| said: Overall the hotel was a in a dream location with lots of wonderful views. The down side to the holiday was that the staff themselves were not very helpful unless you tipped or were female parties.
The security around the hotel and resort were second to none and we felt very secure while walking within the resort. We didn't venture out of the resort so can't comment on anything other than where we stayed.
The first room we were allocated was within the second block and this was extremely big but we asked to be moved due to the noise in the evening at the pool bar (later finding out that this was a celebration for a Miss Belgium contest) to the main block where the main reception is - we were allocated another room but much smaller.
The pool facilities around both pools are beautiful and the beach facilities are great too (although now a bus ride rather than the boat ride as it states in the brochure).
They were promoting their 20 years of Three Corners business and asked for anyone celebrating a 20th birthday or anniversary to let them know & they would be treated to a meal with the Manager. As we were celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary we did mention this to our rep but were asked to 'prove it'! We also mentioned it to the customer relations team & they said they would arrange something - this never came.
As for our Direct Holidays rep - he was only interested in talking to people who wanted to purchase trips from him & after the arrival meeting where we didn't buy any trips he never acknowledged us apart from the room change request, us asking about the 20th anniversary & telling us about our flight times home - although we passed him on a number of occasions.
The music around the terrace in the evening was delightful, peanuts bar was a little more lively but the entertainment in the second block wasn't much to talk about at all & there are no drinks/bar facilities around this entertainment area.
Overall a great stay but wasn't as perfect as we were expecting....

| said: We thought the hotel was very clean throughout, with the staff constantly cleaning and tidying.
Our room was in the Du Soleis block with a lovely view over the Red Sea and the lagoon. Everything was within a five minute walk, except the beach which was a ten minute ride in the hotel's shuttle bus which ran regularly.
The staff were helpful and friendly all the time and couldn't do enough for you. They were always cheerful and polite.
Of the entertainment we saw, there was a guy singing to recorded backing music on the terrace (he was not too bad). Down at the other block (Du Port) there was a nightly show. We peeped in a couple of times, but were not impressed by what was on offer.
Despite the positive comments above however, no we wouldn't visit this hotel again. The resort was too quiet for us (not enough to see or do).
We were on a AI basis for the first time which we now know isn't for us. This is because we found the food and drink at the hotel was not up to the standard of the hotel generally,in fact it was quite awful. Breakfast wasn't too bad, but lunch and dinner were a mishmash of choices that didn't sit together to make a meal and were poorly, and unappertisingly presented. Plus, if you went to eat even slightly after the start of each sitting, many of the choices of dishes had gone and what was left was lukewarm or cold and looked like pig swill. Every day the restaurant had a theme for dinner, i.e. Italian, Oriental, International etc..., but this made no difference. We are not fussy eaters, but did find this meant we ate a lot of the same choices (salad), and didn't have a proper meal during our entire stay.
The beer, tea, and coffee were ok, but the soft drinks were warm and flat, and the wine was simply foul!

| said: My husband and I found the Three Corners Ocean View to be excellent, the food was great, in particular the vast array of salads available for lunch and dinner, as well as all the hot dishes to choose from.
Also, the hotel provided bottled mineral water as and when you wanted it. We've travelled all over the world and considered the staff to be some of the most helpful, cheerful and just downright nice people we have ever met, nothing was too much trouble.
We left feeling we really wanted to return next year as even though Ocean View didn't have a beach actually at the hotel - there was a beach which could be reached by frequent shuttle bus, the pool areas and sand deck were well equipped with comfortable sun beds and we could enjoy peace and quiet or join in with the activities, as we wished.
We had a lovely room with a balcony overlooking the Red Sea and the lagoons, and the view was magnificent. The sea really does go a pinky red at sunset.

