excellent hotel, stayed in the sunsuites royal which are the best out of all three. went in august and there was no need to reserve sunbeds as there were plenty. only the sunsuites royal guests can use the pool in this set of apartments, you can however use any of the other pools in the other two blocks. there are a number of lifts that you have to use to reach the royal but this is no problem. the rooms are air conditioned and are spotless. maid comes in everyday and they even wash up! balcony is huge!!. there is no bath but there is a huge shower. we stayed for two weeks with friends and had an excellent time and would return again. best resturant is san miguels, all 8 of us dined there every night for about 70-80euros, very family friendly staff, there is always a massive q but they will let you book.

All the reviews are true - couldn't have faulted the apartments at all. My only complaint would be people reserving sunbeds first thing then leaving them empty until mid afternoon!

We booked the Terrazamar SunSuites based on recommendations in this forum and others and are happy to say that the complex and apartment more than lived up to the reviews. Arriving mid-evening, our apartment was on the ninth floor in the block nearest to the sea with good views over Puerto Rico and partial sea views. It was neat and clean with blue furnishings and furniture. The bathroom had a big walk-in shower cubicle (no bath) which we preferred and the separate kitchen contained a microwave oven, two-ring electric hob, fridge, electric kettle, toaster and coffee maker. Most impressive of all though was the balcony which is the biggest I have ever seen. According to the info pack in the apartment, the apartments are 85 sq.metres in size of which 45 sq.metres is taken up by the massive balconies so they are actually bigger than the apartments !

For sun-worshippers, the complex is located on the best side of the valley as the sun shone on our balcony from 7.45am to nearly 7pm every day which was great. A welcome afternoon breeze most days helped keep us and the apartment cooler in the high 20's celsius temperatures, though there is also a ceiling fan in the living area and an air-conditioning unit in the bedroom to help if necessary. We found that we didn't need the air-conditioning during our stay but it would have cost €36 a week or €60 for a fortnight if we had. The apartment also had a TV but the channels were very limited with just a couple of English speaking channels (Euronews and CNN news I think). You can pay €15 a week for some extra channels but we didn't bother. Our apartment was cleaned 5 days a week, Thursdays and Sundays being the only days it wasn't. Towels were changed regularly, linen twice in the 12 days we were there.

The complex is just over half a mile from the beach which may be a bit of a trek for those with small children but we hired a car from the airport (I can recommend Autoreisen) for the whole holiday so were able to get around easily and visit all the local resorts and beaches. We also drove up into the mountains a couple of times and did the popular walk up to the Roque Nublo monolith on the 2nd highest mountain in GC. Some of the scenery around there is quite stunning. For parking at the complex we used the car park on the 11th floor opposite the Sunsuite Royal apartments. There is also an underground car park at the Sunsuites for use by guests as well. Each complex (Terrazamar Suites, SunSuites and SunSuites Royal) has it's own swimming pool and there were always lots of spare loungers at all three of them though the Sunsuites pool area was the busiest as it's the largest of the complexes.

The complex is also very well-maintained. I managed to knock a full-length bedroom mirror off the wall and break the glass just minutes before the cleaner turned up. She told me 'no worry', swept up the glass, and indicated that I should phone reception to inform them. An hour later a maintenance man turned up and fitted a new mirror. There didn't even try to charge me for the breakage so very impressed by that too.

My only criticism would be thinness of the apartment walls - neighbours voices and night-time snoring from the apartment next door could be clearly heard. Fortunately, the apartments are built in tiers so each apartment is actually under the balcony of the apartment above them. This helped reduce the noise of footsteps and the scraping of furniture in apartments at night that can sometimes be an issue in other complexes.

Anyone booking the Sunsuites can relax in the knowledge that they will almost certainly like the complex and that it easily lives up to it's official 3 stars grading. We are already planning to return next year because we liked them and Gran Canaria so much. Easily recommended, great value for money and with those huge balconies we wouldn't want to stay anywhere else now.

One of the best holidays we have had! The apartments were excellent and spotlessly cleaned every day except Tues and Sunday. Separate kitchen and separate bedroom, living area with TV and a HUGE balcony equipped with sun loungers (and cushions), table and chairs and umbrella. The balcony had sun from 8.30 in the morning until about 6.00 in the evening. There are three sets of apartments - the Suites at the bottom with yellow umbrellas, the Sunsuites in the middle with blue umbrellas (this is where we stayed on the 9th floor) and the Royal Suites at the top with white umbrellas. Three pools to choose from but we used the pool at the very top - the Royal Suites and had this all to ourselves. A quick way down to the centre (5 mins) is to take the lift down to the reception at Sunsuites, cross the road, take the lift all the way down at the Suites and you will come out at the path to the centre and the beach (15 mins) which is a flat walk. Staff were very friendly. Weather was perfect. Go on a boat trip to Puerto Mogan which was very pretty and is market day on Friday. But book this ferry yourself as the tour reps do it for an extortionate price. Go on the Blue Line ferry - same price as the others (10 euros return) but you get free sangria! We also used the public bus (bus station just down the hill from the apartments) to go see the dunes in Maspalomas and went on the camel tour there. Again this was much cheaper than the tour reps. Most places to eat were very good, particularly San Miguels - excellent value for money and we liked Bubbles opposite, with the Mr Bean lookalike enticing everyone in. The food there was good and the staff were extremely friendly. We had a good deal this year and I will be definitely booking next year if I can get the same sort of deal.

