| said: We stayed half board but because of other reviews we had pre booked seaview.
Pleased we did as balcony also looks over pool and evening entertainment.
If you leave notice on door the room is cleaned everyday although cleaners could be a little more thorough. The hotel is well located close to beach (200m) and only 50m from shops in this small resort.
The food was very varied, plentiful and excellently presented, probably the best I’ve had in any 4 star hotel. The only gripe is that there should always be a choice of 2 soups but if you didn’t like one just fill up on other courses.
The entertainment was poor even though we never stayed in much. The best acts were Fake That and Freddy Mercury the rest were poor and I’ve seen better at karaoke.
There are always plenty of sunbeds but the pool attendant should remove obviously left towels as stated on a notice.

| said: We booked a villa in the resort of Cala Galdana through a company called Bartle Holidays. The villa was called Springhill and was excellent value for money!! It was a 4-bed detatched villa set into the cliffs with views over the gorge and a private pool. It also had a full kitchen including washing machine and dishwasher and 3 full bathrooms! We were so impressed that we've booked the same villa again this year!!

| said: On arrival fond we were on 1st floor back of hotel which was facing cliff very clostrophobic with a room that had a dividing door. Very noisy but hotel staff couldn't do enough for you and we moved to a room still at back second day. This wasn't nearly as clostrophobic.
Rooms were very clean with fridge and bath/shower. Food both breakfast and evening meals were excellent. Short walk to execellent beach although sunbeds and umberellas were 19 euros so take rug!!
We didn't go around pool although this too was very clean not enough sunbeds. Drinks were very reasonable not much cheaper in beach cafes!
Would definitley go back but would pay extra for seaview.

| said: We have stayed at this hotel several times now and it is absolutely first class! It's location is excellent but you need to book a room with a sea view otherwise you face the cliff. However, we have never had any problem booking a sea view.
The last time we stayed was for 11 days - the food was varied each day and was of high quality - with opportunities to enjoy freshly cooked specialities from the 'show cooking' counter.
The rooms are immaculately maintained and the cleanliness is of the highest order. You can run the 'air-con'whenever you want to. It is not centrally controlled and it is brilliant to be able to run it through the night.
With a sea-view room - you get a balcony from which you can view the nightly entertainment which is usually good - whilst enjoying a glass of wine.
The staff are simply brilliant - all the key members speak excellent English and if you are prepared to have a go at speaking Spanish - they love it and will help you in any way they can. At all levels, we have found the service to be exemplary and if you are not happy with something, they will quickly put it right for you.
We have found the service in all the public areas to be friendly, co-operative and efficient and the restaurants, bars & snack bars charge fair prices.
We plan to return to this hotel often in the future because it is so reliable, gives you such a brilliant holiday and is so beautifully located.

Furnishing about 2 star standard.
Food mediocre and long queues for dinner. Bar prices extremely high with rather poor service.
Some rooms are just separated by thin partitions which for a 4 star is poor as it is not cheap to stay here.
Certainly will not return to this hotel.

| said: This is our second visit to this hotel, the last was 5 years ago. The hotel is under new management,(although a lot of the old staff remain). Children are now allowed to stay in the hotel.
The room was clean, beds comfortable, t.v & fridge, no problem getting hot showers/baths. The only problem was our air conditioning was too efficient & we were cold on the first two nights.
Food was good, at breakfast you could have an omlette freshly cooked for you, or choose from a large hot buffet, evening meals just as good with large choice.
Situated an easy 5 minute walk from beach shops and bars even closer.
Hotel staff very friendly & helpful.
Entertainment ok, kids club/games during day, kids mini disco at 8.30 for 30 mins.
Swimming pool clean, safe but cold. (but this was late may/early june)sepperate pool for small children, plenty of sun loungers, parasols, etc .

| said: A proportion of rooms had connecting doors, both singles and doubles, which means a lack of privacy, hardly what you would expect for a supposedly 4 star hotel.
More of a 2 star than 4 in the food department the buffet being lukewarm and a lack of variety and things dissappearing before the end of the restaurant operating hours.
Bar prices were very high with poor service, strange as the furnishings were a bit basic more reminiscent of a 1 star. Thus most people departed to other places.
The only plus factors are the central location and an outside balcony for the restaurant.

Although we stayed in the apartments we were on half board and ate in the hotel.
Sonia was the childrens enterainer and entertained the kids throughout the day.
The resort was clean with the only down side being the tons of ants, but after once telling the hotel, the cleaners came in and we didnt see another ant in our villa.

Hope to go back again another time.

I stayed in the apartments and i must say they were very nice. Not huge but enough room! The maid service was really good not a complaint about that! The staff were very friendly and in the space of two weeks we knew nearly all there names and they were so friendly! There was a waiter called Jesus he was really cool!
The pool was very nice and the deck chairs were really comfie! The hotel had fast internet coneection and were really good to keep in touch with the folk back home!
The entertainment at night was ok but its hard to suite everyones tastes so i didnt mind it! Although i must say the person who sang before the shows were on had the most horrible screachy voice!
The hotel was very well located too!

| said: Official 4 star hotel , but really its a 3 star in disguise.Great location and cleanliness cannot be faulted. Total lack of bar staff so bad drinks service when busy at evening show time in fact so bad we gave up and went to the nearby Sol hotel for entertainment and drinks. The food is typical 3 star Spanish hotel buffet.Ham with ham and more ham.Why you get tinned fruit in Spain defies all logic.Ice cream for desert served in a plastic tub.You wont starve but it is really poor overall food quality and in no way is it 4 star. The freah fruit is hard and not ripe...even Asda supplies better. When we went to the reception to ask if a waiter could be sent to the piano bar so we could order a drink we were told to go find a waiter ourselves.....4 star ???? I dont think so.
The entertainment is below average but at least it is below average every night.
The resident singer and organ grinder has the worst voice I have ever heard....shockingly poor.
Superb location....dont know about the apartments though as we were staying in the hotel.
4 star price for 3 star food and entertainment.

| said: Hotel food and accomodation excellent. Only problem we found is that if you want to use the hotel pool you can not drink your own drinks, you have to buy them at the bar. Bar drinks are expensive e.g. 3 euros for half a litre of water, so if you want to protect yourself and your family from sunstroke you may have an expensive day by the pool. There was no sign up telling you this and nothing was mentioned in brochure. Many other guests were angry with this rule, but few complained (makes a change).

| said: I went to this hotel first in 1999 and again in 2002 with my mum and dad. The first time we stayed in the hote and I had a single room, which although it was on the back had a balcony with a waterfall behind. The second time we stayed in one of the villas and I stayed in the extra bed in the lounge. Both were well looked after and always clean.
The two holidays have definitely been the best I have been on and it is the only hotel we have ever been to more than once. Cala Galdana is the most bueatiful bay and the beach is fantastic.
The food was a pretty typical buffet, although having stayed in several similar hotel probably better than average and the breakfasts seemed particularly good. It's well worth asking to sit outside with a view over the bay (and better chairs).
The staff were always friendly and helpful (we knew most of them by name by the time we left).
The entertainment was about as good(or bad) as you usually get within a hotel; designed to entertain the masses but definitely not as tacky as some.
Overall I was seriously impressed with this hotel and would definietly go back again if my student budget allowed.

| said: My family and I stayed in a beautiful apartment in August 2001. The hotel is very good except for the noise of the live entertainment every night. It seems the massive loud speakers have only 1 setting-full blast! If you like poor quality singing and appaulling music you'll be right at home.
It's a pity as the hotel is excellent and the resort fine.