| said: My husband and I stayed at this hotel in November 06 and again in May 07. The hotel is spotless and the staff are fantastic. We found the buffet food to be of a very good standard and you can also use various other restaurants around El Gouna for a small supplement. There are 2 sections to the hotel and both have their own restaurants and pools but you are not restricted to stay in your own block. One pool is surrounded by glass so that you don't feel the breeze and the other one is quite windy.
There is a bar attached to the hotel called Peanuts which is very good. There is also a lobby bar and 2 pool bars. The enclosed pool bar is open in the evenings. All your drinks are AI (some of the cocktails are not AI).
The only downside to this hotel is that there is no beach whatsoever. There is a small decked area with steps into the water but you only have a limited area due to passing boats.
If you are not a beach person you will love it here. Value for money is fantastic.

| said: We really enjoyed the hotel as all the staff were friendly and just couldn't do enough to help. It was spotlessly clean and we saw them change the water coolers for real mineral water so we knew it was safe to drink. Our room was magnificent with probably the best view in the hotel. If we were to go again I would check that we had this room or at least one on the sunny side of the building - most of those overlooking the marina don't get any sunshine.
The food in the main reataurant was great the only down side being that it could feel a bit like school dinners - when it was busy you sometimes had to queue. We ate in one of their other restaurants and it was well worth the extra- you do get 30 Egyptian pounds credit each if on full board (£3! but Lobster is only about £10 for a whole one!).
The pool in the Marina with the four poster sun beds is heavenly but you do need to be up by 7 am to get one that stays in the sun all day! The main pool was also fine but obviously busier. We were disappointed on arrival to find that the hotel no longer own the beach on the opposite side of the marina - they still have a private beach but it is a bus ride away and shared with the other Three Corners Hotel in El Gouna.
The entertainment staff do work hard and are very pleasant but with so many guests it was difficult to get it right for everyone. We did enjoy the bellydancing classes and also the show they did. The quiz night wasn't so much a favourite!
It is worth tipping the maid and some of the waiting staff as you do see how much they then try to spoil you - 10 Egyptian pounds is only £1 to us but goes a long way for them. They also enjoy European cigarettes (Marlboro) and were forever trying to buy my mobile phone from me so it could be somewhere to take your old model to sell!
We just loved being in the calm atmosphere of the hotel and could easily have spent a whole fortnight just resting there. If you are looking for something more active then you would probably do better elsewhere or you would need to book lots of trips and activities.
We went for a lovely rest & a pleasant atmosphere and were not disappointed in the least and would love to return later in 2007.

| said: Have recently returned from a stay in this hotel, and immediately went out and booked another holiday there for next year. This was our first trip to Egypt and we didn't really know what to expect from the hotels, but our fears were unfounded.
This hotel is excellent and we would recommend it to anyone visiting El Gouna. Although not a five star like others in the resort, it has a standard of service from staff which would not go amiss in a high rating.
The hotel itself is set in a stunning location - our room on the 2nd flor looked out over the pool, beach and sea - great views of the kite surfers and yachts coming in and out. Very close by is the marina, which is a lovely place to wonder around in the evening with a good mix of shops, bars and restaurants.
The actual rooms were a good size with decent amenities, although the water pressure in the shower sometimes left a bit to be desired. The rooms were always cleaned to a high standard, as was the whole hotel, and the animal creations the cleaners created with the towels were excellent - kept our son amused for hours.
We were surprised by the food as this was our first time going all inclusive; normally eating out when abroad, but it was very good. There was a good variety every day, and something for everyone - it was also nice to see then not pandering to the British or any other nationality with a particular type of food. The Head Chef was great and often went and made a special lunch for our 5 year old son, if he got a bit picky. Although by the end of the holiday, we were a bit tired of buffet eating, this is not to detract from the quality of the food.
However, what set this hotel apart from others we have stayed in was the friendliness of the hotel staff, regardless of job. All of them went out of their way to be very friendly and it always felt geuine - we even made good friends with the rather burly security guards. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble for them, especially when it came to our son, who received a number of presents.
Even the Entertainment Team, who normally come in for some stick when reviewing hotels, were good - well they kept our son amused for two weeks - no mean feat!!
The only minor niggle was the lack of a decent beach to go swimming from - the hotel's beach was great for sunbathing, but offered little opportunity to swim as it was too shallow and next to the entrance to the Marina. However, the boat trips to get to the beach were good fun - although advertised at once every half hour, they ran much more frequently than that.
All in all, I would definately recommend this hotel all around, especially in relation to the location and staff. If you wish to visit a lovely resort, and stay in a four star hotel at a reasonable price, then you cannot go wrong.