On arrival was put on ground floor apartment wasnt nice swaped to 4th floor 1 which had luvely view locaction was fab loads of bars and clubs very near by.
Food at hotel was sometimes nice the breakfast was not bt night time and pool side cafe was quite nice not much of a selection to choose from though.
Hotel was very clean.
It had computers with internet for children for only 1 euro for 20 mins which is very cheap and come in good use.
Weather was very hot but sometimes not enough air bit closterphobic due to all mountains around.
No rush to get sunbeds theres plenty and sun does not come out til around noon so you can have a lie in alot more relaxing.
Hotel staff most the time friendly.
Entertainment absoultly rubbish nothing on reps not very encouraging to have fun very come day go day.
So we stuck to a irish bars and english bar which was very entertaining so no problem findin entertainment else where.
Would go back again had a good time great weather alot of things to do for adults and children enjoyable for whole family never felt bored even though there was not hotel entertainment you dont really need it.

Having stayed at the Terrazzamar Sun suites, I found the accomodation excellent for our needs. The pool area was good, only problem being if you weren't there early enough you could not guarantee a lounger near to the pool to keep an eye on the children.
What can I say about the entertainment, it was excellent if you went to Sullivans in the sister apartments it was so good that they got my husband up onto the stage, to Old MacDonalds Farm, the animated adult version. Remember Wullie the Ram.
The holiday we had was good, but Laura and Dave made it excellent, with their enthusiasm and energy which was infectious, making us feel included with their family orientated entertainment. Thank you Dave and Laura, you made the Holiday Hope the film is a success

What can I say about the Terreza Mar Sunsuites, other than superb? Accommodation was clean, tidy and well thought out and facilities and equipment excellent. Enough has been said about the balconies.

We did find one cockroach, who was happily playing in our bathroom, but who quickly went for a swim down the toilet.
Pool and area was clean, not enough sun beds, as a lot were broken.
Entertainment was great, although we didn't attend everynight.

Ok, they are set in tiers on the slopes of the valley of Puerto Rico, but we didn’t find them too exhausting to reach.
Situated approximately 5-10 minute walk to Commercial Centre, approx 20 minute walk to PR’s beach, or add on another 20 minute walk to beautiful Amadores beach.
Using recommendations from other visitors, on returning to Sunsuites from CC, we walked along the path towards the Terreza Mar Suites, took their lift up as far as their reception, walked across the road into the Sunsuites easy peasy.

As far as I am concerned, after listening to moans of other visitors staying at other apparthotels, ours were the bee’s knees.

The sunsuites of the Terraza mar apartments has been the best self catering property we’ve stayed in a long time, amazing views out on our balcony, which was probably as big as the apartment.

The balcony had two sunloungers, table and four chairs and a parasol and there was still plenty of room to move about the kids even played football in it.

The apartment as stated before was first class separate kitchen with microwave, twin hob, fridge and ample cupboard space. Bathroom with huge shower cubicle, plenty of towels, cleaned every day except Thursday and Sunday.

Bedroom had two single beds and two double wardrobes and air conditioning costing 36 euros for the week. Main living area, pull out sofa bed,tv,dining table with four chairs and sideboard and a ceiling fan.

The property itself is very clean and very well run, didn,t spend much time in the sunsuites bar and restraint but did in the suites bar and restraint which was called Sullivan’s this was top class people to remember are Geraldine, disco Dave and loveable Laura they entertained us during our holiday and all I can say is well done.

we stayed in this apartments last year, we had the blue umbrellas higher up the hill. excellent location, out the way of the main strip, but not too far for a nice stroll to the strip. hotel was exceptionally clean, pool ALWAYS clean, could easily get a sunbed anytime of day. activities during the day for the kids round the pool water basket ball, polo, races, disco. Hotel bar for food wasnt the best but there was a bit of a choice and they werent very busy. bar was brilliant, very pleasant staff all the time. entertainment was good but a bit sparce, bingo{which we won lol} a comedian, the lollypop woman was hilarious! reception staff were brilliant even at 4 int he morning when we FINALLY arrived, pleasant and helpful. cant fault the staff at all. rooms were HUGE, and the balcony, well you could play footie on them! views were brilliant it was really wuiet 1st thing on a morning and u could watch the delivery vans and people walking about, so peaceful and relaxing. shop was a bit expensive but ok for basic needs. the hotel bar did pizza sarnies etc and they were nice.the only downside i can think of was the hotel let some residents use the facilities the spaniards, and they took over once or twice, but other than that the hotel was in a perfect location, cleaned and very pleasant.a few people complained about cockroaches but in all honesty we didnt see 1 single 1. the people that had them were right next to the bar so i think it could of been the food aspect. would stay there again DEFINATLEY, HIGHLY RECCOMMEND

Really great apartments!

Cleanliness was great - the maids came almost every day to change linen/towels. HUGE balcony with sun loungers - you will not be disappointed here! Lovely big pool with plenty of sun lonugers. Great location, only a short walk to the centre.

We did have a problem with ants in our room but was quickly dealt with by the staff by providing a spray for us.

Our room was very clean and the hotel overall was exceptionally clean with a regular maid service.
The balcony on our apartment was big enough to accommodate 2 sun loungers, a table and 4 chairs, a clothes dryer with plenty of room left over to walk about and enjoy the views.
The large pool was cold but refreshing as the air temperature was in the 90's.
Although there was entertainment every evening, we did not take advantage as we went out every night so cannot comment on the standard of the shows.
It was less than a 10minute walk to the main town which we went to every night and had no need for a taxi.
Reps were not too friendly but the pool bar staff made up for this.
Would definitely visit again.

