Only problem was the amount of stairs in the hotel made it difficult for me to get about as much as usual. The views from our room were great, and the food was plentiful and very nice. What made it even better was that the hotel included our drinks with our meals on a self service option.(so saved us a couple of quid)
I personally was very impressed with the hotel and our travel agent for recommending the hotel. We are going back next year.

Well, what a fantastic hotel, the location is 'out of this world'. The Laguna Grand Vista hotel is located on the side of a hill and overlooks what can only be described as a fantastic half moon shaped bay and when the sun goes down you witness a marvellous sunset. We paid an extra 2 euros per night each for a room with a sea view and balcony and it was worth every penny.
The hotel is advertised as half board but for two hours from 1200 each day, sandwiches and cakes are provided free of charge. The hotel is kept immaculate, the rooms are of a good size but the shower/toilet/wash basin room can only be described as 'compact' but of an adequate size, good sized double beds with a double mirrored sliding wardrobe with plenty of hanging and shelf space giving a light, fresh airy feel, sat. television, dressing table, two chairs and an arm chair in each room.
The restaurent is well positioned overlooking the bay and is of a good size serving buffet meals for both breakfast and dinner, they cater for all diets and the restaurent is run on a very professional basis. We found all members of staff trained to a very high standard and eager to make your stay as pleasant as possible.
The hotel is fully air conditioned with individual units in each bedroom. Nicely positioned good size swimming pool again overlooking the bay with free sun loungers. Cocktail lounge serving a variety of drinks/coffee which are very reasonable priced with its own outdoor terrace.
The hotel is located approx 5 KM from Porec which is easily reached by the Noddy trains costing £1.50 per single journey taking approx 20 minutes and runs from around 0900 to 2100.
This complex is made up of about six hotels plus a number of restaurents and taverns, sports centre offering numerious sporting activities on land and on the sea, supermarket and the usual gift shops. The only draw backs we found, but these did not cause us any concerns are that the complex is made up of numerious steps which will hinder the less mobile, the hotel only has one lift serving one area of the hotel and again lots and lots of steps.
There was no evening entertainment in the hotel but adequate entertainment can be found within easy walking distance, actually we found this to be a refreshing change and not having line dancing, childrens discos and bingo etc rammed down your throat which you do in the majority of other hotels, plus we found that the majority of guests did not smoke.
During our stay, out of the 120 rooms in the hotel only six rooms were taken by Thomson guests, the majority of guests were German or Russian but we found them to be very polite and non of the normal problems.
This hotel is not recommended as a family holiday due to the number of steps in and around the hotel plus there is no porterage. Finally out of the seven days we had five excellent sun bathing days with two days being overcast, raining and warm.
We will be returning sooner than later.
