We have just returned from a weeks stay at this hotel and I can honestly say it is fantastic - we enjoyed every minute.

We booked half board, but on arrival we were offerred the chance to upgrade to all inclusive which can either be the drinks package at 17 Euro per person per day or 24 Euro ppd for lunch and snacks as well. This was well worth it as you can spend a great deal of money on soft drinks alone during the day as it is so hot!

The hotel is spotlessly clean and the room was fine with nice views over the pool and sea.

The food was out of this world. Everything you could think of for breakfast. Omlettes of your choice were cooked to order.

Lunch was set in a lovely outdoor taverna overlooking the sparkling sea.

The evening meal was superb every night with a great choice of Greek dishes as well. As an added bonus you can dine once per stay free of charge in the A La Carte restaurant in the hotel which made the night extra special.

The hotel staff were very friendly and obliging. The Thomson entertainment team were excellent also. The evening entertainment was standard - the type you get anywhere in the Med.

The downside to this hotel is that it really is in the middle of nowhere - although you may see this as a plus if you want a get away from it all relaxing time. It cost about 15 Euro in taxi into Paphos and buses are regular and cheap.

The beach is a let down and can hardly be called a 'golden beach' it is just a little scrap of pebbly sand. However this did not bother us as the pool is lovely with sunbeds aroud the pool and on the grassed areas.

We will definately be returning to this hotel in the near future.

The hotel is not awful, but it is not 4T+. If you are expecting a wonderful beach you will be disappointed – apparently the beach got washed away. The food is OK if you like soup and roasts, but other things often cheap cuts (chicken wings etc) and dried up – especially at lunch buffet. Drinks service is good with waiter service, but all inclusive drinks are all local drinks. The house wine is mostly awful. Paid significant amount extra for a superior room and very disappointed. Tiny, shabby, mouldy, unventilated bathroom; stained carpet in dated room; small unlit balcony that when sitting has very restricted view due to 6 inches wide bar. Corridor outside bedroom is badly lit with a shabby, dirty carpet. Entertainment, with just a couple of exceptions, is a combination of juvenile (competitions and prize giving every night!) and singers. The Thomson Gold staff are professional, but the material they deliver is more suited to a Butlins audience.

Have complained to Thomson who ignoring the issues I raised, kindly advised me that the hotel scores well in Customer Satisfaction Questionnaires!

The staff at this hotel were excellent and could not do enough to help you. The food was excellent with a huge choice of dishes to choose from.
The rooms were quite adequate but the bathroom could have done with a re-furb. The hotel is situated a few miles north of Paphos but the bus service is very good and we never waited more than 15 minutes for a bus.
It costs the same 80c if you travel 1 mile or 20! It takes about 15 minutes to get to Paphos harbour by bus. Beware of ticket touts in Paphos we were
approached several times by people on scooters and on foot with promotional tickets to try and get you back to their headquaters and sell you dodgy timeshares and holiday clubs!
The entertainment at the hotel finished about midnight and this could be heard clearly fronm the room as the show area is only tiny so the doors are left open so people can hear it sitting outside.
The air con was turned off on the 1st of November as this was officially the winter season but the temperature was 27c during the day!
So it was very warm trying to sleep at night!
All in all a good hotel in a quiet area.

On arrival hotel was lovely and clean . However when we checked into our room it smelt of smoke and looked tired . Indeed much of the hotel looked tired .
Our biggest disappointment was the food . We expected this to be good , but found it to be very average .
Overall felt hotel fell short of standard expected from a Thompson Gold hotel .

Lovely hotel, good food but there could be more choice although the quality was excellent.

Staff and service was first class.

We paid for a superior room but the bathroom was very small and poorly lit. Although we were AI in a superior room we had to pay extra for safety deposit box and use of the fridge in our room, this has not been our experience in previous hotels eg Riu etc.

Overall we had a very enjoyable holiday.

We went to the Atlantica for New Year and had a fantastic time.

We have been on Thomson gold before in Cala D’or on 3 holidays and were hoping for a hotel to convert us once again to the gold hotels. We were delighted. The hotel itself was lovely, spotless and with beautiful surroundings, the views were so peaceful.

The pool and grass areas were very clean and well maintained, all sun beds etc were plentiful and even though the weather was not at its warmest there seemed to be plenty to go around, the hotel was full and there were plenty of guests looking for some sun. I think in the summer months there are plenty of areas to sit and even though the beach is small my friend and I felt like Shirley valentine sitting on the rocks watching the sun go down while the men sat in the bar; it is a beautiful spot for ultimate relaxation. we were a bit worried regarding the Greece toilet issue but the cleanliness was outstanding even in any bar/restaurant in the resort itself, far superior to Spain etc.

