| said: We stayed here at the end of July 2008, the hotel and location is very impressive.
Hotel was clean and tidy, they had a lady coming and checking the standard of the cleaning each day.
I like everyone else read all the comments about this hotel before I went and ok it may not be a 5* to uk standards but do you really need a trouser press?
The rooms are a little small if like us you are a family of 2 adults and 2 kids. We were prepared for this as we had read all the reviews, as you don't spend that much time in your hotel it did not concern us that much.
Food was plentyfull and always a lot of choice, even for fussy eaters. We had our wedding reception here which was a dream come true. Petros the resturant manager was FANTASTIC, I could not say enough about him he was great.
Childrens enterainment was great my daughter had her 5th birthday whilst we where there and they organised her a birthday party, Big Lou was fantastic with the kids as where Sammy and Angie.
The only negative for us was the aircon in the resturant was a little poor, when you check out you cannot then use the all inclusive, if you have an evening flight and check out at 12 you cannot then eat or get drinks. So delay in checking out until the last minute.

| said: We had read several bad reports before going on holiday to this hotel and was very apprenhensive - we have just arrived back from one of the best hotel holidays we have had - the hotel was immaculate, room cleaned and beds made up every day - the staff were really friendly and tried very hard to please everyone - reception staff were most helpful with all queries and when we needed more towels due to not enough being left by the maid they were brought up to our room instantly. The daytime kids club was great for our 8 yr old son and even though he is very shy he joined in most of the games etc though he didnt want to join the night time entertainment for the children - the only negative points I would like to mention are 1. Not enough choice of food for children for the evening meal 2. There should be a kids club itinary so that you know if they need to be wearing shoes or sunhat etc for that session and 3. There are no pool depth markings
The entertainment at night in the hotel was very basic but watchable if you were all inclusive and the main stretch was busy but not that busy you could not get any seats to watch the constant shows available - if you like drag try the Sphinx or watch the comedy hypnotist
The hotel is directly on the beach and there were ample sunbeds to go around - though you may have had to go searching for the odd one that was not together but we never ever had no sunbed - lots around the pool area were taken up at the crack of dawn however they have them scattered around the gardens and the beach
The pool was always clean and they have a gardner that comes around every evening to tidy up and staff are constantly clearing any rubbish dropped on the floor
The only thing to watch out for is the weekend influx of locals on Sat/ Sun they come to their apartments and villas and bombade the hotel pool and beach though it is only for 2 days - at the time of leaving they were installing a barrier at the entrance of the hotel
The restuarant for evening meal was very impressive and the staff could not be more attentive to our needs - they all had a friendly face and always had a smile for you no matter whether it was 6.45am or 9.30pm in the evening and they had worked all day
We hired a car for 4 days at a local hire firm up the road and found that to travel across the island to Nicosia and Paphos took approx 3hrs to get there
The weather was extremely hot approx 40 degrees in the sun and 33 in the shade - you needed alot of suncream and watch the time of day if you had small children
We definately will come back to Cyprus again to Protaras and stay at this hotel because we really enjoyed it and the location it excellent
Ignore the bad reports - we had no probs at all and would recommend this hotel to any of our family and friends

| said: We arrived expecting 5* treatment which at best turned out to be 3*
Trying to get a drink from the waiters was like waiting to die of old age ..... in the end we gave up most nights and went direct to the bar ourselves (a stark contrast to the local bars who ask you if you would like another drink before you have reached the bottom of your glass)
The food was awful and we decided if we ever came back to this hotel (which is never going to happen) then we would bring our own hack-saw to cut the meat, vegetables and potatoes.
The best food was from the snack bar near the pool which had a good snack menu and the tuna pitta breads were lovely but we found out that because we were all inclusive we could not order these between 12 noon and 3pm because then we would have to pay !!!
The beds were made every day and there were fresh towels each day but the rooms and in particular the balcony area was never cleaned, a thick layer of dust lay on the railings on the balcony which I had to clean myself just to be able to hang the wet towels/washing on.
The location of this hotel is excellent, smack on the beach and a 2 minute walk to the shops, bars etc. but if you were unlucky enough to have a room above the service road then expect to be woken up very early every morning by the dustbin lorries, laundry lorries, grass cutting etc.
We gave up after a week and moved to the Vrissiana next door which was a much more modern hotel and the food was even edible !
Having said this Protaras was lovely, very lively with loads of bars and restaurants and we would return to this resort again but would go self catering as the choice of eating places is in abundance.

