The staff were very friendly and helpful, there were plenty of sunbeds the pool was clean the food was lovely, as we did eat a few time in the hotel.

| said: Having read many of the below comments I felt things have either changed a huge amount for the better at this hotel or the some of the below reports are not accurate.
We arrived at the ARTEMIS APARTHOTEL at 0500 hrs and the room was ready for us straight away on our arrival. Having read the comments below and being a little alarmed by this we were prepared with cleaning gear to deal with the possibility of a dirty room but we were surprised. The room was very clean. Not only in the obvious places, but bins, cupboards and under beds was also clean. The rooms was visited by cleaners every day. (Only once on weekends) They would spend about 30 to 40 minutes leaving your room and bathroom clean and changing towels, bed sheets and replacing toilet rolls, soap etc. The hotel area outside the room was also mopped and cleaned every day and cleanliness was never an issue. We went self catering because we wanted to eat out in many local places both in and out of the tourist areas. We could for a very reasonable price eat in the hotel. Breakfast for example for 2 adults and 2 children cost £9 Cypriot pounds for us all to eat all we wanted. Most guests were on all inclusive and we made many friends who ate in the Hotel all the time. They all appeared to be enjoying the food and other than the quality of the bacon there were no complaints. The all inclusive could get all drinks and ice creams free and quickly all day and a good choice of snacks were always available for them should they wish an alternative to the restaurant. I would consider going all inclusive next time. The hotel is just over a 10 minute brisk walk from the beautiful Fig Tree Bay Beach. It you go to the most southerly end of the beach the sand is smother and without stones which some might find uncomfortable under foot and the North end. Walking back from the beach during the hottest part of the day can be a task even though it is quite a short distance. I would recommend using one of the many pubs or cafes on the way back to purchase an ice cream for as little as 50c to break up the walk. We hired a car for the first week. Directly over the road from the Hotel is a place to hire cars and bikes. We hired a nice clean Suzuki Saloon car with a large boot and it only cost £18 Cypriot pounds per day all in to have the car for a week. (It is a little more expensive for shorter periods.) The location is a short walk from the Night life of Protaras but far enough away so as not to be disturbed by the noise. One concern for anybody visiting this hotel is the road outside is busy and the Cypriots, Tourists and in particular Taxi Drivers drive fast along here. If you go out and drink in the Town on the evening, you should take care crossing roads and use the pavements. We heard many stories about Tourist being knocked down in the evenings on the road outside.
There are two small typical supermarkets within two minutes walk and also an off licence and much more. The area includes a mixture of theme pubs and more traditional pubs and Cypriot Bars. The prices are far cheaper if you avoid the theme pubs and restaurants. Less than 4 minutes walk from the Hotel in the direction of Protaros Centre is a Typical Cypriot Restaurant called Super S. We ate here 4 times in our two weeks. There food like many other places was excellent but they bent over backwards to be more welcoming than any other place I have ever visited. The kids were always given Free drinks and ice creams, money for the pool table and games machines, bags of fruit to take away after. We always got a free drink after our meal and all beers were brought out in 660ml bottles sat in buckets of ice. The prices worked out here at about half of what you would pay for similar at a theme pub down the road. The Bar Staff, cleaners and hotel staff were always friendly. The Bar Staff were very hard working and always smiling. The rep was available but we had little cause to need to speak to her other than arrival departure details. The hotel has three full time entertainers lead by the hilarious camp but competent Andy and his dodgy dyed Ginger hair. He is assisted by the hard working Michelle and Emily. The activities start at about 10 am and go through until midnight each day. They include a morning session of exercising in the pool, pool, tennis, darts competitions, quiz's, family water volley ball, adult water polo and more. Most things happen at the same time each day so it does not take long to get into the routine of what happens when. The evening entertainment is a mixture of games (With many free drinks) short Bingo Game, shows by the entertainers and also each week some outside entertainers are bought in. These include a parrot show and a hilarious trio of Cypriot dancers. They have a funny twist in there act. All in all I felt we had good value for money and all the staff involved were working hard to involve everybody to ensure they also enjoyed their time.

