| said: We arrived with such high expectations, having been sold a holiday that will suit a disabled person and a child. The reception staff were very nice and helpful, however, we were shown to a room that only had 2 beds in it, they then ran off to get a third single bed, which was not ideal, we had paid for a 3 person stay, not a 2 with a put me up. We found the tipping expectation a little off-putting, I am happy to tip a good service but upon arriving at the hotel and having no small currency, they stand holding their hands out making you feel awkward.
Don't even get me started on the food, awful from start to finish, I agree with other reviews that the breakfast is far from continental or your usual fry up, and lunch and dinner was so monotonous, which I have to add, wasn’t very nice either. All 3 in our group had stomach upsets, along with 6 other people we spoke to throughout the hotel.
The fact that this hotel says all inclusive is actually a joke, they try and get you to buy fresh juice so that you have to pay for it and you have to buy your ice creams, I have never had this in an all inclusive before, also, when one of out friends was ill with stomach upset, she made herself 2 bread rolls and put a slice of cheese in them, she was ordered to put them back!! But we saw lots of Egyptian families taking piles of pita breads and rolls etc out of the restaurant even when they were not even all inclusive.
Hotel staff were very friendly but a bit over the top for my liking, I can only say no thank you so many times a day to a manicure or tattoo and the other 20 things they are constantly trying to sell to you when your trying to sunbath.
Entertainment was so poor it was unreal. In fact we were told at one point that until the hotel got busier that they were going to take the entertainment off, it was the middle of July and not our fault if the hotel was only 37% full. Lovely when trying to get your sunbeds, but tumbleweeds rolled in the evening, where everyone went is beyond me.
Overall a horrible experience which I and my group will not be repeating, even a trip to Naama bay is an experience in itself; in fact I cannot even find the words.

| said: Had 10 out of 11 days bliss ok the accommodation is not 4 star but it is good.
There is not much entertainment you can use free bus in to narm bay this is an experience in itself you can go further a field in one of the local taxis these are safe and very good value arrange price before you set off and barter. £2 to and from nama bay £3 to old skiek market.
Food not great but there was something every time (2 fussy eaters) waiters cannot do enough for you day and night as soon as your glass looks only a quarter full you will get a fresh one if you tip first night £2 no more then they will look for you every night.
Also around the pool the same tip first day and talk to the pool boys then every day after your sunbed will be reserved for you don’t forget to tip last day as well.
Rooms are a bit in need of an update but the cleaners keep your room spotless I can honestly say that this is the only all inclusive I have been to where there is ample staff per guest
Now the one day that was not good all down to Thomson’s reps for not telling the truth Cairo by air excursion do not book this on a Tuesday as the flight is not direct you fly to Taba first which put an hour on your flight and if like me a nervous flyer then you have to contend with two extra take off and landings this was not good. You are only told/read after you have paid your money?
Also be aware of Thomson’s exchange rates if you use your credit or debit card the cost to fly to Cairo in cash is £170x2=£340 but if we had used our card the price would have come to £390 you have been warned either bring cash or travellers cheques.
Another good tip is to bring American dollars get a good supply of one dollar bills for tipping

| said: Before I start, as with most reviews, people jump to the wrong conclusion about hotel star ratings. They are made up of the facilities a hotel has, cleanliness, and quality of service amongst other minor things. So when people review it and say 'this is 2* at best", they don’t really know what they are talking about. And as for rating a hotel down because of your airport check in experience?! Well don't get me started!
So... on with the review!
Arrival - We booked 2 weeks at this hotel, all inclusive. On arrival we were impressed by the small lobby and the check-in procedure was pretty quick if a little disorganised and some people got their wristband for all inclusive while some didn’t. We had to wait to be shown to our rooms by a little fella who was a little ignorant really. We read comments before going like 'the staff are so friendly' so was expecting a warmer welcome. Reception staff were fine though. So after a short walk we arrived at our room and we were shown in. At this point the bloke simply hung around and stuck his hand out for a tip. Now I'm happy to tip but will only do it for good service which I don’t think this was. We had only just got in resort so had minimal cash as well. I had a £10 GBP note and he gave me change in Egyptian and it worked out to be a £5 tip!! Half hour later the cases arrived and he did exactly the same again expecting another fiver from me. Needless to say I told him to scarper!
Rooms - The room was of a good size, nice view of the gardens, TV and good bathroom. Couple of problems we had were not getting hot water on a regular basis and the 'mini-bar' was an empty fridge. The air conditioning was a problem. Due to the room design the air conditioning created an almighty draught when in use so there was no happy medium between cold and hot.
Pools - There are 2 of different sizes. Getting a sunbed by the large one was pretty hard to do at times while the smaller one was easier. I think the small pool was heated as it was degrees hotter than the large one. The large pool was pretty chilly at all times. Round the large pool they played music. Or should I say about 4 tracks over and over. Listen out for hotel California... I assume they worship the Eagles like they do Mecca! Pool bars were good and they always had hot food on the go, although I am not sure of the freshness of this food at times. There was normally a waiter coming round getting drink orders throughout the day.
Food - I love my food and have high expectations on holiday for good food without being fussy. This place, however, left a bad taste in my mouth. Breakfast was not your normal fry-up or continental type. The saving grace was the fresh omelette station which was pretty good and cooked to order. Breakfasts were bat attempts at imitating the english/russian traditional breakfasts and they failed miserably. Breakfasts were normally only luke warm too. Lunch and dinner were pretty much the same apart form at dinner they cooked some stuff outside. The idea is that they theme each night to a specific type of cuisine but I didn’t really notice any differences. Dinner was average really with the odd dish which was above average. My complaint with the food is that they try too hard to give a' home from home' experience with the food and they should forget that and do what they do best. Only on one occasion did they go for any Egyptian dishes and when they did they were pretty good. One big thing about Egypt in general is the tendency to get an upset tummy and this did happen to me. It’s simply down to food hygiene and they should improve this and do regular temperature testing of food on the hotplate.
Pizza a La carte - Well this wasn’t worth the effort in my opinion. Pizza was totally flavourless and the service wasn’t up to much.
The Beach - While not close to the beach the shuttle bus was easy to book and the sister hotel was massive compared to the Garden Palms. You get a lunch ticket so you can eat there too. The beach is more like a gravel pit as its man made but the snorkelling off the in house reef is amazing and should not be missed.
Overall - Not a bad holiday but it could have been so much better, For an all inclusive hotel, I found it very claustrophobic with only 1 buffet eatery and 2 small bars so visits to nearby Naama bay become a necessity.