The hotel was fantastic really nice very clean.
There are a lots of stairs but you do have the avalability of using the lifts. The rooms where cleaned daily clean towels on a daily basis and also the bed sheets where changed regular. You have all facility's such as a TV but you do need to pay 15 Euro's a week to get more channels. There is a fridge a microwave a celing fan and there is also air conditioning that you have to pay for if you desire it. First impression of the apartment we was all very impressed. You also have a massive balcony with 2 sun beds on and also chairs and tables. We would recommend this holiday to couples or familes we stayed in the sun sutes. You do see the occasional cockroach but nothing to worry about. Very Mountainous resort. If you do go have a nice holiday like i previoulsy said you will have a great time.

Well reading all the great reports on various websites this hotel had alot to live up too, and I must say it really did meet expectations.

Arrived at the Sun Suites early hours of the morning, very tired and just wanting to go to bed. Receptionist was very helpful and pointed us in the direction of our room. With suitcases dumped, time for bed and suprisling the single beds were a lot bigger than the standard UK size and they were very comfortable.
Got up after a couple of hours sleep to a lovely apartment, seperate lounge/diner and Kitchen with all the necessaties, fridge/freezer even microwave! And a HUGE balcony, I would say probably about the same size (square foot) as the apartment (well maybe a tiny little bit smaller) Lovely views over Peurto Rico, even had a partial view of the sea! There were 3 Pools within the complex one in the bottom part of the hotel, one on the top floor of the sun suites and the same on the sunsuites royal. I would say the one on at the sunsuites was the nicest, but if you weren't up there at 7 to reserve a sun lounger, you didn't have a chance in hell of getting one. We started using the the pool at the lowest part of the hotel and we never had any trouble getting one no matter what time of day we got there, the pool was slightly smaller (very slightly) and it still got all the sun that the top pool did, the food at this pool was also alot nicer with english people running it, they could at least understand what you wanted!

As for Peurto Rico, to be honest, two girls relaxing all week didn't really see much of it apart from at night, where we had some good nights out. Though a bit tacky (resembles of blackpool) there were alot more bars and clubs than I ever expected here. Can be a little expensive at times if you don't manage to take advantage of the happy hour discounts, but some lovely bars and clubs that are open right up until 7am. (Not that we stayed out that late, honest!! :-)) We also had some lovely meals within the town centre - a steak the size of your plate in one restuarant! A few looky looky men around every night, but to be fair if you kept walking and said no thanks they weren't that much hassle.

I would go back to Peurto Rico again and to the sunsuites, the only downside was on the last day, we booked a transfer with the hotel rep as it wasn't inclusive in our deal, we paid 60 euro's from the airport to the resort the rep only charged 40. But the transfer didn't turn up and the hotel really wasn't that interested in sorting it out for us until we begged them to call the rep (it was early hours of the morning) as neither of us had any cash left and as we paid for it already did not want to get more cash out. Principles and all that! They arranged a taxi for us over an hour and half later and it was a 40 min transfer to the airport. We literally had time to check in and board. As you can imagine a little frustrating in the early hours of the morning, worried about missing my flight and also not being able to take advantage of the duty free!!

We Stayed in the Sunsuites Royal from 9-7-07 for 14 nights.

When we arrived the Reception was very helpfull. The sunsuites Royal are at the very top of the complex which is split in to three the bottom one is the terrazamar, middle terrazamar sunsuites, top terrazamar sunsuites Royal,Our Sunsuite was very nice ,one bedroom Lounge area ,bathroom with shower and Kitchin with kettle,toaster,Microwave/oven ect. As said the balcony is very big with table and chairs and three sun loungers.our bedroom had air condition in it cost 60 Euros for two weeks ,also safety deposit in room 30 euros but you got 15 back.

Two put up beds in lounge area ok but adults may find them not too good.Pools,There are three pools the one we used most is on the roof of the Sunsuites Royal its a queit pool with no music and no bar but very nice never had a problem getting a sun lounger.the other two pools have the entertanment round them and also seemed very good.

Entertainment. Was ok we found that it was very frendly in the bar of the bottom Terraza Mar happy hour 10pm till 11pm and fun and games with Disco Dave and Laura very good (also karaoke)This bar is british owend and all the staff are very frendly.Location,

You are about 10 mins from commercial center and 20 mins from beach you can also walk to the Europa center about 25 mins up hill if you are not too good on your feet maybe not for you.although there are plenty of lifts around the hotel.Overall, Very good accommodation and resort would recommend it

Well what can I say our flights were delayed by 3 hrs didn't arrive till gone early hours, arrived at reception everything sorted out quite quickly.

Apart from we were made to carry 4 suitcases to our rooms and push a pushchair no one to help you.

Hotel was very clean couldn't fault it realy everything wos spotless apart from the ant problem clean linen and fresh towels every day.

The food wasn't that great all my family had upset tummys through out the holiday and constantly on the loo, there wasn't a great deal of choice either.

The hotel location wos terrible we were right at the top and it was a trek and a half to the beach a good 30min walk when you have kids which got realy tiring there was some night life though about a 10 mins walk into the centre.

Staff were ok bit misserable at times my 1 yr old kept escaping thro the apartment door and they didn't do anything about it.

