As soon as we entered the Enclave suites my heart sank
The place had a really bad smell throughout. My feelings did not improve on entering our studio which was rundown and dirty. The bedding looked disgusting.
the only good thing about this hotel was the location which was why we checked into the hotel next door after one night. If you have already booked CHANGE NOW it will cost you less than the £800 it cost my family to move.

If like us you booked your holiday before reading the reviews then many commiserations.
Arrived late on the Friday night, when I went to my room found it was tiny & no way could it have accommodated a family of 4 for 2 weeks.
After much argument with the desk staff we were moved to a 2 bedroom apartment (at an extra cost of $40 per night + taxes).
If you are not happy with your room then get back to the desk quick as there will normally be a queue trying to get moved
New room was grubby & very basic. Outside of our window was a funfair that was open until past midnight & could be very noisy.
We lasted for a few nights before checking out & moving to the Westgate Palace hotel next door at our own cost.
The only plus point of this hotel was the location.

Apprehensive about staying here having read some less than glowing reviews, but we ended up liking the place.

Stayed in a 2 bedroom suite, and that was plenty big enough for our family in Block 3. The maids did a fantastic job of clearing the debris of yet another visit to a park the previous day!

Onsite shop was basic and expensive, but only really used it a couple of times. Never had the contintental breakfast provided as we tended to go to Ponderosa for a 4.99 all you can eat buffet breakfast. The hotel does give an option to upgrade to a cooked breakfast, but not sure of the price.

Having a washing machine onsite also proved useful, as I came home with some clean clothes for the first time ever!

After reading the reviews on this particular hotel we were very nervous about coming here......and oh boy were we right to be!!

On arrival we were allocated a room in block 2 which was absolutely filthy, extremely run down where upon we didn't even unpack our suitcases we went straight back to reception and asked to be moved which we were. After moving to block three floor 10 we saw that we had a massive balcony which overlooked the lake with loungers and a table compared to the tiny area with 2 chairs that we had in the previous room. This was the only plus point about the apartment.

The room was never cleaned properly! I even had to reload the dishwasher every day as the dishes came out dirty because of not using enough soap. On two occasions we had to go to reception to ask for toilet paper and on the first occasion we had to wait four and a half hours. At two points in the holiday the air con broke and a much loved teddy bear went missing when the sheets were changed with no help from the staff to return it!

Talking about the staff the hotel reception staff were very unhelpful as was the first choice rep, who on arrival gave us very unsatisfactory directions to the apartment which resulted in us being lost for two and a half hours. The food court staff were very miserable as was the food.

This is never a 3+ hotel definitely a 2 and we wouldn't recommend it to anybody and if you have already booked and get the opportunity change!!!!!

The location was good, Disney was excellent, brilliant holiday out of hotel!

Hotel room very clean, corridors were dated and in need of decoration but we found them to always be clean. There was painting and decorating going on in block 3 while we were staying there.

Cleaners very helpful left rooms spotless and if you left any requests they were always sorted upon our return to room.

Location of hotel brilliant 2mins walk to I drive and less than 5 mins to the I4.

Pool area spotless cleaned every morning. Towels provided for use around pool free of charge.

Hotel staff very helpful in all aspects.

We would definitely return to this hotel next time we visit Florida.

The night before we travelled i checked the reviews and was very worried about staying at Enclave Suites.
On arrival we found staff to be helpful. On entering our room I was very disappointed. Two bedroom apartment was tired and in need of TLC.
We agreed to make the most of the holiday and put up with the apartment. The bedding did not appear clean and there was a problem with the bath plug which maintenance did fix straight away. My five year old decided to wake up at 4am and we found an unexpected visitor (Big Cockroach) on our bedroom wall. On hearing my screams, my stepfather bravely battled the beast and won.

Staff were shown the roach and apologised and offered us another room. We took the oppotunity to look at the offered apartment and could not believe our luck. The room was amazing and we had a fantastic two weeks at the enclave with no more visitors. Complaining makes sense!! The swimming pools were spotless and the indoor spa was brilliant after a hard day at the theme parks.