As Soon As We Got Off The Bus From The Airport, We Were Welcomed Very Nicely By Hotel Staff And Got A Pineapple/Orange Drink On Arrival Which Was Very Refreshing. One Of The Staff Took Up Our Luggage For Us So That Was Also Good As We Were Quite Tired After The Long Journey.
Our Rooms Was Over Looking One Of The Pools But I Was A Bit Let Down As I Was Expecting A Balcony. However The Rooms Were Very Nice And Comfertable With A Good Sized Bathroom And The TV Had Music Channels On It. The Food Was Very Good, Alot To Choose From Although One Person From The Group Did Have A Stomach Upset And Had To Go To The Chemist To But Pills. Also The Bank Is In The Kirosez 3 Corners Resort Nextdoor. We Got A Shuttle Bus To The Nearest Beach, The Beach Was Excellent And It Had A Jete! I Reccommend Going Snorkelling! AMAZING! Our Thomson Rep Was Very Good As Well.
Overall Very Nice Hotel And Would Go Back Again! =D

| said: Went to Egypt on an allocation on arrival holiday and on arrival at the Tropicana Garden Palms we were pleasantly surprised.
The main pool area is clean and spacious. There is also a smaller pool at the other end of the hotel, we found it easier to get sun loungers there but because the pool is surrounded by hotel rooms you dont get a breeze and it traps the heat.
Our room was really big and kept very clean. We tipped a couple of £'s and always found that the cleaners had shaped our towels into swans or flowers when ever we returned to our room.
The staff are really friendly and helpful. Our rep gave us some advice on restraunts in Naama Bay although we did not buy any of our excursions from Thomson as we found the same deals for half the price in Naama bay.
Entertainment was non-existent, the food was repetitive however most evenings there would be a bbq area just outside the dining room where they served egyptian food such as kofta, kebabs, fish, lamb which were delicious and far nicer than the chips and beans being served inside.
Every evening we went into Naama bay where you can get some shopping done, and have a drink or dinner in one of the many bars and restraunts. You will get hassled to buy things, just politely say no and keep walking if you are not interested. Haggling is a must!!! Also, do not pay more that £3 for a taxi!
We did not suffer from any stomach problems and we ensured we had plently of bottled water in our fridge!! I would recommend brushing your teeth with bottled water to be on the safe side! All bottled water is free from the hotel and there is no limit as to how many you can take at once, so would advise to stock up as you will need lots of it.
Overall we had a fantastic time and we would definitely go back again.

| said: Please note that the first floor rooms do not have any balconies and only some of the ground floor rooms have a small terrace. The rooms are very large and spacious.
Also AI does not mean everything as you still have to pay for ice cream by the pool and certain Coffee's from the lobby bar. so watch out for this. The only english the staff seem to know is "You have to pay". Also a lot of the drinks that are served up are not chilled. The pool bar closes at 5pm I went for my drink just before 5 and they wouldn't serve me so get your drinks in well before 5. But some of the hotel staff came and presented my son with a cake on his 18th Birthday which was a very nice surprise. Most of the staff were nice but they didn't exactly bend over backwards for me.
The food is good but after 2 weeks of it you may get fed up with and may go into Naama Bay for a meal as what we did. In the dining room there is sometimes a lot of smoking going on in the next table which I thought this disgusting habit went out 20 years ago. so try and sit at the small non smoking area if this bothers you. The waiters are very quick to swipe your plate away when you are not finished. If you turn your back on your plate it won't be there when you turn back. Friday night is dinner by the pool which is ok but try and get along early as when it gets dark the lighting isn't very good.
Also make sure you have always plenty of egyptian money as the hotel Reception does not cash travellers cheques and the 3 corners next door where there is a bank is funny about cashing them as they cashed my cheque first time I went but wouldn't when I went back a second time.
If you have a young daughter beware as one of the Guy's on Reception tried to get away with my 13 year old daughter. Safety Deposit box is free not like some hotels that rip you off by charging you for it.
Massage is very good but you do have to pay for it.
When you first get there they take your luggage from you and take it down to your room and the same for you when you are leaving they pick it up for you from your room and take it up to the front reception for you so no struggling with heavy luggage.
Overall it is a good hotel with as you can see only a few small things that I didn't like so nothing drastic.

