| said: We stayed in the Menorca Sea Club Apartments in July/Aug 2008.
After reading a number of reviews I was pleasantly surprised to find that our apartment was very clean on arrival and we had a lovely maid who cleaned the apartment and balcony area 5 times per week. Floors were cleaned and mopped, towels changed daily and the bed linen was changed 5 times in the two weeks we were there. Maybe we just got lucky with our maid but she was excellent. When our one year old was napping she would creep around to ensure she didn't wake her.
The rest of the complex was spotless. The pool and grass areas are particularly well kept and there are always people cleaning up, cutting grass and trimming hedges. My only negative would be the bins around the pool need to be emptied a couple of times a day rather than leaving it until each evening.
We didn't eat much at the on-site restaurants. A couple of times we ate at the Pizzeria as our eldest (12) was off having a movie and pizza night in the Wavelength club. Food was good and prices reasonable. Never ate in the bar as the menu looked pretty limited. There are plenty of nice restaurants in the centre of the resort.
I loved the location of the hotel. It was far enough away from the resort centre to be nice and quiet but close enough to walk to and fro. I really enjoyed the walk - at least gave me some much needed exercise. I can imagine if you have younger kids but not young enough to be in a pushchair then it might be a bit problematic and a long walk for little legs.
The hotel staff were extremely friendly and very good at what they do.
The kids clubs are extremely well run and the reps really enthusiastic. Our little one went to the creche a couple of times and our older boy went to Wavelength which he really enjoyed (despite telling us beforehand that he wasn't interested in a kids club!). He went to the beach with them, went crabbing and jumping off rocks into the sea as well as having movie and pizza nights and a night out into the resort for a meal.
The entertainment staff work really hard too. The entertainment wasn't really my thing but what they do, they do well. My one year old loved the disco dance down at 8pm. WE tended to eat around 6.30/7 in town and walk back in time for her to dance with the older kids - she loved it. I'm sure we wouldn't have gone if we didn't have a little one but the kids thought it was great. Our boy took a liking to Bingo much to my amazement! The entertainment staff weren't pushy and if you wanted to join in you could but there was no pressure. The water polo, darts & pool etc. during the day weren't for us but lots of others seemed to enjoy it.
Would I go back - yes probably for a week rather than two and only while the kids are young. It really is centred around kids and is great for them - don't go if you want a romantic getaway!

| said: Board was self catering but they have a resturant on site and if they cooked the food properly and priced it right they would have more customers as the location of the hotel being a fifteen minuet walk to the main area.
We ate there on arrival as most do and the food was well below par and waited for it to long god knows why as you will see not many guests stay there to eat .
Giovannis being a good place to eat you have great portions at a reasonable price and cheaper than most we discovered it by chance and ate there on a few occaisions it is past the Vista picas as if your heading out and turn right that road will bring you out facing it.
Cleanliness average not a four star linen that was so holey it should be in church okay they chance a few times a week which we had to prompt them but wash the floor with a dirty mop and the apartments have seen better days basic and basic stocked could have done with an oven for pizza etc.
Loation we have visited the Island on ten occaisions and when we booked latedeals we knew the location was out a bit from the main centre . Nice little walk and you see the bats etc but what a sunset well worth viewing.
We hired the useual car not from the hotel or reps Nucar by burger king a cheaper option with everything included and Julie & Linda are very helpful had a problem and sorted out promptly. Also they have an exchange bureau to get your euro or cheques cashed.
Staff reception good at the job for what we used them for and found the reps smiling to one problem we approached the reps about and they helped being not a great lover of reps as they tend to try and fleece you with overpriced trips found them to be okay but still want to fleece you.
Entertainment seemed ok nasty cruel guy with parrots should be banned but we were out most of the time and got back late but heared they try there best and kiddies enjoyed themselves .
As kids club our youngest went a few times and had a ball.
Pool gets busy but they have a few and you need to bag a decent place no matter what they say towells start to go out about 6.30am.
We stayed in a block away from themain centre and had a top floor bliss until one family moved in next to us and threw the kids out on the balcony early in the morning yes were all on holiday but have concern for those around you a word to the rep and sorted .
Rent a car and look about there are some nice beaches Santo Thomas a good visit drive right down to the end park by the Victoria Playa and use the beach by there.
Cala Tirant nice beach but steep concrete path some nudity but hey were on holiday and more liberal than our parents. To many to mention Cala Galdana nice but gets very overcrowded. Son Parc get there early lovely day.
Well enjoy your holiday and renember others are there to enjoy it too.