The food was always cold. The rooms were very basic and the 3rd and 4th beds disgraceful. As for the entertainment...... the childrens mini disco started at 9.00 pm for 10 minutes and then it was a case of what shall we do now? The two girls providing the entertainment, clearly did not want to be there so just let the people there amuse themselves.
We will certainly not be going back to this hotel!!!

| said: The Cleanliness of the Artemis is none existant.
We was supposed to stay there for 14 nights but only lasted 3, the room was never cleaned, bins never emptied, the whole hotel was filthy.
The balcony if you can call it one was unuseable as the air con units are on it and blow out very hot air and are dangerous.
The 3rd and 4th beds in the lounge are a poor excuse for a put me up, the 4th one being 3 inch off the floor.
Cockroaches in room, rats in resturant. Unhelpfull staff, non edable food, left out for hours keeping warm, soggy chips dried up burgers, stale bread among a few of the offerings.
The pool area was disgusting never cleaned, my son got a severe ear infection from the pool and needed doctor treatment.
Airtours rep has the biggest attitude you will ever have the not so fortunate pleasure of meeting. Kids clubs none existant kids reps can't be bothered always say sorry not enough kids try tomorrow no matter how many. (went to Salou with Thomson last year and kids clubs run no matter how many was present).
I'm not making things out to be worse than what they are I am happy with the basic stuff as long as the kids are happy but they wasn't here.
Avoid the Artemis at all costs £2500 for a holiday that would have been ruined if we had not moved hotels.

Jenny the airtours rep was pathetic, she was the most ignorant person I have ever met.
The bedrooms where filthy, sheets weren't changed until the 9th day when I went to reception to complain.
The day before we left a rat was found in the restaurant it was taken out by a waiter and killed out the back.
Restaurant was closed that evening but opened as usual next morning. A rat was also in the childrens play area and one beside the sunbeds.
I would never recommend the Artemis.. living nightmare..

Upon arrival the hotel seemed ok, Man at reception was friendly enough and duly booked us in quickly and easily, then we got to our room!!!!!
The room was baking hot and consisted of a main living room with two beds one of which was more or less a mattress on wheels an inch off the floor, the bedroom seemed ok if a little hot, consisting of two single beds pushed together, very uncomfortable as well.
We were informed by the reception staff that we could purchase remote controls for the air con in the rooms at a cost, this in a country as hot as Cyprus and in a three star plus hotel is at best a rip off bordering on an insult.

| said: We arrived at the hotel in the early hours of the (13/08/06) morning and we were very shocked-it was awful!
The rooms were dirty, the sheets were ripped and the towels weren't changed often enough.
Our second day there we had an item taken from our room by the maid, the rep didn't want to know.
The balconys had the air conditioning units on and so we couldn't sit out on them, it was far too small and too hot from the unit.
Our room door locks didn't work neither did the window lock-despite the fact we was on the top floor, this wasn't fixed during our stay despite lots of nagging.
The shower in the bathroom didn't work between the hours of 5pm and 8pm-there obviously wasn't enough pressure or water to go around the hotel.
We went to the restaurant and found all the food was gone within half an hour of opening and the food was cold, the snack bar was empty all the time-you had to continiuously ask for it to be filled up.
The restaurant and reception staff were very unhelpful when you had any problems, there was 1 girl in the restaurant Veronica and she was quite good and helped when she could.
The beer was watered down and tasted dreadful. We had to go up the strip just to get a decent drink of alcohol.
In the brochure we was told there was a tele in the hotel with english channels and sky sports but this also was not the case, there was a tele but the only english we could get was the news world channel occasionally.
The entertainment was run by a company called One stop NOT airtours, we only found this out when we arrived, the entertainers Zara and Tom tried but unfortunately were unprofessional (drunk on stage trying to entertain children) and very boring. The sound system was a waste of time the microphones squeaked continuously and the music sounded dreadful when played through it. As a result we found ourselves trying to get out of the hotel as much as possible.
The pool was filthy dirty, it wasn't cleaned with chemicals only with a fishing net each morning, as a result every single child in the complex had an ear infection and numerous people including me and my family had throat infections also.
Every night the pool was full of frogs.
We had to get up every morning at 6am to get a sunbed as there wasn't anywehere enough to go round.
The lifts in the hotel were breaking down every day so unless you like trecking stairs in 45 degrees then request a low floor!
The hotel was a 10 min walk from Protaras strip, Protaras was lovely, fig tree and flamingo bay beaches were stunning.
The resort is definately worth a visit but stay well clear of this hotel!!

| said: Just arrived back from the Artemis hotel. Upon arrival early hours in the morning first impressions not very good.
Room very basic but spent very little time in it. Not cleaned often and towels needed changing more frequently.
10 minute walk to the main strip of Protarus which was nice of an evening. Loads to do, plenty of bars, resteraunts, ideal for s/c.
We were s/c but upgraded to all inclusive because of great reviews from the families we met who recommended it. We were not disappointed at all. No queuing for meals or the bar.
Pool area very nice and cleaned every morning although a few people picked up ear infections, the Cyprus heat could not have helped as temps were in the 40`s every day.
Entertainment staff worked very hard to keep everyone entertained. Top marks to Tom & Zara they were excellant, never stopped from morning to night. There is a bbq night every week and its great, amazing food.
Hotel very family friendly met loads of nice families. Had a great laugh and would return to this hotel again in the near future.