we arrived at the Tropicana Garden Palms after a"Hotel on Arrival" deal. We were generally pleased.
The pool area was nice, plenty of sunbeds-although we did get up at 5am to save the beds then go back to bed! Need to do this sometimes as it does get busy. Pool water wasnt too cold but enough to cool you down in the blazing sun!!
Staff were friendly and attentive in the pool area, topping up your drinks.
Make friends with the sunbed man as he will save you the best bed in the best sun spot for you if you become his friend.
Food was ok, got a little repetitive at times but for what we paid for the holiday, it was fine.
Waiters were very quick on clearing your table, sometimes a little too quick.
Bar was excellent, plenty of choices of drinks to choose from and unlimited bottled water which was very much needed!
Rooms were nice, bathroom needed a little touching up but rooms were always cleaned thoroughly and nice animal shapes made out of your blankets!
Reception staff were very helpful.
Dont buy jewellery from shop in hotel as they are 100% more expensive then in Sharm centre.
All in all a nice hotel for £450 each 2 weeks all inclusive.
If you are sun bums like us then this hotel will be fine.

Its well spaced out and easy to find all the different bars, dining area. Our bedroom was really big with a queen size bed, sofa, lots of storage space, large tv.
The staff would make things to go on your bed out of flowers and towels. The only thing I didnt like was we had a door between are room and next doors that wasnt fitted very well so we heard them a bit.
The food was good you could always find some thing to eat and the staff in the dining rooms were really nice people.
They always came to talk to us about are day etc.we did get upset tummys so we went just down the road from the hotel and found a chemist that was reaily nice and helpful there tablets work better and faster than ours it cleared up after 2 days.you do need to drink alot of water out there and make sure you take your own on all the trips you go on.
The location of the hotel was ok but you need to us the shuttle busses they were great taking you to other hotels (to the beaches were the coral is out of this world)and into Naama Bay day and night dont be worried its really safe.
The staff at the hotel were the most friendly people I have ever met. We made lots of friends with the bar staff at the bar in the reception. The tall towel man was really friendly. The only problem I had was with the man that takes photos around the hotel of everyone he doesnt like the words no thankyou he just takes them anyway.
The entertainment is'nt very good but you can go into Naamma Bay for the night. Would we go back to this hotel again then yes we are looking already to go back as soon as possible it was a really good holiday.

| said: We returned from the Hotel on 6 Jun 06. The flights and arrival all went very well into Egypt. The visa if you get one needs to be in British £. It did not take long to get through the airport and we were not hassled however if you want a trolley expect to pay for this it helps to have a few spare pound coins.
The hotel was very clean and the rooms alike. The room we had was very nice and overlooked the top pool. It was always cleaned and kept very nice. Cleaners were really nice and if the did get you up just had to let them know you wanted a bit longer.
Pools are very clean however you did have to be up early to get that sunbed at the top pool as it is very nice around there but likewise the bottom pool always had plenty of choice of beds.
Food at the hotel was very much the same most days however there was alot of choice as long as you are not very fussy and open to eating anything. Dont expect to see chips to often. However you do not go hungary. The BBQ on Firday night was not like your english BBQ so dont expect to much of this.
The pizza place was really good and you must go at least once during your visit if you can the pizza is to die for.
Trips - Jeep Safari - Very good and well worth every penny however there is a bit of walking through the desert and can be very tiring make sure you have plenty of water with you. The bedwin people charge alot of money for the drinks so make sure you take some with you good experince of the houses and how they live.
Red Sea Cruise - Good day lots of snorkling to be done and the photos you can by at the end of the trip are well worth the money.
Over all the holiday was a great experince and I was very worried about travelling to Egypt however the Security is very good at all the resorts and as long as you dirnk plently of water you should be able to avoid Egyptian belly. I was fine with the belly however alot of compliants in the hotel about this.
Make use of the Shuttle buses to the beach at Al Gafy as very nice beach and great for snorkling.