Entertainment was totally awful for the whole 2wks we were there they did proper entertainment for about 4days then after that the travel reps were more bothered about going out and getting drunk in the town.

My kids were totally bored after the 1st wk and to be honest I wouldn't visit this hotel again.

entertainment wasnt as good as the year before but that wasnt throuhg the fault of the reps,
in fact was dissapointed that daz hadnt been made entertainment mananger,as it wiopuld be well deserved,he is truly a star and very funny,

We stayed in the Sunsuites Royal at the top of the complex, the rooms were lovely, well equipped for self catering having a seperate kitchen from the lounge, the bathroom was big with a huge shower and very clean they are cleaned daily as for the balcony the biggest I've ever seen even better is that your not over looked the balcony is very private.

The hotel is only 5 mins walk into the commercial centre which is acsessed via either steps or if you turn left out of the hotel you can take the road.

We stayed in the Sunsuites Royal apartments which are located at the top of the complex.

The rooms are very well equipped for self catering with having a seperate kitchen housing everything you need even a fridge freezer.

The bathroom is also well equipped with a very large shower, the apartments are cleaned daily. With the Royal apartments you have a safe in your room t.v and dvd player with no extra cost.

There is an extra pool on the roof of the Royal apts for soul use of the Royal apts ( without a bar). The reps at the hotel are brilliant especially Stuart and Daz who work so hard to entertain and do a really good job ,there is the usual bingo (of which we had to participate! ) unfortunatley we did not win but we came very come close!.

The commercial centre is only 5 mins away it's looking a little tired but remains very clean. The entertainment in Puerto Rico caters for all ages , from dining, having a drink to dancing the night away!

The beach we only had a short visit to with the intentions of returning later in the week unfortunatly we ran out of time however the beach is lovely. There is also an excellent bus service that runs between the resorts and cheap too!.

A must to visit is the market on Fridays at the port of Morgan it is sooo pretty it's known as 'little Venice'and there's some bargains to be had at the market but don't forget to haggle.

We had such a brilliant holiday that only a couple of hours of returning home we have booked to return in Sept of this year brilliant holiday can't wait to return - bags are packed!!

We booked the Terrazamar Apartments but actually stayed in the sister Sun Suite apartments just above Terrazamar.

The apartment was fantastic for the money we paid. Very clean, well equipped and the biggest terrace/balcony we've ever seen! We usually go to very small apartment blocks without a pool or pool bar because a) usually very noisey b) not bothered about a pool, would rather swim in the sea, but the pool on the 10th floor was actually excellent and we did use it quite a few times.

Couldn't fault accommodation at all.

Stayed in the Terrazamar Sunsuites over Easter 2007.
The hotel is in an excellent location only 5 minutes walk from Puerto Rico's main commercial centre and approximately 15 minutes easy stroll from the harbour / Beach.

The rooms are well equipped with a good kitchenette, separate bedroom & spacious lounge area with sofabed. The hotel was very clean and is only a year or two old. The balconies are huge (10 metres x 10 metres square !) and catch the sun all day long (Each balcony has two sun loungers, a parasol, a table & three chairs as standard. A lot guests don't bother with the pool area & do all of their sunbathing on their own balconies.

The main pool is a very good size but has no shallow end (1.6 metre depth throughout) but there is a small childrens pool which is approximately 0.5 metres deep. There is a set of swings and a climbing frame next to the childrens pool as well.

The hotel tries hard around the pool area with entertainment staff, a Swedish masseur giving outdoor massages, A visiting reptile show once a week and trial scuba diving lessons once a week.

The breakfast buffet (6 Euros for adults & 3 euros for children) was OK but had the same mixture of food on offer every day so we skipped it every other day.
The pool side snack bar was also good value if you didn't fancy a walk down to the commercial centre for lunch.

The evening meals in the hotel restaurant looked OK but we only attended the weekly barbecue (which was excellent value at 12 euros for adults & 6 euros for children, you could go back as many times as you wanted if you wanted to totally stuff yourself) so I can't really comment beyond that.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone and particularly for couples.

Just returned from these apartments with my 13 year old daughter. Very impressed with them, extremely clean, towels changed and rooms cleaned frequently. Lovey apartments with a VERY big balcony! Everything we needed was there, only moan was the size of the cups, they were tiny! Staff OK but not particularly welcoming apart from the young lad on the bar. Pleasant downhill walk to Commercial Centre and a further 10 mis walk to the beach. The sun rises onto the balconies early a.m. and doesn't disappear from them till about 5p.m.! Disappointed with the Panorama Restaurant on the top floor, not much choice for breakfast for the English, mainly seemed to cater for the Scandanavians and Germans, though they did appear to outnumber the English the week we were there. Would definitely return here, highly recommended!!

This hotel is set out in in the most laid back part of Gran Canaria. This hotel is one of the cleanest and entertaining places I have been to and I have been to 12.

When I visited here there was so much to do I and I was only 15 years of age I never wanted to be with my parents because there was so much to do

All the entertainers were fantastic including Andy and Chris but I really do recommend this resort as we have booked again for next year. I met so many people from all over I met 8 from Scotland 1 from Barnsley and about 8 from Cornwall

Very clean, very spacious and very well equipt self catering rooms. Rooms cleaned all but one day (even on the day we put the Do not disturb sign on the door!).

We only ate once in the poolside bar (breakfast) which was very nice and not expensive.

It does seem to be a very family orientated hotel with lots of activities for kids, usually put on by the reps. Entertainment in the bar most nights including a Spanish Elvis impersonator!!!