Breakfast was the usual sausages eggs bacon beans toms, although did enjoy the omelettes and pancakes which were made to order. Decent selection at lunch times and evening meals. My only real problem was with the serving staff who were at times arrogant and lazy to the point where our party stopped waiting for them to serve us drinks and went straight to the bar ourselves. It seems that nearly all of the staff are being replaced by eastern european workers with little or no customer service skills. I think this will turn alot of Holiday Makers away from this Hotel.

We had the choice of being moved on Full board to the vrissiana, with hindsight a move we should have made, Rooms are good but are not cleaned well. The staff lack motivation and training, what should be five stars is at best a good three.
Cracks are appearing in Mr & Mrs Tsokkos flagship hotel, some are real cracks too! Mr Tsokkos turned up twice at dinner and it was noticeable that he had a positive affect on his staff.
At other times you feel that you don't exist, If we stayed again I will take some blue tack, That will stop them whipping the plates away. As Cyprus hotels go it is one of the better ones, but keep your expectations low and you will STILL be disappointed.

Tsokkos who run the hotel are trying to fill the hotel next door so you will be offered an all inclusive deal. We stayed at Tsokkos' Vrissiana Hotel next door for one night and then made a fuss until we got a room at the Constantinos.
The Constantinos is at best a middle of the road 4* hotel and is looking tired with wallpaper hanging off walls on some floors.
Food is nothing special and waiting staff too keen to clear your plates away. One night our table, including drinks, was cleared and we had only got up to get our desert.
Excellent location on beach.
Entertainment always started late in the evening.

staff far too eager to remove your plates infact our teenage daughters made jokes saying they looked like sharks about to circle their next feed.
food diabolical, although we were all-inclusive our kids went to mcdonalds often!!
room very average, but hotel should be downgraded to a 3 star without doubt. a complete rip-off and we spent less money the previous year going to Jamaica.

We couldn't bear to eat dinner so we would swap it for lunch which became unbearable also. Many a times my plate was taken before I had even finshed my meal.
The rooms were cleaned daily but not to the standard of a 5 star hotel.
The hotel staff were nice and friendly.
The entertainment during the day was Ok around the pool and my son did enjoy the water polo but would have preferred a game for the children rather than the adults all the time. Would not go back to this hotel again.

This hotel should be down-graded to at best 3 star.
If you want a holiday in the Middle of Blackpool then go here. Outside of our window was a 100 Foot fairground ride, below our window was a sceptic tank which was emptied every other day at 6.30 am. Opposite our window was another Hotel which had noisy music blaring away until after 1am every night
The Hotel Air Conditioning is useless, if you are on the top floor prepare to scorch, warm air rises and because the floors do not have working Air Con it gets very Hot. The room Air Con does not cope with the heat which passes around the door frame.
The Room itself was clean and well furnished but very small, 3 people sharing without adequate storage space for clothes meant we lived out of our suitcases for 2 weeks. The beds where rock hard and had plastic sheets on which made you sweat and crackled ever time you turned over.
The bathroom was ok but could do with refurbishment. The tiles were dirty and cracked. And all of the room doors slam shut, so if you want a bit of piece and quiet during the day, forget it. The maids slam every door all day long.
Breakfast was fine if you like a fry up every morning, you had to queue for at least 15 minutes for a pancake or omelette and the coffee was terrible. We took to making our own using instant coffee as the coffee machines where useless. 3 Toasters for 1000 people is definitely not enough.
The Grounds are too small and if you are lucky or early enough to get a sun bed expect to be surrounded by people who are not staying in the Hotel and using the sun beds free of charge. We also saw Bar Staff serving children with alcohol in exchange for a small fee. Most evenings we had to avoid drunken teenagers hanging around the outside bar.
The Pool is too small for the size of the hotel and it was very dirty, the drainage gulleys around the edge are all broken and there are holes you can trap your feet in. We even saw local teenagers using the pool jumping from the Bridge over the pool and one morning saw a staff member fetching broken wood and nails out of the pool.
The beach however is excellent and a great way to escape the noise from the Hotel.
The Hotel is not very clean and there was quite a lot of damage which was caused by some of the guests, like ripped wallpaper, damaged light switches, burnt seats and the Carpet in the Dining Room had lifted in several places causing people to trip and spill food.
The Evening meals where atrocious, the choice of food was very limited and not well thought out, and became very repetitive. We noticed that some of the meals resembled left over food from breakfast i.e. cold bacon salads, cold boiled egg salads, and cold sausage salads. And the desserts are left on a table for people to cough and sneeze over instead of being under cover and the Ice Cream is not changed daily and we saw kids dipping dirty fingers in and hair floating on top of the vanilla ice cream.
The waiting staff are obsessive at dinner with plates being removed whilst you are still eating your last mouthful, and we found we where being rushed to leave which makes sense when you have a full hotel with a very inadequate dining room.
The entertainment throughout the day is appalling and at night it was a joke.
Overall this Holiday has spoiled our love of Cyprus, and we would never venture to Protarus again. The description in the first choice brochure says “Enjoying an excellent beachside location, this hotel lies in the friendly resort of Protaras. There are a good range of facilities on site, making this attractive accommodation ideal for those looking for a relaxed, beach-based holiday”
This is a lie; we have come back from this holiday exhausted from lack of sleep due to the noise and feel we need another break to get over this one. My advice is to stay away from here unless of course you like Blackpool in the Sun. If not take ear plugs and get drunk every night.