Excellent hotel, friendly staff nothing too much trouble for them was my birthday the day we left and they made the bed up with leaves and flowers all fancy. Did something different with towels every day. if you dont like ur clothes being messed with use the wardrobe they dont touch anything left in drawers or robes only stuff left lying around. nothing went missing, unfortunately there are no safes in the rooms but can get them that are in reception area for free
2 pools are excellent but not enough sun loungers at the top one but if you go to the bottom pool theres plenty there. DJ played same cd with same 6 songs on it all week lol. rooms are clean and towels changed daily if you dont want waking at 8am then use the do not disturb sign and they come at 10 instead.
Food was very good with plenty of choice inc english dishes like steak and mushroom pie etc not repetative at all was different every day, the deserts were to die for so forget any diets. No upset stomachs at all
Na'ama Bay 10 mins from hotel ia free shuttle bus, mind the guy in shop where they drop you off hes nice but will take you round all 5 of his shops and you will buy something just to get out lol. Managed to get at least 8 marriage proposals with our "magic eyes" that was in first day.
Haggling is an absolute must, you say how much, they tell you, you decide how much you want to pay and meet somewhere in the middle, its great fun if you dont get the price you want walk away and then 9 out of 10 times they will give you it at your price. Dont listen to rumours of being locked in shops till you buy something, we were 2 women without our other halves and it didnt happen to us once.
Trips:
Stars & Dinner trip is great and cheap at around £32, see jupiter, saturn vega and stars and smoke shish pipe meet bedoins. the bedoin tea tastes like benylin
Cairo by air was £160 and from 4am till approx 11pm but worth every penny
Luxor by air was boring unless you really into egyptian history that was £177 from 4am till approx 6pm
Red Sea cruise to Ras Mohammed Snorkelling trip £36 excellent but dont go to sun deck at rear of boat you will fry yourself get in the shade. 8.30am till 5ish
Hotel next door had cash machine and bank for changing trav cheques and has some shops too.
The shop within TGP the guy is a letch and will get you dressed up but tries to get you to strip off to get belly dancing clothes on.
All in all we loved it and would go back tomorrow if we had the money, would recommend this holiday and would definately go back again

Egyptian culture expects tipping, I would recommend and so does the hotel, that if you are going to tip the staff do so at the end of your stay rather than a daily basis. They are on very low wages but always seem cheerful.
The entertainment at the hotel is generally very poor except Sunday evening when they have a "spinning man " on. This is not to be missed he is amazing. If you fancy a bit more entertainment head into nearby Naama bay.
app £3 in a taxi from the hotel. It is very safe but beware you do get hassled by the local traders, it's only friendly banter but can be annoying every 10 yards or so. Lastly, beware of the mosquitoes.

| said: This hotel is very good overall, with a very happy staff and a very good band of cleaners.
Our room was spacious and overlooked the heated pool, which is definately the warmest I have ever come across.
The manager is very much in evidence and monitors all parts of the complex.
The shuttle bus we made very good use of to take us to the sister hotel the Oasis, El Gafe beach, where they have free beds and umbrellas, and access to the sea from the beach, which is unusual, as it is normally by floating pontoon jetty. They also run three return trips each night to Naama bay, which we did to sample the local night life and make a change from the hotel and its boring entertainment.
Well worth making use of the shuttles to break up the days and nights in the hotel.
The beer is drinkable lager but very weak and the spirits are local, not brilliant, and you don't have the option of paying extra for the proper stuff as they don't stock it.
The main object of going was for a winter break away from the cold weather and in this it was great as we had warm sunny days nearly every day for sun bathing if you so wished, but it could get cool at nights, which we knew about, and had taken jumpers and cardigans with us, which you definatley need if you are out and about.
Overall a very good holiday.
We shall return, but may consider a hotel a little nearer Naama Bay, which would suit our particular needs.

