the door was broken on this one too!!!!!! Another room, another trudge with cases (Now 10.30pm) Finaly a room that locked.
Woke up next morning to ants running all over work tops and floors. Back to square 1 no towels!.
To top it off bath had sharp metal sticking up, so had to fold one of out towels and put it in bath to stand on when showering.
Towels werent washed, only re-dried every other day causing them to stink. Never got clean bed linen whilst there.
Staff very rude and arrogant, apart from Martin who saved our sanity.
The bar at night was a joke. 1 member of staff seving, so in order to take up the all inc offer you literally had to get a drink, re join queue and drink it whilst in line as you were given 1 glass which you had to get re-filled, and they never washed them between drinks.
THE GOOD BITS
Met some fab people in the hotel, if i hadnt i would definately have come home early, but thanks to them all at least part of my holiday was enjoyable.
THE POOL WAS THE BEST BIT, thank god for small mercies.
Spent over 200 Euros in all just on Evening meals for me and the kids, as did lots of other people, as we all met up almost every evening and went to MUSTANG SALLYS.
Thank god for Mustangs, we had fab food served by fab pleasent staff!!!!!!!!
WOULD I GO BACK?
NO NO NO or maybee yes if its to witness its demolition.........
I didnt expect 4*. I knew it was a 2/3* when i booked, but i still expecte to have a room that was habitable and food that was edible, i got neither........
Roll on Tenerife.......

The bed linen smelt and even the towels smelt like they hadnt been washed. Our bath was all rusty with flaking bits of enamel, unable to bath my 1year old in fear of her cutting herself or catching something, not to mention the thick pink grime that was all over the shower curtain!!!
We also had no hot water in the morning!! Just to make our holiday a little bit more special there were hundreds of ants all over the work surface in the morning, all over my babys bottles and dummies!! There wasnt even a kettle so I could sterilise them after!! We went all inclusive but the food was very basic and poor, they didnt even have any high chairs and you were expected to clean away your own table when you had finished! We will definatly never be returning to this hotel again.

| said: Having booked this hotel BEFORE reading the reviews I was very sceptical about what I would find.
I would agree that the structre of the hotel is very poor and in desperate need of attention. The 1st room allocated was sparsley furnished, the toilet would not flush and the safe would not work. A request to change rooms was acted upon immediately the next morning and was of a much better standard although not particularly clean (false nail under bed along with rolls of dust).
The meals were edible but would definately not win any awards and became rather repetitive as the week went on.
The all inclusive drinks were of much better than expected quality with the use of Branded (Coca cola) soft drinks and a reasonable local beer. There were no restrictions to the number of drinks allowed but the times were restricted to 10:00 am to 10:00 pm. The service at the bar at night was a little slow and the supplied glasses very small.
The entertainment was very poor and did not usually start until after 10pm. The general area is very run down with 'new' buildings' started years ago but not completed or vast tracts of wasteland. There is a pleasant 3Km walk along the sea front to Caleta De Fuste but is not lit a night, taxis are speedy and cheap though.
The staff at the hotel were very attentive and spoke very good English. It is a pity that what they were working with did not match their enthusiasm. For the price we paid it was not too bad and although this does not seem to be a very good review, I would go back but not for more than a week.

