| said: Firstly, we were a little disappointed with the size of our apartment. It was a little too small for all 4 of us plus an infant.
The pools are lovely and have lots of different levels, and the paddling and children's pools are sectioned off.
In the evening time, there was an entertainer who is absolutle fantastic- I don't know where she gets her energy and enthusiasm from! There is a kiddies disco and bingo every night, plus karaoke, parrot show, hypnotist on different nights. There is a pool table and a soccer ground with goalposts at the back of the bar to keep the boys /men entertained! Basically, everybody is kept happy.
Overall, a good holiday.

We did eat in on a couple of occasions but there are plenty of places to eat outside of the hotel.
Weather was great, only had rain overnight midweek and for a couple of hours the next morning, ( friends stayed in alcudia the same week where the weather wasn't as good)
If you want a no frills holiday this is the place to go

| said: Me and my wife, our daughter, her partner and their 16 month old son (our grandson) stayed at the Gran Santa Ponsa for a week from the 29 Sept 2007. We had two x one bedroom aparts on the first floor (Nos 125 and 126).
I had requested (via email 1 week before we went), first floor, pool view and 'quiet' rooms away from the main road and bar, and we got exactly what we'd asked for. The aparts that back on to the main road can suffer from traffic noise and some are also directly above the pool bar area so there would be music and noise until 12 midnight, if that was an issue, eg young kids etc?
The Gran SP are in a great location only 5 mins walk to the prom and beach, and also the restaurants, bars and shops that line the prom and nearby area.
It is about 10 mins along the prom (flat) to the start of the street known as the 'Irsh Quarter' which has a good range of lively bars, music, cocktails etc. A 10 minute walk in the other direction, up the incline (slight hill) brings you to 'The Square' with more small bars, cafes, and shops.
The are live shows on in the square most nights (free), tribute shows (Westlife, Abba etc) and other entertainment from about 9.30pm. If the walk is too much you can get a bus from in front of the Plaza Hotel at the end of the prom. Taxi's are cheap and regular from the same place on the large round-about.
As for the Gran SP aparts themselves they are really good for families or couples. They have a large pool with various parts for different ages etc, e.g. kiddies pool, shallow bit, 1 meter and 2 meter parts, and a fountain in the middle!
Plenty of free sun beds, but no matteresses, and you have to pay about 1.50 Euro for a brollie for the day. There is a smallish lounge and pool bar with covered area and seating, breakfast is available and snacks/meals are served throughout the day.
We had a few drinks at the bar and prices were reasonable, but we didn't eat there as there are so many v.good restaurants in SP only 5 mins walk from the apartments.
The was entertainment on at the bar most nights but we went out and about in the resort, so I can't comment on it other than it did not seam to be more than average?
For Self Catering need there is a good superrmarket directly across the (main) road from the Aparts, and a larger hyper market 5 min walk up the road.
Both sell ALL your SC needs, and are cheap and well stocked for cheap water, softr drinks, beer etc at a fraction of the cost in bars and cafes, AND lovely fresh bread and bakery.
The Apartment rooms are very nice, nothing flash but well equipped, bright, and nicely furnished. The living area and kitchenette is smaller than the twin bedroom, which had a fitted wardrobe, two good sized twin beds, dressing table and a digital safe (paid for at reception).
The living area had free aircon unit which was very effective, although we did not need it much as it was warm and sunny first week Oct, but not scorching or too hot at night.
There are plenty of utensils and crockery for up to 4 people, plus toaster, kettle and micrwavr (free, but have to be requested in advance). Nice modern bathroom with full bath and powerful shower, AND plenty of hot water all day/night.
There was a good sized balcony with table/chairs. ALL rooms overlook the pool area, but those on the ground floor may be dark due to surrounding trees and hedges etc.
The maid service was efficient (but they don't work Sunday or Wednesday). Otherwise towels changed regularly and bedding twice in the week.
All staff at the Gran SP are friendly, polite and helpful, there was a life guard on duty at the pool most of the day and the pool area was always kept clean and tidy. There are NO ball games or rowdy behaviour allowed around the pool or generally in the Apart complex, which is a good thing for families etc, so these really would not suit a group of 'young' people wanting a 18-30's type holiday.... there can stay in Magaluf (10 minutes away by taxi!!!).
Overall we all really liked the Gran SP Aparts and wquld recommend it for a good, no frills, value for money holiday (£199 per adult for 1 wk SC / in 2 aparts).
We also loved the resort of Santa Ponsa itself, it was our first time there (and our first time back to Majorca for a number of years). We were all very impressed with how clean and family friendly the resort is, with a lovely soft sandy beach, and enough variety of facilities to keep you going for a week or two.
It is also only 10 mins to Magaluf, Palma Nove and a little further to Palma City, all easily reach by local bus or taxi.
We will certainly look to return to SP in coming years for a family or couples holiday (but we also like to try different places at different times).
PS the Weather was great first week in Oct, except for one shower at night mid week and an hour long rain/thunder storm which quickly cleared.

| said: This was our third year of staying in these apartments and we will book a fourth! We can't be the only ones who feel the same way because we meet the same families their each year some of which have been going for years and years.
The apartments are quite small but everything else makes up for the size! The staff are very friendly and welcoming - nothing is too much trouble. If you have any problems they are sorted out straight away.
For young children the early evening entertainment is brilliant. The adult entertainment is a little cheesy but fun if you want to enter into the spirit of things.
There is a lovely pool divided into four sections. The three smaller sections allow for children of different sizes.
The hotel food is ok for a lunchtime burgers, toasties, omlettes etc but you will probbaly want to eat out for an evening meal.
There is a great supermarket opposite the hotel that stocks a good selection of foods and English newspapers.