| said: This hotel was a great let down and should not be advertised as a 5 star.
Fistly the good points:
The beach location was excellent allowing you to either enjoy the pool or the sea from one grassed location.
The quality of the food was good.
The bad points were:
The air conditioning in both the restaurant and the bars was woefully inadequate.
The cleanliness of the hotel was hit and miss. Cup marks on the surfaces of the room, sand on the floor etc were there for the two week duration despite complaints.
On a weekend the locals are encouraged to use the hotel facilities which even at already peak holiday season, easily tripled the head count. This meant sun loungers and external food tables not available for paying guests. We even had trouble with local teenagers using the pool and using threatening behaviour to the holidaying teenagers.
The entertaining at night was a joke with at times less than 10 persons watching.
During dinner the service in the restraunt is bordering on the obsessive with plates being removed whilst you are still eating your last mouthful, this is in stark contrast to the service you receive whilst waiting for a drink in the bar.
Overall we made the most of the holiday and the other residents were all very friendly, however I cannot reiterate enough, don't expect a 5 star hotel, realistically it borders between 3 star + and 4 star.

This is our second visit and our second review of the Constantinos The Great, so we will only highlight the features which are different or which we didn’t notice on our previous stay.
Pool & leisure area
The outdoor pool area now has depth markings surrounding. During this stay we used the hotel gym. The facilities may suit hardened body builders, however we are used to modern equipment and the equipment in this gym are far from modern. The gym has air-conditioning, however the surrounding windows make the gym incredibly hot.
Bars
The waitress service wasn’t as good this year, but I think maybe there was less staff? Stan in the Lobby bar is great.
Food/Restaurants
The food was fabulous, just as last year. However, there were so many people complaining. The only assumption we could come to (with the reps we discussed this with, who incidentally, all decided to eat at this hotel whether they were the designated reps there or not) was that the people who constantly moaned that they could only eat croissants, wanted eggs and chips!
Entertainment
There was the usual daytime animation programme, the complete female team did their job well without becoming overpowering. They were very professional and did their best. There were 3 professional shows a week.
General
As we stated in our last review, don’t stay over the service road. With this experience in mind we e-mailed the hotel in advance to ensure we had a room overlooking anything but this. We had a reply to our e-mail promising, I quote “Our requests would be carefully taken care of”, however when we arrived at the hotel we found our room was actually overlooking the service road. We immediately came back down to reception and we were changed to a room that overlooked reception, which was very peaceful.
We would definitely go back to this hotel, we have never been repeat visitors to a hotel before, but this hotel for us gives us exactly what we want. Many people say, “It’s not 5*”, I agree, maybe not. However, do we want a trouser press – no, do we want a’ la Carte – no, do we want silver service – no. For me it is so enjoyable, my husband is sooooo picky, this is the only ever holiday when he has been eager to go to the restaurant. For us it suits and for those people who have been back year after year and have enjoyed it, great. For those who keep going back but do nothing but complain………………why???????????

The hotel is spotlessly clean, our room was comfortable and towels and bedding changed regularly, even supplied you with slippers.
The staff were very welcoming and very helpful.
The entertainment troup are brilliant bunch of girls, especially Sam, Tash and Angie, so funny. The kids club is very good, not that we needed that.
The waiters/waitresses are a bit quick to take your plates away, but not their faults, what they have been told to do.
Plenty of sunbeds, both around the pool and on the grass between hotel and the beach.
Would certainly go there again, although I do think it is more of a 4 than a 5 star rating.

Buffet style for breakfast and dinner with great choice. For example dinner : Soup/salad/meats/pasta & full desert choice.
Hotel location excellent , 100yards from vibrant Protaras with selection of bars/restaraunts.Something so suit all ,from couples to families. If you want discos then bus to Napa is only 80 cents.
Entertainment very good and not too "in your face"They allowed you opportunity to opt out if you wanted to do nothing on your holiday.
Only complaint on hotel was that on Sunday , the locals descended on beach and your hotel taking beds and space at bars so it was difficult to get served yourself.