| said: We stayed in the Sea Club on a family holiday for 2 weeks ( end of june iton July),there was 4 adults & a total of 5 kids aged 1-5yrs.
The hotel was clean, rooms quite basic, definately not 4*, more 2*, but cleaned quite often.
The Pizzeria was the better of the 2 options for food.
Quite a limited menu in the bar area but we never had a problem with anything we ordered & the staff were very nice & couldnt do enough for you.The pool area was very clean, we stayed in block A,which was opposite a small pool, plenty of sun beds & parasols & the kids loved the small splash park beside the pool.
There was 2 other pools, a large kids pool & 1 large adults pool, again plenty of sun beds & very clean
We all loved the location, spectacular sea views & a constant breeze which was great for keeping the kids cool, plenty of on site parking if you hire a , which I highly recommend , we did for 8 days car& got to see lots of beautiful spots, not to be missed is Cala Galdana, beautiful sheltered beach & 2 water slides beside it,they are great when the kids tire of the beach, another lovely beach is Son Bou.
The entertainment in the hotel was ok in the evenings, i felt they could put on 1 or 2 shows for the kids, there was a mini disco every evening @ 8,but the kids had no interest in it.Bingo every night @ 9,maybe they could throw in 1 or 2 other games. The entertainment staff were all lovely & never pushy. We only stayed round for the entertainment for about 5 of the nights & it was enough.Kids clubs were well ran.
The odd night they get in a tribute show, we saw The Freddie Mercury one, on one of the evenings & it was really enjoyable, the place was packed.
All in all, a great family holiday, kids had a fab time & thats what its all about when your on a family holiday!

James and Hayley kept both adults and kids entertained very well, they also took time to say hi and made a real effort to get to know you. which was surprising considering how busy they were organising our entertainment.we have longed for a holiday and enjoyed our week so much we are booked for 2 Weeks next year.

| said: On the whole we had a good holiday but had a few niggles. Our 5 year old really enjoyed herself and it is ideal for kids. The pool areas are very clean but the constant squirting of water pistols from the kids does get on your nerves, it should be limited to one pool.
On arrival we were given directions to our room which involved going down a set of steps, which was totally unpractical given that we had 3 suitcases, a baby in a buggy and a 5 year old. We did find another, much longer, way round later to save carrying the buggy up and down stairs for a week.
The room was in block C and was probably the biggest apartment we have ever stayed in, lots of space and not overlooked. This also meant as it was away from the main pool that it was quiet - just what we wanted. Although, I have to say the rooms are a bit dated and on arrival our floor was dusty and dirty.
The entertainment is great if you go in for that sort of thing. The staff are not at all pushy if you want to be left alone, as we often did with having the baby. We often joined in with the bingo and watched the evening entertainment but have to say the parrot show, being late, was the quickest ever.
The pizzeria is very good and good value but the bar food was awful. I heard a few people complain about cold food and value for money. This was the worst salad I'd ever had and the only time I've seen my daughter not eat her favourite, spaghetti bolognaise. The choice isn't brilliant either.

The pools are all very clean and lots of entertainment during the day for the whole family inpaticuler the waterpolo and mens killer pool and killer dart.James and hayley entertained all the familys throughout the evening and daytime to a very high standard even working on there days off. (stars)

Our apartment was situated right opposite the park which was ideal for our 4 year old and as we were situated on the ground floor our 1 year old could crawl out onto the garden area also. The entertainers all worked hard as there was something going on all day and night ranging from water polo to high school musical. I would visit these apartments again, the only thing was it was a good 10 minutes walk into the centre at night and my 4 year old didnt want to walk so its a good job we took her pram!

| said: We had a great holiday at the Sea Club and would return. Our apartment was no 1, right on the end corner of A Block on the ground floor. Not a good location for runaway toddlers as it is as close to the road as you can get! However we had lovely sea views over the cliffs from our terrace.
We had maid service 5 days out of the 7 we stayed. We used the onsite restaurant on a couple of nights when the kids were too tired to walk into town. The food was ok (nice cheese n ham toasties!) but the service by the waiting staff was always excellent.
The apartments are well equipped with plenty of wardrobe space and it was good to have air conditioning included. My son loved the complimentary toiletries (toothbrushes, little soaps etc)!
If I had any complaints it would be that the terraces and balconies should have been planned with rails/gates to keep little ones secure. The terraces are open plan and the balconies have no gates so your little could fall down the stone steps (a little strange for a Family Choice hotel). Our toddler had a lovely big travel cot with baby sheets included which was nice.
It is quite a long walk for little legs when walking to the centre of Cala n Forcat when the weather is warm but we got used to it. The children loved the onsite entertainment, the reps work really hard to make things a success, and the pools were nice and clean, as were the surrounding gardens. The supermarket on site is expensive so it is worth the walk to the Bettabuy supermarket to buy your bread and things. We wish we had booked for 2 weeks instead of 1. Our 7 year old didn't want to come home and neither did we!