| said: Third time to visit the Grand Santa Ponsa.
Great location shops bars and beach within very short walking distance.
Different entertainment each night if you dont like it theres always the town where theres always something to suit your taste.
Rooms are kept spotless by the staff.
The pool area is great ther are plenty of beds which are free of charge not like other apartments.the life guards are very strict and always patrol the pool.
Only two complaints the bar staff could leave you standing at the counter for along time and our friends 9 year son slipped on the out side tiles after it had been raining and received a terrible bang to the head. The night porter was not much help in calling a doctor after a bit of aruging with him he did call one . The tiles should have been mopped up that night!
The hotel management refunded the cost of the doctor and promptly acted so it didnt happen again.
Other than that brillant place. Going back for a 4th time.

| said: Hi, My first impressions of the apartments were that they were very clean and modern. The reception staff were very helpful and friendly and the maids did there job very well.
The food on the other hand was not very appealing especially the hamburgers which looked half cooked.
However my sisters and I cant complain as the bar staff and lifegaurds were stunning and they were nice to speak to although they may have not understood everything we said. hehe
We werent very impressed with the entertainment. The main entertainer women had a very annoying voice and always spoke through songs which really bugged us. Also we feel there was hardly anything for the over 15s to do it seemed to be focused on entertaining little kids which left us teens bored.
The pool was great I cant fault that but the computer was a total joke, you would put loads of money in it and it would use it all up by taking about 20 minutes to load a single page.
Apart from all this we did all have an enjoyable time but we would only consider going back if the entertainment improved.

| said: The Grand Santa Ponsa Appartments are in a very good location in as much as they are 5 mins walk from a large supermarket and far enough away (about 5 mins walk)from the slightly noisier beach front.
The Apartments are kept very clean and the cleaners work throughout the day. Clean towels are provided almost every day. Don't bother requesting a pool view as ALL the rooms are pool view as the apartments are in a 3 sided arrangement all facing inwards over the pool. Some of the rooms were RIGHT over the entertainment area and will keep you awake until around midnight when the entertainment stops, though as all the rooms overlook the pool area there is some unavoidable noise but the rooms furthest away will obviously be slightly quieter.
We didn't think much of the "kids club" as all it is is watching video's or drawing (though all is supervised). The kids entertainer was sooooooo boring. She was Spanish who spoke good English (with a Scottish accent !!!). She was fine the first night but the second night she played the SAME games and played the SAME 5 records. The following night... she played the SAME again and the next night and the next night !!! VERY repetitive.
The evening entertainment was ok some nights and TERRIBLE other nights. We had a Rod Stewart act, a Flamenco dancing act, 2 comedians, a mime act, and a quiz night... which was embarrassing really as they advertise it well, but was organised badly as the woman who ran it didn't start on time, didn't explain anything and all it was was 30 questions and you put the answers on a plain piece of paper (which some people didn't put their names on... though this was one of the things she didn't remind people to do !!)
The reception staff are excellent and very helpful, though they charge E1.50 to change £100 travellers cheques. I would go back, but would now know what to expect.
The hotel is frequented by A LOT of Irish. I would say AT LEAST 80% of residents were from Ireland with a few from the rest of England, Scotland and Wales.
Sky TV is available in the bar area.
Saturday is “chaos day” as about 90% of flights carrying people to the apartments arrive on Saturday. Maybe a good idea to arrive on the Tuesday – which seemed to be the only other day people arrived. Looking on the departures board at the end of your holiday showed flights leaving/arriving thick and fast from 06:00 am onwards.

The entertainment was very good and the childrens entertainer was excellent. My mom & dad who came with us went there 2 years ago and I can now see why they wanted us all to go as a family and will certainly be reutrning again next year.
Keep it up team Fantastic!!!.

the accomodation was quite near the irish centre and entertainment but not near enough for you to be disturbed by the noise.
it was a bit of a walk away from the spanish centre but it was only a couple of euros in a taxi

| said: We visited The Gran Santa Ponsa apartments two years ago now and had a great time. The evening entertainment was excellent and the whole place was clean and tidy.
The only word of caution is that this hotel had many many young Irish folk that were hell bent on having fun. No problems with that, but they did make quite a large amount of noise especially about 3-4am when they all returned absolutley plastered. Lookily our apartment was well away from the fun lovers or our holiday could have been hell.
On the positive side, when they all woke up (Usually around 2pm) there was plenty of tottie around the pool.
Have Fun (Just make sure you get a quiet apartment)

| said: We first stayed in these apartments in 2002 and have been coming back every year since.
Staff are excellent willing to help at any opportunity, cleanest apartments ever stayed in.
Entertainment is excellent kids club very safe during day time and @ night, mini disco for kids primary school age, then entertainment for older age groups.
Falcon rep never needed as staff @ apartments sort out all queries even when my 9 yr old was admitted to hosp with pneumonia it was staff @ apartments who arranged taxis for my husband and other kids to get to hospital, allowed hubby to use their phone not payphone. Also entertainer Mary made sure younger daughter had great holiday even looked after her for a day staff now our very dear friends and we look forward to seeing them each year and receive a great welcome when we return feels just like home.
Now can book direct with apartments don't need tour company which is great as reps usually young and hung over.
Apartments in quiet location few minutes from beach beside 2 supermarkets pizza & ice cream parlours but within walking distance of all Santa Ponsa, hot spots would recommend this holiday to all ages although family location not for those looking young and lively holiday.