Its not like the real Egypt though as it is a purpose built tourist resort. The only downside was although the hotel had a small private beach, you weren't allowed to swim from it as there were boats from the marina going past all the time.
You had to get a boat over to the real beach (which was only about 20 meters away!) The two pools were lovely though. The rooms were spacious and clean and we loved the way the cleaners created us a different creature each day with our towels!
The food was good, but a bit repetative. We didn't really bother much with the entertainment, although it seemed OK.
The staff were there if you wanted them (bit slow on drinks though) but didn't hassle you at all for tips.
The sunbed guys were great and if you gave them a small tip they would happily reserve your sunbeds for you.

| said: This was our first visit to Egypt, and we were unsure what to expect. We generally found the overall holiday, resort and service to be of an excellent standard. Very safe, secure and clean, without retailer hassle!
Although we were All Inclusive, we did eat dinner out 5 evenings out of 7! This is not a criticism of the hotel food, it's just that we personally can't quite face buffet meals three times a day for the duration of the holiday - for us it gets a bit repetitive. Also, it was lovely to walk around the Marina in the evening and browse restaurant menus etc to choose somewhere nice for dinner. The dine around arrangement certainly helps to keep the cost down!
The staff at the hotel were very friendly and attentive. We had a problem with our shower, which caused much confusion, but once clarified, was immediately fixed. We then got a visit from the Maintenance Manager to check all was OK. The one tiny downside was no bath, only a small shower cubicle, with poor water pressure. The entertainment that we did see was a bit naff, but that doesn't bother us as it's not a priority for our holiday. Their attitude to cleaning, we would say, verges on obsessive compulsive - polishing sun loungers and pathway lighting!
All in all, highly recommended, and we are quite fussy!

| said: On arrival we were disappointed with this hotel because it seemed more 3 star than 4.
Cleanliness however was ist class and it grew on us over the 2 weeks. The staff were the most friendly and helpful we have encountered anywhere.
The food was good on the whole and certainly much better than Cuba.
We always read reviews before we travel and realise that peoples views are going to be influenced by their previous experiences of world travel so are very subjective. This did seem very much a 3 star hotel if compared with 4 star ratings in say the carribean.
The staff actually won us over in the end. The rooms are basic, the shower very small but everything worked and when I requested 4 extra pillows they arrived within minutes. Nothing was too much trouble.
Most people had someone in their party who got diarrhoea---A tip --the first morning you are there go to the local paharmacy and buy Antinal-it is the local remedy and cost about 50p! At the first sign start taking it. People found that immodium doesn't work beacause it is a specific bacteria - one man was taken to hospital - so being prepared meant we only lost 2 days of the holiday.
I personally would hesitate bringing a small child as it is quite painful.

Few things which may help, if you don't want to eat every night of your stay please make use of the dine around, we did it 3 times in our stay (2 at captains Inn and Chez Pascal) for £10 including drinks it's excellent. The other thing is the wind in day and evening, it's lovely but strong some days and nights, we enjoyed the break here so much we are planning to go in October, something we've never done before, gone back to the same hotel!! Excellent location, rooms lovely, excellent staff
Be aware on one thing, the sea and snorkelling is not the same as Sharm