| said: The Hotel
In general terms I would say that this is a three star hotel that with a little effort could become 4 star, it is very clean and in general terms is very clean. It does however lack certain things like a Gym and other leisure facilities, but they assure me they have plans for these!! I was also unimpressed with the internet facilities, there is a little shop attached to the hotel where you go for this but have to pay for an hour which is rather steep if you only want to send or receive an email. If they got all this right, it could easily be 4 star.
So who goes there
Whilst we were there, a lot of Brits, mostly the 50 plus brigade after some winter sunshine, but as the place isn’t particularly geared up for kids, there were few there and I wouldn’t recommend it if you are taking kids of 3-15 age groups. There are also Germans, Swedes, Italians and sadly Russians, now we shouldn’t generalise, but they really are some of the most ignorant and rude people you could ever meet, be warned!
Rooms
Ours was a good size with a big bed (originally two singles) and was kept very clean by a very attentive cleaner who covered the bed in petals when he realised it was my wifes birthday the day before we arrived. The air conditioning worked well, but I would recommend you use a Mosi killer in the rooms, we had a couple of bites during night time as did others. It has a TV although the channels aren’t very exciting I’m afraid. On the downside, it had a noisy fridge, no hairdryer and whilst the shower was big and powerful, at busy times it alternated between hot and cold which was very annoying. Some rooms have patios with tables and chairs, ours didn’t.
Pool area
There are two pools, one of which is heated (down the bottom end) and each has a pool bar. Towels are supplied for the sunbeds free of charge and the beds are quite comfy, unfortunately as ever many are usually ‘bagged’ very early and I have to say it, usually by the Brits! We never went without a bed though, but what its like when very busy I don’t know. There is also a small children’s pool by the top pool.
Entertainment
It has to be said that the entertainment is pretty dour at night time and only lasts about 30 minutes, but the Russian dancers were worth watching, you won’t be booking this hotel on the strength of the entertainment! In the daytime there was some activity around the heated pool if you want it.
Food
The food was OK, plenty of choice albeit after two weeks we got a little bored with the choices. In the evening they cook outside as well and so you have to make sure everything is hot, but whilst some dishes could have been hotter, we had no problems with the food and the puds were excellent. Whilst there you are allowed to use the onsite Italian once unless you pay separately. I’m not a great fan of Italian food and would say it was ok, I wasn’t blown away by the standard although the Tiramisu was to die for. The wine is awful, the red is like paint stripper whilst the wine is clearly anti freeze in a glass bottle. Beers OK though even if they only serve it in small glasses of about third of a pint!! One gripe would be the no smoking area consists of about three tables right by smoking tables!! It wasn’t a major problem, but those ignoramuses who insist on lighting up as soon as they have had their mouthful of food do get my back up.
Upset stomachs
You read a lot on sites about upset stomachs and people blaming the food all the time. I am sure that the food does sometimes cause upset stomachs even to the point of food poisoning whichever hotel you stay in, but often it can be down to other reasons including drink and too much sun! We had no problems here and whilst a few residents did, they went to see the onsite Dr and were better within hours. If you do get an upset tummy, forget your Imodium go see the quack or you will suffer unduly.
Staff
In the main, they were mostly friendly and helpful. Bear in mind that this is a third world country and these people are paid a pittance, some of them work an 18 hour day and get a week off every two months to go home to see their families in Cairo and Luxor! Some will become friends once you build up a rapport and are worthy of a tip at the end of your holiday, but remember that whilst they will accept your pound coins, they can’t change them over there so have to get some poor tourist like me to change them for notes, I came back with £60 in English coins!!
Town
Naam Bay is the nearest town to the hotel and there is a courtesy bus which you need to put your name down for that runs each evening a couple of times each night. It is however only about 20-30 minutes walk. If you do walk, take this advice. Cross the road outside the hotel into the central reservation then walk towards the traffic, if you don’t, taxis will pull up alongside you every 10 yards you walk, believe me its that bad. There are hundreds no thousands of taxis and they all drive like madmen, if you go in one agree your price before you get in. Naam Bay has a wide variety of eating houses many of which are very good, I can recommend the Mexican in particular. There are also many shops, but probably only about 10 different kinds. Be aware of the perfume shops, they will entice you in with wide smiles and arms round the shoulders and offer you drinks, but if you don’t buy, the door is locked and it becomes somewhat threatening, even for an experienced British bobby! Once you’ve been around the town for a couple of nights it gets pretty boring I’m afraid unless you enjoy sitting at a bar doing some people watching! The duty free shop they tell you about seemed hardly worth bothering about and we got stuff cheaper elsewhere. Look for the little kiosks if you are after fags and pay no more than E£11-13 for say 200 B&H. As for money exchange, we took sterling and changed over there and got a far better rate than in the UK, plenty of Banks in the town to change it as well as holes in the wall.

| said: We had a week starting on the 1st of January, first time in Eqypt for all but my wife and first time winter sun and all inclusive holiday.
The hotel is impressive, there is a lot of biulding in Sharm, it certainly seems to be growing very quickly, we had a nice welcome and the the site is very nice, the rooms are made up of blocks of 4 mainly, only 2 high, so made for a nice complex, we were situated in the upper floor by the smaller heated pool, each of the pools had a bar.
The heated pool was at a very comfortable temperature, the large pool was a bit bracing, ( and colder than sea temp?) but not uncomfortable if you wanted a refreshing swim.
The rooms (we had 2 as they only have 3 max ocupancy) were very large with air con, tv, fridge, would have been 2 rooms in the spannish resorts, very clean, and continually cleaned whilst we were there.
THe water seemed a little vague, not sure if its an area problem of the hotel, possibly a bit off both, generally fine but sometimes unable to get the waters cold enough...
The whole complex was kept tidy there seemed to be gardeners and staff out all of the time during the day.
With our deal you had 3 meals and if you so desired you cold get snacks from the pool bars from 11-5, drinks with meals but no water at breakfast, so if thats your tipple you just get some from the main bar the night before, just top up on bottles and put them in your fridge, for trips out etc, We didn't purchase anything , we found the beer fine (free from 10am - 12pm from the main bar and 11-5 in the pool bars) the kids had soft drinks and water, the wife said the red wind and the rum n cokes we fine too, but thats as far as our needs went.
we found the food very good, lots of choice and well presented, the staff we very keen to be of service and inside the hotel there was no pestering for tips,
The hotel isn't on the beach but insome ways we found this better away from the hussel and bussel of Narma bay, you can get a taxi into narma (£2) but we just used the Hotel bus servive (free) you can go to the Grand oasis, where you can take vouchers for a meal and we swam from the jetty there, or to Naama, at the days in Gaffy beach, where you have to fend for your slef if you want food or drinks, but has a beach and jetty for your use.
We had good fun snorkeling in both locations
All in all we had a brilliant holiday and really wish we had been able to stay 2 weeks, yes the entertainment is pretty poor, but I think they haven't caught up with the balliarics at the moment.. but they do seem generally interested in peoples views.
we would certainly go back again
1st week of Jan, and the temp was 75 -80's with a couple of clody starts to the day.. not bad really, although the wind did make out boat snorkling trip a bit of an experience!!!!

