| said: Have just returned from this hotel but infact we only spent 2 days here as we demanded to be moved to another hotel. The beach is fantastic but unfortunatley nobody warns you about the army training ground next to the hotel or the fact that you are in the middle of nowhere and if you cant drive you are prisioners of the hotel as it is too far to walk anywhere. As for the bungalow "peppered" around the grounds they are in groupd of 5 and are approx 6 rows deep so everyone overlooks everyone else.

| said: The lowest paid restaurant staff were all really nice however the reception staff and our holiday rep had no concept whatsoever of customer service. The room cleaners went into our room and took the executive decision to leave no toilet roll despite the fact we left a note politely requesting 2 as it kept running out (cheap stuff that disintegrates in your hands with about 20 sheets per roll). As an alternative, they took it upon themselves to leave our door wide open which we found on our return 24 hours later. We came back to the resort after spending the night away to find it wide open (the hotel swipe card records confirmed it was the cleaners). It was like the twilight zone with these stone faced robots at reception not having any comprehension that we might be slightly upset about this. We didn't even get an apology-nothing. Added to the fact that the bungalow we were in leaked water when it rained and the room was generally grubby, it wasn't great. The place is like a fortress with armed guards at the gate ensuring you don't dare bring any outside food or drink into your rooms (or take any toilet roll out). Nothing is cheap there, except the small minded management of the place.
The food was quite nice though and the pool was well maintained.

| said: Club Accapulco Girne/Kyrenia. My wife and i felt relaxed as soon as we arrived at the hotel we found the location to be an advantage because we wanted a break from the usual battle to avoid street touts trying to sell their
counterfeit goods and timeshare scams.
The entertainment although repetative at times during
dinner and hotel bar after still put us in a relaxed mood
the entertainment in the beach side amphitheatre was
really entertaining being put on by hotel staff.
Despite reading that prices were expensive i found this not to be the case as i have often been charged more in british hotels. The could not have been more helpfull as
we found them to be both curtious and polite at all times. The food was excellent although the tables at times were left with stained linen on them and if you timed it wrong difficulty in find a table.

| said: We selected this facility because it was one and only one offer of our domestic travel agencies at northern Cyprus. Reading the previous reviews we were a bit shaky about this place, but - generally - the overall experience was not disappointing.
It is really large-scale facility located in secluded position. It is disadvantage because you should buy everything within hotel area, consequently you pay higher (sometimes excessive) prices for everything. There is bus service to Kyrenia and back for reasonable price, but the last return is about 5pm. If you want to see a bit more and if you are not just idler car hire is almost must.
On the other side, the resort is very clean, carefully serviced and - due to its extent - never overcrowded.
Half-board catering is of very good quality and quantity.
There are two possibilities of accommodation: bungalows and main-building rooms. Although more expensive, the main-building rooms are of better quality; some of bungalows are not yet renovated and if you will have the bad luck you will be frustrated. On the other hand, bungalows could be of some advantage for families with children. Both immense pool and enjoyable sandy beach are one of the best we ever seen.
I would say that this hotel is the good choice for people who prefer rather slothful and sluggish style of vacation. Although my notion of holiday is different, I surprised myself how it can be soothing.

| said: Food was very good in restaurant although no ice creams, limited sweet selection for kids. Restaurant is a 5 mins walk from hotel and outside area on an incline, multi-tiered, lots of steps. Do not eat between 7.15 and 8.30pm as it is chaos, although inside restaurant OK but canteen like. Tables in short supply for paries over 4.
All drinks are v.expensive, bottle of local wine £8.00, beer(£2.25 soft drinks(cans)and coffee(£2.00), spirits £2.00. Water is only available from beach bar at £1.00 per 1.5 litre as are ice creams £2.25, crisps £2.00.
Shop on site sold practically nothing (two plastic spades for the beach were £7.00). We bought supplies (drinks and crisps) in Kyrenia (15 mins in courtesy bus) and locked them in suitcase in room.
Hotel has ridiculous policy of no food/drink from outside to be brought into hotel complex (inclusive of beach!) and anything found would be confiscated, notices everywhere!
This would not be so bad if the shop on site stocked selection of foods and drinks. Pool area is lethally slippery and there are trip hazards everywhere outside hotel - unfinished paving, steps without handrails. I would definately not recommend for elderly!
Hotel bedrooms were superb, great air-con, v. clean. Kids club/casino/amphitheatre not sampled but live music in hotel was diabolical, two acts did alternate nights and sang exactly the same songs (all circa 1970), we were glad when they had finished.
Live music in restaurant however could be excellent on some nights. Beach lovely, lots of sunbeds/umberellas available here as well as around the pool, pool area -beds were packed together. Slides were v. crowded and potentially dangerous access, I'd recommend heavy parental supervision.
Music around the pool is too loud and dire. Hotel complex and facilities are open to locals or people staying elsewhere for a small charge. At weekends it became very busy.
Our overall impression was that the hotel was more keen to make money by any means than to cater for its own residents. We felt we were being ripped off. Mostly Turkish guests. Car hire only for min. 3 days.
I would recommend that you take everything with you, as it either will not be available or very expensive. Take sterling and change in hotel - visa not widely accepted.
Staff were all very pleasant although English was not easily understood. I wrongly presumed that as tourism was not fully fledged in N. Cyprus we would get value for money but it was definately not the case.
All guests we spoke to felt the same about the hotel.