Make sure you visit the Ponderosa for Breakfast Buffet (Amazing). The Pirate adventure opposite the Hotel is a must for kids. Do not order Chinese Delivery from the hotel folder - Terrible

We stayed in block three in a 2 bedroom apartment. The communal areas were dated and a bit smelly but the apartment itself was clean and comfortable and had all we needed.

Our room cleaner Rosemary was lovely and kept things spotless, we could tell when it was her day off. Other visitors there at the same time as us were complaining about their rooms and having seen them I can only conclude that we were very lucky for what we had:- the one bedroom and studio apartments were shocking in some cases, tatty and dirty and so small.

We had a fabulous holiday which was unfortuntly marred by Block 2 within the Enclave Suites complex.Sadly the complex was run down and a bit shabby with a distict musty off smell floating around the corridors.

If you are taking small children please be wary of the balcony railings which appears to be secured to the wall by chewing gum!

That asise we had an excellent time which was assisted by Enclaves central location

Only positive point is the location.

Hotel itself is very, very dated, dirty, shabby and tired. Indoor pool area is filthy. Main bed was wedged between 2 walls and sofa bed mattress was full of holes. Forget even using the kitchen - unless you have a very strong stomach. Tiny balcony consisted of 2 dirty white plastic chairs and floor which had probably never been swept.

On complaining we were told we would have to wait 3 days for another room. Seems this is a private condo complex with rooms being furnished with whatever the owners happen to have available and then rooms sold through tour operators.

After further complaints to Tour Rep's boss we were moved to a Hotel near Sea World. Still a 3* but in a completely different league.

Was nervous about staying here after reading some reports that made the Enclave sound like a hotel from hell need not have worried it was fine.

Yes the carpets and decorating are a bit dated but it is clean and tidy maids always friendly clean towels every day as were all the staff.

Breakfast was not worth the extra money the free grab box and tea/coffee was a added bonus its only a muffin and a piece of fruit but it was handy for a snack.

The swimming pool was spotless and towels available outside, indoor pool very warm.

Excellent base if like us you are unable to drive as everything close by and you can get your iride tickets here which children travel on free,a bit of advice avoid the pirates show its not up too much have been to Florida twice went to Dolly Partons and really enjoyed it even though it was the same as last year.

Just had our first holiday in Florida.

Enclave suites were recommended and we weren`t disappointed. We had a studio and found it quite spacious, although the pull out sofa bed was positioned awkward, when pulled out.

The rooms were cleaned daily,I found it a bonus having a dishwasher, iron and full size ironing board also a good hairdryer. It saves space in your luggage not having to carry the extra items.

As it was room only basis, some days had the courtesy free breakfast, fruit, muffins and fruit juice we found this handy to pop in your bag to take to the parks, but most days used the facilities in the room, toaster, two ring hob, microwave and a full size fridge.

The hotel is ideally situated, we didnt do fly drive, and found using the local transport ideal. We got to all main parks/shopping malls with ease. The bus drivers are very helpful.

The staff at the hotel are very friendly and helpful, although dont always rush. We came back one day to find our kitchen area full of water which was coming in through the light fitting, apparently it was a fault with the air conditioning. We waited over an hour and no-one had been, but when we came back later after going out it was sorted and the water cleaned up.

Its a pity there were no entertainment/bar as after a long day out it would have been the ideal place to relax with a fab pizza from the on site Pizza hut.

We would definately go back to this hotel if only for the location.

The outside of the buildings and the corridoors are a little dated and could put you off at first, but the rooms are very nice inside and very clean.

We had a studio and there was plenty of room not small and cramped like those in other appartment complex's.

The breakfast was poor but you could upgrade to the buffet breakfast if you wanted. Reception and the cleaning staff were friendly and very helpfull.

Really good location could walk out to a number of bars and shops, TGI Fridays is just accross the road! We did not use the car really of an evening as you can walk everywhere and there is a land train taking you up and down I drive.