We were all inclusive although 'local' alcohol is pretty raw and don't even bother with the wine! The food was excellent - if you can't find something to eat at each meal you are being very picky.
The hotel was a little out of the way, but transport links are very good and we had no trouble getting around. Local taxis are very cheap. Hotel staff usually happy on cheerful, although how they do that on the poor wages they are paid I don't know. Entertainment was okay-ish, but for a really lively evening go into Naama Bay - wow, this was a surprise.
I was extremely ill one evening, but the doctor turned up right away and after some treatment (including a drip) I was back out and getting around the very next day - could not have asked for better.
I would recommend you do not delay if ill, just call the doctor as he can get you back on your feet very quickly.

| said: We arrived in Sharm at 4.30pm local time. We were transferred to our air conditioned coach that took us the short 5-10 min transfer to our hotel.
After the recent bombings we were pleased to see a visual security presance at the main gate that imediatley made us feel at ease for the remainder of the holliday.
The service we recieved at reception was first rate, we couldnt have asked for more. Generally all the waiting and bar staff treated us well but we did see some staff acting inappropriatley towards young ladies and groups of ladies. To be fair to the hotel it was dealt with swiflty by managment and the staff were made to appoligise for their behaviour.
The grounds of the hotel are superb. There are two lovely clean and fresh pools with very helpful staff. clean towels are available each day free of charge and there is a pool bar with as much local soft and alcoholic drinks as you need. If there is a down side to the pools it would be that there don't appear to be enougth sun loungers to guests and so we were unfortunatley putting towels out at 6.45am just to get a place by the pool.
The rooms are great. we had a huge queen sized bed, satalite tv, walk in shower and a fridge. The rooms are kept clean by the hardest working group of cleaners i have ever seen. On returning from days at the pool it was not uncommon to see our towels made into animals like a peacock or a crockadile, always putting a smile on our faces.
Food is served in a buffet style and is generally of a high quality. Generally the waiting staff are very friendly and helpfull but again one or two let themselves down by pestering young ladies by taking their pictures with mobile phones.
We both became quite ill after eating from the BBQ on the friday night, and this put us both out of action for the next 24 hours. My advice would be to go to the hotel doctor straight away as he was able to administer local medication that worked 10 times better than anything we brought with us from the uk. Please be aware though that there is a cost to seeing the doctor. I was charged £61.00 for 2 consultations and medication.
In terms of entertainment the hotel is poor. There wasn't enougth of it and apart from the spinning man on Sunday nights there was really nothing to get excited about.
In summing up the hotel i would say that we very much enjoyed the hotel. The place is very clean, very tidy and very friendly. There are a couple of staff who need to educated in the art of customer service but this should not detracked from the general high standard the hotel maintains. Make use of the free buss service into Sharm and Narma Bay as they are great nights out. We would love to go back to the hotel as we had a great time and have taken some wonderful memories back with us to the uk

| said: We stayed at the Tropicana Garden Palms in Sharm. On our arrival at the airport we were met by Med Hotel representatives who were reluctant to let us on the old claped out bus due to us not having been sent transfer tickets even though we had book it. The two Egyptian males dropped us off last at our hotel in the early hours of the morning before asking us to come to a tent in the desert with them! Very unnerving to say the least.
The following morning we awoke to a very hot but lovely heat. The pool was of a good size and u could drink as much soft drinks and alchol as you wanted.
The waiters worked extremely hard however there were a few males who were very letchy and even went as far on a few occassions to touch our toes which made it very uncomfortable.
There was a wide selection of food and they worked very hard to provide a variety. Myself and my partner came down with stomach ache and many others were complaining of stomach upset. We stayed at the hotel for the rest of our stay due to this but still it was nice to dip in and out of the pool.
The entertainment was at 21.30 hours every night and lasted until 22.00-22.30. We personally felt that the entertainment was poor. However they did try very hard at pleasing the crowd.
Unfortunatley we booked our holiday for two weeks but left on the 7th day due to the bombings as it was just a stones throw away.

| said: As you drive up the driveway into the hotel you are immediately impressed. The gardens are nice and the hotel looks great.
You are met with hotel staff that cannot do enough for you. After a swift check in you are taken to your room by the porter who insists on carrying your cases for you. The rooms are spacious and have the much needed air conditioning.
The rooms are cleaned daily and there is constant cleaning around the reception area.
The food is good and plenty to chose from.
The alcohol does taste slightly different but it went down quite nicely none the less.
The staff are very friendly and couldn't do enough for you. Even after the bombings and during the very difficult time after the staff remained friendly and calm.
During our holiday we walked to Naama bay but was hassled constantly by taxi drivers. It took about 25 minutes and when you arrived there was restaurants, bars and shops. Luckily we were not there the night of the bombings so not sure what it will be like now.
I would return to this hotel although the weather was extremely hot for me.