| said: We booked this accommodation because it was "family friendly" for our little boy who is just 3 years old. It was only our second holiday abroad with him. The location was perfect because it was quiet and away from the main restaurants/bars etc. The apartment was big, bright, well equipped and clean. The maids worked hard and kept the whole place looking clean (shame that the brits don't take so much pride in their holiday surroundings).
The Pool area was beautiful, with more than enough sun loungers (despite some people going out at 7.15am to put their towels out). The grounds men were trimming the hedges, emptying bins in common areas and maintaining the gardens and lawns all the time. A thoroughly pleasant holiday environment and what a fantastic view! Wow!
The Firstchoice Reps were superb, the bar staff friendly and the food at the bar/cafe and also in the Pizzeria were good value and well presented.
Our little boy was poorly and within 10 minutes of talking to the rep the local doctor was brought up to our room - we couldn't ask for more.
Anyone who doesn't rate this hotel is either miserable, narrow minded or not great at choosing the right holiday for their needs! A thoroughly enjoyable holiday with great people in a great location.
Thank you Firstchoice!

We where in block a which was in a brilliant spot with a great sea view and great for the pool.
We ate at the bar there most nights which the food was very nice and very resonable priced.
We stopped at the resort most nights as the children enjoyed the entertainment which was very good.
I most say thay all worked very hard well done to James, Hayley, Suzie and Michelle who didn't stop working all day long.
Also to all the girls and ash who worked hard in the kids club and wave length and not to forget the maids who worked hard to keep the rooms clean.
Me and my family will be visiting again very soon.

The only down side for us was were it was located. We dreaded the walk up to the shops and bars, by the end of the week it seemed more like a hours walk rather than 10 minutes.

The hotel was nice and clean with the pools well looked after, plenty of sun loungers and a well stocked shop (Cheaper shops are only a short walk away)
We ate twice at the restaurant and enjoyed the food.
The best part of the holiday was the holiday reps, from Emma, James, Fran and Samara who work all day and night keeping everybody entertained with Bingo, Quizzes, Water Polo, Football, Table Tennis and anything else for all the family.
To the fantastic Kids entertainers Jazzy Jay, Sunshine Sarah, Fantastic Phil, Crazy Keeley and Exciting Elsa who made the holiday for us and the kids.
Also the trip to Pedros for the o What a night is a great night out (Unless your a boring fart) with plenty to eat and drink along wth good entertainment.
We arrived home at midnight and are going to book our return for next year this afternoon but for 2 weeks.

| said: This is a First Choice apartment complex so only First Choice holidaymakers are here. Consequently there are no German, Scandinavian or Spanish guests - just English, Irish, Scottish and Welsh. In fact I didn't see or hear a single non-British person in the entire resort of Cala'N Forcat!
Hotel is right on the edge of the cliff which is a bit scary if you get too close to the edge but means you get a lovely view. We were in block B which is the quieter block. If you get put in Block A then don't expect any sleep before about 12.30am when the entertainment finishes. Entertainment was your usual holiday camp stuff - Karaoke, Mini Disco, Freddie Mercury tribute act etc etc. We saw a bit of it a couple of nights but that was all.
We didn't eat in either of the restaurants on site as we found a lovely restaurant which was very reasonable about ten minutes walk away.
Shop on site had all the essentials but there were much cheaper shops a short distance walk away.
Apartments were kept clean although ours did smell a bit fusty - nothing we couldn't live with though. Beds were lumpy but again, okay for the week.
We were expecting kids to be there (even though it wasn't summer holidays) but not quite the hundreds that ended up there! They were everywhere!! That said, the complex is very much geared towards young children so we should have expected it. I wouldn't go back to Menorca Sea Club as a couple, but it's great for those who want to get rid of their kids for a few hours a day.
Staff were very friendly and helpful (someone got off our coach at a different hotel and took my suitcase in error, and the Spanish receptionist went to collect it for me and delivered it to our apartment within half an hour of us arriving).
Entertainment staff worked really hard, and the swim kids instructor showed fantastic enthusiasm under enormous pressure from the hundreds of inflatables that kept blowing into the instruction area of the pool!
In summary - really nice, well run complex in a good location but very much geared towards families with young children.

The shop assistant is a bit cheeky, stayin on the phone while you wait but hey, what the heck. Foods poor, pools good but cold, dont use the laundry, euro 30 for 3 loads/dry. You must hire a car and go to Sant Tomas, Cala Galdana, Son Bou and Arenal de Castille, top beaches, Cala n Bosch harbour is also lovely. Cala Blanes is full of Scots, Irish & Scousers. Jimmy Hills sq is the only real entertainment on offer. Beware Pedros ranch night, avoid at all costs. Enjoy, I actually did.