| said: We have just got back from our holiday and it was a great holiday in a lovely hotel.
The place was so clean ,food was varied and good ,catered for all.
The pools were a good size with plenty of space with a no reserve policy. Any towels left for more than an hour unattended were removed and had to be collected. The beach was lovely and so was the surrounding Marina.
We went on a couple of trips while we were there. One was the 1 day Luxor trip which was really interesting but a long day (4.45 - 23.30)but I would highly recommend it,and the Giftun Island trip, this was so relaxing and even got to see Dolphins swimming along side the boat.
The hotel also does a free boat trip around the marina a couple of times a week where they tell you all about the history of the place and which house belongs to which celeb. The hotel does a few free things like this including a free bike tour of El gouna.
The staff were great with all including the kids ,showing them loads of tricks to play on their friends back home.
The entertainment wasnt over the top which suits us as we prefer a relaxing holiday rather than a (wacky) one ,only down side was one person trying to turn it into some sort of singalong every evening which had everyone planning on how to gag her and getting away with it.
Or telling every member of staff that where they are going wrong is by not serving gravy at every meal time!!
I think she had got on the wrong flight.

The hotel is right by the marina, and very beautiful. The beach is a short walk or boat ride away. Once you are there it is really peaceful. The trip we went on was excellent, and with the white sand, the clear sea, and hundreds of fish swimming around your feet, it was like being in the Caribbean.
We liked the fact that there was never any pressure to join in the activities - we went for a relaxing break, and thats exactly what we got. Love it and would love to go back.

The hotel is set in the most superb location overlooking the red sea and Abu Tig Marina. The staff at the hotel could not do enough for you.
The room was spacious and the the food selection was excellent, always hot and there was always plenty of it no matter what time you chose to eat.
The only downside was the main pool. People must have been up at 4 in the morning putting their towels on the longers (and the hotel was not full when we were there).
The other pool was by the 2nd building which was only about 100yards down the road and luckily you could still get a lounger at about 10.30am.
Failing that the beach was only a 40yard boat ride away and there was plenty of space on it all the time. There were some daytime activities if you wanted to join in with them but you were not pestered by the staff to do so.
Evening entertainment consisted of a solo singer, probably not enough to keep young children entertained but he was quite good and also amusing on occasions!
I have never visited a hotel in such a stunning location and it is the perfect place for a relaxing holiday.

I recommended my mum & her husband to go & they did so with their friends and agreed with us that it was a fantastic hotel in a fantastic setting. Not the best resort for snorkelling but you can go on trips if this is what you are looking for.
The staff are incredibly friendly & I must say I can't wait to go again and neither can my mum & her friends.
We went to the hotels lobby bar(in the next block) most nights where we were entertained by the animation team or a singer. It was nice & warm in there as it was very windy most nights.
We used the pool at the 2nd block & the service we received there was 2nd to none - try it you won't be disappointed.

| said: We were very sceptical about booking an all inclusive holiday, as you hear so many stories of 'lack of choice' and 'food not hot' and 'too many queues for everything' but let me tell you this was completely the opposite.
We expected to be eating the same meals a couple of times during our week long stay, but I can honestly say that, apart from the freshly cooked omelete for breakfast every morning, we had a different meal every day.
The location of this hotel is excellent, however you do not get a true sense of the real Egypt unless you venture out to Hurghada or further.
Everything was so clean and well presented.
The resort itself had everything you could possibly need if you want a relaxing weeks holiday, but it did appear to be extremely quiet.
We have no complaints at all, the staff were friendly and always willing to help. We were never hassled at all for a tip, but we did feel that the service was excellent and all the staff deserved to be rewarded.
Would we go there again?, for a quiet, relaxing break, probably yes! For a cultural experience, probably not, as we could have been anywhere in the Mediterranean.