| said: We arrived at Tropicana Garden Palms at 00.30 am, we were a little concerned when our suitcases were taken from us as we checked in, but as we did so noticed the splendid lobby with marble floors and staircases etc, it all appeared very grand. After getting to our room we went to get a drink. We were told the bar shut at midnight. We were a bit worried as to the nightlife here as it was dead. We evenutally talked the staff into giving us a bottle of water. First impressions of hotel as walking to our room were lovely well kept gardens, very clean, nice big pool etc. Arrived in room which was also very clean and spacious. It had a fridge, air con and a TV which had about 4-5 English speaking channels.
At first we were very impressed with the food, but towards the end were fed up with it as there was not much variety, also the drinks service was very slow until a particular waiter became accustomed to our generous tipping (£1 or £2 every 3rd night or so).
The hotel is near to the airport on the main road to Naama bay. A taxi to the airport was £10, and just £3 into Naama bay. The hotel would call a taxi which was much more pleasant than the blue & white's. A shuttle bus ran at numerous times during the day and night, at night time to Naama Bay and through the day to the sister hotel; Tropicana Grand Oasis (with a beach)or Days Inn Hotel (for the beach).
The staff were quite pleasant, although there was a towel man round the pool who was very miserable at times. It was annoying that we woke on a morning to go to the pool to find all beds with brolley's were covered with towels, although there were others available. After getting burnt we decided to join in with the booking beds but found that when we went back down the towels had been removed by staff and placed on a nearby chair. This seemed to happen every couple of days, which was more annoying than if it happened every day.
The entertainment started at 9.30 and usually consisted of a dodgy band and some dancers trying to get people up. Those that did get up looked painfully embarrassed to be there!
The rooms were cleaned daily, and towels changed daily. We came back to the room every day to find a different origami figure made from bedding/towels/clothes. We came home once to find a minature person with the remote control in his/her hand - quite scary at first!
All in all apart from the above small complaints the Hotel was probably one of the best we have stayed in abroad and would definitley go back.

Spent the following two days locked away in the hotel room with fever, stomach cramps and severe vomiting etc. The subsequent days were spent not too far from a toilet (for obvious reasons) and watching everything we ate even closer.
Won't be travelling back to Sharm again.
All but one member of staff were very curtious and friendly.
The Hotel Manager was very concerned and genuinely upset that we hadn't enjoyed our stay.

The hotel is superb. Rooms spotlessly clean with clean sheets everyday.
Food is of a high standard and caters for every pallet.
Entertainment is just starting to kick in to summer timetable. My son jack 7 yrs loved the go-karts opposite the hotel and the quad bike trip in the desert
behind the hotel. A rep in hotel grounds "Figo" booked our trips to Ras Mohamed national park by boat and quad bike trips all at excellent value.
We loved the designs on our beds each day that the staff made with our sheets and towels, crocs and snakes and even a baby? With the help of my wife’s clip on pony tail.
We shall try and return to this hotel later in the year.

The housekeeping staff were fntastic and the room was cleaned to a very high standard every day.
The location was ideal for us as you could either catch the bus into town or taxi.
The staff both in and outside of the hotel were fantastic, they couldn't do enough for you even the poolside staff, couldn't keep up with the drinking.
It states in the brochure that it is localally produced alcohol so what do people expect, the red wine was drinkable.
We are looking to go back in May of this year, as our children who are 15, 13 and 12 loved it, so did we.

| said: We found the hotel cleanliness to be very good and our large room was cleaned every day to a high standard.
The food had plenty of choice especially desserts but let down by the fact that it could have been hotter. The Italian Restaurant is now open and worth a visit.
The hotel is a fifteen minute walk to the Gaffy Beach which is the start of Naama Bay, for those who want it there is a free bus service. Towels, sunbeds, umbrellas free of charge on Gaffy Beach. You can also visit the sister hotel via free bus, vouchers provided to have drinks, food and use of sunbeds.
Some aircraft noise is heard as in other hotels in Naama Bay but it is not a problem.
Staff are friendly and provide a good service with the exception of the pool bar.
Entertainment OK but nothing special and short lived.
At Gaffy Beach the fish are amazing and the sea is warm unlike the hotel pool. It's worth buying snorkelling equipment in the resort to make the most of it.
On Gaffy Beach trips are on offer for about half the price charged by tour operators and we booked two (a days snorkelling trip and quad biking) which were both excellent.

