| said: A party of 8 of us stayed at this hotel at the end of March beginning of April.
All seemed to be going well until 4 of us were struck down with salmonella poisoning. Many people were hospitilised and even more were bedridden just waiting to get home. On our return we have learned of many many more guests who have all been confirmed as having salmonella on their return to the UK. No help in resort from Thomas Cook reps and even worse from Thomas Cooks aftercare.
Please if you are travelling to this hotel especially with young children check on the current situation, although I can already tell you that Thomas Cook will tell you it is safe.

| said: This is the largest hotel we've ever stayed in, but it is so well set up that you would never realise the size.
The small blocks of rooms are split up within a small pine forest. Do have a wander around, we found another pool and bar/restaurant on our second day. The place is certainly well kept, they are always sweeping up in the buildings.
Our room we thought was a little small, but in reality it was more than sufficient. The taps were another thing indeed. Let's just say that, if you wanted, the shower could give you a colonic irrigation. As you can imagine, the water pressure wasn't a problem, and there was always hot water available.
Beware in the Turkish bath area, some fellow rugby fans(see below) had an accident and slipped in there. It ended up with a trip to hospital and a scan at huge expense.
Food ? Well we managed to find something to eat whenever we used the buffet (every meal except twice), and it was delicious. Went to the Chinese one evening, it was good, but there was little choice on the menu. Heard it was similar at the other a-la-carte's, so went back to the buffet.
The hotel itself is beyond Side, on the way to Alanya, right next door to Hotel Turquise. It cost 1.5TL on the dolmus an 12TL by taxi to get into Side.
Due to our poor planning, we had to find somewhere to watch the European Cup semi-final on tv. The rep Louise came up trumps and found a bar, bless her.
Afraid we never saw the night time show, or the pool animation team. We tended to stay around the quiet pool, just through from reception. English bar was also our favourite. Another warning, the 'juice' isn't, it's cordial. You can buy 100% juice in the shop or in Side, but it isn't cheap.
Would we go there again ? If we could fly during the day (we flew from East Midland at night), we'd be there in a heartbeat. Our best short-haul hotel, ever.

| said: We enjoyed our two weeks at the Club Voyage Sorgun Select. The hotel was exceptionally clean. the food was well prepared in the buffet (no tales of Turkey Tummy)the choice in the buffet was slightly limited in the hot food but a good variety of salads etc. Turkish pide worth a try. I tried quale for the first time. one of our party was vegetarian and was more than happy with the food. seven a la carte restaurants to choose from, we tried and enjoyed them all. we had fun trying to teach Engin one of the waiters some English, but not as much as he had trying to teach us Turkish. do try a few words they really appreciate it.
The hotel is a 7 euro taxi ride from the centre but you can walk it along the beach in about 30-40 minutes, or get the Dolmus for 1 1/2 euro.
The hotel is set in a conservation area in a pine forest and very attractive.
staff are a mixed bunch, most speak little English but those that do are very helpful. Customer services sorted a number of minor issues very efficiently for us.
did not get involved in activities, lota going on, and children seemed to be well catered for. Evening entertainment again mixed some we liked some we didn't, but always well supported.
you could spend the whole of your holiday on site ,but worth getting out into Side town try the Ottoman restaurant Rasim is an excellent host and remembered us from a previous visit four years earlier. Will even pick you up from the hotel in courtesy minibus at no charge. (featured in Lonely Planet Guide book)
If you only do one day trip try the P.A.K. (Perga Aspendos and Kursunlu) trip amazing and not too tiring.