I was greated with a bottle of champagne with me having been there before, also we were all situated in the same area of the complex which was great.
The rooms were again very clean and well maintained, these are also quite spacious, especially the rooms upstairs, they also have a balcony.
we were in the B block which in my opinion is the best at this Hotel, it overlook the sea and the Sun sets right facing the rooms which is really nice to see.
The kids club is great for the nippers, thats also next to the B block, there is always lots for the kids to do here with the entertainment team working very hard all day long.
The Hotel restaurant is nice food is great, the pizzeria is also very nice but I found myself fighting with a stray kitten one night over the steak on my plate, the kids found it funny!
There are two pools and a water fountain area all very clean and a baby pool.
Sun beds are in abundance no fighting over them.
Overall a great place to stay and I would go back again next year.

| said: I have just come back from Cala n Forcat Sea Club apartments. I went with my daughters and 3 year old grandson. We had room 99. Opposite the kids club.
When we arrived in our room. I personally did not think the floor had been cleaned. I found dirty tissues under the bed settee in living area. There were lots of flies coming into the apartment. I bought a fly spray which did help. The one thing that really annoyed me was, the sheets for the bed were always damp, and so were my clothes. I put this down to being so close to the sea. It was not very nice having to get into a damp bed every night. Also there were no blankets or covers provided only sheets.
I did not want to complain to reception, but I'm sure I would have got a blankets for beds if I had asked. Was not very warm at night all. Had to turn air conditioning off at night to keep warm.
My daughters shared the main bedroom and said it did not feel damp in their room. But said there bed was very uncomfortable, Other then that, they thought the place was great.
My little grandson had the time of his life. He really Really loved it there. I must admit if your kids are happy, then you are happy.
We did not go to the beach at all because it was to awkward to get to. Was not bothered about going to it. If the kids want sand, there is a big sand pit in the sea club.
Everyone at the sea club were very friendly, All the other families that were there, were all lovely. All the children played with each other out on the green during the day. they also played in each others apartments.
I can't really fault the place at all. The entertainment was not bad, It was great for the kids. I can honestly say if you have children sea club has got to be one of the best places to take them.
They will never be bored or be under your feet. My daughters said they will go back again. Not so sure about me though. Kids, kids kids. But just lovely for young families.

The hotel staff were very pleasent and allways greated you with a warming and cheery smile.
We did eat at the hotel a couple of times and the food was good, but did find some lovely resturants just a short walk into the town.
Would we come here again, yes we would, and we would most certainly recommend this hotel for familys.

The apartments are cleaned on a regular basis and the complex is spotless.
The staff are all very freindly especially Emma the english receptionist who points you in the right direction, from the best beaches to bars and reataurants.
She had us around the island visiting all the best places in Menorca in only 1 week.
Entertainment was poor as the entertainers had little enthusiasm.
Hire your car with reception not First choice as it is much cheaper.

| said: This was our first time away with two small children and I read lots of reviews before deciding where to go. I can safely say that the Menorca Sea Club was fantastic and I would recommend it to anyone going away with kids.
Apartments were compact but perfectly adequate - no oven, but microwave meant we could do quick lunches for the children. Cleaned regularly, and maids were really helpful. Best thing was you could get Cbeebies on the TV which was a brilliant when we were trying to unpack or get ready to go out!
We had an apartment overlooking the kids club which was the quieter side and never had any problems with noise. I wouldn't haveliked to be next to the stage though as the noise would have kept the children up at night.
Entertainment was your usual holiday rep stuff - the reps were actually really good - we only used the creche and the girls were great with the kids.
We ate at the apartments a couple of times in the pizza place which was delicious, and otherwise we walked into Cala n Forcat which wasn't too far, and had kids play areas where we could relax and kids could play. Food was much the same everywhere - chips and fried food for the children - we always asked for baked beans for veg, but when we got it, the veg was deep fried! Overall though everywhere was very friendly.
Overall a really great place to stay - must mention Emma on reception - very helpful and friendly.

| said: Reception was great, Emma is English and all the staff very helpful. The bar staff were great and did their best to speak English, they loved a laugh and were on duty till 1am!
You can eat in the restaurant but we only did once. Breakfast however is great,6 euros for a eat what you like, continental or full English although best to get there about 9.30am.
The apartment were lovely and especially clean. We had Cloudia as our cleaner and she was extremely thorough. Toilet rolls and tea towels are provided along with towels and sheets. Air conditioning needs to be played around with to get to a happy level! There is no oven so if you intend to do cooking in it is a bit difficult but ok for basics. Take the electric key off the ring and leave it plugged in for all day electric!!
Entertainment was ok, staff work huge hours but were still going up to 11.30pm. It was repetitive daily but the kids loved it. The three acts they brought in were brilliant and have to boast all English!!
The hotel is situated all on its own at the end of a road, to walk to the centre takes about 10 to 15 minutes and i must say is hard work for the kids in the heat, a shuttle would make the holiday excellent.
Our apartment was in block A which is around the pool however block B and C are elsewhere and quieter, we sent the hotel an e'mail asking to be next to the pool and they were very accommodating.