| said: Looking at the hotel, you would definatly be impressed. The whole area was clean(even the area around the building works) Gardens were well presented and the there was a real fresh aura in the place. The room cleanliness was superb and the guy who cleaned our room was so polite and he even made animals out of towels and left a big bunch of flowers for my partner on realising it was her birthday.
That is about all that is good about the hotel.
It has one restaurant, allegedly there is a second(italian) but this seems to be exclusive to italians. The restaurant offers a range of food which is very similar each day. A big concern is the way all the products are not kept warm once on the buffet table. This is a concern as scrambled egg, rice and fish are all causes of dodgy stomach!
There is two barsone a pool and one inside which seats about 20(if there was rain this would get very crowded). And Free drinks are only purchasable in about a third pint glasses. You can get them in the original bottle for a beer but you have to pay!!!Light snacks are available from the pool bar, again mostly cold, and also dry due to dehydration! There is nowhere on site to get snacks like crisps, water, bicuits, or juice. Even to pay for!!
The pool attendents are the worst part of the holiday. Having to get up early(7am) to reserve a sunbed. Come thursday, the pool attendant decided that you were not allowed to reserve and he wopuld move your towel if you even went to the toilet!. He was then caught reserving sunbeds for a group of italians who, in general, were treated like royalty by all staff in the complex. he was given a light telling off by the manager, but this seemed to not work.
Overall, Italians were treated much better than any other country.
I did enjoy my holiday, but only because myself, my partner and a few other brits had a good time moaning. The weather was spot on and hot, which is really just what i wanted(so i am happy)

| said: I got back on sunday from a week in Sharm at this hotel and I am SOOOO depressed that I'm not still there. You lucky lucky people who have got your holidays booked! Ah well, here's my review of Tropicana Garden Palms, and a few opinions of other guests we met there as we found mixed views on certain aspects.
First of all, this hotel has only been open 6 months which is why there's not much about it any where. It's one of the first hotels in the Strip from the airport to Naama bay so probably about a 30 min walk into main Naama Bay (or £2 in a taxi!!).
The hotel itself is beautiful, exactly as it looks on the website pics. There are two pool areas, both large and gorgeous. The lobby is all gleaming marble and there's an indoor air conned bar area if the heat gets to you. The rooms are very spacious, with a fridge and TV etc, my only gripe would be no balcony, but to be honest I didn't really miss it.
The rooms are cleaned daily and the cleaner likes to leave little origami style surprises on your bed! The staff are ALWAYS cleaning it seems - no worries about bugs or dirtiness at all.
Back to the pool for a second, one slight complaint (not the hotels fault) is that the sun loungers were often all bagged by annoying people putting their towels down in the morning - I HATE THAT!!! But it seems to be the thing to do (very annoying when the hotel is full).
The food is served in a dining hall buffet style, but 3 niight per week they serve it outside by the pool barbeque style which is beautiful. I had no problems with the food - it's very standard but there's a fair amount of choice (although desserts are all horrible!). I recommend the pasta chef which I only discovered on my last night - boo!
However, some other guests weren't too chuffed with the food - given the star rating of this hotel (4*) and the all inclusive option, some people described the food as repetitive and boring. The other thing to be aware of is the standard of drinks. Local spirits are FOUL. If you like you spirits, do as we did and take your own (very cheap from duty free) and just top up soft drinks out there. But the wine and beer are highly drinkable in my opinion (it's got to be said though - I aint THAT fussy where vino is concerned!).
The one thing I really didn't like was the entertainment staff. "Animation" are pushy and rude and potentially intimidating i.e. trying to make you get involved when you've said you're not interested, trying to make you buy raffle tickets etc.
The hotel has free bus service to Tropicana Grand Oasis where there is a man made beach/ snorkel area. Once I saw that place I realised we had got the better deal, it's so dated and absolutely huge - far too many guests.
Overall, we got this holiday on a last minute deal and paid £500 all inc for the week. I was very pleased with the holiday and would stay here again. However, if I had paid more my expectations may have been higher as some other guests were, and so you should keep an open mind about this. I would describe it as a very good 3* hotel rather than a 4*, but still I had an amazing time (and it was 37 degrees when we left!!)

| said: First impressions were very good but our troubles began on the first morning. We had jusst relaxed at the side of the pool when very loud disco music started blasting out across the pool area. The Italian Animation team had started to get into full swing. We had chosen this Hotel because it was 'Perfect for those seeking a calm and relaxed atmosphere'. We moved to the bottom pool and although it was quieter, was surrounded by unfinished buildings that were being used for store rooms.
For the first few days, the food seemed quite good but then it became very monotonous and repetetive and was all very spicey with little choice. It was not served hot and after 4 days I got very severe stomach cramps with sickness diarrhoea which lasted for several days. I later found out that a lot of other people had been ill. For the last 5 days of my stay, my wife and I lived on soup and bread. Only one restaurante was open and the Italian restaurante advertised did not exist as was the case with the dive centre. I had several altercations with the reception staff who seemed to treat me with complete indifference.
The alchoholic drinks where virtually undrinkable and I once noticed one of the bar staff topping up beer from half empty returned glasses.
This has been my fifth visit to Egypt and the first time I have reason to complain. I would definately rate this as a 4 star + hotel and would never return there again.