Hotel condition was in a very delapidated state everywhere you look shows signs of neglect. Stairs to the upper level were in need of attention the steps rickety and felt unsafe.
Rust was all too evident on the structure housing the steps.
The furniture was of a poor quality and much of it was broken. Beds were very poor, matresses were hard and most uncomfortable staining was apparent and there were no matress covers.
Hygeine was not at the top of this hotels list nor was the comfort of the guests. Cleaning of the appartment was down to a quick sweep through and a mop over the floors. Towels were not changed daily nor were the beds. Towels were not clean and stunk. I witnessed a cleaner recycling a batch of towels she had collected from other rooms through a tumble dryer without washing them and then redistributing them back to other appartments.
We experienced a little rain which led to defects in electical problems a leaks in the fabric of the hotel.
Hotel food was of a very poor standard a Greasy Spoon cafe would have been ashamed to serve it.
For the most part it was below a reasonable temperature or cold, soups were guess the flavour. Cutlery and plates were still wet, insuficient cups and few saucers was the norm.
For self caterers the position was far worse having paid for the holiday they were confronted with hire charges for kettle, toaster, oven the list goes on. The cost to hire plus deposits could have amounted to several hundred Euro.
The location of the hotel was not near a beach it was completely surrounded by building work or barren ground. A short taxi ride or bus to the nearby town of Caletta da Fuste was essential aprox 4Euro at least once a day if one was to eat satisfactorily.
Hotel staff were, other than the recepionist, poorly trained had little idea of what was required of persons employed in the hospitality industry.
There was no entertainment provided by the hotel. There were however some pool tables and a broken dart board in the bar. The hotel advertised a gymnasium, jacuzzi and sauna for use again at extra cost. The equiptment was again in a very delapidated state and the room was uncared for.
Washing machine and tumble dryer were located here for use of residents at 3Euro per machine per load. There is a play area for children, a sandpit with swing, slide, climbing frame and see-saw.
This area little used by children but much used by the hotels cats as a toilet. This being directly outside our appartment led to the constant stink of cats which is most unpleasant. The pool area was again infrequently cleaned and the sunbeds although plentiful were dirty and uncomfortable.
I would not visit this hotel again as to do so would be putting myself and wife at risk.

Ancient furniture in apartments definitely not a 3 star despite the efforts of the staff and a nice pool area in the sun all day. You get what you pay for - but there are better value hotels more like faulty towers! No entertainment except for tv in bar area very dark and lacking in atmosphere. Needs a makeover more staff and it would be much improved.

| said: We stayed at La Piramide on an all inclusive basis. Okay, it wasn't the Waldorf Astoria but the cost reflected this. No-one cleaned our apartment during our stay, but as it was quite a laid back place and we didn't request it perhaps it was our fault. We only used it to sleep anyway as the weather and the pool area were wonderful. The food might not have been the best but only one meal had nothing that I really fancied. Some days it was marvellous. It seemed to be in the middle of nowhere but since we were there for relaxation that suited us just fine. The staff were fantastic - always smiling and ready to help, even though they seemed to be overstretched. They all made a good attempt to speak and even joke in English. Entertainment consisted of music from the pool bar. I loved the taste - a good mix of Spanish and British music. We're already looking up details to return next year!

| said: Just returned from 2 week all inclusive holiday at La Piramide. What a brilliant time and experience we all had.
Martin the bar person is excellent and the place would go to pieces without him. The walk along the sea front path to Caleta is beautiful and must be experienced we did it every day and the time took varied between an hour and 30 Min's depending on the chipmunks.
The hotel is clean and tidy, the rooms are basic but large and functional, the pool area is great, the park area for the children needs attention, there are more bar staff needed as Martin was the only bar person and he worked exceptionally hard from early morning to late evening practically 7 day's a week, the all nclusiive bar ends at 22:00p.m which is to early, but you can purchase drinks at the bar until 24:00p.m.
The cleaning staff were friendly and helpful as was Natalia in the small store, the food was varied and edible.
Overall we had a brillient time as did the majority of the other guests we spoke to.
The lack of entertainment was a minus, but my experinence of resort entertainment has been varied anyway and you get what you pay for.

All rooms had a pool view with all amenities. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful but overworked.
Food was basic but adequate. Ideal for a bargain relaxing no frills holiday but we would recommend a car as it is out of the main resort.