I think that the hotel was very clean actually, I didn’t really see anything wrong there.
I am not much of an eater but the food was pretty good.
The waiters and waitresses where too quick to take my plate every time and I hate to be watched and rushed like that, they where very slow at bringing back change and bringing your drink to you to.
The animation team who run the daytime activities for all ages and the kids club where so welcoming, helpful and just such a laugh to be around! For entertainment at night there was the kids disco, then a game of bingo (which was so much better than it sounds), and then there was either the animation team doing a cabaret show or instead of that they had very cultural artists doing dances and things from where they come from!
I would go back to this hotel and to tell the truth I am going back there the same time next year!!

Food not 5* the fresh orange juice was hit and miss we had it 3 mornings out of 14. If you like potatoes you will be OK.
Staff were very friendly especially when you tip them, they would come straight to you as soon as they saw you but you would have to wait a while for your order at lunch time.
The entertainment was diabolical day and night. This is not a 5* hotel.

| said: Returned 13th Sept. 2006 having stayed for 2 weeks in room 337 overlooking the pool, excellent view.
Just a few points about the room itself which might prove helpful:- Air conditioning quite good although could be noisy if put to the highest fan setting overnight. Hairdryer in the bathroom is of the sort that is fixed to the wall and looks like the old Carmen hairdryer, blows out 2000 watts of very hot air, a bit like being stuck in a wind tunnel ! So for all you ladies who like to style their hair do take your own hairdryer. There are plenty of sockets in the bedroom (same 3 pin as in UK). You'll also find plenty of shower gel and soap which is replenished each day. If you have an electric shaver or toothbrush you'll need the adaptor to keep it charged up as the socket (which is part of the hairdryer) doesn't work. Reception were very helpful and hunted around for an adaptor for us.
Can't really comment on the evening meal as we ate out 99% of the time, but we did have one dinner which I must say was quite nice, plenty of choice - soup, salads, beef, curries, chicken, several desserts, cheese board. We found Mr Tsokkos' wine (he only puts his name to it) to be quite drinkable.
Breakfast was the same as in any other hotel we've stayed except the freshly squeezed orange juice is free of charge (walk past all the food and its round the corner on the left - easily missed).
We watched one show in the evening - Robbie Williams - he really does need to keep his day job!
Plenty of sun beds especially on the lawn area and if you don't want to pay the £1.25 for the beach sun loungers you can drag the hotel one a little way onto the beach to catch the late afternoon sun.

Rooms good standard and cleaned every day. Will move you if not happy with room and view if they can.
The hotel is set just on the beach so no need to carry anything with you, or you can sit on the beach bar and look at the lovey views.
We have hired a car on every visit and would recommend a trip up the Troodos mountains and if you are AI the hotel will give you a packed lunch if you ask the night before.
Staff very helpful and at lunch you can have the buffet or order from the lunch time menu if AI. Don't think some guest were aware of this. Cocktails included in AI.
Location is great as two Min's away from nightlife and shops. Really easy to drive over there. All in all lovely hotel and lovey location.

| said: We have just returned from this great hotel. Overall we would give this hotel 9/10 for its inviting and friendly approach. The hotel is clean and the staff cannot do enough for you. The entertainment team were brilliant throughout and made the kids disco a must. Evening entertainment lacked quality which was a shame for those who were all inclusive, we however being half board went out every night to the many bars down the strip, all of which were well equipped for kids and very spacious and only a short walk away from the hotel.
There were ample sunbeds around the pool and on the grass area so no need to get up early to put towels on the beds (unless you wanted a certain spot). We only did this twice in 14 days and never went without a bed. The waiter service around the pool went down a treat and were all very friendly and worked extremely hard. Food in the snack bar was lovely especially the chicken salad pitta breads! We did find the food and drinks pricey so will be going all inclusive next time (nearly everyone was).
Evening meal was very nice as the restaurant is separate from the one at breakfast, so this made it a little more special for dining. Again, staff cannot do enough for you and are there to pour you another drink as soon as your glass is empty. The qaulity of food is fantastic and very tasty, different soup every night. Our only quarm would be the variety of food and would recommend theme nights as an option but we did swap our evening meal for lunch and ate out on 2 occasions which was nice. Kids menu poor!
Overall, fantastic location right on the beach, great hotel and pool area and perfect family holiday, oh and the weather topped it all!!!!
Looking at prices for next August so soon....