The hotel food was plentiful, great choice and the restaurant staffs were outstanding, so helpful great service and George the manager was such a laugh, giving all guests the personal touch, you were made to feel he had a special relationship with you. All the staff were so friendly and not in a false way to obtain a tip. They were genuinely happy to have you there. Julie at reception and Monika the young girl in the bar were outstanding. as always, the Thomson entertainment was as saga and cheesy as ever, we say this not in a bad way as it was expected but previously we have stayed in another gold hotel that was stuffy and snobby and we were very worried. We need not have worried as the Thomson staffs were outstanding, very unusual for us to say this as previously we have found the staff at other resorts to be stand offish, rude and patronising to Scots.

The Thomson team at the Atlantica were lovely, and even though we didn't need any advice, help or book any trips they went out of their way every day to talk and have a laugh with you. Liam and the entertainment girls, Caroline etc were so funny and changed our perception of the entertainment even though we didn't participate in the daily darts and boules.

The location is maybe not suitable to all but the bus service is good right outside the hotel, we never usually use buses but had no problem at all, the taxis back from town if you are loaded with shopping (there is a Debenhams and M & S ladies) or beer intake are cheap so the location is not an issue at all, although a lot of guests will like to just walk from hotel to resort, but there are some things you have to sacrifice for a great accommodation.

All in all please visit this hotel, leave your saga ideas at the door and let your hair down, join in the fun.

We stayed in the Atlantica Golden Beach Hotel for 1 week in November. We travelled with another couple and had a great week - even though the weather wasn't fantastic. We were All Inclusive - booked before we went - and it was well worth it. At this time of year all meals were served in the restaurant, but it was a good size, nicely decorated and always clean. There was always plenty of choice of food - probably too much as we all came home slightly heavier. The drinks on the All Inclusive were also very good - even though it was all local spirits/beers/wines, you really couldn't tell any difference and we sampled them all!

Even though the hotel is outside of Paphos, there are 2 supermarkets within a short walking distance and also a couple of restaurants. However, because the food was so good in the hotel, we never needed to venture out. There is also a good bus service which runs in both directions and taxis were reasonable as well.

When we arrived the summer entertainers were finishing and mid week the new winter entertainers took over. Didn't really think much of the summer entertainers - found them a bit patronising, but Liam, Adam and Sarah that took over were fantastic. We never laughed so much, as they were fun, friendly and down to earth.

The reps in the hotel were also very friendly and helpful. our boat trip was cancelled due to bad weather but they helped arrange a hire car immediately for us so we went of on our travels across the island. Well worth doing this as it's pretty easy to find your way around and there are plenty of places to visit. Just beware of the local drivers ( a bit mental)and the speed cameras.

We went out to the Atlantica Golden Beach to attend our sons wedding in Paphos. We had a bad start we had room 120, as we had paid supplement for a partial sea view room, but our room was overlooking waste ground and if you looked to the left there was a busy main road to coral bay and if you looked to the right the view of the sea was blocked by trees and a satellite dish.

as well as this the room had a big burn in the carpet and the beds where broken and the room smelt strongly of cigarettes, this was not what we had expected for a Thompson gold hotel and where very disappointed.

we reported this to reception and the beds were mended straight away we asked to move rooms but as the hotel was fully booked we had to stay in it for four days after which we moved to another room. The other room was a big improvement on 120 the hotel staff and the holiday reps Ellie and Shaunie are very helpful and friendly we would go as far to say that the staff at the Atlantica Golden Beach are the heart of the hotel.

food is wonderful and once a week they had gala meals with every food you can think of I love fresh fish and the salmon and tuna where my favourites. I do not like to sound negative because I believe each holiday is different and a holiday is what you make it.

On the subject of sun beds if you go when we went in September the hotel was busy and there was not enough sun beds for the amount of guests many people commented on this and found themselves having to get up 7am to reserve a sun bed which we British are not used to doing. It seems unfair to do that but if you did not you had no chance by 9am all beds had gone the pool did get a little crowded at times due to the volume of people staying there.

All in all though apart from room 120 and having to reserve a sun bed it was a comfortable and pleasant hotel. The food was outstanding as are the staff they did every thing in their power to make your stay a pleasant one. One more thing on our your last night the maids come round and present you with a couple of coconut sweets and a single red rose bud with a little message of thanks from the hotel which was a nice touch to the end of your holiday, and on departure some of the management team come to wave and see each and every coach off.