| said: If peace and tranquility with a touch of sophistication are your idea of the ingredients for a perfect holiday then this is the place for you. We were made to feel like royalty from the moment we arrived until we left and had a fantastic holiday!!!
The food was superb with plenty of variety and it certainly made a change to stay in a hotel that doesn't cater for the stereotypical 'brit on tour'. We enjoy trying local food and there was plenty to sample with different themes every night. You also have the option of eating in one of two local restaurants with credit towards your bill.
Every room has a sea/marina view and our room was of a more than comfortable size with air con and sat tv. The room was cleaned every day and maintained to the same high standards as the rest of the hotel.
Entertainment was basic but extremely funny most nights with different caberets layed on. I have to admit it wasn't ideal for children but this is mainly an adults only hotel. The team did an excellent job with the facilities available and didn't bother you if you were more interested in chilling out while soaking up the sun.
As for the hotel staff, I have never met such friendly peolple and they can't do enough for you. I only visited the bar several times all week as everything is brought to you without expecting a tip.
This is definately the place for you if your idea of the perfect holiday is to chillout. El Gouna still has plenty to offer though with numerous sophisticated bars, restaurants and boutiques.
The only disapoint was that to experince the wonders of the red sea you had to book a boat trip but this was easy enough with plenty of dive centres nearby. El Gouna isn't suitable for snorkeling although the beach is superb.
We would definately visit this hotel again I just wish I could award it 6 stars instead of five as I cannot praise it enough!!!

The food was good but got a bit repetative during the 2nd week, but the hotel done a Dine Around El Gouna where they issued you with a voucher to eat out this would cover most of the cost of the bill and guest relations even booked your table at the restraunt(we used ours at Captains Steakhouse).
The hotel location is excellent, overlooking the marina and the Red Sea,beautiful!!!!The staff were very friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble for them.
The entertainment is basic not much entertainment in the evening,a show twice a week performed by the animation team,we were quite happy with this as there is also shows taking place in the marina which were very enjoyable.
We cant wait to return to this hotel enjoyed every minute of it.

We felt the food let the rating down, this was not five star food, it would struggle, in my opinion to rate as three star.
The location was perfect, with the view of the marine at the front of the hotel, and the lagoon at the back.
The staff were friendly and helpful at all times, we had a problem early with our room, this was dealt with quickly and efficiently.
The entertainment in the evening was unfortunately very poor, but the daytime activities seemed to be well organised.
We very rarely go back to a location, but my husband and I both enjoyed are stay there.

Rooms were spotless and cleaned and tidied everyday with gresh towels. Tv in english channels.
Excellent location on the side of Marina with the pool and beach at your fingertips.
Few shops and restaurants around the marina. And a festival every friday with BBW which was fun.
Entertainment was from 10am untill late with belly dancing classes to water aerobics, very enjoable.
I have already booked up this hotel for next year as had a great time.
Just a not that if you go on any excursions and return late to the hotel, order a take away because the food the hotel put in your room is just cheese and bread.

| said: Stayed at the Three Corners Ocean View Hotel from the 15th of April to the 29th April 2005.
Had heard many things about Egypt, none very good, so as this was our first trip to Egypt we were a bit apprehensive. Well we need not have worried. What a very nice hotel. OK there were areas that let the 4 star rating down a little bit, but nothing serious.
Reception was painless. Staff polite and very friendly.
Room was spotless. Air condition worked superbly well. Well enough furnished. Nice balcony overlooking the gardens. And the TV had a film channel that was on 24 hours a day, in English.
Pool location was superb. Just off the pool area is a beach area with plenty of windbreaks and parasols. For sun lovers superb. Service from the pool bar we found to be excellent.
The actual position of the hotel is superb. The hotel complex runs along one side of the marina. Round the rest of the marina are shops and restaurants.
Hotel staff were very, very good. Helpful at all times, even more so if you tipped them a few Egyptian pounds. (11 Egyptian pounds to one of ours whilst we were there) But even if you did not tip them they were always so helpful.
Entertainment was carried out by the hotels animation team, who did superbly well. Poolside activities, just chatting to guests, putting on evening cabarets, all done with style. The only gripe I would have is that there was not one act brought into the hotel from outside. So the evening entertainment was repeated, on the whole, if you were staying for 2 weeks like we were.
Food in the restaurant was my only real complaint. It was, on the whole, very well cooked, very tasty, and there was a fair choice. BUT it was on nearly every occasion luke warm. Only the freshly cooked egg dishes at breakfast were piping hot.
Would we go back to this hotel? Most certainly we would. The sooner the better. Do not pay heed to adverse reports. We are pretty fussy, but would have no hesitation recommending this hotel to anyone.