Staff did'nt seem to care less and very glum looking.
Entertainment was terrible and un professional.
Room was not cleaned very often and also had to ask for towels to be changed.

Food okay something for everyone even if you just stick to salad, chips, etc. but the food wasn't too bad..
Entertainment terrible, one night karaoke, one singer, and the rest was the entertainment themselves,ha ha! that was a joke, mini disco, bingo.
Would never ever recommend anyone to go there, its terrible. You could drink as much beer, vodka etc never get any different not that I'm a drinker but the other family was. Free ice cream was a benefit, milkshakes was free but they had slushes but had to be paid for..
All i can say I paid over £2500 for that and never ever again....

| said: We arrived at the Artemis finally after a 7 hour delay! On first impressions the Hotel looked fine a clean. The rooms were very spacious and clean. After a few days noticed that the rooms were not cleaned daily. The beds were left un-made, and the toilet bin was left which was disgusting as you don't put your toilet paper in the toilet you put it in the bin!!! The sheets were changed once the first week and once the second week as were the towels.
The Hotel food was ok to begin with but it was very basic and there was very little choice so in the end we started to eat out every night. We all decided we would never go All Inclusive again as it really did not benefit us at all although it did give the kids some independence as they were able to ask for their own drinks and ice-creams. Alcohol was drinkable but not enjoyable.
The Hotel is situated well out of the way with a 5-10 minute walk into the main of it all.
Hotel staff were friendly and nice.
The entertainment was rubbish - the worst ever. The entertainment was nothing to do with Airtours which was dissapointing. Our Rep was "Auntie Tracy" who was the worst Rep ever!!! She was never there when you needed her and when you did find her she was very unhelpful and not interested at all. We had an accident within the family which needed Hospital treatment and she just didn't want to know we had to sort it all out by ourselves and when she did finally take the time to come over to us all she did was laugh!!!

This holiday is also advertised as self catering - this would be difficult as you are only provided with two electric hobs, a kettle and a fridge. There is nothing else - not even a cup to make yourself a cup of tea. You can upgrade to go all inclusive for a very reasonable price - I would suggest you do this. towels were changed three times a week and your sheets every other day.
The bar and waiting staff are all very helpful and easy to approach. They make a fuss of the kids without becoming intrusive.
The entertainments team - especially Linzi and Nick were professional and approachable. They really try to provide an all round family service and their energy never falters. We enjoyed the evening entertainment and will be doing "Cartoon Heroes" for months to come !!!!! The poolside quizzes were a good way of giving the brain cells a bit of a workout and also for promoting friendly competition amongst your fellow holiday makers.
The food was plentiful and the choice varied. The Cypriot b-b-q night was especially good.

There was 20 of us and we all thought it was a great holiday. The hotel was fairly clean however whilst we were out the there was two sewage leaks.
For the first week we stayed there we were self catering but decided to go all inclusive the second week. Unfortunately this was when the two sewage leaks occurred.
The hotel staff were so helpful during this and even give us our money back for the last couple of days as all inclusive. The location is very good. There are plenty of shops and restaurants around the hotel.
The beach was about a 10-15 minute walk or you could catch the bus. The entertainment was really good. my brother and his friends (who are only 8) found the entertainment funny and joined in.
I found this hotel very pleasant and probably would go there again.

First impressions are not great- the rooms were very basic. But we went to bed and after a good sleep, the next morning, things seemed a lot better.
The food we thought, was really good, we have one vegetarian in our party and always found something good for them to eat. There is a children's section with plenty of chips and fish fingers, but our children like similar food to us and mainly ate from the main buffet. Breakfast is really good.
The rooms could have been cleaned more often, but we didn't spend much time in there anyway!
We found the majority of staff to be friendly and helpful, although one receptionist seriously looked like she would rather have teeth pulled than be working there... dose of happy pills required twice daily please!
The entertainment staff were excellent, esp Martin (although you did throw water on me a few too many times, but I got you back when I put ice cream down your shorts!)
You will know the Cartoon Heroes dance back to front by the time you get home, it's great fun and you should join in the party dances.
The location is a little out of the way, but there is a bus service from outside the hotel and taxis are easy to hire.
We loved our holiday and didn't want to come home, thanks for a great time Airtours...!

| said: I found the situation of the hotel not too bad as it was only a 15 minute walk to the town and the beach.
The cleanliness of the hotel was really appalling, my bed sheets and towels were only changed once during my two week stay and that was only done because I complained. The sewage works broke down twice and leaked into the pool and all that was done was to double the dose of chlorine in the pool which caused severe dry skin on my sons face.
The hotel manager was good and he was there if you needed him but his staff on reception were the rudest I have ever known.
Entertainment within the hotel was very poor as it was very repetitive and far too loud especially during the day.
This is not a relaxing place to stay but if you like lots of noise day and night then you will love it.

