| said: 2006 was our 2nd year at the Gunes and will not be our last .
We have followed one of the families who run the Hotel from their previous establishment where we went for 10 years -so you can see we enjoy it .
To echo previous comments , it's clean , reasonably priced , lovely pool + food , plenty of sunbeds , really friendly - and away from the main road yet near enough to walk into the village for shops or restaurants .
We have thought of trying other countries but to be honest why bother when we have a great time there every year and book up again almost as soon as we get back to the UK .

| said: My family and I have travelled to Turkey on a number of occassions and have always stayed with the same family, even when they have moved hotels.
The Gunes Hotel is a family run hotel which has very efficent staff, who are friendly and find nothing to much trouble.
The hotel is very clean and bright, with both Rooms and self catering apartments, all of which are air conditioned, it has a good sized clean pool with seperate childrens pool, a pool table,play area with a swing and a large grassed area to play on.
The food is all freshly cooked and is superb.
If you are celebrating a special ocassion while you are there the Management and staff go out of their way to make it a memorable one, as we found when my Husband and I celebrated our Wedding Anniversary and my Son his Birthday there.
I would recommend this Hotel to all of my friends and family.

| said: The Gunes hotel is situated at Ovacik, in between Fethiye and Hisaronu, a nice, pleasant location about 50 yards off the main road, transfer time from Dalaman airport is about 1 hour.
It has 30 rooms and 10 self catering apartments, all air conditioned, all have balconies, a nice clean pool with another children’s play pool, a separate play area for children with swings etc, and a pool table in the bar.
This hotel does not deal with tour companies so you will not find it in any brochures, and so, it is in effect a d.i.y. Hotel.
The people that use this hotel are people that go back year on year, that to some may sound boring because people like to travel to other parts of Turkey and so forth, but it not only suits my friends and family but all the others that go year on year and invite their friends to get the great holiday experience that they have had.
We have been using this hotel for maybe 9 years now and are really part of the family, however we felt part of the family within a day or so of our fist holiday there, I think maybe that is because this hotel is very hands on, it is run by the family that own it, so it is in their best interest to make people very welcome, and they do.
Everything is on a personal basis, you are not just another tour operated patron that may or may not go there ever again, they know that in some way or another that you have been recommended to them from another customer / friend, if you having a special occasion there, birthday / anniversary and they know about it then there will be something special done for you.
I could go on about this hotel for ages, but to wrap it up, this hotel is not the Waldorf, but it is spotless, the food is excellent, from the snacks during the day to the main evening meals that are cooked to order, nothing is left hanging around, the staff, mainly family are brilliant and nothing is to much trouble for them to make sure that you have a wonderful memorable holiday.
To quote a friend of mine, Tim, that travels with us every year, " this is a right chill out holiday " need I say more.