A HUGE balcony with 2 sunbeds, a table, 4 chairs and a parasol.

Quite a walk from the beach but not too far from the main bar/restaurant complex area.

Overall very good and we would stay there again.

These apartments are the best self catering rooms I have ever stayed in.

We stayed in the suites which is the lower level complex which have ceiling fans. The kitchen was well equipped with everything you need and there was even a bottle of water in the fridge when we arrived. The balconies are huge and are hosed down once a week.

The staff were great but there was not much entertainment as the hotel was only half full. We had one meal in the restaurant which was lovely and the prices here are very reasonable.

The pool area was great with loads of sunbeds and the kids pool is kept seperate which is great when you have small kids.

I would definately stay here again.

Really enjoyed my week at the Terrazamar Sun suites.

The place was just as described in most of the reviews I read before I went.

The reception was spotless with good shop, bar/lounge and bakery and internet access and ATM. The apartment was also spotless, cleaned every day and the balcony huge!! Only eaten in the restaurant once and wasn’t very taken with the quality or value for money but it was decent.

Did prefer Sullivans in the suites across the road. The location was good, we had a 3 year old in a buggy and basically we got the lift down to our reception crossed the road to the Terrazamar suites and got the lift to their ground floor and went out the bottom gate onto a footpath to the shopping centre, it missed out all the steps and was a nice walk.

The staff were all friendly and when I went to hire a fan it was produced there and then. The entertainment during the day seemed to attract a lot of folk, was mainly water polo and volleyball but was popular enough. In the evening most entertainment was by the reps but it was more than adequate, was good for the kids and my boy really enjoyed the kids club. so if you want to know if I would recommend it, put it this way, I have booked 2 weeks at this place next July!!

Just back from a two week stay in the sun suites.

Let's get the negatives out of the way first, no air conditioning in the rooms have to hire a fan which cost 30 euros for the 2 weeks.

Next Puerto Rico is not a very pretty resort and when you first arrive it can be quite off putting looking at the brown/grey hills, though it's only an intial reaction and after a day or two you do start to appreciate the surroundings.

Last negative, we arrived about 2 o'clock and our room wasn`t ready, in fact there was a delay of about an hour and a half before we could get checked in. This seemed to annoy Denise more than me as I was happy enough to sit and have a pint or two till they were ready.

The rooms are basic but do the job, we had a one bedroom apartment which meant our 2 girls got a bed each and we got the fold out sofa bed. Kitchen was nice enough and functional. There was a microwave, kettle, toaster, fridge and a 2 ring hob. There was also plenty of cutlery and plates.

The balconys are massive with 3 sun loungers and a table and some chairs, nice view over Puerto Rico.

Down in the reception area there is a small shop and a bar, have to say all the staff in here were really helpful and friendly.

The pool is on the 10th floor and is big enough, sunbeds are free and we had no trouble getting one though an awful lot of them had one or two broken slats and were a bit uncomfortable and felt like they may break at any minute.

There is a kiddies pool which our 4 year old really enjoyed though it is tiny and this wasn`t helped by some people bringing lilos and inflatables into it. The pool bar is quite expensive though the food is quite good. There is also a kids club and games take place in the pool daily.

All in all we had a wonderful holiday in Puerto Rico at the Terrazamar Sunsuites and would recommend it.

The room was very clean with a HUGE balcony. The room was cleaned everyday except one. We went self catering.

The pool was lovely and clean with loads of sunbeds around it.

We never ate at the restaurant so cannot comment on the food.

They did have entertainment but we were not with kids so have no idea how good it was. We had an excellent holiday and hopefully will be back again.

We did the self catering thing as norm in Gran canaria, so I will pass on the food side off it.

This aparthotel has 3 levels, what I mean by 3 is firstly, you have the TERRAZA MAR SUITES (the lowest complex), then the TERRAZA MAR "SUN" SUITES, then above those, you have the ROYAL SUN SUITE APARTMENTS.

I stayed in the middle one.

The way to miss the steps is, go down in the split lifts (11 floors split by 0-6 then 7-11) then cross the road to the lower block then down their lift, and thats you at the back off the commercial center.

WE FOUND "ALL" the staff very friendly and helpful.

Location, yes very good.

Entertainment : we never really did that in the hotel, so its not right for me to comment on that, but I do know they had it for adult's and kids.

We travelled here with Globespan staying in the suites (bottom apartments).

We thought these apartments were ideal. They were modern with fans on ceilings, HUGE balconys, excellent location if you like to go to the bottom centre as down the lift and out the gate takes you to within 5 mins walk to centre, also not one cockroach all week!!!

The apartment was cleaned every day exept one on our holiday and all the staff we met were very polite.

The food served in the restaurant was top class and we returned there 3 times during our holiday.

The entertainment we seen was good and seemed to be loads on for the kids although we didnt have any children with us so cannot comment.

I would definatly recommend these apartments to anyone and we cannot wait to go back.

We stayed at Terraza Mar Sunsuites for 1 week at the beginning of September on a self catering basis.

We arrived around 1.40pm and had to wait around 20 minutes for our room to be cleaned. (Apparently normal check-in is not until 2pm) Hotel staff apologised and explained that they had difficulty getting in to clean the room as the previous tenants had not left at the designated time of 12noon. (We found this unusual as most hotels that we have stayed at previously have a 10am check out time.)