Pool area
The outdoor pool area is quite spacious, it is well maintained being cleaned properly daily and continuous litter collection throughout the day. There’s a large pool, which slopes in like a shore and gradually gets deeper. There is a bridge crossing the centre of the pool, the other side of this (from the shallow end that slopes) is the deepest part, non-swimmers beware, as it is not obvious which parts are deep.
There would be plenty of sun beds if only hotel residents used the facilities, however weekends are very busy and often during late afternoon, locals come and use the hotel pool/sun beds and to be honest this was quite a nuisance.
The indoor pool is 1.30m all the way around and ideal for swimming, this pool is always deserted until about 11am, so if you like to swim up until this time is your best bet.
There’s also a small outdoor children’s/babies pool which is about knee deep.
Bars
In total there are 4 bars, all of which offer all-inclusive drinks. There is waiter/ess service at all bars and that includes when you’re on your sun bed! You can go and fetch drinks though if you want to. Sometimes the service can be a bit slow, we always make a point of be very friendly and give tips early on during our holiday, which always guarantees great service, (just make sure you tip the right ones and get them to put the money into their own pocket.)
There are a most things available on the all-inclusive bar list; we didn’t find anything we asked for un-available.
Food/Restaurants
The food was fantastic, especially in the main restaurant in the evening. There wasn’t a repeat 7-day menu, but 4 nights were repeated. This was Cyprus night on a Tuesday, then 2 carvery nights (different joints), and barbecue night on Thursday (if anything barbecue night was the meal I didn’t care for.)
All the meats were always well cooked and tender, usually a choice of about 4 meats, one fish and a vegetarian option. One carvery night there was beef and pork, another beef and gammon. Then there would be more meat choices on the hotplates. On another night there was turkey on the carvery.
The main restaurant served dinner only, for breakfast and lunch this is served downstairs in the Byzantine Restaurant (inside and out). Again buffet available for both of these, breakfast was the usual what you get abroad. We found our favourite thing were the omelettes, we would never eat the stuff they call bacon and sausage as it resembles nothing like what you would eat at home (but we’ve found this every place we’ve ever been to in a foreign country!)
There’s loads of choice, fresh orange juice, wheatabix, donuts, other cereal, fruit, toast, croissants, the list goes on.
For lunch there is also a buffet available in the Byzantine, or you can order from the menu. Again, fabulous choices and great quality. There are 2 kiosks called the Sea Breeze Kiosks, you can order snacks from here and it can be delivered to your sun bed if you wish! We don’t go in for snack type food much but they served burgers, chips toasted sandwiches and stuffed pita bread (the tuna pita we did try and it was delicious!)
Entertainment
The entertainment team were good, we don’t do any daytime activities, so we don’t want them screaming in our face, which they didn’t do so that suited us. However they provided activities from 10.30 all the way through to 4pm with a break for lunch, the usual kind of activities, which are provided.
In the evening, there was the option of a quiet drink in the lobby bar, a few nights there is a pianist, once a week a man who plays guitar and sings, all very low-key.
Or the far side Sea Breeze Kiosk is open with the open-air seating and stage area. The entertainment team provide kids disco, bingo (cash prize, which we won £100!) and then either a professional show or the animation team effort, which is all watchable and if you don’t watch it, the music is always good. Cyprus night is a bore, better off in the lobby bar.
General
Great guest rooms, although don’t stay in a room over looking the service road as the dustbin lorry comes anytime between 4am and 7am and is very noisy for about 30 minutes. However, beautifully decorated, plenty of storage, daily maid and towel changed, sheets changed about 6 times in 2 weeks.
Location
Perfect walk to the top of the short road, turn left or right and there is shops and bars on either side as the hotel is literally in the centre of the resort.
Staff were all friendly and extremely polite, I’m sure they are kept on their toes as Mr. & Mrs. Tsokkos were in the hotel most days.
I’ve read on lots of reviews for this hotel that state it is not 5*, I think perhaps not, but I would say 4+*, it compares well to the Ledra beach in Paphos, which is given 4+* rating. As with any hotel there are aspects, which could be improved upon. For the Constantinos in our view the one gripe we had was the fact that we booked this hotel with the impression that there are 154 guest rooms, which is relatively small. However there are apartment blocks linked to the hotel using its facilities, as well as the swarm of locals that at times makes it too busy and not as relaxing by the pool as it ought to be.
Saying that, would we go again? Like a shot!