What can I say..... Fantastic! My boyfriend and I spent 11 nights at the Atlantica and loved every minute of it.

The hotel was immaculate and they could not do enough for you. The food was great, there was something different every day and we were never bored.

The staff were brilliant. George, the restaurant manager was great. My boyfriend was taken ill whist we were they (nothing to do with hotel, might I add!) and he even sent up little packed lunch boxes to him in the room. T

he entertainment was brilliant. Suzanne and Camille are the two entertainment reps and without them it would have not been the same. They certainly work hard for their money. The other guests in the hotel were very friendly and you could not ask for a nicer hotel or nicer people.

We would definitely recommend this hotel and are even thinking of going back again in October.

We upgraded to AI on arrival this cos us £12 per person per day but was a special offer we had booled half board. The food was excellent and even if you missed lunch you could still get such as burgers and spaghetti bolgnaise or village salad which were all classed as snacks. There was always plenty of choice of food whether Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner.

The staff were all very courteous and polite and freindly. We did not see much or the reps and I have to say that some things on the programme did not happen ! this did not bother us as we usually amuse ourselves but some customers were sat looking bored. I expect this would improve as the season progresses maybe not enough interest as the hotel seemed fairly full but not many on sunbeds maybe not warm enough ?

Our room overlooked the pool and the sea though we paid no room supplement. There was a gym and leisure club which we did not use there were Mountain bikes which you got a free use on AI and my husband took advantage of, there was a mention of canoes but there was no sign of these maybe too early in the season.

There was a good bus service 80c per journey one way to Coral Bay the other into Paphos either the harbour or further on to the town also going past Tomb of the Kings. The dreaded time share touts were much in evidence by the harbour !

We hired a car from across the road from the Hotel slightly cheaper than in the hotel it was a Toyota Yaris we went to Limassol and the ruins a Kourion and Amathus and Aphrodites rock, then on another day the Troodos mountains.

The weather was a bit cloudy but warm enough was 28c when we left at lunchtime on 15-04-06. Bit of a nightmare at the airport the luggage conveyor belt was not working and there were a lot of people crammed into a very small airport ! But all in all we had a great time.

We visited this hotel when we got married in paphos in October 2005. We stayed for 2 weeks and have never stayed in a Thomson Gold hotel before.

It was fab, staff, cleanliness, food, entertainment, was excellent!! Well worth the visit!!

The only thing that was bad (just a little) was the location, its set a little bit out from paphos harbour where all the shops and markets are, but it was easy just to hop on the bus to get there.

Everything you need is in the hotel. I would def consider going to this hotel again, it was fab!!!!

Me and my partner stayed here for our wedding Sep 2005, it was a fantastic hotel would recommend to anyone. It was clean and the staff were very friendly and made you feel very welcome. Its quite a "posh" hotel and we are not posh at all but they made you feel welcome none the less!

We upgraded to AI once arrived - def. cheaper than doing it before you get there. On our wedding night they sprinkled petals all over our room, gave us a bottle of champagne and generally treated us incredibly well.

The only downside is location, its in the middle of nowhere which is fine if you are looking for a lovely relaxed holiday there is a bus stop right outside the hotel.

We stayed at the Atlantica Golden Beach hotel on our honeymoon at the end of August beginning of September 2005. It was superb, that is the only word for it.

The hotel arranged a taxi transfer from the airport and it took about 30 minutes with a very friendly and chatty taxi driver who was waiting for us in arrivals and helped my wife with her baggage.

On arrival at the hotel we where met on the front steps by both a porter and a receptionist. The porter took out luggage straight from the boot of the taxi and the receptionist welcomed us and showed us up to a welcome reception room where they had laid on coffee, juice, cakes and pastries as well as much appreciated comfy chairs. There they explained everything we needed to know about the hotel, how the all inclusive worked and answered any questions we might have on a one to one basis; they also gave us a large envelope of hotel and local information including bus timetables. They then showed us, again on a one to one basis to our room.