| said: We managed to reserve inter connecting rooms for the five of us which made our stay comfortable and spacious. The rooms were very clean. Having seen the bungalows, we were very pleased to have stayed in the hotel.
The food was excellent, even the two fussy eaters we took with us enjoyed the huge choice on offer. Breakfast included made to order pancakes and omlettes. Dinner consisted of a variety of local dishes aswell as plain food for the kids. Drinks are expensive (£2 for can of coke) so try to smuggle some in, we did and kept it in our suitcases.
Pools absolutely fantastic especially the slides. kids happy to spend the whole day in the pool as so much going on. The hotel has its own private beach which is very well maintained.
Entertainment hit and miss but above all the kids loved it.
Definitely a fab family hotel and would return.

| said: After reading various reports on this hotel we was quite worried when we arrived. We found the hotel room to be very clean and a good size apparently the hotel rooms are of a better standard than the bungalows.
The location was a bit of a problem as you are not within walking distance of any other shops or restaurants in the area, so car hire is strongly recommended.
The food was very good the only problem being the restaurant being on a steep slope and the sheer number of people trying to get their food at the same time. Quite difficult if you have children with you as it feels a bit of a battle to get anything.
The entertainment was excellent especially if you have children the mini club and mini disco were brilliant with the entertainment people working so hard to make sure the shows that were put on were very professional.
We found the hotel staff helpful although there English is limited they were friendly.
One thing I would warn about is the very slippery marble floor around the swimming pool be very careful and make sure children don't run around the pool.
Don't buy from the hotel shop if anything is needed buy in town as prices are extremely expensive with children's suncream as dear as £18.00. Although we heard about items being confiscated when bought out of the hotel we did not see this ourselves.

Food was nice. Drinks very expensive.
Nice bungalows but up steep hill, not very nice in 35 degrees plus.
Entertainment was very repeptitive and everything repeated in different languages ie. russian.

| said: Excellent hotel, we stayed in the bungalows after 1 night in hotel due to freak thunder storms and arriving at 1am in the morning. We found the bungalows clean and no different to the hotel rooms, with children would def recommend it.
The pools lovely a choice of 1 large outside pool 2 children’s pools and indoor pools too. The water slides excellent fun (do hurt your bottom though).
The food is wonderful a great choice and cater for children too, the drinks were expensive as per most hotels and you cannot bring anything in from outside supermarkets but we did sneak our own alcohol and kept in our suitcases also sweets and crisps for our child!!!!
The entertainment could have been better there was a kids club which was fine if you had children although when we were leaving they were setting up the outdoor disco. In the day there was plenty of entertainment from darts, volleyball, aerobics and pool activities too.
I would def recommend this hotel it is great and you do not need to leave I would advise to go mid to late June as that is when all activities start. We were there for the wedding it was not that bad and we were invited to attend if we wanted to!!
I definitely would recommend and may go back next year.

| said: Hotel has good facilities (beach, pools, gardens etc)
restuarant organization and food choice is awful - definetly not 5 star. They also seem to have a rip off mentality, charge for what ever they can and them some and use cheap quality food etc.
One night an influx of approx 900 visitors (Turkish wedding) caused chaos and a fight in the restuarant.
it could be a good hotel - needs good management
we would not visit again.