We only had 1 meal at the restaurant which was good (not excellent) and we had breakfast twice which was very good value for money (6 euros for an all you can eat).
The location of Sea Club was at the end of a road and in a quite place, also it was about 10 to 15 mins walk to Cala n Forcat centre.
The staff and cleaners were excellent, very happy and if you had any trouble with your apartment then the staff at reception were very happy to help and would sort something out straight away and the reception is 24 hours which is a good thing.
The entertainment in the afternoon was for everyone and then in the evening it was mainly aimed at the chlidren, the entertainers worked 24/7 out of all the entertainers Danni was the best she was always happy and dancing also there is 3 clubs for the children but you had to write down the child's name if you wanted them to go in the kids club (Sylvester and Taz clubs).

| said: Returned home last week from the Menorca Sea Club Apartments. Fifth time now, this place is fantastic & have already re-booked for next year. As soon as you walk up to the entrance, you relax. It's safe, the views out to sea are fantastic as are the sunsets. The restaurant down stairs is really good value as is the entertainment as the First Choice staff really do work hard. That said the hotel staff are spot on! Emma at reception seems to make our holiday each year. She is a hive of information. Horse riding, fiestas, places of interest and great with the kids too. The pools are well maintained with the little man checking all is ok early every morning without fail., rooms are clean and have air con, plenty of sheets, towels & even tea towels. I was never one for returning to the same place each year but the Menorca Sea Club Apartments have changed that for me & my family who all love the place. There is a bit of a walk to the main shops and bar’s but nothing to strenuous, that will help keep the pounds off, as the food in the resort is great too. There are no bad points I have been able to identify with the Menorca Sea Club Apartments except when it is time to leave for home! Still you have got to leave so you can look forward to coming back again……..

Rooms were clean with lots of clean, soft sheets and towels. We were even left tea towels. Kitchen basic with no kettle (You could hire one) but kitchen does has a microwave.
Pizza's are tasty and good value.
Hotel is a 10/15 min walk from centre but does mean hotel is free from traffic/music noise.
Hotel staff excellent and extremely hard working.
Entertainment. What can I say, 13 First Choice staff looking after 148 apartments. They were all professional, caring and great fun. Thank you.
Would we visit again? Maybe but just for a week.

There are things to do for everyone from sangria to nail painting, football, ps2 contests. dartspool fun and so much more I loved every minute. Wave length was brilliant 9-15 years old the 2 reps of that Lauren and Selina were wicked if you were older they treated you like adults. I don't think any one could do there job better than they did. The night entertainment was absoloutely fab !! Oscar night school of rock, circus dancin they were all amazing.
The pool facilities were top, 3 pools and splash park I loved it. The shops down in the town were really good and if your not one for exploring then dont worry becasue just sit back and relax and let your kids have fun !!
I thought this was going to be to childish but I was wrong - far from it.
I would definitley come back here again I came back today and was sad to leave great friends and if I could I would go back tomorrow.