We had a superior room with a full sea view which was well worth the money, uninterrupted views of the sea crashing over rocks from our balcony. As previously mentioned other rooms may look our away from the sea and onto a busy road. The room it self was of a decent size, massive Queen size double bed, cushioned wicker furniture, cushioned balcony furniture also, mini bar which was actually not unreasonable priced (or fridge for supplement), controllable air con (all though always on full in August) safe (chargeable), large double and lit wardrobe, beach and bathroom towels, robes, slippers, wine, fruit, flowers (all though did not last very long), as we where on honeymoon there had even sprinkled rose petals all over the room which was a nice touch. The room is also sound proofed for a settled night. You also have access to room service and a laundry service. Our room was also cleaned at least once a day, if we had a siesta it was made up again while we where at dinner. The bathroom was a reasonable size with a bath tub and very powerful always hot shower, many superior aromatherapy toiletries in the bathroom as well. The room was also equipped with tea and coffee making facilities, a TV with cable including BBC World and CNN and another foreign but English speaking channel, there was also Pay Movies, there was a good quality CD/Radio HiFi in our room as well.

The facilities in the hotel where also outstanding. The main lobby area is very impressive with its towering columns interesting art and very comfortable sofas. There is a reasonable gift shop in this lobby which sells the usual gifts, tea towels so on and also toilettes including sun cream, chocolate, sweets and crisps, inflatable sun beds, newspapers and magazines. There is also a broadband internet connected computer (50c for 15 minutes). There are two lifts as well. Just off the main lobby is a balcony area which looks over the pool and grass areas and into the open ocean. Connected to the lobby area is a bar which is very comfortable with deep sofas and the decoration of the room is very warm and sophisticated, great place to relax with a beer and a selection of snacks they offer here. It is, like the rest of the hotel, air conditioned so it’s a nice place to cool down. There is also a large screen TV here with Sky Sports usually showing.

The gym facility is also very good in a medium sized room which is very light and airy with some modern gym equipment. In this facility there is also a sauna (all though we didn't use), a massage service which is outstanding. The Jacuzzi inside (there is also one outside) has to be booked which makes it very nice for couples as nobody else can use it for the half an hour you have it for, they also use bath salts.

The two swimming pools are both outstanding. The inside pool is kept very clean and is good for doing lengths in, it is also light and airy thanks to the two large windows and patio doors. The outside pool is nice and is very large for the small size of the hotel, with its beach design (it slopes from a zero depth constantly to eventually be about 6 foot deep) it includes two waterfalls from the attached Jacuzzi the other from the stream that runs in front of the dining area. It is unheated and so a bit cold in a morning even in August but it heats up to be pleasant in the afternoon. There is also a pool bar here which not serves drinks but also ice creams. The All Inclusive cocktails are excellent and be careful they are extremely alcoholic. You can order from the bar or from the many the waiting staff that comes to you. There are lots of sun beds around the pool and reserving is not allowed until 9am (the management take away towels before then), although from what I saw this wasn’t a problem anyway. There are also sun beds on the three grassed areas which boast impressive palm trees as well and views of the open ocean. Say “hello” to the timid and sometimes large lizards.

The beach area is also very good, a reasonable size and very clean, the sea bed is a little stony with large rocks surrounding the bay which makes from excellent snorkelling, you can expect to see many colourful fish in the bay which is mostly used by hotel guests. There are also water-sports here including jet skis, parasailing, and canoes, the later of which is included in the all inclusive package.

The Beach Tavern is also another merit to this hotel, very friendly and chatty staff (be on the look out for the dry sense of humour!). Grapes growing above you in the outside seating area.

The food is the best part of this hotel; all three meals and the snacks in between are 5 star quality all the way. The breakfasts which are taken in the main buffet restaurant present you with a massive choice to large to list here in full but include pancakes with many different syrups, many different fruit juices, omelettes cooked to your liking, full English breakfast with eggs how you want them, a massive selection of fresh fruit, cold meats, and cheeses and the delicatessen counter that is available for dinner as well. The lunch is taken in the Beach Tavern and includes a BBQ of fresh meats and fish, you can try different salads every day ranging from typical Cypriot through to very English. There are cooked meats, steak and anything and everything you could ask for really cooked perfectly. Dinner (or tea if you are from the North East like me) is the best of the lot, again all of the above plus more, whole salmon, a Calvery with a different meat cooked every night, many Cypriot specialities on offer also. Seeing is believing. Even the snacks offered again by the beach tavern are very good, I ordered a cheese burger one day and got a slightly toasted bread bun with a home made thick beef pate which was spiced with herbs and a melted cheese slice, McDonalds it wasn’t!

The A La Carte restaurant offers you a four course candle lit meal which will surprise even the experienced diner. The food quality, taste and presentation are impeccable.