Best holiday in years - loved it great Direct Holidays and My Travel staff.

Really enjoyed our holiday and will be going back next new year

We booked our holiday through First Choice travel agents from gold medal holidays. We booked a two centre hoilday with 3 nights in New York and 11 in the Enclave Suites International Drive Orlando.

First part of hoilday ran very well with good travel arrangements and accommodation. When we got the the Envclave suites 3 families were complaining about thier accommodation at the front desk!!!!

Our from was quite adequate for holiday accommodation two bedrooms/ bathrooms one double bedroom and one twin bedroom with small kitchen [2 ring burner fridge/ microwave] but aslo included running water from the ceiling!!! We were told that the leak was from a now repaired burst on the next foor and should stop overnight, next day it did stop but the carpets were sodden, this time it was the a/c that was blamned and the hotel engineer arranged for blowers to dry everthing out after he sorted the problem.

After 12 hours+ we returned to the room and nothing had been done and the carpet were not just sodden but we were paddling!!!! The water had gone onto the bedding and I slipped when standing on the tiled floor area due to the water!

The engineer who had been the previous night came back, he was not very happy that his insturctions had not been carried out! and he insisted that we were moved to another room.

Hotel staff in reception were unhelpful and poor understanding of English, we had to insist on being moved. The room we moved into was grubby, the fridge had not been cleaned with sticky mulitcoloured sweet gunge over the fridge and it was very rusty. The fridge was needed as were were carrying insulin.

We tried to report what had happened to the First Chioce rep, but she told us that we were nothing to do with First Choice as we had booked with gold medal.

We nad no contact number for Gold Medal holidays in the USA so rang england for advice to be told it was up to the first choice rep!!!! or to ring the travel agents we had booked with!!!! We logged the complaint with Gold Medal. On return to the UK First Choice and gold medal are still in disagreement on where we should have had help, with each one saying that its was the other parties responsibilities to deal with it.

We have travel to the USA 10 times we have never met so unhelpful hotel staff-- excluding the engineer that was called to our room on two occasions. My daughter rang reception to ask for a suit case stand when we moved but was told they did not understand what she wanted and just put the phone down. Really good customer service!!! and this seemed typical of the attitude of the hotel staff.

Saying that Florida is great what we need to learn to do is complain like the Americans as they seem to get things done!!!

Some staff we very nice others not so.

Pool areas are great and are clean.

The hotel is in a great position just off I-Drive,with loads of places to eat nearby.

I stayed here with my family a few years ago.

The room was tiny and the walls where a rotten gone off colour! It may have improved since I stayed there but I do doubt it!

The hotel staff where nice thought as they moved us from a ground floor flat to one right in the middle which was way better but still not brilliant!

In the mornings you would get a breakfast box which I remember not being to nice and the restaurant/fastfood place was nice but not what you would expect!

The best thing about this hotel was its location it was so close to all the restaurants and wet and wild!

This was a good hotel with a great location - a short walk from restaurants, bars and universal studios and directly next to a fairground. Complimentary breakfast in the morning was a nice extra and having the pizza hut in the food court was nice.

I have been to Florida 6 times and cannot stress how amazing every time has been although I feel the hotels do not always live to the quality of european hotels.

The pools were nice as was the children's playground although the sand was rife with ants and so I did not really like my brother playing in it.

Our first night was a bit of a let down as we were given a studio on the ground floor which was small, dark and dismal - certainly not what we wanted. The staff were fine about a move the next morning- we were given a gorgeous big studio with two bathrooms and a kitchen and a small balcony which we had originally paid for.

The decor was slightly dated but in all the studio for a pleasure to stay in for 2 weeks. Both rooms had satellite TV as did the living space and it was fun being able to choose a newly released movie to watch if we were too tired to go out at night, there was a wide selection of films to choose from for a small charge at the end of your stay.

I guess I can't say a lot about Florida that will surprise - its the best!

In all this hotel was a nice relaxed place to return to at the end of each exciting day.