| said: NEVER AGAIN!!
I've been meaning to write this for months, & now reading the other reviews I wonder if we stayed in the same place - though sadly we did.
Room & Cleanliness -
We love holidays, we're not snobs & we like a good laugh but we hated this place....we arrived in the middle of the night (I think it was about an hour & a half from the airport). We were given a room in Block B (90 something, poss 99). On opening the door I almost baulked at the musty smell that hit us. Getting inside, the room was dark & a lot narrower than the brochure pictures have depicted. I'm no Mrs Mop but I do like places to be clean but this just felt horrible & dirty. We tried to relax but over the next couple of hours we killed over 20 flies in the room.
We decided to give it a chance in the daylight & when we woke up we were pleased to see the lovely sea view, blue skies & we were directly opposite the kids club & playground. However it still stunk. I had not been able to sleep all night as the sheets had felt wet but thought it might just be that they were cold from the window having being open when we arrived.
The next night was sleep free again, the sheets really were damp & freezing. The sofas, which would have doubled up as beds if there had been more of us, stunk to high heaven and we both felt sick from it. We'd invited neighbours to see if we were imagining it but they didn't even get past the door without turning around & going back. Safe in the knowledge we weren't going mad, we complained at reception & asked to be moved. At first they tried to fob us off by sending a cleaner round with some air freshener but eventually 2 people in suits turned up, looked around, felt the sheets & beds, agreed they were damp & moved us. Hoorah!! They weren't overly happy about having to do it but they did it without fuss & all very professionally.
We were moved about 6 doors down to a similar but much better room. It was wider & brighter & didn't stink! Finally we relaxed.
Later that night another unsuspecting party with a middle of the night arrival were given the keys to the smelly room, and the next day they were moved too. And then another family arrived....& on it went.
Food -
We were S/C. There was a restaurant on site which we used & thought was nice - although my hubby was mortified to receive Heinz Spaghetti in a dish when he ordered Spag Bol. You could use this for take-aways which was handy on the one day of horrendous weather we had.
Shop -
Supermarket on site was a bit sparse so didn't really use it. There's a great one a couple of minutes walk away. Much bigger & a really nice woman runs it who is very helpful about the area, & speaks great english.
Staff & entertainment -
The hotel staff were lovely & helpful and couldn't be faulted. The First Choice staff seemed nice enough, though we didn't see much of them really once we'd escaped their clutches at the welcome meeting. Our rep never seemed to be there so we dealt directly with Reception for any queries & they were great.
The was one annoying male rep who thought he was God's gift, can't remember his name. He gave us the cold shoulder after we declined to buy all the trips at the welcome meeting, but that suited us fine. The other reps seemed fine & worked really long hours. The entertainment was a bit poor & ended quite early but this was probably a blessing for those in Block A who were practically on top of the stage.
Location & resort -
Hotel is on a clifftop. Lovely view with a quiet road between you & a sheer drop. I imagine some daredevil teens would have a field day with games of truth or dare here, so keep an eye on them.
It's about 5 mins walk until civilisation, maybe a bit less. The centre of Cala N Forcat is probably 10mins walk but it's a nice walk with shops, bars & restaurants along the way. It's very kid friendly, highchairs in every eating establishment & all the waiters make a fuss of the kids. Playgrounds & 50p rides everywhere. Everyone here has kids with them, don't go if you're a young couple without kids wanting to lie on the beach all day & hit the highspots at night cause you're in the wrong place.
Before I went someone described Cala N Forcat to me as Blackpool. If you've only ever been to Menorca then that's possibly true in comparison to the other resorts, but clearly they've never been to San Antonio, Lloret de Mar, Benidorm...or even Blackpool??
There's no particular beach here, it's tiny & really difficult to get to - especially with a pram!
Overall -
Overall, the hotel facilities were good for kids - pool, playground, kids club. The staff were nice, the resort good, the other guests fine. I can see why some people might refer to this as a Butlins in the sun, but it's in a nice way. It was mostly Northerners, Scottish, Welsh & Irish when we were there. All friendly to each other & wanting a good time with a dash of chav mixed in - perfect for us, but if that's not what you're looking for then go somewhere else.
We were there 2 weeks (you need to hire a car for at least a few days or you'll go insane) & although things got better after we moved rooms, we couldn't wait to get home. The maid's idea of cleaning was walking the mop through the centre of the room & spraying some air freshener & the musty smell was reappearing. 10 days would have been enough, I couldn't wait to get home & get a bath & wash our clothes properly.
Would we go back? -
We would go back to the resort but nowhere near these apartments again. I'm even dubious about First Choice now, if that's what they class as 4 star accommodation. We weren't the only ones who thought this, we heard many people complaining & getting moved from their rooms. We heard lots of 'you call this 4 star?' comments at reception and people saying it was dirty & they'd never go back. Maybe those people don't bother to write reviews though - maybe we're the minority, as so many other people seem happy there, so I can only say take your chances & make your own mind up.

We never ate at the hotel due to reading some dubious reports about the food.
The staff were all pleasant and very helpful. The hotel reps were great my 3 year old daughter and 9 year old sister had a great time. Evening entertainment was good this included bingo, quizzes, shows and the kids disco so there was something to suit kids and adults

The rooms were nice and clean and the welcome pack was excellent.
Hotel staff were helpful and friendly.
Can,t really comment on the entertainment we spent out in the resort.
The resort is excellent for familes with plenty of resturants and a good water park.
The only downside to the hotel was that the main pool seemed abit to small for the amount of holiday makers there.
Apart from that a good holiday and would use hotel again.

Complex layout was good. Pools were fine. Location of restaurant was bad (downstairs at the back)
Only ate in the restaurant once (which was enough - food was OK but un-impressive)
Entertainment varied from rubbish to reasonable. (It was 'good' once out of 2 weeks) The 'British-pub-games-night' should be dropped as should the karaoke night.
Place was friendly ... over 80% English, mostly family's with kids. (In fact, if you don't have kids, don't come here.) Some Irish, and Welsh also. (Be sure to bring your county colours, that's how the Irish spot each-other.)
p.s. Prices of day-to-day stuff were outrageous. e.g. packet of walkers crisps 1.60 Ice cream - 2.00
loaf of rubbish bread - over 2.00 packet of cream crackers - 2.00)