| said: La Pyramide is a very basic hotel set in what can mostly be described as a building site - although we didn't hear much building noise if any. From the research I did before our trip - I understood that this area is still under a lot of development so I wasn't surprised when i saw it.
I found that the hotel staff were sometimes hard to track down - so much to the point, that we were serving ourselves drinks from the bar! However, they were all friendly and obviously overworked but tried their best to meet our requests.
I found the apartments basic but clean. There wasn't a lot of equipment for the self catering option and I think the maid only came in twice during our 1 week stay. However, it had everything we needed and the TV manged to get CNN in English which was good. The rooms are not air conditioned but I didn't find that I really needed it.
The best thing about this hotel has got to be the pool - it was amazing and there were plenty of sun loungers and space to go round. Yes it was a tad cold but not noticable when you got in - I find my local swimming pool cold at first! Plus the glorious sunshine made it all the more worthwhile when you got out. It was clean as was the area around the pool. I actually spent three days by the pool and tanned for the first time ever - the weather really is great there.
I'd read reviews about the mediocre food but I wasn't too horrified by it. In fact, I found all the fish dishes extremely tasty although the selection was limited. However, the contant supply of chips seemed to keep the British guests happy at least. I don't think it was at all that bad, ok it wasn't fine cuisine but it didn't give me food poisoning and was tasty enough.
All in all, I throughly enjoyed my stay at La Pyramide. It was a cheap holiday and obviosuly cheap for a reason. The hotel is basic and the entertainment is non-existent - but I didn't go there for karaoke or rep shows so i wasn't disappointed. If you want a cheap non-fussy break, and are the type of person who is happy to make do with what you've got, then La Pyramide is for you. I could have esily stayed there another week around the pool drinking pink pina coladas, soaking up the sun and reading my book. It was a lovely change from frantic city life.

All inclusive - only till 10pm - unable to get a bottle water or cup of coffee before 11am in morning - shop closed day we arrived!
Location - what can only be desribed as 360 degree building site
Staff - minimal and really not that helpfull - not 24 reception
No entertainment - watching the pool man take hours over getting a few leaves out - about as exciting as it gets.
I would never visit this hotel again - not even if i was given it free!!

| said: One word for this hotel... horrendous... do not go to this hotel under any circumstances if you expect basic food hygeine and basic standards of cleanliness.
We arrived at supper time expecting a hot meal only to be greeted by a stone cold servery of food which was meant to be hot but was not. The same thing at breakfast..
There were 3 staff trying to run the whole hotel with no manager. I asked if the food would be hot at breakfast and was told yes. When we arrived in the dining room at 0730 having eaten nothing for 24 hrs by this time we were greeted with a cold cooked breakfast the likes of which I have never experienced in my life.Aa blind man could have done a better job.
Needless to say as my 6 yr old daughter is my priority I rang the rep and asked to be moved. It cost me an extra 200 euro but it's the best money I ever spent to get out of that hell hole. Do not stay here unless you want to be ill and want to pay extra to get moved as we did.
The rep knew of the problems and when I asked why the company continued to send clients here she could not answer me thus begging the question that it's just another money making exercise by getting you to pay more to change to another hotel.
I am taking legal action to get my money back for the extra I paid to move. We went to the Antigua and wow my god what a difference it made to our holiday.
Very professional in every way. Everthing about this hotel is 5 star and not 3 as it states so if i were you pay the extra in the uk before you go and be happy from the start and don't put yourself or your kids through what us and others did by going to la piramide.
Just so you are aware how bad the problem was at this hotel there were ten others moved on the same day as us making the holiday company in the region of 2000 euro extra. I rest my case. Be afraid be very afraid if you travel to this hotel, you have been warned!!!!

This holiday was great, the food was tasty! And the cleanliness wa perfect, the food was fine considering it was only a 3 star hotel.
Although the location wasn't that good, the hotel will maek it up for you, you have evrything you need there, you have food, entertaiment, bars, gym and other things to keep you satisfied. For children this might not be the ideal place becuse there's only a dart bord and a pool table which isn't that exiting but apart from that its fine.
If you hire a car its fantastic beause you can go visit the town and beaches and the night life, I honestly Suggest go out to play mini golf at night beacuse the scenery is Gorgous!
This holiday was great I loved it and so did my family, I can't believe what other people thought it wasn't good enough, maybe they need to book a 5star, but this done it for me just fine.