We have travelled as a family to Florida on 3 occasions twice staying at the The Enclave Suites.

The Enclave is an excellent family hotel with spacious rooms. The facilities are excellent with everything provided for, even down to the ironing board and iron.

The only moan would be the free continental breakfast which didn`t amount too much really, but you could upgrade to a full american style breakfast for a small charge.

The swimming pools were very good and never seems to get crowded.

I would fully recommend this hotel to anyone wishing to visit Florida for the first time.

We will be going again in 2005 and staying at the Enclave Suites.

We stayed at this hotel for Christmas and New Year 2003. We found it very clean, although some of the public areas could have done with a brush a little more often.

The location was excellent and within easy reach of all the attractions. A car was not necessary and we used the I-trolley for the two weeks, on a pre-paid roving ticket. A courtesy bus was also provided to the main attractions and as you are one of the first stops on the route, you seemed to get a seat with ease.

The hotel staff were very friendly and when a minor problem was reported, it was dealt with immediately.

The one thing I would like to have seen, was a lounge / bar area at the hotel, to enjoy a drink in the evenings when too tired to venture out. The Pizza Hut in the food court did, however, do a good deal on large Pizzas, should you wish to relax in your suite one evening.

I would thoroughly recommend this hotel to all and faced with the cold British weather this year at Christmas....I know where I would prefer to be!

Hi,

We stayed in the Enclave Suites in September last year for our first ever trip to Florida and it was great... maid service every day, roomy rooms, excellent location (just off of I-Drive but not too far away) and it overlooks a lovely lake which I believe is something to do with Wet n Wild just up the road. We found it was in an excellent location, nice pool, friendly (but little more expensive) shop open most hours. Oh and as a bonus, the Police have an office / station just across the road!! We wondered why there were police cars parked in the shop car park and then discovered an office upstairs. Oh, to reassure you, we never heard any of their sirens going off in case you got a bit worried.

Rooms - lets see, one double, one twin, 3 x tv's with lots of channels to choose from (not that we had time to watch them!), kitchenette with dishwasher (which the maid loaded and switched on every day), fridge with small freezer, 2 x bathrooms, one with a bath and one with a shower. We also had a small (and I do mean small!!!) balcony but some of the rooms had a terrace balcony which I presume were bigger rooms in total.

We also had an ironing board, safe (which we paid a deposit for), hairdryers in the bathrooms and other little extras. Pizza Hut downstairs too... Oh, if you book and get free continental breakfast you would be better off getting a box of cornflakes to eat or something... the breakfast isn't too special but, saying that, I guess it's free so what did I expect?!?!

Location was a minute's walk or less from I-Drive and what I call the restaurant end because its mostly restaurants and supermarket touristy type shops there.

All in all I would thoroughly recommend staying there - it was clean, the staff were friendly and helpful and in an ideal location I thought.

We went on our first trip to Florida in May 2003 and although we have no other previous visits to compare to we found the Enclave suites excellent. The Location was excellent - right in the middle of International Drive and so handy for everything. You could walk to Wet N Wild in minutes. There are three blocks of appartments with two swimming pools with jacuzis outside and another smaller pool indoors. The rooms were spacious and clean. We had a dishwasher (albeit a rather old brown thing) which was so handy, and a laundry just along the coridoor. Iron and board were in the wardrobe! We didnt have nightly entertainment but one Caribbean night a week with cocktails and buffet plus family entertainment which was very good. You actually dont need hotel based entertainment anyway as there is so much to see,do,eat and drink on I Drive anyway. The only thing I didnt like was the breakfasts which consisted of a takeaway box each containing a muffin bar, fresh orange juice and either an apple or orange. It tasted fine for the first few days but got pretty boring and we stopped bothering eventually and bought in our own breakfasts. Shuttle buses to Universal were frequent and fairly quick. We did have to find our own way to Disney but it was cheap and easy enough to get there too. So overall I have to say that the Enclave was a super base for a cracking holiday. As soon as we can afford it we will be back!