The maid came in to clean every day with fresh towels and bedding was changed every third day. They were very pleasant and always spoke to us.
The food was excellent both during the day when they served snacks and the restaurant in the evening was excellent value and nothing was too much trouble to anyone.
The entertainers were brill and put in long hours to make our holiday enjoyable. Racy Tracy, Krazy Kelly Maria, Loopy Leanne and Cool Christian made our holiday complete.
We had our teenage (16) son with us who thoroughly enjoyed himself as he met similar teens and especially Cool Christian included him in everything -even Kids mini disco which he joined in willingly.
We would certainly go back again!!

| said: Just got back from my fantastic holiday at the Menorca Sea Club Apartments. I thought that the hotel was very clean at the maid had come in to clean our room at least 5 days a week which is ok.
I thought the food was very tasty and good price but the only problem is the food was self catering if it had been all inclusive then that would have made the holiday better.
Also I think it is very dangerous with the hotel been on the edge of a cliff this would lead to danger if a family that had visited this hotel, had a child (at the age of a toddler).
I also think the hotel are very pleasent and willing to help you with anything. On the other hand I thought the entertainment was exellent beacause of the shows that had been put on.
I thought the reps: crazy kelly maria, racey tracey, cool christian, leanne were all fantastic and very good entertainment and don't forget the wavelength reps maz & katie they were very kind and good people to talk to.
I thought this hotel overall was absoloutley fantastic and wish to visit again!

The cleaners coming when they feel like it and not cleaning! Entertainment - a satellite tv with 2 english channels and 3rd that worked for 2 minutes at a time - the happy shopper, social club, karaoke to me - to you entertainment of an evening aimed at the mentally infirm with a hi de hi during the day. How annoying!
Would never venture within a 20 mile radius of this establishment again.

| said: Having been to this resort before we thought it would be nice to visit again, it was the first time we had been to the Menorca sea club and were all looking forward to it, however it turned out to be like Butlins in the sun, it was as if we were on a council estate in Scotland the only things missing were a burnt out Ford Escort and Rab C Nesbitt walking through drunk!
The place was run alive with kids of all ages, that were fighting and swearing all the time, it was not ideal for young children, and when you said anything to any of them they would call their parents who would want a row and a fight.
The entertainers did try hard but were very very bad at their jobs and the singing was like the auditions on the X Factor...
The rooms were ok kept very clean, and the towels were changed most days so no complaints there.
The island has become very expensive because of the Euro and would advise anyone to take plenty of extra money, as we were told that everyone was spending too much and were asking for cash on their credit cards.
So overall I would not recommend the hotel or resort and would advise to look at other resorts on the island.

Arc Splash Park great for kids and third pool great with shallow end for toddlers.
Supermarket expensive on site, go to supermarket near Oasis Apartments only 5min walk.
Food on complex not to bad. I found the luchtime menu better than the evening. Lots of bars and restur. to chose from in cala n forcat. If you have some children visit the Whale park they can play all evening for 2.50 euros and a free ice cream.

| said: This is a very belated review, but hope it helps anyway!
I notice there are a lot of comments about the cliffs and I have to say before we went this was a concern, however in my view (and I hate cliff edges and heights!!) they really aren't a problem. OK there aren't locking gates but you do have to cross the road and scramble across a fair amount of rock before you stand even a remote chance of falling off them. This is just a personal opinion but the cliffs are only an issue if you can't trust your kids to do as they are told and stay on the complex.
We had also stayed at the Tirant Playa which is part of the same group and very similar and we enjoyed both. Our view from our apartment at the sea club was nothing less than stunning.
The towel game is in full force and you have to join in if you want a bed in the shade, however there were usually beds to be had at anytime but umbrellas were just in short supply.
The restaurants we thought were pretty good, OK not a la carte but good value and perfectly acceptable if you didn't fancy the hike into town.
The staff were all friendly and even wrote a letter for our youngest from the Spanish tooth fairy, which really was lovely.
I guess everyone wants something different from a holiday, but what you get here is a lovely location, basic but adequate apartments, close enough to town but far enough away to be peaceful.
If you are after a pool based holiday, a great location.

| said: On arriving at reception all looked well. Views overlooking the sea, three pools, entertainment area etc. After we were given the key to our two bedroom apartment things went downhill! The apartment was in a corner, most of the other apartments had more space and in a nicer position. All the balconies were joined so there was no privacy whatsoever. The apartment's two bedrooms were spacious but there was a smell in the bathroom all the time no matter how much we cleaned it. The floors were all hairs and the chairs upholstery filthy. Maids only came every three days. The best thing about the apartment was the air conditioning.
The bar staff were friendly and on site restaurant quite nice but expensive. The walk into the main
resort each night was very trying with four kids!
The entertainment was very average but the kids enjoyed the nightly dances to end the evening. Natalie, the enterainment manager was excellent, a real asset to the team and Rachel and Trevor in Wavelength Club (9-15) also excellent.
This was our second visit to Menorca and it is a lovely island but the Sea Club Apartments were at best 2 star in our opinion and we certainly would not recommend them.