Staff worked the socks of for you and could not do enough. They were so friendly and spoke great english.
The food was great and was hot. The breakfast was brilliant. Radana who made the omlettes was so friendly and she made fab cakes for dinner. Lunch great and dinner was posh and brilliant.
Location was amazing, 10m away from the sea and hotel situated in the middle of the Protaras strip. The hotel was very clean and was always being cleaned.
The entertainment crew were fantastic, Carlos, Sarah, Leah and Shoamin. They were always making the kids happy with the ativities. Night time entertainment was good and Robbie Williams is a must.
This hotel is fantastic and in my view the best hotel in Protaras. This hotel is so good the kids even cried when we left after two weeks of luxury.

The staff at the Hotel Worked all so hard and we never waited 30 minutes for our drinks.
The food was great in the Mornings a Wide Selection of Foods Omelettes are yummy. Lunch Time again Wide Selection of Food , There is also a Bar Menu Have alook at that that is More Burgers pizzas ETC. Evening Meal was good did get a bit repetitive and the kids meal does not have a wide selection Nuggets/Sausages chips and baked beans every night. Our Kids ate from the Adults section.
The Animation Team were superb Leah And Sarah were great with the Kids and they all did their very best at the evening entertainment. Some of the acts are better in the evening than others.....give the Cyprus night a miss.
Over all we all had a great Holiday and would definitely go back again.

Hotel is spotlessly clean, bedding and towels changed every other day, tea and coffee replinished every morning.
Hotel staff wonderful especially Artemis, Lenka, Peter.
The food was brilliant, with so much variety.
The location of this hotel is great, it is based right in the centre of protaras, but is not surrounded by bars as it sits right on the beach, which is great.
The entertainment this year was much better than last year, the new animation team were great carlos and amy were brilliant with the kids. The entertainment acts this year were elvis (who was very good) Robbie williams who was great, cypriot dancers which was lovely to see and many more acts which were also great.

We both enjoyed everything about it, only one thing that let the hotel down was the evening entertainment, we didn't mind because we went out into the town where there was a alot more going on.
The rooms where cleaned everyday and fresh towels if you wanted them, tea and coffee provided also.
The staff there couldn't do enough for you and where always round the pool offering refreshments (which were definitely needed as the temperature was rising everyday)
The weather was beautiful during our stay and always a nice breeze in the evening.
I would return to this hotel again for a holiday and would love to go back to Protaras.

| said: This was a beautiful hotel set right on the beach with everything that you could want. There was even a launderette opposite.
We had a sea-view room with a balcony looking straight on to the sea and the pools below.
I would recommend this Hotel to anyone apart from the
food! At breakfast there was everything there for the English except it was exactly the same every morning and it "always cold". It was not the sort of Hotel to have snacks for lunch as it was too expensive and lacking in choice. I suppose if you were "all inclusive" you would put up with that! It was better to go to one of the many cafes or bars in the vicinity. Dinner was again "cold" every night and there again was no much variety. God help anyone who had any of the soups - sprout soup, carrot soup, vegetable soup mainly consisting of sprouts! If anyone didn't go in early for dinner there wasn't much chance of the buffet being re-stocked! For a start a couple of microwaves would be a big help and more variety. After all, it is a 5* hotel!

| said: We have just arrived back from Constantinos the Great in Protaras while we did enjoy the holiday overall there were good things and bad.
Airport to hotel ran smoothly no problems and we were checked in quickly.
The room was of a good size with a nice balcony but the bathroom was very tiny so you had to be careful when you had finished your shower that you didn’t put your foot down the toilet when you were getting out. It really was that small no way a 5*. The rooms had tea and coffee making facilities as well as bathrobes even though it wasn’t a superior room also the towels were all lovely and fluffy.
The cleaning of the room and hallways was of a very poor standard. We were on the second floor and our room had wooden floors they were dusty and had lots of blonde hairs everywhere presumably the previous occupants. (None of our party were blonde) The tiles around the shower could also have done with being cleaned as there was hairs stuck here also and remained there during our stay. All the cleaners seemed to do was make the bed and empty the bins. Also the hallways are all carpeted and they did not see a vacuum the whole time we were there.
The entertainment staff did a good job during the day trying to get people involved while not being overly pushy they were all a lot of fun, the shows at night were ok a lot of effort went into them.
At the side of the hotel there is the strip with all the bars and restaurants and there were lots to choose from. If we hadn’t been AI we would have gone out every night. Definitely do not recommend going AI when staying in this resort you are too tied to your hotel.
The food at the hotel wasn’t great breakfast was rubbish apart from the fresh orange juice, and lunch wasn’t much better unless you had something off the snack menu which was good. The dinner at night was the best meal of the day always hot and not swimming in sauces which a lot of hotels seem to do. They had carveries, roast chicken, chops, also Cypriot dishes which were always nice but the accompaniments were not that great pasta and rice always had a strange taste. Puddings were always the same and not that great. Really wish we hadn’t booked AI would definitely advise against it.
The drinks were all waiter service including at meal times service was always prompt and with a smile.
At first the AI drinks seemed good value lots of different cocktails to choose from but we worked our way down the list and most of them tasted the same and were very weak. The white and red wine and the Keo were the saviours.
The pool area was brilliant not an overly large pool but the sunbathing area was enormous even though the hotel was only half full when we were there even if it had been fully booked there would have been plenty of room for everyone and you could literally step of the pool terrace straight on to the beach. Nice fine sand but the sea right outside the hotel was full of rocks no way you could stand upright never mind have a swim. Need to walk up to where the Sunrise beach was or further up to Fig Tree bay if you wanted to be free of the rocks.
The weather was brilliant for us hot every day with a few clouds on our first day so tans all round.
We didn’t go on any trips as we were only there for a week.
Overall we had a good holiday but would not go back to the Constantinos but would go back to Protaras.