Getting around is no problem, directly outside the hotel (be careful of the busy road however) there is a bus stop where you can get the bus number 10 to the Paphos market or the 15 to the harbour area (the 10 also stops in the harbour area but only runs during the day). They cost around 75c, are air conditioned and run around every 15 to 20 minutes during the day (although once we did have to wait over an hour)

I would thoroughly recommend the Atlantica Golden Beach. While we where there was a few hiccups, they delivered somebody else’s wine and anniversary gifts to our room at one point, we ordered a champagne breakfast in our room (as part of the honeymoon package) told them my wife was vegetarian which they said was no problem, and yes a full meat breakfast turned up, they where extremely apologetic about this and also the laundry decided to destroy a pair of my trousers however they gave me the full cost of those without any hassle and again where genuinely apologetic. These minor problems did little to interrupt our honeymoon and we would not hesitate to visit this hotel again.

While we where there, the Atlantica Golden Beach became the highest scoring Thomson Gold hotel in the world. Well worth a visit!

We booked basis half board but took up the drinks option on arrival, cost about £ 9.50 each/day. This is a very good value for money option since the prices for drinks are expensive in the hotel and there is little alternative in the locality as the hotel is out on its own.

The food was of very good quality with plenty of choice even for veggies, with carved meats each night as well as choices of various meats and fish from the food bar. Vegetables were varied and nicely presented and always hot and fresh. Breakfasts were the usual offerings with all types of eggs, bacon, etc together with a wide choice of cereals and toast, jams, honey etc also cooked to order omelette's and pancakes.

On arrival you were immediately impressed with the opulence of the hotel with no indication anywhere of dirt, it was very clean and inviting.

The rooms are of reasonable size and well equipped with towels changed daily if required and bed linen 2/3 times/wk.

The hotel has a good sized pool which was very warm but the beach is small and very pebbly around the waters edge and was a little disappointing. There were plenty of sun-beds around the pool and beach area and are free.

The hotel staff were always going around asking if you needed anything, drinks etc, and brought them to your chosen place very quickly. The hotel staff were very efficient and friendly and could'nt have been more helpful, can't praise them enough.

The entertainment was very good and geared towards the more mature audience, not disco type but good, general all round entertainers, and all based on U.K. guests, there were very few other nationals in the hotel.

The only negative factor is the hotel location, it is out on its own with just the occasional restaurant/ bar within walking distance, although there is a very good and regular bus service into Pathos every 15 mins and only costs about 70 cents.

Overall a very nice place to stay for a relaxing holiday, only spoilt by the location, and is somewhere I would visit again.

We booked this holiday on an 'allocation on arrival' basis and were delighted to see the hotel we were staying in.
It is a Thomson Gold hotel and as such is for couples only - perfect for us! as we have no children and wanted a quiet break away from it all.

On arrival at the hotel we were met by the duty manager who, on taking our names, gave us an envelope with all the information we could possibly need for our stay. Our bags were brought to our rooms within 5 minutes of us arriving by the very friendly porter. We did not need to do anything - the hotel had a list of our names and room numbers and they did the rest!

The rooms were very clean and had complimentary toiletries.

The food was gorgeous and we were spoilt for choice every meal time. There was show cooking at every sitting so you could have your meal cooked as you waited. The waiters were brilliant, really friendly and very fast at clearing the tables. Luckily we were all inclusive so could eat and drink to our hearts content! On the one occasion we missed lunch we had a snack - there is a snack menu and it has plenty of choices on it - my partner chose pizza and was shocked when it arrived and was a full one.

The drinks, if you were paying are quite expensive, but there is the option once there to pay for a 'drinks inclusive' wristband - I think this was CYP£9.50 per day. On the all inclusive option all local drinks and cocktails were included.

The bar staff are brilliant - really friendly and always fast to take your order. You do not need to go to the bar, they will come to the table for your order. There are always nibbles provided as well.

As we were there until Christmas Day we were fortunate enough to experience the Christmas Eve gala meal - amazing... cocktails and canapés were provided in the lobby area. The meal itself was amazing - too many choices... beef, turkey, tiger prawns, too many to list.... an abundance of fresh fruit.... need I go on?

The only minus points about this hotel were the location - it is in the middle of nowhere. It is about 7km from the Harbour and 8km from Paphos centre, although the buses do run frequently and stop outside the hotel. Coral Bay is about 1.5km away.

I also found that as we went at Christmas there weren't many guests in our age group (30s) and feel that the evening entertainment was probably aimed at the older end with a duo performing nightly. We ended up spending most of our time in the bar with the big screen TV (oh dear!!)