When we entered the apt, we were pleased with the size and the kitchen looked quite modern. The balcony was big with 2 sun loungers and a table with four chairs. Plenty of storage place in bedroom and shower in bathroom. Cleaners in 5 times /week, but towels only changed every few days, sheets once by them. Laundry room on first floor which was handy, as that's were we were. Our balcony had not been cleaned on our arrival, but we didn't complain as they were trying to accommodate us earlier. Was further swept once during the week, but not washed. Our main disappointment was that there was no air conditioning. The apartment felt warmer than the 40 degree heat outside. We hired a fan for E15 and E15 deposit, and left it on all the time throughout the night. You could pay to watch TV for the week, but we didn't bother as that wasn't what we were there for. Take your own hairdryer as the one in the bathroom was not very good.

Reception had air con though and the wee shops were fine for immediate needs. Most of the staff were very pleasant and helpful.

We mainly ate outwith the hotel, but on a couple of occasions, had a snack at the pool bar. Food edible, but not great. Lots of flies around the seating area of the pool bar, which was really annoying.

At the pool a few times, very busy the first time and couldn't find a sun lounger. We settled for a couple of broken ones without the seat pads! until someone moved on. Pool was fine, and clean enough.

Reps were very good and encouraged and participated in games in the pool. We didn't have young children with us, but I would take my five year old next time and I'm sure he would love the kids club and the reps. We went to 11th floor one night and enjoyed the entertainment that was on. Other nights, we went out with hotel.

Reps sold us tickets for 2 excellent days/nights out. The jeep safari and the medieval night and Millennium night. Great time at both.

Stayed in Terraza Mar Sunsuites (blue parasols) which is a twin hotel to Terraza Mar (yellow parasols) just across the road. Arrived at about 6am. Reception was open all night and check-in was about the swiftest I have ever had. All reception staff speak very good English. The common areas of the hotel have very good decor. It is clean and well presented.

We stayed in a one bed-roomed apartment which was of adequate size. The kitchenette had a toaster, kettle, electric hob and microwave. Complimentary bottle of water in the fridge (necessary in the heat). The balcony is immense and easily accommodated the 2 sun loungers, a parasol, and a table and four chairs. The bathroom had a large shower cubicle. Always kept clean. Not one cockroach seen during the fortnight.

There is nightly entertainment in the restaurant. Geared towards children and families. Happy hour from 8:30 to 9:30 pm. 2 for 1 drinks at very good value. There was a children's club during the day run by the "Airtours group". There is also hotel entertainment poolside during the day.

The reception area has Internet access at 1 Euro per 20 Min's. There are also safety deposit boxes (very secure) beside the reception.

To get to the commercial centre at the bottom of the hill, walk across to Terraza Mar (yellow parasols) and cross reception to the lift. Go down to the ground floor and walk out through the back of the hotel. You will be in the centre within 5 minutes.

Well, I was glad to get home for nice clean feet, the floors where really dirty but on the whole not to bad elsewhere.

We went self catering, however the food we saw being served looked lovely.

Location was exactly as it said in the brochure, we had a child in a pushchair, but have to say it wasn't too much of a problem.

Staff where great, really helpful.

Didn't really go to many of the entertainment events, instead we took advantage of the lovely big terraces and enjoyed a drink on our own.

The pool areas where great although we did encounter a war on the sunbeds, I think they sorted the problem by the end of the holidays as any beds that had towels on them had the towels removed. Very good idea I thought.

On the whole if they cleaned it up a little and put in air conditioning-it was so hot and uncomfortable in the evening-you wouldn't be able to beat it.

When We First Arrived, We All Were Impressed. Our Room Was In The Royal Apartments, Located High Above Puerto Rico. The View Was Amazing.

The Balcony Was Huge And The Room Was Comfortable And Spacious. We Had The Highest Floor In The Hotel And The Only Thing Above Us Was The Pool!

It Was One Lift Down To The Entertainment/pool/restaurant Which We Visited For Breakfast. Two More Lifts To Get To The Ground Floor.

The Reception Area Hosted Internet Access, Safe Room, Mini Shop, Bakery And TV. The Resort Of Puerto Rico Was A Warm, Welcome Atmosphere.

The Centro Commercial Was Only A Short Walk Away, This Is The Perfect Place To Spend Your Holiday. There Are Bars, Restaurants (including Steakhouses, Indians And Chinese) And Many Shops For Souveniers Or Just A Special Buy.

There Is Lots To Offer here, Sports, Souveniers, Ice Cream And Food. There Is A McDonalds Just Past The Commercial Centre And Just Past There Is The Walk To The Beach. Along The Way Was A Mini golf And Many Stalls.

Puerto Rico is a Fantastic Resort And The Only Time We Left The Hotel Was At Night, There is Just So Much To Do There! Highly Recommended!

Terezza Mar Sun Suites are absolutely brilliant packed with a great atmosphere and welcoming staff! An unforgettable experience staying here, and would highly recommend it to all holiday makers looking for a clean well managed complex of well sized apartments!

The only complaint I would make is maybe the reception staff could be more pleasant and availability to sun loungers as we found people claimed them early in the morning so there were often not enough left for when we decided to go to the pool.

We were a bit disappointed by the Terrezamar Sun Suites.

Brochure described them as 4 star but they are definitely 3 star. Room was clean but dated. Lovely, huge balcony with a fab view but it wasn't cleaned the two weeks we were there.

The biggest problem was no air conditioning, we rented two fans but they were rubbish as they just circulated hot air. The entertainment was poor mainly just the reps singing, bingo and kids disco.