Food very varied and of a good quality.
All inclusive was a good option as Protaras was very quiet. Good selection of snacks/drinks available

Note, the hotel was overbooked, so a number of people had to stay in apartments across the road. They weren't happy, which was understandable.

| said: This is not a 5 star hotel. Management do not seem to realise people have saved up and have been looking forward to their holiday for some time. When we arrived we were told there was a problem, they didn't have a room for us and we would have to stay one night in nearby apartments. When we complained the Reception manager's comment was " You are on holiday - it doesn't matter where you stay." If that was the case we would not have paid 5 star accommodation. We looked at the apartment thinking it would be reasonable accommodation but it felt damp and was very basic. We refused to stay there and were eventually given a room in the hotel.
Many more people had the same problem getting a room in the hotel.
The room was done each day and clean towels provided. We found the waiters, waitresses, cleaning and Reception staff very helpful and friendly but can't say the same for the management.
Buffet breakfast and dinner was very repetitive. We were there for 7 nights but ate out four nights.
Inhouse entertainment was poor but visiting acts were much better. The noise from the bar/entertainment area could be heard very clearly in our room and we were glad it was low season.
The hotel is in an excellent location with a lovely beach and pool area.
We wouldn't stay there again. Service is not 5 star.

When we arrived at the hotel we were impressed by the cleanliness and the friendliness of the staff, we had quite a few hiccups with our property which became quite stressful but, it was great to come back to this hotel to distress ourselves in the relaxed atmosphere that is created by the staff.
The entertainment side of things cannot be marked as we were out of season but I am sure that during season it will be top notch.
The food was good with plenty of variety and the location of this property second to none. I also thought the bar prices etc were very reasonable considering this is a 5 star hotel.
We would definitely visit this hotel again.

| said: Hotel was superb; very clean, excellent food and friendly, helpful staff.
Rooms cleaned daily and they even supplied bathrobes. Breakfast was a banquet, everything from doughnuts to full English and even omelettes made to order.
Evening meals were plentiful and varied. Only complaint we could find was that they served the red wine cold!
Entertainment was limited as it was out of season and we were too early to see Suzanne and her dancing girls! Beware if you go in the winter - Protaras is closed and is like a ghost town; only this hotel, one bar and two small supermarkets open although there is a bus service into nearby Ayia Napa and Paralimni.
A car for a few days is a must if you want to explore.
We certainly hope to go back as it is an excellent hotel, the weather was mostly fine and warm and the view from the room was stunning.
All in all a really enjoyable month away.

The location of the hotel is superb for families. Quiet yet central - perfect. We were a little disappointed with the amount, not quality of entertainment. Children's discos were advertised yet never materialised. Pools were clean and tidy.