The hotel is situated on a very busy road and noise was a problem at times, especially when trying to sleep.
Hotel manager was lovely. We lost one of our suitcases and after atempting to inform poice twice before in order to receive a report for insurace purposes, the hotel manager took us in his car and conversed with the police on our behalf.
Pool area could have been kept cleaner and pool toilets not the best, but overall a good hotel with large rooms, excellent view of beautiful church and good food. Lots of children, therefore great for families, not so good those wanting to lie at pool in peace and quiet though!
Entertainment non stop, again great for keeping kids and adults alike busy, not so good for those wishing for quiet days at the pool.

| said: One of the bast family holidays we have ever had. Hotel was very basic and staff very friendly.
It was so hot when we were there that the tiles on the ground floor lifted and had to be seen to by one of the staff who promptly broke them to try to level the floor out again making the corridor rather dangerous as the tiles were sharp but apart from that it was great.
Entertainment staff were absolutely brilliant and made sure that everybody enjoyed themselves, they worked non stop to keep us all amused. And the eveing entertainment was also entertaining even though it was the same staff who did that.
they gave 100% of themselves to us all and it was great to see ...if they were there every year we would definitely return each year to see them.
Food was nice aslthough there wasn't much choice apart from the usual bangers, pizza and burgers for the kids but they enjoyed.
They are still talking about it which I think is the measure of a brill holiday....11 out of 10 for effort!!

The staff are quite friendly but the entertainment staff are better. They are really friendly and easy to get on with and they do alot to make your stay as fun as possible.
They provide day and night time activities for adults and children, the view is nice and you are only a short walk from the nearest beach. The prices are cheap as well, we went a bannana boat and it cost us 6 cypriat pound each.
The food is very good but not really aimed at children but you can request chips and chicken nuggets!
The rooms are quite big and very clean, the cleaners come around every 2 days and change your sheets etc.
The hotel is very good and given the choice I would go again.

| said: We spent 2 weeks at the Artemis Aparthotel in July 2004. (2 adults, 2 children aged 12 & 9).
The hotel was excellent, staff very friendly. The kids club was very good for the 9 year old, but not really appropriate for the 12 year old. The entertainment during the evening tended to be a bit repetitive (the usual bingo etc), & most people walked down into Protaras. There is a bus which stops right outside the hotel which will take you through to Ayia Napa (15 mins).
We found that the hotel was placed just far enough out of Protaras, which tends to be very loud at night, & we weren't disturbed by the clubbers etc.
The food was excellent, plenty of choice & included themed nights. The only point I would make is that if your children are more into burgers etc, it is worth making use of the poolside food bar which provides beans, sausages etc if your children are not into trying new stuff!
The staff were very friendly & there were no problems at all.
The only (small) point that was slighty disappointing is that the hotel is quite a way from the beach. The nearest is probably a 10-15 minute walk from the hotel.

| said: We spent 2 weeks at this hotel from the moment we arrived we were disappointed.
The accommodation was cramped, the gym boasted of in the brochure was full of broken dangerous equipment.
The worst part of all was that the pool absolutely stunk, all day every day. The sun canopies were all filthy and ripped on loungers, advised by rep due to high winds from Sahara but only hit our hotel.
The entertainment team were loud awful and inadequate.
A swing in the park area of the hotel broke and injured by son as he fell to the ground. The entertainment team stated over the microphone "thanks a lot to whoever broke the swing" reps or staff also posted a letter on notice board slagging off people who complained as having "champagne tastes on lemonade money," This hol was not cheap we asked to move hotels but this was not possible we had to endure a 40 minute round trip to the beach each day to escape the hotel from hell.
Food here was ok but basic, chips etc.
Would not return here worst holiday ever.
On plus side to escape hotel went on a 4 day cruise to Egypt which was brill.

| said: We stayed at the Artemis in June 2003,the hotel is a bit out of the way, opposite the church on the hill(sorry forgot the name of it), but it gave us a chance for a nice slow walk into the resort centre, after the evening meal.
The staff were friendly and helpful especially the entertainers, laura and kate.
The food was also excellent, no good if you are trying to keep to a diet. The only bad thing was the toilets for the pool, they were a bit grotty, other than that it was spotless.

| said: Our stay at the Artemis was a lot of fun, staff were friendly and always at hand.
The food was plentifull and very tasty. The entertainment was enjoyable.
The children were always kept busy.On the downside, the hotel lifts seem to have a mind of their own and the rooms were very basic with no TV.
The hotel is about a fifteen minute walk form the resort centre. I found it very good value for money !