The hotel was very clean and I did not see one bit of litter on the floor. The maids were excellent and always cleaned the room to the highest standard they could possible give.
The staff were very friendly and even though they did not speak so much English they still understand every word and always replied politely.
The entertainment was great they always made you laugh and made sure that you was having a good time.
Me and my family have now booked to come back to the club voyage sorgun select and I can't wait to come back in September.

| said: This hotel is set in woodland on the beach, it is kept spotlessly clean and is a very stylish hotel.
We managed to eat at all of the a la carte restaurants, although the system will not let you book for the day you check out. The Chinese and Mexican were our favourites but they were all very good and it was more relaxing being served. The food in the self service buffets was also very good we never had a problem getting a seat where we wanted to sit and the food was always hot varied and well presented. The fried eggs cooked to order outside were lovely, and the cakes were a work of art.
The pool and beach areas were fantastic, there were plenty of sunbeds available in all areas.
We never really took part in many of the organised activities, I tried step and belly dancing and the instructors were professional and the classes were challenging! I saw the people assembling for the mountain bike ride and they were all properly dressed in Lycra and crash helmets for some serious riding and I understand they covered 30k out and 30 back uphill taking 41/2 hours, all properly supervised. I believe you could also go on shorter rides though.
I had a Turkish bath peel facial and massage at the hotel spa, this cost 45€ OR £33 It was worth the money. It would have been cheaper outside the hotel but the hotel was too nice to leave we never felt we wanted to go out.
This hotel uses Euro as its currency, when we paid to hire the safe it was converted from Euro to Turkish Lira 3€ per night plus 10€ deposit, although I paid in TL my deposit was returned in Euros and the shop and spa were priced in Euro but I paid my massage in sterling and they would have accepted cc.

| said: Our stay at the Club Voyage Sorgun Select near Side was a most amazing week in many ways.
Our room was spotlessly clean and contemporary and although we did not have a sea view we were tucked away in a quiet corner which suited us very well.
The food was fantastic and we managed to eat at 6 of the a la carte restaurants. The Turkish and Fish restaurants were our favourites but all were very good and it was nice to be served. The buffet was wonderful and we never had trouble finding somewhere to sit but we did not mind sharing.
The German and Russian people we met were lovely and the entertainment staff did everything they could to include everyone. They were good all rounders - sport, dancing, comedy.
The escorted mountain bike trips were to us a bonus - we were shown a lot of the local area and our guide was brilliant. We are fit and good walkers so we did not mind the spacious site - there was always somewhere else to go to and plenty to watch or get involved in.
A brilliant hotel and we would definitely go back.

Hotel was superb - wonderful location, food and accomodation. The only downside was Thomas Cook - never again.

Great location a lovely walk to side via the beach.

Entertainment geared up for the Germans.
Would like to return one day.

The place was spotless we never saw a piece of litter or overflowing bin. The staff were pleasant despite communication problems.
Try and speak a little Turkish and the staff will love you for it. Otherwise German is the language of choice there as the majority of guests are from there or Russia. Nice to have a more cosmopolitan mix than the usual Brits on holiday brigade.
The food in the buffet was very good, never seen so much choice. Could have been a bit hotter. The a la carte restaurants were great if you manage to get in. You can only book on the day you want to eat, not in advance. Which means ringing an automated service . from 10 to 2pm and even if you dial on the dot it is often engaged for ages then booked up.
We dined in the French and Turkish restaurants. Turkish was one of the best meals I had eaten ever. As it was the beginning of the season not all a la cartes were in operation.
The room was very modern and well maintained but the only down side was that we had no sun on our balcony. No chance of hanging out your smalls!
The location was excellent, right on the beach with transport outside costing 1 euro to Side town. If you need to ring the UK from your holiday...DONT use the hotel phones. A mobile on international rate is far cheaper would you believe.

| said: Hotel in very beautiful grounds very clean, rooms are modern and very clean although some can be quite a walk from pools and beach. We stayed in a sea view villa which was a brilliant location.
The food in main restaurant was mostly cold and we did have problems getting a table. Although the A la Carte restaurants were excellent but book them as soon as possible (9am when phones open).
Pools were very clean although ice cold in October (sea warmer).
No entertainment at all for English guests, as it was all in German. Beach bar disco was very good and bar people gave excellent service.
Alot of the staff ignore you preferring to help German clients who make up 95% of clients. I would say that guest relations and reception are hopeless. If you want to be ignored whilst German speaking tourists are catered to, then this is the hotel for you. We have no problems with any nationality but really did not feel welcome at this hotel, our English decorum and patience were sorely tested.