| said: In October 2004 we visited N. Cyprus for a long stay holiday. This was our fouth visit to Northern Cyprus. We booked the "converted house" at Club Z in Kyrenia, this was supposed to be newly refurbished accommodation adjacent to the hotel.
Well it was adjacent to the hotel but refurbished it was not, the place was very poorly furnished and was not very clean, the kitchenette and bathroom leaving much to be desired The bed linen was very poor.
The hotel is in quite a convenient location within walking distance of Kyrenia town centre. On arrival this is quite an impressive self catering\B & B complex, not very big with a decent size pool. Unfortuantely these are its only good points.
The food was very poor, especially the evening meals, The whole place was very poorly maintained the pool in particular was only cleaned a couple of times during our five week stay, the bottom, sides and steps were green, and we heard very many complaints from people regarding their accommodation in the hotel.
The staff tried their best and were very friendly. The owners were more interested in opening their new Casino than in the guests they had staying there.

| said: My husband and I stayed at the Club Acapulco for 10 days to the 27th October 04. We stayed in the hotel itself and found it to be correctly graded for North Cyprus where tourism is still in the development stage.
The location was approx 5 miles to the east of Kyrenia and next door to one of the many Turkish army establishments to be found all other North Cyprus. Walking to local bars and restaurants was not really possible, however daytime courtesy buses to Kyrenia meant you could spend lazy lunchtimes at one of the many harbour restaurants. The beach was lovely and sun beds both on the beach and around the large attractive pool, free and very comfortable. Need to take your own beach towels.
The staff were always friendly and helpful and the hotel nice and clean with the exception of the restaurant table cloths which were at time left on for the next customer although food stains was clearly visible.
The hotel food was good with an excellent selection including lots of local specialities, which we particularly liked. The restaurant experience however was one of our worst holidays with no atmosphere to the large area, badly set tables, blaring out live music and not enough no smoking areas. The overworked staff found it difficult to keep both tables and clearing areas free of build up, but to their credit remained friendly and cheerful throughout.
It’s only our opinion but we found the live entertainment in both the restaurant and lobby bar so poor we were mostly glad when it stopped. We also felt drinks were poor value in the hotel with spirit and mixers being both small measures and half as much again as the Kyrenia bars.
We hired a car and travelled from one end of the north island to the other. Try and make the effort to drive to the very end of the panhandle and be rewarded by fantastic coastline. We also stopped by all the main hotels to see which we would go to for a second visit. With this knowledge it’s our advice that although some had better features, it was all swings and roundabouts and none stood out as better than the Club Acapulco, particularly if unlike us you are looking for a family holiday.

| said: We stayed at the Club Acapulco near Kyrenia for one week 20/10/04. The hotel is top class, the pools and the water slides are excellent and so is the beach, very safe.
We stayed in one of the bungalows, when we return next year we will stay in the hotel. This does not mean that the bungalows were poor, they very clean (cleaned every day) but they were basic, the hotel was just a higher standard.
The food in the hotel was excellent my children aged 5 and 16 are both faddy eaters but had lots of choice and always had a plate full.
Hotel entertainment was limited but we went out of season, a group each night while you ate your meal and usually a singer in the lobby bar afterwards. We didn't visit the casino but if you buy five pounds worth of chips you get a free drink.
We found the staff very friendly and helpful; the first night that we arrived we had missed our evening meal that was no problem as they were only too happy to serve us a 3 course meal.
The beach area is very clean and the waves in the afternoon are great fun without being unsafe (as long as you take a reasonable amount of care).
Before we went we heard a lot about the drink prices, they were more expensive than outside the hotel but not over the top, a pint of beer was about one pound thirty.
Two words of caution around the pool area can be slippy but if you walk and take care you should have no problem. Also food and drinks cannot be brought into the hotel, do as we did hire a car, go to the supermarket bring the food and drinks in your flight bags and lock them in your case in the room, a visit to the mini market on site is advisable so you can buy the same products as they sell then hey presto the hotel are no wiser and you can eat your crisps and drink your drinks around the pool and no-one is the wiser, make sure you put your litter back in your case until the end of your holiday if you eat and drink in the room.
By doing this the car hire paid for itself in the money that we saved. Last comment there is nothing outside of the hotel to do so car hire is recommended.