| said: Arrived at the hotel around about 5pm first impression wasn't good at all. At first the staff seemed happy to help but there was then a change of staff who were rude and treated the Spanish a lot better than the English (always dealt with before English).
The hotel was clean and tidy on a whole but our room had blood on the floor when we got there and was still there when we left, kitchen facilities were very basic and to improve you had to rent extras i.e. kettle, toaster. The canteen area was tidy but tables were sticky all the time and the food was never hot so they had a microwave to heat up your dinner!!! Some foods were even left on a tray without a heat lamp or anyway of keeping it warm.
There was no entertainment at all they did have a sky in the bar area but it was always Spanish channels on for the staff and Spanish that was staying there. Some of the staff were really nice and a few of them came across as rude and that they didn’t like the English which when you go to a place like that you expect the staff to be nice to you even if they don’t want to be!
We would go back to Fuerteventura but not to that part of the island if you have booked already then see if you can be put in Caleta de Fuste which has got pubs and plenty of entertainment

| said: We have just returned from staying at La Piramide.
The rooms are very clean but with very basic kitchen facilities (worth taking a sharp knife if you intend to cut anything!)
The lounge and bar area are very nice with lots of seating and sky TV but there was no other entertainment and the bar is very basic. There is also a pool and football table and dart board(which wasn't working while we were there) There is also internet access and WIFI.
We didn't go into the restaurant although we didn't hear very good things about it so I can't comment personally.
The on site shop is appalling! very overpriced with hardly anything in it, better to go to the supermarket up the road or the big Spar near Caleta de fuste.
The most disappointing thing about the hotel was the pool which was actually very big and clean but REALLY cold!! not sure if it is always like that but they could invest in some solar heating! The pool area was very clean with lots of plants and flowers.
The staff were very friendly.
Overall we liked the hotel but found the location very poor.
The resort cats are really lovely!

My partner and I arrived there at 2pm and we were shown to our room, there was no sheets on the bed, no s/c utensils so we complained asked for a kettle only to be told you have to pay for it or use a pan to heat up water.
The pool was disgusting big brown mounds in it and leaves in it.
There was workmen doing up the apartments using a compressor and paint spraying. The hotel is on a building site everywhere you look.
It is a 45min walk into Caleta de Fuste or a taxi at 3 euros each way which the hotel only pay once a day for it, and you have got to pay after if you want to go in again.
It is definitely not a 3 star possibly a 1 star. We moved to another hotel after just 1 night and we weren't alone either 4 couples moved the same day. Would never go there again!

If you are lucky enough to get a ground floor apartment you get your own sun beds! However, there were plenty to go around. Excellent large pool and and clean pool area. Surprisingly quiet even though it was early July. Pool bar was a hit and miss affair. It opened regularly but did not offer food as advertised. We were told it was too early in the season, but there appeared to be enough holiday makers there to make a go of it.
Entertainment virtually non-existent, and the apartments are located in a very quiet area. There are a few pubs and bars within walking distance but most seemed closed on a saturday night. I recommend you take a taxi into nearby Caleta de Fueste that only costs under 4 euros and the hotel staff can organise this.
Optional choice of eating at the la pyramide restuarant if you go self-catering for about 9 euros per meal. Food not particularly good though, but there is a shop on site that stocks basic essentials.
Staff very friendly and laid back. Always plenty of cleaners and handy men around. Good for couples, children and families. Look out for the friendly resort cats.

The staff were all very helpful, couldn't do enough for us.
If you're looking for a party holiday and non-stop nightclubs this is not the place for you. If, like us, you just want somewhere to relax and chill out, sunbathe and have a few drinks, this definitely is the place for you.
There wasn't really any form of entertainment when we went but we had a great time non the less. Sebastian was more than happy to entertain us with cocktails and if he didn't have the ingredients for a particular one we wanted he would go to the supermarket and get it. Like I said before, couldn't do enough for us.
The food wasn't anything to shout about but it was hot, fresh and something different every day.
Not only would I visited this hotel again, I am doing this year and I can't wait.