The bar closed at 11o'clock but would still serve drinks after that time if you wanted but most people left the bar when the bills were handed out at 11.

The apartments were built on the side of a mountain so only visit this place if you don’t mind lifts and steps (hundreds of steps!).

All the staffs was very friendly. Saying all this we had a good holiday but wouldn’t go back.

Stayed in this resort a couple of time's location ok for the beach about 10-15 min walk... But been so close to the centre you can hear the music and noise on an evening from the balcony..

Staff was nice very freindly. Did'nt go to any entertainment really saw the kid's been entertained round the pool thje staff really tried to get everyone involved, could hear the evening entertainment from balcony late on an evening..

Would recommend this hotel to everyone and go back again soon..

Firstly I would like to say Hi to everyone at the Terraza Mar Sunsuites we had a great stay.

These apartments are very clean as rooms are done every day when we stayed and very spacey (also well equipped with microwave, cooker, cutlery/plates etc), they also have everything you would needs in the hotel Bakers, Pub, Shop, Internet, pool tables etc

We went for 2 weeks but stayed self catering, we used the pool bar for some snacks, food was good but a bit more expensive than the local centre.

The location is great as only 5 minutes from the centre and Puerto Rico water park is just in front of hotel (easy way to centre without stairs go through Terraza mar Suit and get lift to bottom floor where there is a gate leading to path, nice stroll.

Beach is about 10/15 minutes walk but also a nice walk and we have 2 yrs old (she loves the place).

Balcony's are HUGE with sun loungers/parasol and table&chairs, great view over resort and very nice to relax on at night after clubs.

Th pool area has a big pool, then there is a kids pool with swing park which our daughter loved, we spent most days there (but attended some excursions DOLPHINS/PALMITO PARK recommended.

We have booked to return in July 2007 for 2wks, my sister-in-law & her family has also booked for the same time as we gave it such good reports (July here we come, we can't wait)

We have a Toddler (2yrs)and would recommend to any one as our stay was fantastic.

Absolutely brilliant! We Stayed in the sunsuites, balcony is absolutely huge, 4 chairs a table and 4 sunbeds and still sooo much room!

Kitchen was well equiped for self catering, everything you would need to cook execpt an oven. But really for 2 of us there was no point in cooking, we ate out every night, the food was really cheap. Breakfast was E3.50 which is about £2.50 for a full english fried breakfast.

The entertainment for Kids was brilliant, Cris the entertainer was hillarious even for us a young couple. The must see's of the island that we found were:

- Amadores Beach (E2.50 taxi journey) was seriously the nicest beach i have ever been on and i have been to a different country every year for 15 years.

- Palimitos park get the bus its E2.50 and E18 to get in, its a wildlife park with fish, butterflies, reptiles, loads of birds and my personal favourtie the parot show!

- Some sort of cruise we went on the biggest catamaran on the island with a jaccuzzi onboard took us round the island for E45 each. Expensive but a good day out.

We stayed in the Terraza Mar Royal Sunsuites, out of season, and we all had a great time. The apartments are very spacious with a huge balcony. Because we had a Royal apartment, the telly was included in the price of the room, there was also a bottle of wine and a bowl of fruit when we arrived in the apartment.

We were on the 10th floor which is the level with the pool, pool bar and stunning views of the valley. On the 11th floor is the entertainment and the restaurant.

There is a lift to every floor which are kept clean and smelling nice everyday by the cleaning staff. There was no litter lying around and the pool was cleaned every morning by the attendants. We had our beds made everyday, bins emptied, dishes washed, clean towels and floors swept too, sheets were changed once a week.

All the staff are polite and friendly.

Arrived early morning to the terraza mar sun suites and although we had read reviews on the Hotel you don't know what to really expect.

Once we got into our room we were delighted with the standard of accommodation. The kitchen was well equipped and suitable for self catering, but we tended to eat out, apart from making snacks. The living room and bedrooms were clean and spacious. The bathroom more than adequate. The biggest surprise was the size of the balcony , it was massive.

We did eat around the pool during the day, and the food was fine.

The location of the Terraza Mar is about a 5-10 minute walk to the shopping centre and a 10-15 minute walk to the beach, which for ourselves was not a problem. Return Taxi rides at 3 euro , quite reasonable.

The Staff were spot on and very helpful and the entertainment at night was family based which if you have children is very suitable.

The reps try really hard to entertain.I would definitely go back to the Terraza Mar sun suites in the future whether as a couple or a family.

The only complaint I had about the Hotel was we could not keep our room on the day of departure and had to shower and change in the pool shower area. While this is not a big tragedy for ourselves, some guests had young children and this must have been a nightmare for them. But this applied to all that was checking out

We have just come back from the Terreza Mar Sunsuites booked a week before.

The hotel complex, rooms and pool area were extremely clean. The maids came in everyday and we got clean towels each day, changed the beds once in the middle of the week.

Even though people had said the poolside bar for eating was not too good, there were plenty of people eating there each day and we also had a snack on out last day and that was fine.

The location is great only 5 minute walk to the shopping centre and only 15 minute walk to the nearest beach and harbour.

We found all the staff very friendly and the reception staff very helpful.

The entertainment went on all through the day and the reps did a great job.

We would definately go back.

Just returned from Terraza Mar Sunsuites 19/2/06.After reading reviews on here & other sites we were looking forward to our hols, but a bit disappointed.