| said: My family have been visiting the Sea club since it opened and although they had teething troubles at first , the complex is now a great place to stay either for couples or families with children, the only thing that botheres me is that if you had small children i would be scared if the wondered off as the hotel is situated on the cliffs.
The rooms are tastefuly decorated and have adeqaute facilities, the satalitle TV was a dissapointment as we could only get the news or spanish channels.
The pizza place was nice and everything you want is within walking distance.
There are some nice places to eat nearby and some nice bars too.
The staff at the Sea club were very helpful and the entertainment was ok.
The main pool is lovely and clean and has perfect views. The whole island is a joy to visit and car hire is widly available. The markets in Mahon are very good.
I would reccomend this holiday and will be going back soon.

| said: The apartments were good although we needed to clean the fridge and the chairs were covered in crumbs. The pools were great and really clean and the food was good quality and value. Reception and waiting staff were excellent and keen to help at all times. First Choice staff (Reps) were brilliant. Although we didn't use the kid's club - allbeing adults - they all made an effort to be friendly and welcoming throughout our stay.

| said: Just got back yesterday and we all loved it. Rooms were lovely with the most fantastic view of the sea you could ever wish for. The room was cleaned on a regular basis with clean towels every couple of days. The walk into the Town centre took about ten minutes, and what a lovely town. The Hotel staff were very pleasant and the entertainment reps were excellent. We can't wait to go again.

| said: has a family of 4 we have returned from a weeks holiday in the sea club having had a great time,
We were lucky that our kids were not too young the position of the hotel in front of a road then about 20m of rock then a steep sheer drop to the sea was a worry with no barriers in place.
also position from town was a 15min walk.
we only had the room cleaned once and were left a change of bedding outside, also more regular towel change could be happening.
we had a couple of meals downstairs in the pizzeria a little slow service but the food was very good(PIZZAS)
entertainment during the day various kid clubs going on.as for the adults the water polo was tops everyone having a laugh,a bit of footie after the kids in the afternoon.
evening entertainment excellent efforts from Nat, Kelly,Ami and Lucy helped make this a great time the kids loved it all.
on the whole we went to chill with no hassles and acheived that thanks to the entertainers.
sunsets were v good on clear evenings, good views overlooking the sea.

| said: Brilliant time had by all. Lovely location, just on the outskirts of Cala Forcat, 10 min easy walk. Lovely views over the Med - over to Majorca on clear days. Quiet location, great pools, apartments small but cleaned regularly. Restaurants fine - pizzeria ok, service excellent and polite in both. Apartments have fridge, small freezer, microwave, toaster - quite adequately equipped. Full marks with the air conditioning and fan!!! Bliss in the heat! Kids clubs great - so much on all day - kid could hardly keep up with all the activities - good complaint eh? Entertainment very child-focused but thats ok - its Menorca which is the most child friendly place we know!! Reception excellent - very helpful courteous staff. Hired car (good rates from reception) and toured for 3 wonderful days all the beaches and places we could visit. We loved every second of our visit here. Wish we were there!!!!

| said: The hotel was great right next to the cliffs and a great view over the sea.
The 3 pools were really good plenty of sunbeds, no putting out towels at the crack of dawn.
Cleaners came in once every 2-3 days changed beds and towels but did not sweep floor.
Self catering equipment great, sharp knives, microwave, plenty of pots and pans.
fans and air conditioning in every room.
entertaining reps great especially kelly, lloyd and rachel. although the entertainment was pretty rubbish but what do you expect.
if you have young children about 1-3 the balconies are shared and dont have gates so children can wander even if you are in an upstairs or downstairs room. the swimming pool is close and so are the cliffs

| said: We found the Menorca Sea Club Apartments lovely. Most of them have a sea view and we were in a quiet corner away from all the children's activities. There are 3 pools, the largest being very clean and inviting. There is about a 10 minute walk into Cala N Forcat but as someone with osteo arthritis in one knee, I didn't find it very troublesome. There is a supermarket and restaurant/bar on the complex, both are reasonably priced, but slightly dearer than the facilities in the town.
As a middle aged couple we were pleased to be in a quiet position away from the main action, but thought that it was terrific for families with children. There were certainly enough activities for everyone. The main adult entertainment began at 10pm which was fine, but one night there was a comedienne telling fairly blue jokes and there were still children watching.
We had a slight problem with our electrics, but this was rectified immediately, and also the fridge played up, but a man was sent straight away to fix it. The apartment itself was well appointed, but our main gripe was that we didn't have a bread/chopping board - although our neighbours did, but we had a tin opener and they didn't!!
All in all, we were very impressed with the complex and would highly recommend it.