| said: I travelled to this hotel in March of this year with my husband my 3 children aged 13,11,9 and my best friend her boyfriend and her 2 children aged 11,9. The flight from Gatwick was ok although a little cramped on the plane but got there ok, we arrived in the middle of the night and so were eager just to unpack and go to bed as we had set off at 9pm that day and arrived at 9pm that night!
Anyway woke the next morning to brilliant sunshine, the hotel itself was lovely and the staff were always polite, and friendly, the hotel itself is right on the beach and as we had a side view could see the pool and the beach at the same time. We were later told we had some of the best rooms in the hotel and they were right, the rooms themselves were nice and were always kept really clean and you were given fresh towells every day.
The food in the hotel was great at first but after a while it can get a little repetative but you feel like you have to eat it as you have paid for it!! However the children didnt seem to mind they were quite happy to merrily stuff everything in sight and never complained so it must have been good!!!!
The outside pool was freezing but that was due to the time of the year, we went for Easter but it was earlier than usual, but this didnt matter as the children all went in the indoor pool which was like having a hot bath.
The beach was lovely and clean and was daily kept this way, the water was a clear blue and you could see your feet, try the flying fish and the parachuting my daughter did and loved it she wanted to go again, even my husband tried the flying fish and thought it was great, I didnt as I'm not a lover of heights.
Overall we had a lovely holiday i would go again but would like to travel in august next time.
Oh and one more thing, the entertainment was non existent for the 1st week we were there but the 2nd week it kicked into touch like I said before. Wrong time to go but we would recommend this hotel to anyone in the right season.

The hotel gives a very grand feeling and we all had side sea views which were beautiful.
Tthe food was ok but I suppose it could be a bit repetitive a lot of people moaned but I was quite happy. We ordered of the menu at dinnertimes which I found better, the only thing I didn’t like was the cakes they were horrible!!! Apart from that the hotel was brilliant.
The entertainment didn’t start until 1st April so we had a week without much fun!!!!

| said: Booked holiday half board, offered all inclusive at a supplement on arrival at the hotel. After 1st evening meal offer was taken up. Food good but found it very repetitive, sweets were not of standard for the stars the hotel had. Breakfast buffet the same and also Lunch time buffet, after a few days a lady told us you could order from the snack bar menu and eat it in the lunch dining room this was ideal with 5 of us to please, by the 4th day we were eating off the menu as the buffet no longer appealed. Overall disappointed with food quality.
The hotel was clean our rooms were made up daily, if you placed the towels in the bath new ones were given with no fuss.
The location of the hotel would be brilliant in summer but in Nov everything’s closed down and I mean everything. It was about 50m to the beach very good position. We were unable to use in Nov very breezy.
Indoor pool a good size but not heated colder than outdoor spoilt holiday a little for us with a 6yr old, also not very clean around the indoor pool area. Outdoor pool very cold it’s a shame they don’t hose down the outside pool area.
Staff were helpful friendly no problems work hard.
Entertainment, sort of, hotel was fairly full a door was open to a conference room when we took a look inside we realised what had been done; they had turned the stage around and faced it into the atrium area. Not many seats. Very poor had to make our own cards game boy cesspool view rooms and end of hotel rooms overlooking beach are best if you can request a room.

| said: We visited the Constantinos the Great hotel because although we have travelled to Cyprus many times we hadn't been this far east. We also wanted to drive into Famagusta.
The hotel was, in most part, a good 5 star hotel. The food was good, and the service very good. Most of the waitresses were from Slovakia. Other staff were good but not up to 5 star hotel standard.
Our main complaint is noise... music everywhere.. It was impossible to get away from it. At night, although the hotel was reasonable quiet, music from the main road and worse, adjoining hotel went on into the early hours and spoilt our holiday.

| said: We had a fantastic holiday, we found the hotel to be excellent, with a great beech location.
The food was excellent with a great variety of choice, even for my 4 yr old. Meals were always hot and to a high standard of presentation and quality, we found the service was excellent.
I clicked onto this web site checking out another hotel, and looked at the rating for this hotel and was amazed to read the comments by the previous review.
I have visited this resort on several occassions and checked out some of the hotels, and this one in my opinion is by far the best. I would recommend this hotel to anyone wishing to stay in the resort.

Cyprus is lovely and so are the people very friendly, i'm off tomorrow to Limissol to give that a try, this hotel is a must really nice, I would defently recommend it.

| said: Hello , I would like to tell you all what a fantastic fortnight my famiy and I had, when we went to this hotel. The staff where friendly and the food was brilliant !
On our arrival the staff were keen to help us with our bags. When we got to the hotel lobby we were astonished by how clean every thing was. On check in the staff helped us to get to our room s safely.
The pool was brilliant and there was lots to keep our kids active including a kids club, (but we don't mind them staying with us, because they are always little angels !)
At dinner time we would go to a near by shop to get a packet of crisps and some fruit for the kids and the same for us, mind you, there was lots more than that , and you could buy food from the restruant if you weren't on full board already !
All of the food on a night time was un-believable . The buffet was brilliant and when you ordered from a menu it was still lovely.
The only bad thing was that the marble was every were, even by the pool. So I was scared that the kids would slip and hurt themselves.
The hotel was literally on the beach so we had a brilliant time !
Me and my family would definatly go again !