We were given key on arrival,no mention of how to turn on electricity, card in the slot job! Room was ok,large enough but on floor 1 so a trek to the pool area, but ok for the shopping centre.

Cleaning was a bit dodgy depending on who did it,better some days than others!Sheets got changed once in the 2wks we were there,we had to ask then.Patio never swept at all.

Entertainment was supposed to be at this hotel in the day & evening,Only 1 flamenco show lasting approx 40mins in the two weeks we were there,no sign of anything during the day, very dissappointing indeed.

No need to rush for sunbeds, hardly anyone around the pool.It was supposed to be heated, guess what? No heating! The sister hotel below(Suites)was heated for a few days so went there, only problem was it was all Scandanavians,no English. Infact we felt that the scandanavians seemed to take over this hotel and resort at this time of year.

You can pay for TV,15 Euros a week plus 10 Euros deposit. But be warned if you have kids, after 11pm theres a porn channel, very explicit after 12pm,eyes nearly popped out!!!!!!

Didnt eat at the hotel, food and drink seemed expensive.Went into main shopping center and dined at 'San Miguels' for our evening meal, brilliant food, very friendly staff and amazing prices,£25 for 4 meals and drinks!Very popular, queue forms after 7pm,but goes down quite quickly.Highly recommend it there.

Out and about you were hassled to go into restaurants to eat,to buy watches and sunglasses and reps to get you to go to Anfi,a new resort, they dont tell you its a time share!

Didnt go on any Airtours excursions, hired car from Hertz,no problems there.Recommend a boat trip from Puerto Rico harbour to see the dolphins,to be honest thought it would be a waste of money but couldnt be more wrong. Went to sea for 2 1/2hrs and was amazed, loads of dolphins swimming alongside the boat, even saw a whale and a turtle!Best 50 euros we spent!Sorry dont know name but it had an orange banner and the guy selling was called Kev(British)!

One last thing,if you leave late on,the only place they offer to shower and change is a public room by the pool, not really suitable, not our cup of tea!Hot water if you're lucky!

We stayed in the Sun Suites side of the complex and it was brilliant. Rooms very well kept, cleaned nearly every day.

The holiday in a whole was fab even the kids loved it. the

Pool area on floor 10 was so clean and well organised its unreal.

Puerto Rico is that good we've booked to go next year in march at same place all ready and we've only been back 2 days.

Overall a very good holiday

Went to Terreza Mar Sunsuites late Nov & arrived just after midnight, got room immediately & safety deposit box. The room was lovely & clean, spacious and the patio/garden nice and big, complete with table & loungers.

Hotel staff were good, although the rep (NICK) was useless if you need towels etc see reception, they sorted it out in mins! Stay away from the reps hang out HROCK cos its got crawly's scuttling about!

However slightly off track there, the hotel is fantastic, pools are clean one situated on 11th floor the other across the road in the sister complex. There is also a baby pool for the toddlers across the road and plenty of sun loungers all round. The shopping arcade is no problem to get to just a bout a few mins walk & plenty of cheap but nice resturants mainly on the upper walkway.

To round it up there is plenty to do, nice crazy golf courses & bars a local waterpark but we went on a day trip to Aqualand in Masplomas which was LOADS of fun & just bout 20 euro each!!

Mogan market is also worth a visit if you like to haggle and that is about 20 euro each for a half day trip & boat ride back.

I loved this place & will be going back with my Fiancee soon.

Overall, an excellent holiday at Terrazamar suites(yellow parasols).

Hotel and apartments are spotlessly clean. Apartments are very modern/spacious and even have a ceiling fan in bedroom and living area. Although my wife informs me the hairdryers in bathroom are not very powerful.

Hotel in an excellent location being only 5 minutes walk from water park and europa centre(with all its cheap supermarkets, bars and restaurants), via the gate on floor 1.the beach is a further 10 minute walk, although there are plenty of refreshment outlets on the way!!!!

The food and drink at the poolside bars (Sullivans) is very nice/reasonable, especially with the october specials.all the hotel staff, including sullivans bar and the cockroach killers(cats) are very friendly.

As there was no entertainment during October we had to go over the road to the sun suites (part of the same complex) but we found this very good and family orientated.

We will definitely be returning next year.

This apartment rocked!!! It's fabby!!

You can just walk straight into the centre in about 2 secs (which is great when your stumbling home at night). There's even benches on the way if you feel like a seat! hehe.

Was fab for sunbathing plenty of room either by the pool or on your balcony!!

The food was amazing baked potato's where the best though! and the bingo during tha day was fab, make sure not too miss it!

The hotel staff were funny esp when they tripped over wires.

It was always very clean! On a scale of one to fantastic a would say this hotel was fantastic a love it going back this year too!!

Would recommend it too anyone of any age there's so much too do for everyone as we travelled in a big group of all ages and everyone thought it was fab!! xx

Terraza Mar Sun Suites - apartments very clean and spacious, balcony very large with table, umbrella and chairs, 2 loungers, seperate kitchen bathroom with large shower no bath.

Bedroom has a good sized double wardrobe with hangers, Apartments cleaned most days except Thursday and Sunday. Pool area with kiddies seperate pool excellent and plenty of sunbeds.

Would recommend these apartments especially to families, the only thing is the beach is a good 15 minute walk but a taxi is only 2-3 euro and the beach is nice. Just remember to hire a fan as there is no air conditioning in the actual apartments.

All in all these apartments are excellent.
